October 7, 2000, Chicago, Illinois

“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” I asked. “What if they come home?”

Actually, I wasn’t sure it was a good idea even IF they didn’t come home. I’d reluctantly agreed to the threesome because Cynthia had really wanted to do it. But that seemed out of the question, especially because I had decided, for sure, to ask Kelly to be my girlfriend after the dance on Friday. It wasn’t that there was anything wrong with Libby. In fact, I had been very disappointed that we didn’t get to have sex the previous weekend because of Cynthia’s grandmother.

“Your moms are home, so it’s not like we could go to your house.”

I laughed, “Actually, they wouldn’t be upset.”

“Seriously?”

“Seriously. They’d probably be concerned about you, because of the meeting with your parents, but they wouldn’t object to me bringing a girl home for sex.”

“Wow! But do you think they would tell my parents?”

I shook my head, “No, but they’d probably have a talk with me about making good decisions. They’d be worried what might happen if your parents found out.”

“How would they find out? If you don’t tell and I don’t tell and your moms don’t tell, there’s no way they could know!”

“You mean just like Cynthia saying there was no risk in being at her house?”

“She meant for her parents coming home!”

“Yes, she did. And they didn’t. And we STILL got caught! That’s what I’m trying to point out - even if you think you won’t get caught, you can!”

I had to stop myself from laughing out loud because I knew I was sounding just like Mom Two after my hockey game when I’d done something because I was sure I wouldn’t be caught. I had been caught, but by one of the coaches, not the referee. It was just too funny that I was making HER point now, in a different situation.

“Don’t you want to do it with me?” Libby asked.

“Wanting to do something doesn’t always mean you should do it,” I replied. “We barely know each other.”

“But last Saturday?”

“I was doing that for Cynthia. It’s pretty obvious she wanted to be with you, too. Can I ask about that?”

“I like boys and girls,” Libby said. “I’ve kissed boys and girls and I like both. You weren’t the first one I touched, though you were the first one I had in my mouth! I always wanted to do what we did to Cynthia, but none of the girls I’ve kissed wanted to have sex.”

“So you’re bi?”

“I guess that’s what you would call it, yes.”

“What about Cynthia?”

“She said she’d be willing to do stuff like that if we had a threesome.”

I got the feeling that things hadn’t developed quite the way Cynthia had said, and I wanted to find out the truth, if I could.

“She told you about her and me, right?” I asked.

“Yes. And said she wanted to have a threesome. I wasn’t sure, but when she promised to do everything with me, too, I agreed because I wanted to have sex with a girl AND a guy and see which I liked best.”

“So if she had said ‘no’?” I asked.

“Then it wouldn’t have happened.”

“You didn’t ask her to have a threesome?”

“No! She asked ME because she knew I liked boys and girls.”

“Then why are you asking me now?”

Libby laughed, “Because after last Saturday, I want to do it with you and see what it’s like! Your dick is really nice and I think it would feel really good inside me! You have experience and I’m sure you can make me cum! I’m sure I can find a girl to have sex with later. I want to, and I want to do it today, because I know you’re probably going to go steady with Kelly. We can be friends, too. I don’t mean like you and Cynthia, but I think you’ll be a good friend for me because of your moms.”

“We can be friends without doing it,” I said.

“Duh!” Libby laughed. “But I want to! You know how to lick a girl, obviously, since you taught me! I want to feel that, too! Seriously, Jesse, I want to be your friend, no matter what. But I also want you to be my first!”

She stopped walking and after a step, I stopped and turned.

“Is there something wrong with me?” she asked.

I shook my head, “No, there’s nothing wrong with you.”

“But I thought guys always wanted to have sex!”

“Oh, they do,” I agreed with a grin, “but remember what I said about the difference between wanting to do something and whether or not you should do it?”

“Sure. What’s bugging you? Getting caught?”

“That’s a small part of it, but it’s more about not wanting to be ... no, sorry, I can’t actually discuss that.”

“Discuss what?”

I sighed, “Let’s just say I’m trying to figure out when I should and when I shouldn’t have sex, and who I should, and who I shouldn’t, have sex with.”

“This is about Francesca, isn’t it?”

I shook my head, “Not really. I mean, I was really upset about that, but that’s not why I feel the way I do.”

“OK, and tell me to mind my own business if you need to, but we all assume you and Francesca did it. I know you did it with Cynthia because she told me, and she described EXACTLY how big you were and what it looked like. So you were with your girlfriend, and one other girl. That’s not crazy, unless you were with other girls, too.”

Dad always said that having one girl to talk to, who you could really bare your soul with, was important. Who that had been had changed during his life, though it was usually Bethany or Elyse. Now I thought it was going to be his new girl, Suzanne. I wondered if maybe Libby could be like that for me. I didn’t know her that well yet, but I had a good feeling about her, and her parents seemed reasonably sane, even if they weren’t as open-minded as my moms, my dad, and the parents of most of my ‘cousins’.

“If I share stuff with you,” I said carefully, “you have to promise to never, ever tell anyone, no matter what, and I would promise the same. We’d have to always keep each other’s secrets, no matter what.”

“The price?” Libby asked with a smirk.

“Of being my close friend!” I chuckled. “The other thing you want I’m still thinking about.”

“Best friends?” she asked.

I nodded, “If we shared everything, that would make us best friends. But the promise is a promise no matter what happens. But there’s one condition - you have to like science fiction!”

Libby laughed, “It’s OK, but I draw the line at playing video games! And I promise. I need someone to talk to who understands me without thinking I’m weird.”

I laughed, “No video games. And you ARE weird, but weird is good! It would be boring if everyone was the same!”

“And you?”

“Even weirder!” I laughed. “Who else do you know who has two moms and a dad who has two wives at the same time?”

“And whose parents would let him have sex in his own bed!”

“On my birthday,” I said with a smirk. “And she was thirty-four!”

“NO WAY!” Libby gasped. “Your moms were OK with that?”

“They let her spend the whole night,” I grinned.

“Whoa! And you were with Francesca? Like we all thought?”

“Yes,” I replied. “And Cynthia, obviously.”

“Obviously! I’ve kissed three girls and one boy besides you. Before Saturday, I had felt one of the girl’s boobs under her shirt, but the other two were just kissing. And the guy - I had my hand in his jeans when he was feeling my boobs. Ellen, Shar, Cynthia, and Freddy.”

“When did you figure out you liked both boys and girls?”

“Last year. I was at a party and we played ‘Truth or Dare’ and I kissed both Ellen and Freddy. I liked kissing both of them.”

“Is that where you did the other stuff?”

“Yep. Shar wasn’t at that party, but she heard about it, and she likes girls, so we hung out, but she never wanted to go beyond kissing. When did your moms figure it out?”

“For Mom One, it was in college. She’s my biological mom. For Mom Two, it was in High School, but she’s bi, like you are.”

“Wait! Your biological mom is a lesbian? How?”

I laughed, “There is nothing normal about ANYTHING in my dad’s life! He and Mom One dated in High School, but they both say it was nightmarish because they were in love but she was a lesbian and trying to deny it. Mom One met Mom Two at Stanford, and they decided to get married. The last time Mom One and Dad had sex was to make me. Mom Two was there, also.”

“But your other mom likes boys, too, right?”

“Yes, but she promised Mom One to never be with anyone else, and Mom One made the same promise. My dad is a whole different story!”

“Is it true he has girlfriends besides his two wives?”

“Yes, but we really shouldn’t talk about that. Some people get really bent out of shape about it. Do your parents know you like boys and girls?”

“My mom, because I talked to her after what we did on Saturday.”

“And she’s OK with it?”

“She said I have to make up my own mind. It’s the same thing she said about sex, though she thinks I should wait.”

“Will you tell her?”

“No, but I won’t lie to her, either. Does that make sense?”

“Yes. That’s how I handle some things with my moms and my dad.”

“So, best friend, wanna be my first?”

“Even if it’s only today?”

“It was only going to be last Saturday and it was Cynthia’s grandma who messed that up! And who knows what happens in the future. We’re best friends, and maybe someday if we’re not dating anyone, we decide to do it again. Maybe it’s only today. That’s OK.”

“If we did, we should go to my house, just to be safe.”

“I need to be home for dinner,” Libby said.

“How about we get some ice cream?” I asked.

“Still not sure?”

“I just want to think about it a bit more.”

“What time do you leave tomorrow, Dad?” Birgit asked.

She was sitting on the loveseat in the master bedroom while I packed my bags for my trip to South America.

“The flight to Dallas is at 8:00am, so I need to leave the house by 6:00am,” I said.

“And when do you get to Colombia?”

“My flight leaves Dallas at noon and arrives at 5:30pm.”

“Where are you staying?”

“At a hotel near the offices of the company I’m doing work for. It’s called the Hotel Rosales, and it’s only a block from the office.”

“I heard it’s dangerous in Colombia.”

“Bogotá is safe,” I said, trying to reassure my nervous daughter. “And you know I can defend myself.”

“Are you taking your gun?”

“I’m not allowed, but I do have other skills.”

“I guess you’re OK at karate,” she smirked.

“Maybe I’ll forget how to cuddle!” I threatened.

“Hah! You like it as much as I do!” she said, calling my bluff.

“I do.”

“And then you go to Argentina, right?”

“Yes, on Wednesday. I’ll be staying at the InterContinental in Buenos Aires.”

“And then Brazil?”

“Yes. São Paulo, on Wednesday, where I’ll stay at the Hotel São Paulo, and I’ll come home on Sunday.”

“You should take me with you! I could take care of you!”

“I’m sure you could, Pumpkin,” I said. “But you have to go to school and I’ll be working all day, except for next weekend and the following Saturday.”

“I bet I’d learn way more visiting those countries than I do in school!”

That was actually a very good argument, and I agreed with her, in principle, but I also believed in treating school with proper respect.

“I’m sure that’s true, but you need to go to school, do your homework, and take your tests. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to travel. In fact, if you go to Sweden in three or four years, I’m sure you’ll get to travel to lots of countries in Europe.”

“But not with you!”

“That’s true, but you’ll be with Karin, Kristian, and Kjell, or maybe some kids you meet in school in Stockholm.”

“Can we video during this trip?”

“No. We’re not setting up videoconferencing systems,” I replied. “Just computer databases.”

“I’m going to miss you!”

“And I’ll miss you, too!”

“Will we be able to cuddle tomorrow?”

“Yes, but you’ll need to be up by 5:45am so we can have ten minutes of cuddling before I leave.”

“I’ll set my alarm,” Birgit declared firmly.

“I’m done,” I said. “Let’s go find your mom.”

She got up from the loveseat and we went downstairs.

“Mom One, this is Libby,” I said when we walked into the living room after taking off our jackets and shoes.

“Hi, Libby,” Mom One replied. “Is everything OK with your parents?”

“Yes, uhm, what do I call you?”

“Jennifer is OK, or Ms. Block.”

“Yes, Ms. Block, everything is fine at home.”

“What are you guys doing?”

“We walked to the ice cream place on Hyde Park Avenue,” I said. “We were going to go up to my room for a while.”

Mom One arched her eyebrow but didn’t say anything, so I took Libby’s hand and we went up to my room. I shut and locked the door, then got a disc from my collection and put it in. Libby laughed.

“YOU have Madonna’s album?”

“Just listen,” I smirked.

“YOU!” she screeched, but she was laughing.

“Not the same?” I asked with a silly grin.

“I am NOT losing my virginity to Weird Al!”

“Chicago 17 or Journey’s Greatest Hits?”

“Chicago.”

I ejected the Weird Al CD, put it in its case and put it back on the shelf, then got the Chicago CD and put it into the player and pressed ‘Play’. I moved over to the bed, pulled down my duvet and then turned back to Libby. She came over to me and we hugged and kissed. Our lips parted, our tongues met, and Libby pulled me tight to her. We kissed for a couple of minutes before she broke the kiss, released me, and pulled her sweater over her head. I pulled my polo off, and when she took off her jeans, I took mine off as well.

“Keep going?” she asked.

I didn’t wait and pulled down my briefs and kicked them off. Libby unhooked her black bra and dropped it on the floor, then pushed down her matching panties and kicked them away. She had really nice boobs with big brown nipples, a flat stomach, and she had shaved her pubic hair.

“You shave?” I asked.

“I like it this way,” she said. “Is there a problem?”

I laughed, “No, just most of the girls I’ve seen don’t shave.”

“How many HAVE you seen?” she asked.

“Dozens in the sauna.”

“You use it naked?”

“With our family and some of the ‘cousins’ and their parents.”

“The ‘cousins’?”

“Kids of my dad’s closest friends. One of the women, who I call ‘aunts’, shaves and it really annoys my dad.”

“Why?”

“Because he says that in High School she had absolutely the most gorgeous pubic hair he’d ever seen - shocking red. But her husband likes her shaved, and that annoys my dad to no end.”

Libby giggled, “That’s so funny. But don’t you get embarrassed?”

“Why would I? I was in the sauna for the first time when I was a baby, but only for a few minutes. Being naked doesn’t mean you have to have sex, or that you want to.”

“I hope you don’t mean now!”

I chuckled, “No, of course not! But in the sauna it’s not about sex. It’s like seeing some of my aunts or my dad’s other friends nurse their kids. Boobs are meant for feeding babies, in addition to being fun to play with!”

Libby laughed, “Well, how about we stop talking and start playing?”

I got into bed without saying anything and Libby hopped in after me. We turned on our sides and she moved close so we could kiss. I loved the feel of her boobs against my chest, and put my hand on her sexy butt, pulling her against my rock-hard boner. We kissed for a couple of minutes and then I gently pushed Libby on her back and began kissing her all over, starting with her shoulder blades. I avoided all the ‘fun’ areas, but discovered she was slightly ticklish when I kissed her stomach. When I kissed my way back up I kissed along her legs but not THE fun spot, but when I got to her chest I kissed, licked and sucked her nipples.

“Ooooh!” she sighed, shivering a bit.

I spent about five minutes enjoying each boob before I kissed my way down between Libby’s legs and ran my tongue along her slit.

“Oh!” she gasped as I touched her button. “Right there, Jesse!”

I closed my mouth around her clit and sucked gently while I ran my tongue over it. Libby moaned and moved her hips up, so I slipped my hands under her butt, cupped her tight butt cheeks, and held her firmly to my mouth.

“Oh! Oh! Oh!” she squeaked, then moaned and shuddered.

That happened twice more before I moved on top of her, lodged my dick against her pussy lips and kissed her softly.

“Go slow,” she whispered. “It’s my first time.”

I nodded and pushed my hips forward. I slipped easily into her and didn’t encounter an actual cherry, so I slowly pushed further into her, pulled back a bit, and then pushed all the way into her. I looked down and she was smiling.

“Hi, best friend,” she said with a deep, satisfied sigh.

“Hi,” I replied with a grin. “You OK?”

She nodded her head, wrapped her arms and legs around me and said, “You may fuck me now!”

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 50 New Friends

June 5, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “How was your day exploring?” I asked Abbie when everyone sat down to dinner. “Chicago is not New York, that’s for sure.” “Did you find anyone to hang out with?” “I talked to a couple of people and I’m going to a dance club tonight to check it out.” “Take a cab home, please,” I said. “I’ll cover the cost.” “Why?” “The L runs through some very rough neighborhoods between the Loop and Hyde Park and it’s a longish walk from the L here. Buses don’t run late...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 7 SakurakoChapter 57 Land of the Rising Sun Part III

June 23, 1994, Oguni, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan My first week in Japan flew by, and a routine developed. Sakurako would wake me; I’d exercise and run, then shower and have breakfast, and share tea with Sakurako. After breakfast, I’d meditate, and then have my training session. After lunch, I’d work in the garden, or, as I had this day, wash the floors in the house. Hiroshi would accompany me back to the cottage and we’d talk while I washed up and dressed for dinner. After dinner, I’d spend...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 7 SakurakoChapter 54 Westward Bound Or is it Eastward

June 15, 1994, Chicago, Illinois “That’s everything, I think,” I said. “My luggage is in the trunk of the car, I have my passport, tickets, and money, both dollars and yen. I can’t think of anything else.” “I’ll see you in five weeks,” Elyse said, giving me a quick hug. “Did you see they rioted in Vancouver last night because they lost the Stanley Cup?” I chuckled, “Only Canadians would riot when they LOSE the Cup! I did see that on the front page of the Trib. Are we ready?” “Michelle and...

A WellLived Life Book 7 Kara IIChapter 34 Old Routines and New Ideas

September 1982, Chicago, Illinois The weekend was quiet and besides homework, I worked on the program changes for Frank, called Karin, Tatyana, and Kara, and hung out with my usual study group. Monday was refreshingly normal. On Tuesday morning, I handed Katy my completed intake form. She put it in an envelope and stuck it in her bag. She said she’d let me know soon about the interview. On Tuesday afternoon, after having lunch with Stephie, I made my rounds and then I headed over to Sigma...

A WellLived Life Book 10 The WifeChapter 56 A New Experience and an Old Friend

July, 1985, Chicago, Illinois When Kara and I arrived back at the house, I heard my phone ringing and went to answer it. “Hi, Steve. It’s Anna. Do you have time to talk?” She sounded friendly, not upset. “Sure. What’s up?” I asked. “I’m sorry I behaved like a bitch on our date. Will you forgive me and can we go back to being friends again?” I chuckled, “Of course I will, and we can. I really did kind of dump a lot of stuff on you all at once. And that stuff is pretty far outside the...

May 18, 1994, Chicago, Illinois “Who the fuck is Anthony Cicilioni?” Elyse asked. I didn’t have much choice but to tell her, and once I did, she’d know way more than she should. But I didn’t see a way around it. “Joyce’s brother-in-law. He’s married to Connie.” “Joyce? No! Please tell me that we’re not fucking living The Firm!” I smiled, “We aren’t. All of Joyce’s businesses and investments are completely legit.” “But your mentor, the Don, sure as heck wasn’t, was he?” “No.” “Jesus,...

April 26, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “Welcome home,” I said to Jennifer late on Sunday evening. “Did Jesse behave?” she asked with a smile. “We are talking about our son, right?” I grinned. “He behaved as well as his dad does!” “Do you have the police reports?” Josie teased. “He was fine,” I said with a smile. “He went to school, played with Nicholas, and went to church with us for Pascha. How was Ohio?” “Very interesting,” Josie smirked. “Never mind!” I chuckled. “When will you...

A WellLived Life Book 6 Kara IChapter 5 Housemates

August 1981, Chicago, Illinois On Sunday morning, I made my usual call to Karin. I described everything in the apartment and all the things I’d done during the week, including the reception. Both of us would start school in a week and we were both looking forward to it. When we finished talking, I went out for my run, showered, and ate breakfast. I made some tea, started a load of laundry, and then turned on the stereo. I put on an REO Speedwagon album and then relaxed on the couch with the...

July 1978 I woke early as normal on Wednesday, swam my laps, showered, and ate breakfast. Stephanie and Vickie were up just before I left. Vickie gave me a big smile and Stephanie just shook her head. I got my bike from the garage and pedaled to the deli. As soon as I walked in, Andreas called me to his office. This only happened when something was changing. “Steve, we’re going to start opening an hour earlier. And I will have more things for you to do. Do you have a friend who would like a...

January, 1984, Chicago, Illinois Thankfully, Wednesday wasn’t a tough day, and I was home by 2:30pm. I had quite a bit of reading to do, so I made a pot of tea and went to the ‘Indian’ room with my textbooks. About an hour later, Elyse joined me, and Julia came in shortly after her. My mind began to wander and I realized just how much I missed having Stephie around. There wasn’t much I could do about it now, except to adapt to the new reality. As much as I liked and wanted a constant...

The plan was to have a big meal together around 3:00pm so that Gene and Bethany could get back to Madison before 10:00pm. Bethany was in great spirits and seemed very happy. July, 1983, Chicago, Illinois I woke up early on the First of July, because my body clock was still set to Swedish time. The flight back had been long but uneventful, and I was happy that the businessman in the seat next to me hadn’t wanted to talk. June 1977 When I got home, I grabbed a Coke and some chips and went right to my room. I didn’t think I could deal with my parents or Jeff or Stephanie. I just needed to be by myself. That wouldn’t seem odd to anyone, because I often went to my room to read. In addition, I now had the TV I’d received for my birthday. I flipped it on to WXIX Channel 19 and reruns of Gilligan’s Island and Green Acres played in the background while I read. I had to get my mind clear for the final exams that...

March 25, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “What time do I need to have you home?” “8:00pm will be fine,” Misty replied. “My parents are in Normal visiting my brother at Illinois State. A WellLived Life Book 4 BethanyChapter 39 Out With the Old in With the New

January 1981, Milford, Ohio On Friday morning, I called Kara as I had promised. We agreed to go out on Saturday evening. After completing my call to Kara, I called Bethany to see if she wanted to have lunch or dinner. “Both!” she said. “As long as your sister can come with us.” “Don’t trust yourself alone with me?” I quipped. “That will be the day, Steve Adams! Just pick me up around 11:00am.” “See you then!” I went to find Stephanie and let her know she was going out with Bethany and...

January 17, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “What time do you have to leave this morning?” Kara asked as we showered together on Tuesday morning. “About 8:30am,” I said. “I’m driving over to get Jeri, then heading to O’Hare. We have an 11:00am flight. Assuming all goes well, we’ll be in the office by 3:00pm Pacific time. We’ll spend a couple hours going over the software then go to dinner. The demo is tomorrow. Our flight back on Thursday leaves LA at 11:00am, so we’ll be home by 8:00pm, I...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 7 Setting the Course of My Life

June 1977 Friday ended up being a non-event. The more I thought about it, the more I was sure that there was no way on this earth I could say what happened between Birgit and me was a sin. Calling it a sin would debase it into a meaningless act. I could never do that. And the more I thought about Jennie McGrath, the more sure I was that I couldn’t call what she did for me a sin, either. If the church was right, I was going to hell. And frankly, there was no way that could be true. So I...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 32 Still Together

July 22, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “Albert, do you have everything packed?” Mom asked. “Yes, Mom!” I replied, rolling my eyes because she’d asked before I went to bed. “He’ll be fine, Babe,” Dad said. “Let’s walk to the hospital.” I usually didn’t get up early, but Dad had suggested it would help Mom if I walked to the hospital with her because I was leaving to see Jane for three weeks. Mom, Dad, Aunt Kara and I left the house and headed down the sidewalk towards the hospital where Mom and...

January, 1984, Chicago, Illinois After karate, I headed back to the house, took a quick shower and went to the kitchen to make some lunch, where I found Katy and Cindi eating together. I made myself a sandwich, grabbed some chips and a pickle, and sat down at the table with them. “Is Jorge coming today, Cindi?” I asked. “He could, if he plays his cards right,” she giggled. “Too much information!” I chuckled. “Seriously, I hope so. He said he would, but I’m not sure if he was just trying...

A WellLived Life Book 5 StephanieChapter 17 A New Hope

June 1981, Milford, Ohio We arrived back in Milford just before 7:00pm on Monday evening. I pulled the car into the driveway and parked. We grabbed our bags and went inside. My first order of business was to find my dad and find out what had happened on Friday night. I had thought about calling, but in the end, decided I wanted to talk to him face-to-face, and there was nothing I could’ve done from Chicago, anyway. I found my parents together and given the temperatures were in the upper...

May 14, 1997, Chicago, Illinois “Start talking!” Melanie demanded when I sat down in her office about an hour later. “There isn’t much to say. Katya found the information for me when I asked her to look into several things about Brandon Littleton, Kevin Lomax, and John Milton.” “Do you know more about him?” “A LOT more. I don’t think you want to know.” “Probably not, but I’m your criminal defense attorney, and even though San Antonio doesn’t have you involved in this, you know the CPD...

“So, how should we do these Stone’s songs?” Phil asked at our rehearsal session. “I think we all know the music, we just need to come up with a pretty awesome arrangement; we don’t want to sound like yet another cheap cover band.” “I had some ideas, if it’s okay for me to make some suggestions,” Allison said. “Of course it is,” Phil said. “Everyone can have a say, there’s no rule that says you can’t participate in the discussion.” “Thanks, Phil, I guess being the newest here, I’m a bit...

December 1979, Stockholm, Sweden The door to the room opened. Karin came in wearing her nightgown. She shut the door and climbed back into bed with me. “Karin?” “Yes, Steve?” “Did we?” “Yes, we did,” she said, sounding very happy. “Oh my God!” I gasped. “I thought you were Birgit! I’m so sorry!” “It’s fine. It is what Birgit wanted. It’s what you wanted. It’s what I wanted.” “You were a virgin!” I protested. “Oh, God, Karin, I took your virginity!” “No, Steve. May 11, 1992, Chicago, Illinois Monday was turning out to be a LONG day. After my run and talk with Gina, and my talk with Elyse, I had a full day at the office scheduled. First was our leadership meeting in the morning, and then I had status meetings with each team. At lunch I’d gone to see Siobhán and explained that I was going to break off the sexual relationship, but that I wanted to remain friends. She was disappointed, but admitted that Thursday would have been the last time, since she...

July 22, 1997, London, England “Steve Adams, please meet Philip van der Velt. Philip, my friend Steve Adams.” We shook hands. “Jiang, this is my friend Sari Onbekend.” “«Je bent Nederlands»?” Philip said to Sari. (“You’re Dutch?”) “«Ja, maar onze vrienden spreken geen Nederlands»!” (Yes, but our friends don’t speak Dutch!) “«Ik spreek een beetje»,” I said. January 19, 1989, En-Route from LAX to ORD When the engines of the plane started, Jeri reached over and took my hand. She held it while we pushed away from the gate, and taxied for takeoff. Her grip tightened a bit as we hurtled down the runway, but nothing like the death grip she’d had on my arm for the flight out. The plane roared its way into the air and once we leveled out, Jeri’s grip loosened but she didn’t let go of my hand. “How are you doing?” I asked with a touch of...

We clinked our glasses together and each sipped from our glass. “Damn, this is good!” she said. “Top shelf vodka and freshly squeezed orange juice are a necessity. I can’t do much...

June 11, 1989, Chicago, Illinois It was just after 3:00am when I kissed Trish goodbye. She’d been an enthusiastic, energetic, and adventurous lover. We’d done just about anything either of us could think of, though her breasts weren’t large enough for a tit-fuck. The last time had been in the shower where we’d ostensibly gone to clean up afterwards, but instead I ended up taking her from behind as she leaned against the wall of the shower. “I think I’ll have you again, Steve Adams,” she...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 38 Freshman Year Ends

May 1978 The first couple of weeks in May were busy with school, work, and friends. Except for Becky, I didn’t even have any dates. But I was OK with that. Well, almost OK. I wanted to see Anna, but it likely wasn’t going to happen until school was out. I had tutoring sessions with Melanie, but she still wouldn’t talk to me about anything other than Spanish. Barely a hello. I was grateful for the tutoring, but it was maddening seeing my friend this way. I hoped someday she could understand...

A WellLived Life Book 6 Kara IChapter 44 Spring Break 1982 Part I

March, 1982, Milford, Ohio As I drove along I-65, I thought about what Stephanie had asked for and what Bethany had said without even knowing about the request. Of course, because Bethany and I were so in tune, she might have actually had an idea that I was struggling with getting involved with my sister again. I kept turning it over and over in my mind and I kept coming to the same conclusion — that I shouldn’t do it. I was torn between doing what Stephanie wanted and doing what Kara and...

You were messing with me, weren’t you?” She grabbed both my hands and smiled, “I was telling the truth, in my own way. October 1981, Chicago, Illinois I arrived back at the apartment just before 10:00pm and saw the address for the party. I decided I wasn’t particularly interested in going so I put on some music, poured myself a glass of wine, and started reading more about Russia. I was alternating between the history and culture book and the Communist Party book, decided on the history and culture book for this time. I didn’t get much reading done because I was thinking about Tatyana, which led me to...

The waiter showed us to a quiet table along the wall of Roditys in Greektown. He took our drink orders and was back quickly. We placed our food orders right away and he left to put them in with the kitchen. “I’m not quite sure how to address this, so I’m just going to ask you bluntly. June 29, 1995, Chicago, Illinois On Thursday, I finally had lunch with Melissa again, something I hadn’t been looking forward to. Much like with Cèlia, Melissa and I had passed an inflection point and I was left with sub-optimal paths forward. I’d been struggling with the possible solutions, and all of them had pitfalls. When I walked into Takumi, I had something of a plan. Whether it was good or not would only be known once everything played out. “I spoke to my wives,” I said after we’d...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 7 SakurakoChapter 23 New Years Resolutions

December 31, 1993, Chicago, Illinois For the first time since I’d met him, I wasn’t sending anyone to Alex’s place for New Year’s Eve. It was, perhaps, a bit selfish, but this year I wanted my family and friends around me. Jorge’s death, and the entire situation with Jessica had really driven home just how important that was, not that I hadn’t believed that before. Alex had given me a bit of grief about it, but I reminded him that I’d been there the year before. Not to mention the fact that...

September 1982, Chicago Illinois By the time Kara left, she seemed to be in a much better mood.
