Leadville, Colorado might not be much more than a small town at first glance, but it supplied everything that they needed for the moment. The summer tourist season was nearly over and the snows hadn't started to fall, bringing in skiers to this part of the Rockies, but the small pawn shop cum jeweler's was more than willing to convert a part of their loot into hard cash.

"Well, Charley, what's the easiest way to get in touch with your boss?"

"Neal Marten?" Charley cocked his head to one side, considering. "Probably at one of his company headquarters. Seattle might be the best bet. Why not your own boss?"

"I don't know just who I can trust, that's why not. There's too good a chance that some of the men from my department could be mixed up with Steve Jordan's bunch. I don't even know a single one from my office I'm sure I can trust."

"Yeah, I guess you're right. We ain't neither of us got any kind of ID we can show, so there's no way we can catch a plane to get there."

"Maybe not any that's good enough to get us on a plane, even if we could figure how to take Rowlf with us, but we do have some ID. The men from Jordan's outpost all carried theirs with them, and I picked up a couple of sets that'll fit us well enough to get by if nobody checks them out too closely."

"Smart move!" Charley grinned at him. "So, what are our new names?"

"I'm Jerry Ryan, and you're Charles Clark. Those should be close enough to our own names so we won't have too much trouble remembering them." He smiled down at Rowlf. "You won't have to wear that harness much longer, only for as long as it takes for the bus to get from here to Denver."

"I can do tha'," Rowlf agreed. "Wha' is this Denver place, and how far away is i'?"

"It's a middle-sized city," Phil answered. "There used to be about a half a million people living there, if I remember right. There are not as many any more, what with the heavy out-migration to other worlds the last few years, but there are a lot of people left there still. It's about a hundred miles from here, farther if you follow the main roads. We'll check the bus schedule, and see how long until the next one leaves. If we have enough time I want to check property records and see what I can find out about who owns the place where we came out."

The next bus to Denver wasn't scheduled to leave for another four hours, so Phil spent most of that time in the CountyCourthouse. The records weren't clear, but it looked to him like the property in question had been bought up by a large mining company some years ago. He noted the particulars, keeping them for when he might be able to make use of them.

Posing as Charley's nephew, Phil bought them both bus tickets. The clerk didn't say anything about Rowlf, accepting the Seeing Eye harnessed animal as perfectly normal.

"No, there's no problem," he told them. "We transport people with visual problems all the time. Have a nice day. You'll reach Denver in about three and a half hours."

Hidden behind dark glasses, Charley took the opportunity to doze as the bus wound its way through spectacular mountains, and Phil leafed through the files he'd brought with him while Row eagerly watched the passing scenery. By the time the bus had reached its goal in downtown Denver, he was more than ready for the next step of their journey.

"So, what do we do next?" Charley asked when they stood

outside the bus depot.

"Since we can't rent a car, and it's getting pretty

late in the day I'd say our best bet is to find a decent hotel where we can stay the night. By the time that's taken care of, I sure we'll all be ready for a good meal." Re flagged down a taxi, and the driver was more than willing to recommend a medium priced hotel close to the center of town.

Again, there was no trouble over Rowlf's presence. Once they were settled in their room, Phil ordered food and a local paper from room service rather than taking the chance of going to a restaurant.

"Whatcha checking in the paper?" Charley peered over at the newspaper Phil was hunting through as he ate.

"Used car ads. I'm looking for a private seller who

has something we can use, and afford," he added wryly. "Our cash won't last us forever. Ah, here's one that sounds good."

Wolf took a part time job as a stripper at a gay club...damn! he sure filled up the G-string whereby most nights his cock wasn't in it!.....I took a job at a fast food joint with a hot looking manager, Angelo. He had the sweetest bubble butt. I fantasized about him while in classes during the day. I think he's bi-curious even though he brags about the pussies he has conquered....

Wolf Mountain Found Gurl

Wolf Mountain, Found Gurl By: Melody Anne Layla Pearson hadn't seen home in years, not since that summer day at thirteen when she was taken away to the private school. Or rather when Lyle had been banished because he wasn't what his father expected of his son. They called it a private school, in reality it was a mental hospital where rich parents sent their children when they didn't want to deal with their problems. The Wilder Institute had...

Wolf Creek Ch 20

Ada’s return to the Wolf Creek Ranch for the duration of the war years was a period of fantasy isolation from the world gone mad around them punctuated by shocking reminders that they were part of that world. Beth proved to be a real delight for Ada—the daughter she had always wanted but that the Spanish flu had ripped out of her arms. Ada didn’t know how she ever could have gotten the notion she’d had that being the daughter of a Hollywood movie star would make Beth’s adjustment to life in...

Wolf Creek Ch 08

Ada had grown into a strong, independent woman, spurred by having lost nearly everything, including her husband and two of her children, at a relatively young age. But she also had a weakness for men, a weakness that she fought, but never nearly enough if she didn’t want to lose the fight. She was willing to admit to herself, though, that part of being strong and independent and not controlled by social mores on what a woman’s place was considered to be in the early twentieth century was to...

I admit there were tears in my eyes as everything I had thought so powerful, so eternal, so beyond the reach of others, was reduced to nothing more than a huge bonfire obscuring the morning sun with its smoke of destruction. My tears fell, and I mouthed words of rage and defiance that were utterly impotent. The great city of Maurur was no more. My parents, my brothers, and sisters were no more. My friends, my lover Monah, all gone. The Knights of the Wolf were no more. We had all been...

Wolf Creek Ch 12

At his own request, Frank Wolf was cremated, and Ada and Frank’s surviving son, Jess, took the ashes up to the glade of the upper fork of Wolf Creek, where he and Ada had been married and, together, they scattered the ashes. Jess was a perfect gentleman, which Ada found quite surprising. But Frank had told Ada some time earlier that Festus’s death had sobered and mellowed Jess considerably, and, by all evidence, Jess’s father’s death had completed that process. Ada had thought it only right to...

WOLF PEOPLE Part 1

Back in the heraldic days of the Earth there were numerous creatures that are mostly seen as legends or folklore now. Most legends had a logical origin, but man kind is cruel, jealous and tends to destroy what it doesn,t understand. Back in those heady days there were still a few dragons, but they were endangered now man had devised stronger more deadly weapons. There were almost as many faeries and goblins and magic creatures, but again mankind either destroyed them outright or their habitat...

Estelle Hopewell proved to be Ada’s saving angel—and far more than in their intimate moments, of which there were many in the ensuing years. Estelle immediately fell in love with the hidden Colorado valley of Wolf Creek, and she virtually moved in with Ada and Frank in the Wolf Creek Ranch main ranch house. Frank never really took to her, but he tolerated her for Ada’s sake. Estelle was visited in turn by her adventuring husband, who one day looked in the passenger seat of the RC-38US Douglas...

Wolf Creek Ch 11

Ada Albin Raven and Frank Wolf were married on a beautiful, clear and crisp, spring morning in 1927 in the glade by the cascading eastern arm of Wolf Creek about midway between Brook House and Hagen’s Saw Mill in the lower reaches of Hahn’s Peak. Ada had wanted to be married in the open air of the Rocky Mountains, and she could think of no more beautiful spot than the one where she and Pete Fair had met and made love. She meant no disrespect for her new husband, but her afternoons spent...

The atmosphere in the Manchester Walker mansion was so cold and austere—and judgmental—that Ada could feel herself drying up and withering away from the inside. But this is exactly what she wanted, if she had known how to enter a convent, she would have done so. She wanted this cancer of sensuality inside her to be lanced and to flow away. The Walker sisters were more than willing to oblige her. That sat stonily, day after day, in their drafty drawing room overlooking the sluggish Merrimack...

Wolf 1 the BeginningChapter 7

During those three months, we often discussed what we would do when the people showed up from Earth to claim the ogre spaceship. We discussed our alternatives when that happened, and we agreed that we would surrender the ogre spaceship without argument. Our real problem was what to do when they ordered us to return to Earth. We were more than happy with our current living arrangements, and had no wish to change them. Our conversations finally resolved themselves into a decision to declare...

"But, Phil! They might have killed you," Audrey protested, leaning back against the door of the side passage where they'd been temporarily housed. "I couldn't just go off and leave you locked up back there." "Keep your voice down," he whispered, leaning close so that she could hear. "Your Mr. Jordan could have this place bugged. Wolf 1 the BeginningChapter 9

The Earth cruiser had been gone about two weeks when we had another visit from the ogres. Apparently, their intent was to keep their technology out of the hands of the humans. It was a good thing that we had no further use for the base nor for the ogre spaceship, because the ogres had sent four ships to wipe out all traces of the ship and the humans. We watched in amazement as the ogres obliterated both the base and the grounded spaceship. That was a wakeup call for us to get off our duff...

Wolf and Pig

Andrew stretched out lazily on a grassy hill staring up at the beautiful blue sky. His eyes were focused entirely on a single wispy white cloud that seemed abnormally determined to get some place. Andrew wasn’t sure why but he’d imagined it as a wolf and that bush up on the mountain was a fat little pig. As far away as it was that pig had to be a couple of trees instead of a bush. That didn’t make it look any less like a fat pig waiting for the ravenous wolf to come and devour it. He’d been...

Wolf of Wall Street

After a while, I decided that I had been teased long enough and was ready for some different " entertainment." We got up and headed down the hallway to the master bedroom. Landon stood in the room near the bed, I pulled her over to stand in front of me. Then without a word, I started running my hands up and down her body over her dress, freely fondling her breasts as I wanted. Then I peeled the dress off of her, running my hands up and down her naked body, again freely fondling her breasts....

Wolf of the night Pt1

Introduction: This is my first story that I have wrote & published. I hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed writing it. The leaves rustled softly as I crept through the night, I could smell their decay as I drew in a breath to track the woman that had been through here only minutes ago. Her vanilla scented lotion hung in the air, bouncing off the sensitive hairs on the tip of my nose. I had been keeping tabs on this specific woman for weeks now. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening she took...

He had never had social contact with one of his professors before, and really didn't know what to expect. He was surprised when Mrs. Wells opened the door. It seemed to me that the best time to hit the ogres was right now while they were still reeling from our last attack. With that in mind, all four of us loaded up with drums of shells loaded with straight buckshot. That was less likely to make a serious mess of something valuable during fighting aboard the spaceship. We were naked except for the harness to carry the extra drums of ammunition as we hurried back to strike at the ogres. We did not need canteens of water because we only drank...

As pleasant as it was visiting the Arlo, it was time for us to move on. We discussed possible directions of travel with Ooru, and he suggested that we travel to the east (spinward) because there were several sections there where the gravity had seemed to have gone awry. We were curious as to what changes had taken place in the flora and fauna because of this, so we were anxious to take a look. We planned to travel by scooter and to have AI move the fighters as necessary for logistical...

The day started… Lukah and Jessie had decided to chill and hang around the house, on their first day off together in several days. After all, the weather report was calling for rain. The day started off as any lazy, rainy day. A small brunch, catching up on household chores and of course cuddling in front of the TV. As the...

The Cross She Bore

Memories are sometimes not to be trusted. In looking back on the past, what one believes to be a memory is in actuality what one prefers to think the past was like. We do this unintentionally -- whether as a defensive mechanism or the result of the layering of visions of the past, one on top of another, until the distant past is obscured. For Rebecca her fascination with the cross and with the practice of crucifixion seemed in retrospect to have been acquired at an early age. Now as a single...

Not Quite a White Knight Book 1Chapter 10The XCross

Bondage and sex machines usually take a lot of time and co-operation to set up. But that is not my style, so my machines were selected for me to use alone with a guest, and quickly. I led Gracie to the machine I decided to use next. The cross is a standard in many playrooms, but usually these require three strong people working together to use effectively, and they often injure somebody getting the occupant into position. Plus they never do what you expect. A lot of risk for not much...

Cross

Darren closed his eyes and rested his head in his hands for the umpteenth time that day. How could he have been so stupid? He’d always been the careful one out of every crowd he’d been involved with. Coming from a dirt poor background, he knew the smallest thing would mar his reputation and he would be screwed for the rest of his life. His whole life, he had been a straight A student. Before graduating high school a month ago, his scholarship at Princeton had already been confirmed. One night...

Two city girls visit the country

I'd met my new friend Tessa under circumstances that were, to say the least, strange. We had both been masturbating in the Ladies room at University and ended up trading panties. So far so weird, but Tessa had gone to a lot of trouble to find out where I lived, and when she came round to my flat it wasn't long before we were rolling around in the bed like women possessed. Now Tessa has an uncle who owns a mixed dairy and arable farm in the Lowlands, and she suggested that she and I go down...

Cross Burning For Dummies

To “Hardcore” Hardaway’s way of thinking, the three snot-nosed young farts standing just inside the door to his cluttered work shed didn’t look good for much, most of all a Klan job.At first, they’d tried to act cocky, like this wasn’t no big deal. But none of ‘em said a word after seeing the cross he’d put together that afternoon. Now he was back out here trying to teach these whelps a thing or two while the half-finished can of beer he’d left inside went flat. Why in hell did Jack Tidwell, who...

Karl to Kayla Cross Your Heart

This is my first attempt at this so, please be kind with your reviews. Email your comments to me at '[email protected]' Karl to Kayla - "Cross Your Heart" By Kayla Eastcock Eatscock My name is, or should I say 'was' Karl Eastman and it all began one evening while I was at work. The Priest Teaches His FlockChapter 10 Sally Rides the Cross

Father John hadn't even said hello to Sally. Pulling her along the corridor again, Sally knowing that they were going back into the basement again. She shuddered when she saw the cross. It was huge, standing over eight feet high, four feet wide, made out of heavy wood. It was a little strange for a cross, it looked like it was upside down, the cross piece lower down the upright, not near the top like a normal cross. At least the altar was gone, but she feared the cross, not sure what it...

Crossover

Crossover Janet L. Stickney [email protected] There was never any doubt that I was going to be a girl someday. I mean, from early on I would wear pale lipstick and eyeliner with my hair usually braided. Then came the Crossover week and I was able to dress like a girl from the skin out, complete with hips and boobs. My father was a drunk that never cared what I did, and my mom was long gone so how I dressed was never an issue. I work at a small shop that makes and repairs video...
