December 6, 1988, Chicago, Illinois

Veronica had dinner just about ready when I walked in, and after kissing Kara and Birgit, I helped carry dinner to the table.

“How were the kids today?” I asked her as we sat down to dinner.

“No trouble at all, really. Though Jesse is starting to snoop for Christmas presents!”

“That kid!” I chuckled. “It’s only the first week in December! Did you mention it to Jen or Josie?”

“Josie. She said they’d lock them up.”

“That little turkey will find the key,” I chuckled.

“He’s YOUR son,” Kara said, sitting down next to me.

“Yes, he is. Honey, I need to go next door to help Penny with something at 7:30pm. Hopefully it won’t take too long.”

“Is there a problem?”

“That’s what I’m hoping to prevent,” I said. “I’ll tell you afterwards, OK?”

“Sure,” she said.

After we ate, I spent some time with Kara, Elyse, Birgit, and Matthew, and then headed next door to the Nichols’ house. Penny let me in and led me to the living room where Terry was with Alice and Bart. I sat in a chair, while Penny and Terry sat on the loveseat and Bart and Alice sat on the couch. I saw Terry take Penny’s hand and I gave her a loving look.

Penny took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

“Mom, I’m pregnant,” she said.

There was stunned silence in the room, at least from the couch. I kept my mouth shut, beceause I was present for moral support and, as Penny had said, to referee if things got testy. It seemed like forever, but it was probably only twenty seconds or so before Alice spoke.

“You’re sure?” she asked.

“Yes, mom. I missed two periods as of Sunday and I did two EPTs.”

“How did this happen?” Alice asked, her eyes narrowing.

I hoped Penny played it straight, because I sensed that Alice was in no mood for humor.

“I missed taking my Pill one morning because I was in a hurry. I doubled-up the next day, but we didn’t use a condom the way they recommend.”

“What do you plan to do?” Bart asked.

“Stay out of this, Bart,” Alice said.

He looked at me and I shrugged slightly. He and I were observers in the room. He wasn’t Penny’s biological father, though she treated him like a dad. She hadn’t been to Florida to see her ‘real’ dad in years, and she had no desire to see him.

“What do you mean? I plan to have the baby of course!”

“What about school? And work? How are you going to take care of a baby?”

Terry cleared his throat, “Mrs. Nichols, I have a good job that pays well thanks to Steve. I can take care of both Penny and our baby.”

“You stay out of this as well!” Alice growled.

It was time for me to play referee. I could agree that Bart might stay out of it, but not Terry.

“Alice, that’s not fair,” I said, using the word I hated, but which made sense to use. “He’s the baby’s father. Why don’t you let Penny and Terry tell you their plans?”

“You!” she spat. “This is all YOUR fault!”

“Mom!” Penny said, raising her voice. “Stop it! I love Terry. He asked me to marry him!”

“Well, thank heaven for small favors!” Alice said sarcastically.

“I told him ‘no’,” Penny said.

Alice gasped and was about to say something when Bart put his hand on Alice’s arm.

“This will go smoother if you just let the kids tell you without having a fit!” Bart advised.

“A fit? My daughter is pregnant! And unmarried! And won’t get married! And throwing away her scholarship! Though I’m sure Steve will support her bad decisions by letting her work full time.”

That tore it. I was in no mood for Alice’s moralistic bullshit. I had no idea where it was coming from because it was not what I would have expected. Clearly, Penny had, and that’s why I was here.

“Alice, for fuck’s sake,” I said, swearing for effect, speaking firmly. “She’s pregnant, not dying of cancer! If Kara can complete a Master’s degree with Birgit around, Penny can surely finish her undergraduate degree! I don’t know what plans Terry and Penny have, but we have a live-in nanny next door and adding one more member to Jesse’s posse isn’t going to cause a single moment of hardship on Veronica’s part.”

“You think it’s that simple?” Alice countered.

“Yes and no,” I said. “As Terry said, he can support her. And how do you figure she’s throwing away her scholarship? This isn’t the fifties where pregnant girls were hidden away and women were expected to be barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen! I do NOT have a problem with a woman who chooses to be a stay-at-home mom, so long as it’s her choice to do that! Now, back off and let Penny tell you what they’re doing!”

“Get out!” Alice screamed.

“No,” Bart said firmly.

Now it was my turn to be quiet, and I gave Penny and Terry a look that told them to let this play out.

“What?!” Alice gasped in shock.

Bart got up and held out his hand, “Come to my study. Now,” he said firmly.

Alice looked daggers at Bart, but got up and followed him into his study. They shut the door and I heard a hushed, but strident conversation that I couldn’t make out.

“How’d you know she was going to flip her lid?” I asked. “She always seemed to be reasonable.”

“I’ve lived with her for almost twenty years! And you haven’t heard what she’s said about Jennifer, Elyse, and Kara.”

I sighed, “That’s probably a good thing. I might have ripped her a new one.”

“I think you just did, Boss,” Terry said.

I chuckled, “I may have been a bit out of line there.”

“No way, Steve!” Penny said. “Now you see why I need to move out?”

“She’ll come around,” I said. “Just give her time and let Bart work on her. But I also understand about moving out. I did it when I was eighteen. I know you wanted to, but it didn’t work out.”

“You kept having kids!” Penny said. “That filled all the rooms!”

“True,” I chuckled.

“Can I ask how things went on Sunday?” Penny said quietly.

“Shitty,” I said. “That’s the only word I can think of.”

“I’m so sorry, Steve. Is there ANY hope?”

“If you believe in miracles, yes. Otherwise? Probably not. We know what the tests are going to show.”

“Tests?” Terry asked. “Is Jessica sick?”

“I’ll explain later,” Penny said, looking at me for approval, which I gave by nod.

Alice and Bart came back out of the study and sat down. Alice looked fit to be tied, but Bart had a small smile.

“Penny, tell us your plans, please,” Bart said.

“The baby is due in late July, I think, though I need to make an OB appointment to get checked out and be sure. That means there isn’t much risk of missing any school. Steve just offered something I was going to ask about, which solves the biggest problem. I have two years of school left, and a guaranteed job. What I didn’t get to say was that while I told Terry ‘no’ about getting married, that’s more of a ‘not yet’. I think we’ll eventually get married, but that’s just not important to me at the moment. I appreciate him offering, but it’s not time.”

She took a deep breath and continued.

“I did tell him that I would move in with him. He has an apartment in Bridgeport that’s big enough for us and the baby. We can easily afford it on his salary and mine. And I have lots of savings and investments that you and Steve helped me with. We’ve thought this through, Bart. I’ve known that I was pregnant for over a month. We told Steve on Saturday. I’m sure you know that he’s been supportive. I plan to move out after Christmas.”

Alice’s face was ashen, and I wondered if she was going to have a stroke, faint, or explode.

“I’d say you kids have a reasonable plan,” Bart said. “I do wish you would get married for the baby’s sake. I guess as liberal as I am, I’m still old fashioned in some ways. You kind of put the cart before the horse, but there’s no going back now. I suppose congratulations are in order.”

Penny beamed, “Thanks.”

“Alice,” I said. “I’m sorry for swearing at you and for raising my voice. I hope that you’ll accept my apology. And you too, Bart.”

“I think everyone just got a tad emotional about this,” he said. “Why don’t you let us talk as a family?”

“Absolutely,” I said. “Penny, if you need anything, just call.”

“Thanks for coming and supporting us, Steve.”

“Anytime!” I said.

Penny and Terry got up and walked me to the door. She gave him a look and he rolled his eyes and nodded. He looked so much like Pete at that moment that I knew what was coming. Penny gave me a tight hug and a soft kiss. It wasn’t one of Melanie’s searing French kisses, but in a way, it was even more erotic.

“Behave, Penny,” I chuckled when we broke the kiss.

“That was just me saying ‘Thank you’. I don’t think I can do that ever again.”

“Probably not, Pretty Penny. And from now on, you need to go to Terry first with any personal issues you have. I can’t ever come between you two.”

She nodded, “I know.”

“Thanks, Boss. For everything!” Terry said, extending his hand.

“Welcome to the family!” I grinned, taking his hand and shaking it firmly.

“Why do I feel like I just became a ‘made man’ in the Mafia?” he chuckled.

“Mafia or no, if you ever hurt her, you’ll WISH you were dealing with Michael Corleone,” I said calmly.

“I’ve known that since before our first date,” Terry said.

“Good,” I grinned.

“Forget it Terry, he’s a pussy cat!” Penny giggled. “You just have to know how to stroke him!”

Terry and I both groaned and rolled our eyes. I kissed Penny on the forehead and headed back to my own house.

“Everything OK?” Kara asked when I sat down between her and Elyse on the couch.

“Penny and Terry are moving in together.”

“No surprise there,” Elyse said.

I chuckled, “Oh, there’s a surprise all right, in about seven months.”

“No!” both girls exclaimed, sounding surprised, but not shocked.

“Yes, our little Penny has a bun in the oven!” I chuckled.

“But how?” Kara asked.

“Of all people on this planet, you’re the last one I expected to not know the answer to THAT question!” I teased.

“You know what I meant!” Kara laughed.

“Things happen. It wasn’t intentional, but they’re going to keep the baby. I offered her a share of Veronica. What’s one more kid?”

“Another one for Jesse to recruit into his cadre,” Elyse laughed.

“What if it’s a girl?” I grinned.

“Then Francesca may have to watch out!” Elyse smirked. “Can you imagine a son of yours with a daughter of Penny’s? Holy smokes!”

“She could very well have a boy, you know!”

“True. What’s she doing about school?”

“The baby is due during the summer. She’s on the patented ‘Kara Adams educational plan for unwed mothers’,” I teased.

“I guess she’ll need maternity leave in what, July or August?” Elyse asked.

“Yes. Financially they’ll be fine. Terry makes good money, and you know Penny’s position - 3% of the company, and she’s saved or invested nearly every dime she’s made, minus what she paid for the Daytona.”

“Which was a steal,” Elyse said.

“I know. But it’s Penny.”

“He’ll always have a soft spot for her in his heart,” Kara said.

“It’s time to put Matthew to bed,” Elyse said. “Mind if I take Steve upstairs now?”

“Not at all. His Pumpkin and I have a date for a late-night snack in a bit!”

“I have to say that I’m glad Matthew is on solid food. My nipples were about to fall off, they hurt so bad!”

“If they need tender, loving care, I think I can oblige!” I offered.

I kissed Kara and Birgit goodnight, and followed Elyse upstairs. We got Matthew ready for bed and put him down in the nursery, and once he was settled we went to Elyse’s room. She shut the door behind us, locked it, and to my surprise, went to sit on the very comfortable English rolled arm sofa that she’d recently bought. She patted the spot next to her and I went to sit.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“What do you mean?”

Elyse sighed, “I know absolutely everything that is going on in this house. What the heck are you doing?”

“Again, what do you mean?”

“Steve, you CAN NOT sleep with NIKA staff!”

Shit! Kimmy! I should have known that Elyse would figure it out. And denying it would do me no good.

“What gave it away?” I sighed.

“You two disappeared for lunch around the same time. Normally, that wouldn’t be overly suspicious because it only happened a few times. But yesterday, you left depressed and came back in a much better mood, and she came back looking like she’d just been screwed by an expert. Remember who you’re talking to here.”

“A very, very annoying young woman who is the mother to two of my children.”

“Let’s call it 1.5, but yes. Who else? Did you have sex with that young girl from karate that you took on a date?”

“Yes,” I sighed.

“That was this afternoon, as well, wasn’t it?”

“Are you fucking spying on me?” I asked.

“Steve leaves the office during the middle of the afternoon looking depressed. Comes back looking happy. High School gets out at 2:30pm. Kimmy didn’t leave. Kara was in school. Jolene works.”

“I’m an idiot to think I could hide it from you,” I said with resignation.

“Oh, you’re a bigger idiot. Who else? I know the pattern. And I talked to Jennifer. She’s worried about you. I know there’s at least two more. Come on, fess up. Now.”

“Jody at IIT. Hope Baxter.”

“Holy shit. OK. You’re not an idiot. You’re a FUCKING idiot! It’s one thing to screw a seventeen-year-old. You probably can get away with that. But isn’t Hope fourteen? Jesus, Steve. Jolene could call the cops on you if she finds out.”

“If?” I sighed.

“Oh for Pete’s sake! She knows? And she’s OK with this?”

“No, she’s definitely not OK with it, but she’s not calling the cops. She caught us in bed together.”

“Christ. You are taking some really, really stupid risks!”

I sighed, “I know. Jacqui’s parents almost caught us.”

“That explains the barefoot attempt to sneak into the house last Saturday. What did you do? Climb down a trellis?”

“No. But I didn’t put my shoes on so I could sneak out.”

“Who else?”

“That’s it,” I said.

“No, it’s not. There’s one more.”

I shook my head.

The Houston Flea Market Encounter

Authors note: This story is different than any of my other stories or series. Although almost all of my stories contain some element(s) of an actual event in my earlier life, this story is completely true except for the names of the characters. As they used to say on the old TV series, Dragnet, the names have been changed to protect the innocent. These events took place in the early 1970s. It all started on an unseasonably hot Saturday morning in June at the Houston Flea Market. I traveled to...

Texas TerrorChapter 12 Houston

Seven bodies now occupied the ravine on the back side of my ranch. It was filling up faster than I would have thought possible just a short time ago. But I was determined to add to my body count when I caught Steinman and made him tell the truth. The price he would pay for his treachery would be his life. I had to be sure that Tera and Lori were safe before all else. I called Jack and asked for his help. He sent an escort to bring the girls to his ranch and David and Jim to go with us to...

Houston We Have a Situation Here

I, Robert Samuel Houston, had scored the best find ever. I sat on the toilet in the bathroom with the laundry hamper open, a big grin stretched over my face. This was great. My older sister Becky normally didn't wear her nice underwear. Sometimes she wore it when she dressed up really nice, but that was rare and never for anything she went to school for. Since the hamper was quite full it had to be she was low on her normal everyday underwear and thus had to use what she had. My...

Andee Heats Up Houston Day 2

Andee woke to the sound of the shower running. Looking at the digital clock beside the bed she saw that it was just after 6:00 a.m. As she sat up in the bed, she was trying to shake out the cobwebs and jetlag in her head when the realization of what had gone on the night before became obvious. She was naked but couldn’t exactly remember at what point during the night her lingerie had come off. She rolled out of the bed, made her way to the closet and pulled on a t-shirt from her suitcase. She...

Hot Latina With Big Round Ass Fucked In Houston

Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed my 3 part series on incest sex with my cousins. Here is another of my sex experiences and this event took place in Houston. It was a hot summery day in Houston, the sun’s heat was scorching and it was shining directly over our heads. It had been around 6 months since I came to Houston to continue my studies for a degree in Anthropology. Since I did not have a car, I used to take the bus which was the cheapest and most convenient means of travel, to the college every...

Heather in Houston

As I stared out at the Texas heat from the hotel window, I was thankful for the luxury of air conditioning. However, despite the boiling 95°F weather outside, it would only get hotter for my young sub, Heather. We met online, and, inevitably, the conversation turned towards more lewd subject matters. At that point, we were comfortable with one another so the dangers of honesty were relatively low. She, only a year younger than I, was naturally submissive. We mutually understood the situation....

The Threesome Next DoorChapter 8 Houston We Have Lift Off

The following week Ginger had to be in Chicago area to see one of her clients. She was away two nights, and our daughter took it upon herself to be my consort both nights, although she wasn’t the only one. We sexted pictures to Ginger – usually erotic and sexy but with us making funny faces to keep it light. They were appreciated. Brad and Megan made an offer on the home on the other side of Doug, Beth, and Jo from us. After a little haggling they agreed on a price pending a home inspection...

Andee Heats Up Houston Day 3

Andee folded down the top of her suitcase and zipped it shut. In a few hours she would be back in Canada, back with her husband – and after the past couple days – back on her back as she shared her experiences in Houston with the man waiting at home. She looked at Don propped up against the edge of the desk, hands stuffed into his jeans as her thoughts turned to the fun she had enjoyed on this trip. She could see the disappointment in his face as he knew their time together had come to an end....

Houston Top Nights

This is a true story about a trip I took to Houston where I met a Mexican transgender woman. So I was in Houston for a trade show and had been messaging back and forth with a Latin trans woman I had met on FB a few weeks earlier. She was gorgeous in her photos and had been straight with me from the beginning about her gender. I let her know right off the bat that I was totally cool with it and respected trans women as just women so no issues with me.I flew in on a Friday afternoon and got a...

This is part 2 of my initial story “Houston Top Nights.”So it was around 7am Sunday morning and I woke up next to the gorgeous curvy Mexicana travesti I had spent the night with. She was hard asleep and being a morning person, I get most of my energy and creativity at first light. She was still fast asleep curled up in my arms her left hand wrapped around my cock where it had been all night long. I always get a huge boner first thing in the morning and I could feel mine growing in her now limp...

IBE The Days Of WanderingAddendumHouston

Kelly welcomed me back into her life with a bit of fear on her part. I mean she was really happy to see me, there was no hiding that, nor denying it. But after all this time together, she had been distinctly uncomfortable that my instinct was to run away rather than face this together- as we should have, frankly. Kelly asked me to sit with her in the living room, and I of course did so. “We really need to talk, Johnny,” she said. The infamous words wives say when their husbands are unlikely...

May 15, 1992, Glencoe, Illinois “Join me in my study, if you would,” Noel Spurgeon said when we finished our dessert. It had been an interesting evening. Samantha and I had talked for a bit before we’d been summoned to dinner. The meal had been prepared by a chef and was served by a white-coated young man. Again, this was a far cry from Lois at the van Hoeks’ house. What wasn’t a far cry was the fact that I was having dinner with a man who knew I was going to be sleeping with his daughter...

June 23, 1994, Oguni, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan My first week in Japan flew by, and a routine developed. Sakurako would wake me; I’d exercise and run, then shower and have breakfast, and share tea with Sakurako. After breakfast, I’d meditate, and then have my training session. After lunch, I’d work in the garden, or, as I had this day, wash the floors in the house. Hiroshi would accompany me back to the cottage and we’d talk while I washed up and dressed for dinner. After dinner, I’d spend...

He desperately tried to maintain his stiff upper lip as his life came crashing down around him. Swaying slightly, like a willow tree in a stiff breeze, he listened with barely half an ear to the explanation of healer Lorat. It was infuriatingly calm, clinical and void of emotion. "I don't believe you," he growled, beside himself with grief and rage. "There she is, completely uninjured except for the bump on the head when she slumped over. December 16, 1991, Chicago, Illinois “I have some analysis for you, if you’d like to hear it,” Doctor Mercer said. “I’m all ears.” “I think we can trace all of this, in fact, practically all of your interior life, back to your mother and your sister. In what I would call a distortion of the traditional archetypes, your mother is equated to bad, cold, and anti-sex, while your sister is equated to loving, understanding, and sexy. This means, I think, that for you, at least subconsciously,...

Houston Heat

I had just picked up my car after arriving in Houston and was on my way to the hotel. The heat was stifling on this July night, 98 degrees and humid like hell. I was sweating in the car with the AC going full blast. I stopped at my familiar Adult newsstand and picked up a copy of Playguy and then made my way to the hotel. As I reached my room I threw my suitcase on the bed and relaxed as I looked through the room service menu. I ordered a pizza and then began to unpack, and get out of my suit...

A WellLived Life Book 4 BethanyChapter 19 Real Problems

September 1980, Milford, Ohio At school on Monday, Erin came to find me at my locker. “You didn’t ask me out, Steve!” “I’m sorry,” I said, closing my locker. “I’ve been really busy. But we could go out for dinner and ice cream on Tuesday or Thursday?” “Thursday is fine! I do have to be home by 9:00pm.” “I’ll pick you up around 5:00pm.” In Miss Barkhurst’s class, we had our first dissection — earthworms. I got a kick out of who had problems with handling them and who didn’t. The funniest...

November 1980, Milford, Ohio On Thursday, I had my usual date with Elyse. We were still just good friends, and I didn’t expect that to change anytime soon. On Friday, Bethany and I went to dinner at Ponderosa and had steaks and baked potatoes. Once we finished, I paid, and we walked quickly to the car, driving straight to the apartment. We had our clothes off in seconds after closing the door. “I need you to fuck me silly,” Bethany growled. I pulled her to me and kissed her hard, our...

August 1981, Chicago, Illinois On Sunday morning, I made my usual call to Karin. I described everything in the apartment and all the things I’d done during the week, including the reception. Both of us would start school in a week and we were both looking forward to it. When we finished talking, I went out for my run, showered, and ate breakfast. I made some tea, started a load of laundry, and then turned on the stereo. I put on an REO Speedwagon album and then relaxed on the couch with the...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 63 Back to Work

August 21, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “Unbelievable,” I said when I read the headline from the Chicago Tribune. “It says here that Solidarity activist Tadeusz Mazowiecki was nominated to be Prime Minister of Poland.” I hadn’t had a chance to read the paper on Sunday because it hadn’t been delivered before we left for the race track in Michigan. “So now what?” Kara asked. “We’re in totally uncharted territory. Your guess is as good as anyone’s right about now.” “Steve, do you have a minute?”...

A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 36 My Lifes Journey

July, 1983, Chicago, Illinois I woke up early on the First of July, because my body clock was still set to Swedish time. The flight back had been long but uneventful, and I was happy that the businessman in the seat next to me hadn’t wanted to talk. I read, wrote some longhand journal entries, ate, and generally relaxed while the plane zipped over the Atlantic. I’d come home, taken a sauna, eaten a light meal, and gone straight to bed, not bothering to check messages, look at the mail that...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 4 Calm Before the Storm

June 1977 When I got home, I grabbed a Coke and some chips and went right to my room. I didn’t think I could deal with my parents or Jeff or Stephanie. I just needed to be by myself. That wouldn’t seem odd to anyone, because I often went to my room to read. In addition, I now had the TV I’d received for my birthday. I flipped it on to WXIX Channel 19 and reruns of Gilligan’s Island and Green Acres played in the background while I read. I had to get my mind clear for the final exams that...

A WellLived Life Book 7 Kara IIChapter 20 The Winds of Change

July, 1982, Milford, Ohio I woke up early on Friday morning to make breakfast for Kara and her mom before she went to work. Mrs. Blanchard was surprised, but very pleased. After her mom left for work, Kara gave me a fierce kiss. “Thanks for staying in and cooking breakfast for us,” Kara said. “I hope that doesn’t cause you trouble with Stephanie, with you breaking your normal routine.” “Don’t worry about it,” I said, kissing her back. “We got in a bit later than I expected, and she’ll...

A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 38 Jennifer

July, 1983, Chicago, Illinois After Rosie left, I stripped the sheets from my bed, as well as the cover of the duvet, and tossed everything into the washing machine. I lit a lavender candle in the room, and then swept and dusted. I did a quick spot-check of the rest of the house and noticed that the tub in the sauna needed to be cleaned. I scrubbed it, then mopped the sauna floor with a damp sponge mop. I finished cleaning the sauna about the time the washing machine finished, so I moved...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 4 ElyseChapter 64 Pull the Other One

May 26, 1991, Iron Mountain, Michigan “Shall we see if we can find a farm?” I asked at breakfast on Sunday morning. “That sounds like a great idea,” Jessica said. “There’s a visitor’s bureau in town,” Kara said. “I saw it when we were here the first time.” “I’m sorry I ruined that vacation,” Jessica said. “Ruined?” I protested. “Are you kidding? Getting you back was way more important than a few days of vacation!” “I agree,” Kara added. “Jess, you know exactly how bad off Steve was...

A WellLived Life Book 9 AnalaChapter 59 New Friends

August, 1984, Chicago, Illinois The rest of the week proceeded as expected - class on Wednesday, as well as the usual visit from Penny, work on Thursday, and class on Friday. Kara and I had lunch together at IIT, Sofia practiced her driving and parking, and I hung out with Mark Agnini after class for beers. Staci and I got into a couple of interesting debates about the Old Testament that Mark had to break up to allow others in the class to participate. She was very much of the ‘directly...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 7 Reaching the Peak

March 25, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “What time do I need to have you home?” “8:00pm will be fine,” Misty replied. “My parents are in Normal visiting my brother at Illinois State. They aren’t supposed to be home before 10:00pm.” Misty and I were in my car on the way to the NIKA apartment which, fortunately, was not being used. With our expansion, it was in more or less regular use, and that meant I didn’t have access to it as often as I would have liked. I was glad there had been a delay in...

January 17, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “What time do you have to leave this morning?” Kara asked as we showered together on Tuesday morning. “About 8:30am,” I said. “I’m driving over to get Jeri, then heading to O’Hare. We have an 11:00am flight. Assuming all goes well, we’ll be in the office by 3:00pm Pacific time. We’ll spend a couple hours going over the software then go to dinner. The demo is tomorrow. Our flight back on Thursday leaves LA at 11:00am, so we’ll be home by 8:00pm, I...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 7 Setting the Course of My Life

June 1977 Friday ended up being a non-event. The more I thought about it, the more I was sure that there was no way on this earth I could say what happened between Birgit and me was a sin. Calling it a sin would debase it into a meaningless act. I could never do that. And the more I thought about Jennie McGrath, the more sure I was that I couldn’t call what she did for me a sin, either. If the church was right, I was going to hell. And frankly, there was no way that could be true. So I...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 32 Still Together

July 22, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “Albert, do you have everything packed?” Mom asked. “Yes, Mom!” I replied, rolling my eyes because she’d asked before I went to bed. “He’ll be fine, Babe,” Dad said. “Let’s walk to the hospital.” I usually didn’t get up early, but Dad had suggested it would help Mom if I walked to the hospital with her because I was leaving to see Jane for three weeks. Mom, Dad, Aunt Kara and I left the house and headed down the sidewalk towards the hospital where Mom and...

May 14, 1997, Chicago, Illinois “Start talking!” Melanie demanded when I sat down in her office about an hour later. “There isn’t much to say. Katya found the information for me when I asked her to look into several things about Brandon Littleton, Kevin Lomax, and John Milton.” “Do you know more about him?” “A LOT more. I don’t think you want to know.” “Probably not, but I’m your criminal defense attorney, and even though San Antonio doesn’t have you involved in this, you know the CPD...

“So, how should we do these Stone’s songs?” Phil asked at our rehearsal session. “I think we all know the music, we just need to come up with a pretty awesome arrangement; we don’t want to sound like yet another cheap cover band.” “I had some ideas, if it’s okay for me to make some suggestions,” Allison said. “Of course it is,” Phil said. “Everyone can have a say, there’s no rule that says you can’t participate in the discussion.” “Thanks, Phil, I guess being the newest here, I’m a bit...

Loosening Up Book 8 Decade Remembered Decade StartedChapter 32 Dr Marie Thereaux

Dave did a quick change from his casual garb into shorts and a casual top in his house, and was behind the bar in less than five minutes. He shifted his thinking from working with Marie Thereaux’s students, to helping out at the bar. His co-workers that evening were Nikky and Savannah working the tables, and Chelsea, Tony, and Barry behind the bar or scooting around the patio to nearby high-top tables. Before he could take an order, Kellie and Barbara waved frantically at him, indicating...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 5 MichelleChapter 77 Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Part I

May 11, 1992, Chicago, Illinois Monday was turning out to be a LONG day. After my run and talk with Gina, and my talk with Elyse, I had a full day at the office scheduled. First was our leadership meeting in the morning, and then I had status meetings with each team. At lunch I’d gone to see Siobhán and explained that I was going to break off the sexual relationship, but that I wanted to remain friends. She was disappointed, but admitted that Thursday would have been the last time, since she...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 23 So Now You Turn Back Into Diana Prince

January 19, 1989, En-Route from LAX to ORD When the engines of the plane started, Jeri reached over and took my hand. She held it while we pushed away from the gate, and taxied for takeoff. Her grip tightened a bit as we hurtled down the runway, but nothing like the death grip she’d had on my arm for the flight out. The plane roared its way into the air and once we leveled out, Jeri’s grip loosened but she didn’t let go of my hand. “How are you doing?” I asked with a touch of...

A WellLived Life Book 7 Kara IIChapter 34 Old Routines and New Ideas

September 1982, Chicago, Illinois The weekend was quiet and besides homework, I worked on the program changes for Frank, called Karin, Tatyana, and Kara, and hung out with my usual study group. Monday was refreshingly normal. On Tuesday morning, I handed Katy my completed intake form. She put it in an envelope and stuck it in her bag. She said she’d let me know soon about the interview. On Tuesday afternoon, after having lunch with Stephie, I made my rounds and then I headed over to Sigma...

October 1982, Chicago, Illinois The drive back to Chicago was as uneventful as usual, and I arrived at the apartment just before 6:00pm. When I arrived, Elyse and Stephie were sitting on the couch and Jackie was sitting on the loveseat. Stephie hopped up as I opened the door and greeted me with a hug and a kiss. “Hi, Peaches!” I said. “Glad you’re home, Yankee!” “Hi, Steve,” Elyse and Jackie both said. “Hey,” I replied. “How was the weekend?” “Well, it was just Kurt with me, Stephie,...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 52 Lifestyle Choices

June 11, 1989, Chicago, Illinois It was just after 3:00am when I kissed Trish goodbye. She’d been an enthusiastic, energetic, and adventurous lover. We’d done just about anything either of us could think of, though her breasts weren’t large enough for a tit-fuck. The last time had been in the shower where we’d ostensibly gone to clean up afterwards, but instead I ended up taking her from behind as she leaned against the wall of the shower. “I think I’ll have you again, Steve Adams,” she...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 38 Freshman Year Ends

May 1978 The first couple of weeks in May were busy with school, work, and friends. Except for Becky, I didn’t even have any dates. But I was OK with that. Well, almost OK. I wanted to see Anna, but it likely wasn’t going to happen until school was out. I had tutoring sessions with Melanie, but she still wouldn’t talk to me about anything other than Spanish. Barely a hello. I was grateful for the tutoring, but it was maddening seeing my friend this way. I hoped someday she could understand...

A WellLived Life Book 6 Kara IChapter 44 Spring Break 1982 Part I

March, 1982, Milford, Ohio As I drove along I-65, I thought about what Stephanie had asked for and what Bethany had said without even knowing about the request. Of course, because Bethany and I were so in tune, she might have actually had an idea that I was struggling with getting involved with my sister again. I kept turning it over and over in my mind and I kept coming to the same conclusion — that I shouldn’t do it. I was torn between doing what Stephanie wanted and doing what Kara and...

You were messing with me, weren’t you?” She grabbed both my hands and smiled, “I was telling the truth, in my own way. Thank you!” She leaned forward and kissed my cheek. “So, what’s left?” I asked. “To visit UofC tomorrow and formally withdraw from classes. To spend some time with you and your...

October 1981, Chicago, Illinois I arrived back at the apartment just before 10:00pm and saw the address for the party. I decided I wasn’t particularly interested in going so I put on some music, poured myself a glass of wine, and started reading more about Russia. I was alternating between the history and culture book and the Communist Party book, decided on the history and culture book for this time. I didn’t get much reading done because I was thinking about Tatyana, which led me to...

January 23, 1996, Chicago, Illinois “Father, bless!” I said, greeting Father Basil with upturned palms. “Bless you, Stephen,” he said as I kissed his hand. The waiter showed us to a quiet table along the wall of Roditys in Greektown. He took our drink orders and was back quickly. We placed our food orders right away and he left to put them in with the kitchen. “I’m not quite sure how to address this, so I’m just going to ask you bluntly. Are you the father of Michelle’s baby?” I shook my...

June 29, 1995, Chicago, Illinois On Thursday, I finally had lunch with Melissa again, something I hadn’t been looking forward to. Much like with Cèlia, Melissa and I had passed an inflection point and I was left with sub-optimal paths forward. I’d been struggling with the possible solutions, and all of them had pitfalls. When I walked into Takumi, I had something of a plan. Whether it was good or not would only be known once everything played out. “I spoke to my wives,” I said after we’d...

March 1980, Hovås/Göteborg, Sweden I woke early as usual, but just enjoyed being in bed with Katt. A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 61 Anala Part II

August, 1983, Chicago, Illinois I walked in the near 90°F heat to Carla’s place. I was grateful that the humidity of the morning had dropped significantly; otherwise the heat would have been unbearable. By the time I walked up the steps to the apartment over the photography studio and knocked on her door, I had broken into a light sweat. Carla answered almost immediately and invited me inside her studio apartment. The air was moderately cool, and the window air conditioner was running full...
