When we walked in was I ever surprised, Dr. Morris was black. My guess at his age was about fifty-five. He was five foot nine and looked to be over weight. He was wearing a robe, dark green in color so I couldn’t really tell. Brandy introduced me to him and he cordially thanked me for coming. When the service started I found out he was a very good speaker. He was not preacher he was a teacher and yes I really did enjoy his sermon.
On our way home I said to Brandi, “Does he always wear the robe.”
She said, “I don’t have any Idea, I have only seen him in church and at our counseling session. He always has had it on around me. Why do you ask?”
“I have always thought a minister in any religion should wear robes. It sets them apart from their congregations. Most of the churches that I have gone too, the ministers always wore suits and ties. When the ministers took their coats off a lot of them had sweated, under their arms, that did not look very appealing.”
Brandi then ask me, “What is on your agenda for this coming week? When are you going back to Los Angles?”
“What I have got planned for tomorrow is to get my friend Mike over to the house so he can change alarm systems for you. I have to get a lot of property looked at, we have a couple of subdivisions to get in. That’s what’s on tap for me, plus quit a bit of paper work. I am suppose to leave a week from this coming Tuesday. So when is your next counseling session?”
“My counseling is every Tuesday at four pm, it usually last one to two hours.”
The rest of the day we ate and did small talk, watched a little television. We went to bed quit early.
The next morning I called my friend Mike to get the alarm system fixed. I told him what Brandi wanted. Then I told him what I wanted. I told him that Brandi had no idea where the cameras where. I want the controls just to the camera’s put into my office. The control box was next to the front door. I want her to think that she is controlling everything. He told me there would be no problem doing this. He would just hook up a remote control that I could use any where in the house. I would like you to also put a GPS on Brandi’s car. He told me he could take care of that. All he had to do was stick it under her bumper and I could follow her any where on my computer.
On Monday, alarms got straightened out just the way I wanted them. It was about two, Tuesday afternoon when the telephone rang. I was in my office doing paper work. I looked down to see who it was and it was Dr. Morris. I picked up the phone and Brandi had already said hello.
Dr. Morris said, “Hi Brandi how are you? I have some bad news, my uncle died and I have to go out of town. I have to go do his funeral and be with my relatives. I will be back late Saturday night. I have to cancel our appointment. I will give you a call next Monday.
Brandi replied, “I sure hope everything will be alright. You know I will miss you? I really look forward to our sessions.”
“I will probably be on a downer next Tuesday. Maybe we can think of something to pick me up. How does that sound to you? By the way when does your husband go back to LA?” Dr. Morris replied.
Brandi said, “Well if we can think of something different to do that sounds great. So I will be at the church for my counseling a week form this coming tomorrow, in fact that is the day John goes back to LA. Please Dr. Morris go with God’s speed. I will be praying for you.”
“OK, Brandi see you next week, bye.”
