When Elise and I woke up in the morning, we felt that everything seemed much too quiet for six people to be living here. We were right. Stuck to the netting of the main cave, our notice board as it were, was a brief message telling us that Wilbur, Sabreena, Alfred and Lexa had gone back already to let us do the healing and whatever else we felt like doing in privacy.

"Thank you both for a splendid time. Let us know when you are back home. We will meet again. Soon."

Signed with lots of crosses. Lexa's doing I presumed.

"Are you sure, Berthold? This might just be one of Wilbur's parting jests."

No matter, really. We would enjoy our undisturbed time here — and missed them already.

"Elise, we could do your healing today. It is early enough for that, and we haven't yet eaten. Would you like that?"

However, she would not be rushed. She wanted to have a quiet day at the island, do some walking, swim bay or lake, more exploring, go to bed early and be ready in the morning, allowing that she felt strong misgivings once more.

"Lexa told me she isn't ready for the healing either, claiming that to her it looked like you chaps were interfering with God's work. Even though I don't follow her line of thought all the way, there is a lot of truth in it. Aren't you scared? Was Alfred?"

Thinking back to our healings I realised what was different.

"Elise, the shape we were in, the utter urgency in Alfred's case, made our healing a necessity besides which everything else became irrelevant. It was even worse for Alfred, though, because he knew exactly what lay ahead of him whereas I was new to the game and just had to take it as well as I could. It should not be all that painful for you. I think your healing will be more along the lines of Wilbur's tour. Some pain, sure, but nothing excessive. Our jokes notwithstanding, we do take this business very serious. Alfred has taught me well to check everything closely and I will certainly do a complete scan first. Tomorrow I will be your doctor first and you must trust me with that."

Elise sighed deeply and went off at a different tack altogether.

"What are you going to do about Lexa?"

"What about Lexa? Alfred will heal her in good time, if it is necessary at all."

"I don't mean that, silly. It should be obvious even to you that she sees more in you than just a friend..."

"Wait, who is being silly now? The two of them are so much in sync, love if you insist, that any thought along those lines is ridiculous. They are made for each other. Don't you see it?"

"Of course I see it, but you obviously don't. She is still very insecure and she is looking towards you as a father figure, that much became clear last night in the way she spoke up for you. I think she is very much overwhelmed, by this 'adventure' as much as by the personae Alfred and Wilbur. Combined, they do have this effect, don't you agree?"

"Again, Elise, there is not the slightest trace of malice in either of them. She will soon be at ease. And Alfred will spend a lot of time here with her. And be very gentle with it. If you are right, then I will just have to play it by ear. Maybe a few more evenings together, nothing so hectic and ribald as yesterday, will be all that is needed. Come, let's kick off into the day."

We loaded our packs, including the health potions of course, and went downhill. The day was clear with only a few scattered clouds. Elise did want a slight breeze — so she got that and the walk turned out to be very pleasant indeed. Again she marvelled at how well everything was thought out. I had to give all credits to Alfred, telling her that I had a very hard time in finding out what he was up to.

"It's this confounded 'social skills' business. If he had taken the time to tell me a little bit more about it before we started, we could have accomplished things much quicker and smoother. Mind you, I am not sure I would have believed him. Only when healing him I really became aware of his bleak future. He was well entitled to kick my butt into gear.

"But look over there. His ostriches. They fit in very well. I think they are breeding already, so let's not get too close. He was right to worry about a sound ecology. This micro-cosmos took a lot of hard thinking. Yet he did very well with everything."

While we explored almost every nook and cranny we took time out to watch the eagles soar and glide and sat for a long time just looking out over the endless sea on the cliffs in the south of the island.

"Berthold, don't you ever feel spooked here? How much more lonesome could one get? There is never a ship to be seen, no boats, no airplanes to be heard. I don't think I would be able to live here on my own for any length of time. A few hours of it would be too much already. And yesterday, when we were all together, the time was so intense that I was just as overwhelmed as Lexa must have been. I enjoyed all your antics, the pranks you played on each other but felt at the same time that only here could we get away with it. So is this world unreal? Or is it 'our' world which is too restricted and trivial at the same time? Am I losing my mind over this? Do I need the healing or will it drive me over the edge? Berthold, I am scared as I have never been before. You must have patience with me, please."

What could I say to that? This wasn't the time for silly jokes about some silly doctor nor could I tell her about my own misgivings earlier on. I would be gentle on her, help her through it as well as I could, at the same time wishing that Alfred could take this task from me.

"Let me catch a fish or two, Elise. We need some lunch. Afterwards, we will read a bit or laze the day away at the waterfall. You will find the sounds of the water soothing, the silence less oppressive."

Since I had proven my mettle as fisherman before I was full of confidence. Yet it was Elise who caught our food while I struggled with tangled lines and managed to stick hooks in most of my clumsy fingers. At least my ham-fistedness managed to lift her depression. And her thought of me making like a chef and what I did to the fish had her in stitches.

"Don't worry, Berthold. I will do the cooking, but you may serve me a glass of wine. On this island it seems to be drinks time all the time, doesn't it?"

Morning came finally after a long night of unrest and much tossing and heaving. Out of sympathy I forsook breakfast as well, just having a cup of coffee to start me. As an afterthought I prepared 'my' special drink for Elise.

"Look, dear, we don't rightly know what to expect. But this drink helped Wilbur through and calmed him down pretty well. Have a couple of sips now."

Elise gave me a weak smile.

"Drinks so early in the morning? If you insist."

With what I made look like routine I set up and booted the computer and had her put on the harness.

"Don't worry, it's unisex. One size fits all. Come now, love, let's do it. You won't regret it."

First of all I stuck on all the electrodes to make a complete scan of her body. No great surprises there, thank God, nothing especially nasty. To be sure, many things needed to be taken care of, high blood pressure, a minor malfunctioning of the gall bladder, quite a few varicose veins as she shared my weak connective tissues. Would it ever become necessary to heal our children too, I wondered? Hereditable diseases most likely. Damn.

I disconnected the scanner, happy in the knowledge that healing would not be the torture Alfred and I had had to endure.

"Right, dear, this is what we are up against. Nothing serious and nothing you didn't know about, except the gall bladder, since you took medication for all of this. Back home, we will trash our entire medicine cabinet. Shall we?"

Elise swallowed heavily and let me lead her towards the pond, the harness quite snug around her and fastened securely to my wrists too.

"One step at a time, now. Or stop for a while whenever you need to. We have all the time in the world."

Bravely she stepped into the water — and stopped short immediately, her face twisted into a gargoyle-like grimace. I knew of course that this was to be expected.

"Some arthritis here, soon to be gone. Hold yourself tough, dear."

The look of relief on her face was unmistakable. She shook her head and took another step just as I realised that I had forgotten to prepare her in the second pool. Damn, too late for it now. I did hold her back though, slowing her down as much as possible and at the same time warning her of what came up on my screen.

"Varicose veins. Shouldn't be too bad. Go slowly."

One more step, and another. Deeper still.

"Hold a while. Have another drink. Your female parts need some fixing."

Elise did very well and I told her so. Soon she nodded to me. We could go on.

"Some harmless polyps in your intestines. — Good, very good. They are gone."

My talking her through it seemed to help her a lot, even though I couldn't take the pain away from her. But she appeared to get stronger and more confident as we went along.

GIGOLO FOR LADY ELISE

I arrive a little early and right on the appointed time a knockout looking impeccably groomed woman strides very confidently across the foyer. Sun tanned brunette, sixty-six inches tall, voluptuous size 12-14, high heels, black silk blouse, wearing the tightest white slacks I have ever seen which highlight her brilliant thighs and ass; poetry in motion I muse. “You must be Jon, you come highly recommended. We are leaving for London tomorrow and I have never had sex in this country, so I want...

“Hi, I'm Elise! I'll be your server tonight. Do you know what you'll be having, or would you like to hear the specials this evening?”“I think we're ready to order,” says Carrie, her brunette hair framing her face perfectly, and bringing attention to her wide smile and hazel eyes.Elise takes Carrie's order first, then her cousin Melinda's, and finally, their friend David's, before turning to another table. As she walks away, Carrie and Melinda notice that David can't stop staring at Elise, and...

Elise

Everyone in this story is over eighteen. It is far and away my most ambitious work to date, tracing the metamorphosis of a young married woman from being a downtrodden wife, through a chance encounter, eventually into a spiral leading her into a world she had never dreamt of. I hope someone bothers to read it. My story begins in the following way, but that is really only a ‘preface.’ ‘Where’s my dinner then?’ was my greeting when Gerry, my husband of some eight years, walked in from work,...

For Elise

For Elise. "You know," I said. "you were my first." Lexia was silent. Maybe it was too soon for such intimacy; I'd been such a complete bitch. Like old times she was painting my toenails in my bedroom. In this new world I had already done hers, after some gentle persuasion. First, fascinated, searching for my Alex, I'd watched Lexia reach under her skirt to skim off her tights. With braided hair, mascara and subtle lipstick, my ex-boyfriend was self-consciously feminine. The...

Riordan and Elise

Riordan and Elise Riordan and Elise "I would like a woman to love me," Riordan mused, between sips of his drink. His friends could tell by the glaze in his eyes that he was tipsy. It didn't stop them from pouring him more wine. "You've taken them all to bed," Andrew said, stoically, "and they aren't impressed." Riordan only looked into his cup and sloshed the fluid around a little. "I'm tired of women." "Perhaps you should try men," Ernest suggested, slyly nudging at his young...

The Hitchhiker Elise

It had been one of my longer hauls - Denver to Seattle to Los Angeles to St. Louis and the back to Denver. I had stopped at the Flying J Travel Plaza in Salina, Kansas for food and fuel and I was browsing the aisles in the convenience store when I noticed a stunning brunette standing at the bank of pay phones. What intrigued me was the way that she was dressed - mini-skirt and 'come fuck me' high heels. Not the normal attire you see in a truck stop unless the lady is a hooker. But this woman...

Sing a Healing Song

Sing a Healing Song Chapter 1 It all started with a trip to Ireland. Well, not "all". You could say some of it started the day I was born, and named Matthew D'Arcy, the only son of Mark D'Arcy, a football player, and his wife Annette. And maybe some of it started later that same day when Annette died from complications of giving birth to me. I was always a sickly kid, and my dad eventually gave up football so he could look after me better, and I have never doubted his love...

Caleb 28 Healing

I was assaulted by a wealth of sights, sounds and smells. The sudden mayhem was overwhelming. I was at a wedding, in India. Everywhere there were bright colors, flowers, and people dressed in formal attire. There was a lot of red. I knew it wasn’t my wedding - or rather that it wasn’t Jeevan’s, whose memories I was experiencing. In it, he was about ten years old. Why this was a memory he didn’t want me to see became apparent when I saw he had continuously stuffed his face throughout the entire...

Second Time Through Book IIChapter 51 Healing

Sunday, June 20, 1971 I was alone. That in itself was unusual considering how my life had changed in the five weeks since I awoke from killing myself. I was still lying in Ileana's berth, in the Guest Wing of the train. The first thing I noticed was the quiet. Too quiet. I scanned and found that the only other person on the train was Karla. I lifted my left wrist to look at the time. "Damn! I hate not having my watch!" I thought to myself. "Good morning, sleepy head!" Vickie giggled....

The next morning we were all sitting around the breakfast table. Maggie and Frank were sitting with me, while Donald and Gill were fussing in the kitchen with breakfast dishes. Frank brought up the issue of testing my abilities again. “You know, it’s time to think about what other abilities you have, apart from your powers to heal and that incredible orgy of pleasure that you triggered.” He said. “Have you tried to do anything that could be used as a defensive or offensive weapon? Sexual Healing

I pulled the last dregs of energy from the bottom of my weary soul and forced it out through my hands. They warmed against the chest of the frail, nameless child who was writhing in the grips of a fever dream. The miasma of sickness and darkening auras from dozens of stricken Normies overpowered the flickering fluorescent lights in the repurposed building. I had no idea exactly how many were laying on cots in the crowded room. Their faces and names had all blurred together after hours of energy...

There and BackChapter 66 Healing Process

I headed back out after a few more minutes of idle chatter, happy with how things were going with Anders. He wasn't quite as angry or bitter as he was in DA2, but he was different than he seemed in Awakenings, too, even though he'd just come from the dungeon. Not that I expected him to suddenly love templars and be a devout Andrastian, but it was nice that he wasn't too bitter. When I thought about it, I was lucky with all of my companions. Shale had considerably mellowed towards me,...

MasterbuilderChapter 3 The Healing

Again I was up very early, beating even Alfred to the clock. Fearing how messy things might get with what he had in store for me, I took great care with ablutions, had a long soak in the pond and gave my remaining teeth a gum-bleeding workout. Remembering what Alfred said about my cigarettes, I decided to have a last smoke or two. I went down to the waterfall and here, sitting under my now favourite tree, blowing spirals of blue, listening to the soft sounds of water tumbling down, I found...

As my young brunette girlfriend made her way to Tempe and Tina’s Jill & Jill co-joining bathroom, I scanned her now seriously slender body. Claudias Condition the HealingChapter 28

John drove nervously excited towards Jackie’s home. The loud rumble of his Mustang’s exhaust always announced his approach, especially around tall buildings. He didn’t have a reputation as a speeder but the growl of the exhaust, matched to the car style and colour always gave the Police the anticipation of a high-speed chase. He followed Jackie’s directions and turned into the driveway of her rural setting home. John recognized her mother’s blue Monaco and noticed several more old cars...

It is more a source of shame, something I cannot tell my friends and family about. Amity 4 The HerdsChapter 33 Healing

After the fun of entering the Palace compound, we arrived at a courtyard and dismounted. We were then shown through umpteen dozen hallways and rooms, each gaudier than the last, to get to a waiting room. As we walked, I wondered if the King was related to Higgins. He had the same horrible taste in decorations. John and Tony left us in a little alcove to wait. We settled in, as I didn’t expect to be received in any hurry. I was glad we’d had something to eat before we were interrupted. I did...

Claudia and Dan sat in the physiatrist’s office waiting for her next meeting with Dr. Phillips. It had been five weeks since she and the others had been rescued, and her therapy for symptoms of PTSD was progressing well. They were long and slender and delicate and feminine, wearing rings and bracelets, the fingers tipped with sparkly purple fingernail polish. These weren't the hands I was familiar with. They weren't the rough and strong and calloused hands I'd been so dependent on; they were weak and soft and smooth and small and useless...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 7 SakurakoChapter 14 Healing

November 12, 1993, Chicago, Illinois “I suppose we do need to start somewhere,” I said. “I’m just not sure that’s the right place.” “But it’s something we can all accept, right now,” Jessica said. “I’ll live here, and promise to talk to both of you each day, and to be honest with you about how I’m feeling and what’s going on at work.” “It’s not perfect,” I said, “but I’m not sure I have a better solution given everything you said. What do you think, Kara?” “I think it will be good for the...

All the Wrong PlacesChapter 2 The Healing

If you had mental abilities it wasn't like a smorgasbord or cafeteria, or even the extreme specialization like the old stories suggested. If you had 'talent' then you were pretty much guaranteed a set of 'core services'--TK, or manipulating matter at a distance was the central ability. From there came the ability to heat or cool matter, cut matter, move matter and rotate matter. It was usually joined with sight at a distance. Once you got the rotation thing down and you could 'see' the...

Claudias Condition the HealingChapter 23

Friends and co-workers had politely kept their distance from Claudia during her weeks of healing. Tessa was a concerned boss and friend and began to make weekly calls to her. They’d talk about how she was feeling improvement and the effect her absence at work was having on the others. Tessa mentioned that Paula seemed especially upset about what happened to her and missed her so much. She knew they were good friends at work and Claudia was certain hers and Paula’s love relationship was still...

Healing Across Time

‘Ever wondered who you were before?’ ‘Were before?’ Claire was puzzled. She looked up at her friend, Louise, who was sitting on the sofa reading a magazine. ‘Your past lives,’ Louise explained. ‘Caroline Rattenbury is offering a past life regression workshop in Netherbury Farm buildings next Tuesday night. Do you want to go?’ ‘Are you going?’ ‘I’d like to. I took one of Caroline’s shamanic soul retrieval workshops last year. She was good. What do you think?’ Claire stroked the grey cat on...

Loves Healing Touch

Loves healing touch By Rachel Saunders Sam's heart rate went through the roof. His pulse raced as he watched the ground race up before him. Now this was what he called 'alive'. The thud of the afterburners kicked in, and his body tensed as almost 7 G's pushed him back into his seat. "Griffin 1 to Griffin leader - you are one crazy son of a bitch sir". Sam smiled. The altimeter indicated that he had stopped merely 20 metres above the ground. The lowest...

Claudias Condition the HealingChapter 43

“I have to ask you this. Claudia told me about your marriage lifestyle and her Condition. You’re okay with other men fucking her?” “Yes, I am. At first, I was a little jealous, of other men fucking her, or her giving them blow jobs. I guess that’s natural. It was awkward to hear other men making her cum and seeing her swallowing their cum after a blow job. Now feel I proud of her because she’s mine and after all our loving it’s our bed she sleeps in.” “She basically said the same thing to...

Claudias Condition the HealingChapter 46

Claudia wanted to prepare for Wednesday, so as Dan fucked her pussy she had Mel fuck her ass with the dildo. She told Dan not to cum, saving it for later. The front doorbell chimed announcing the expected guests. “I’ll get it!” Allison yelled. She opened the door and was greeted by a blonde man, woman, and teenage boy all well tanned. “Hi, you must be Allison,” the woman smiled, offering a hand. “I’m Karen Winslow and this is my husband, James, and our son, Ryan. You certainly do look like...

Healing HandsChapter 8

The next morning, we were around the breakfast table again. Trish had stayed the night, and was sitting with us, cup of tea in hand and a look of peace on her face. “How are you feeling today?” I asked. “You have no idea! I can’t remember a time in my life when I ever felt this amazing!” Trish replied, her voice tinged with awe and wonder. “You know, you really caused a stir the other day at the clinic.” “Really? How so?” I replied. “People heard the commotion, and then suddenly you burst...

Healing HandsEpilogue

The problem with supernatural healing is that it doesn’t take long for people to realise that you may hold the key to curing their terminal disease and relieving their suffering. We were forced to move from our refuge because the sheer volume of people who came threatened to overwhelm us all. Desperate people didn’t care that you were exhausted. Privileged people expected you to jump at their whim. Rich people demanded you perform for them, as if money was the only motivating factor. One...

A New BeginningChapter 15 Healing Mom Samrsquos Justice Sylvan Gets a Surprise My Bond Daughters

As she turned and walked away my parents started laughing. I had not even heard them approach when the class ended. I grinned and looked at them, “getting used to the place?” My dad nodded looking around, “it takes getting used to but I think I like it. I am going to miss my practice though. I had a lot of people that worked with me that were friends.” I looked at them, “sorry you came?” My mother stepped close, “no Michael. This place is different and we will make new friends. You...

Emotional Healing

Sue had tried to prepare herself for the trip to California as best as possible, especially emotionally. She had packed the night before, and now she waited expectantly for the taxi to arrive as the early morning sun started to rise. This was her first trip on her own in over a year. She had an 8am flight from Syracuse to Chicago, with a brief lay over there, and then straight on to LA. Soon, she would be in Malibu and at Tom’s new beach house later that afternoon. She would be with John’s...

Gypsy Healing

Gypsy Healing A Short Story By Maryanne Peters "Before I answer your question, I must tell you that I am not a religious person, and I do not believe in miracles," said Dr Solander. "But spontaneous remission is a fact. It does happen. It happens rarely, but it does happen. Even without treatment, cancers can disappear." "But that is exactly what I am asking," said Emmet. "How can it happen? Can there be some external influence? I am like you - not at all religious. I am...

The alarm clock on the nightstand went from silence to rock music announcing 4 pm. The family trio took a quick shower together, then dressed awaiting Melissa and Savon. Journey to EdenChapter 12 Healing

Jord lay in agony under the healer’s care. Jona had bathed him in an herb infusion thought to reduce the pain and the swelling, but healing had been slow. Now she suffered with him, literally feeling his pain as she tried to help him bear it. She tended to her other duties mechanically, depending on her daughter and others in the village to make preparations for the coming winter. All were willing to help, none held back, as they saw the pain of their co-leaders. Seth and Leana, with Tia,...
