I really didn't start out to be a bar maid. In fact when I was a little boy
(Yes I said boy) all I wanted to be was a sailor like my father, Brandon
Fletcher, Jr., and grandfather before him. I was Brandon Fletcher III. I
guess you might say that I infected my best friend Mark Sawyer with my desire
as we both planed to join the merchant marine as soon as we were of age. So
at the age of eighteen Mark and I shipped out from the port of Seattle.
During the next few years Mark and I saw most of the world, and along the way
both of us had a number of girlfriends (Like one in every port).
It seemed that things could not get better for the two of us. We were young
strong handsome and having the time of our lives, till the storm that changed
my life.
It started out like any other day at sea, after morning chow and chores Mark
and I went up to the wheel house to take turns conning the ship we both had
recently gotten our masters tickets and so we were now considered to be
officers and could take over as O. O. W. thus relieving the others from this
chronically shorthanded position.
Mark took first watch so I went forward to check out the stowage and batten
things down as the radar showed that a large storm was brewing and we were
likely to be encountering heavy seas. The storm hit as I was up on the
forecastle and I had to tie myself to a bollard so as not be washed overboard
as we were taking green water at the bow. The lighting was weird as it was
not white, or blue but green. The most incredible thing was the clouds seemed
to form a hole in the sky.
Then disaster struck me when the green lighting struck me square in the chest
severing the rope and throwing my limp body up,up into.
The next thing I remember was pain so bad that all I wanted to do was scream
but I could not move a muscle I wondered if this was what Hell was like.
A voice in my head told me that this was neither Heaven or Hell but the
future. It seemed that a band of scientists from the year 3348 had been
trying to fetch samples of sea life from our time and had gotten me as well.
Realizing that I was damaged, in fact dying, they had placed me in a
null-time chamber until they could get to a place were I could be repaired.
"You are badly damaged as a matter of fact you should be nonfunctional. But
the tenacity of the human is in my memory banks and I am sorry for the pain
you must be enduring but you must realize that in the human pain is an
indicator that I do not understand. You see I am a machine, A computer in
fact I am the last lifeform left on earth. Humankind did create me to be
caretaker for earth when they had to evacuate because a rogue sun was
entering the solar system. So they left one thousand years ago.
It took some time to develop the temporal technology to reach back into time
and bring back samples to nurture and try to rebuild an ecology so mankind
can return to a green peaceful world, restored to what it was when they left.
I never intended to bring a human ahead especially a dying one. The problem
is that I never anticipated a need to load any human medical knowledge and
had no facilities to treat you so I kept you in a null time state until they
could be constructed. You see you are damaged on a chromosomal level the Y
chromosome was damaged by your trip thru time. And the only way that you can
be rebuilt is as a female of your species."
This shocked me to the core. I had never even thought about what it was like
to be a female so consumed with the dream of a life at sea that I had had.
Now the only way I could even survive was as a woman.
"Do It." I thought "Anything to rid me of this pain after all at least I will
be alive and not a paralyzed lump in constant torment."
I then lost conciseness again. When I awoke I felt no pain and I knew that
the computer using robot drones had rebuilt me. I now and forever more was a
female. I sat up in a room that looked like a teenage girls room and the
voice in my head (the computer speaking telepathically) told me that it had
as well as rebuilding me as a girl of nineteen, all the knowledge about
functioning as a female had been impressed on my brain alongside the
knowledge that I already had. The room was in a city complex in an enclave
that had been restored ecologically. The computer, Whom I now called Mike
(after an old Sci-fi book) told me that the work was going nicely and earth
would be ready for repopulating in five hundred years. Mike also told me that
he was in contact with the humans of his time and some were looking forward
to coming home.
I was offered a life there in the future or I could return to my own time as
the temporal device had been refined so as to be able to return me without
further damage.
I decided for a time to remain with Mike for a while however we both knew
that I would return to 2002 soon. To keep me company and teach me how to act
and react like a woman Mike had several robots fitted with holographic images
so they looked like people it seemed that they all had different
personalities There was one named Michelle she was a great friend and teacher
of how to be a woman. Mike even took on a "real" body and boy I tell you if
there ever there was a doubt in my mind that I was now a woman they were gone
as I saw the most handsome manform I had ever seen.
I was in instant lust and could feel the moistness in my new crotch as I knew

explained that this robot was unlike any other as his had an artificial skin

months before the storm. I took with me enough gold and other valuables to
set me up for life as I knew that no one would hire a 5'8" girl on as a
master seaman. So I would have to do something else until I could set my
master plan in motion You see I Wanted to meet and console Mark in his grief
at the 'loss' of his best friend. I had loved Mark as a best friend all of my
life now as a woman I could be a lover to him.
I decided that the best way to meet him was to take a job in the bar that he
and I had frequented just off the dock area of Seattle near the hostel that
we had stayed in every time we stayed over here between ships.
Brandi wears a braided chain made of finest silver from the north of Spain
A locket that bears the name of the man that Brandi loves
I had a locket made in the future with Marks name engraved into it, but it
was much more than a mere piece of jewelry it allowed me to contact Mike thru
time and space. If I ever needed aid from Him-it it would be sent to me no
matter where or when I was.
He came on a summers day bearing gifts from far away
But he made it clear he could not stay
The harbor was his home.
We met and fell in love as I had planned but there was a hitch Mark had
developed a love for the sea as great as I had before... There was no way
that I could compete with the sea as his mistress
Brandi used to watch his eyes as he told his sailors stories.
She could see the ocean full of life.
She'd seen it's raging glory But he had always told the truth
Yes he was a honest man
And Brandi had the sense to understand
Mark and I were lovers for months but all the time I could sense that the ocean
was calling him back to her. It was a call he could never resist. One day
when I came home he was gone. He wrote me a tender letter saying that he
really couldn't stay Because for some strange reason I reminded him of his
best friend and boyhood pal Brandon.
At night when the bars close down Brandi walks through a silent town
And loves a man who's not around she still can hear him say;

I have been thinking of using my locket to ask Mike if he could maybe change
