"The Male Dom virus would stop all DNA replacement, speeding aging and sterilizing the tribes males - in a generation all other Vagran male tribes would be gone, the lo would dominate" Vagr-lo continued, "the Female Dom virus would change all Vagran females, the ki, phi and clo, into lo females - breeding stock for the male lo" Vagr-lo added with disgust.
"So they used the Dom's but the effects were not as predicted!" Jenna guessed.
"No, none were foolish enough try," replied the alien "Vagran's are an intelligent race, some times - too much so. It was declared that all stocks of both Dom strains would be sealed in the depths of the planet and details of their viral construction and geographic position destroyed. All was safe and strife free for millennia, until a rogue comet struck the planet and split the containment crust. Non-knew the deserted plain had any importance.
