As Nathan and Ariel dressed they both were lost in their own thoughts.
It was now growing dark and they needed to head to the house they were staying in for awhile. The owner had died and they paid some money to the surviving family to use the empty house for a few months while they visited.
They had fallen back on doing a little bounty work, both people and things, and even lately a creature or too, and they used those funds to pay their way with. They were trying to not use any of the vast money they brought with them unless they had too.
Gold was gold, but they didn't want to advertise that they had different currency unless they really had to, and if they needed to exchange it they would need to do it in a port town where no one would question why they had so much of it.
But as they walked hand in hand back towards the temporary house they were using Nathan put his arm around his wife and looked at her as she laid her head on his shoulder.
They would probably need to leave soon as to not stay in one spot to long on their travels, but for now they were just enjoying the visit to the new city.
They for now were in the city of Nachand on the coast.
But as they walked Ariel was in the middle of remembering early three months ago when they first landed in the seaport city once they reached the new continent.
"Bri ... Ariel we need to disembark," said Nathan as he quickly corrected himself.
After their ship pulled into the dock Nathan went to their stateroom to get Ariel so they could leave the ship. They had already packed everything they had the night before.
"Almost slipped up did you," said Ariel quietly as she smiled and kissed his mouth. "Just do what I did. I just spend time thinking of you as my husband Nathan and after while it becomes second nature."
"I won't do it again. I can't look out for you if I'm being stupid. This is too important," said Nathan with a grim look.
"Honey you've protected me more than one woman should ever expect in one lifetime. And even then you went beyond that. So I can't help but believe in you now. Please stop beating yourself up before we even get started," said Ariel with a disarming smile.
Her smile was infectious because Nathan found himself smiling down at her as well. During the smile he swept her up into his arms and kissed her hard.
"Down boy or we'll never leave the ship. I don't know why, but I keep finding you harder and harder to resist each day for some reason," smiled Ariel as she gave Nathan another deep kiss.
"Lets head out and see what's new around us," said Nathan now smiling also.
"First thing we need to do is get me some different clothes. Most of what I owned was designed and cut to be worn by the Sisters as a noticeable uniform and we shouldn't take the chance that someone might recognize you and my former clothing and put two and two together," smiled Ariel.
She wrapped her cloak around her to hide her light brown leather vest and leather pants. The cloak was long enough to almost cover down to her legs, but it hid her clothing from view.
As they left the ship via the dock they walked the streets looking for a nice Inn. After a bit they found one that didn't look to be too expensive or run down. Nathan and Ariel went inside to see if they had any rooms.
As they stood waiting, Nathan noticed that the young man behind the counter who was helping another patron by serving them drinks kept looking up at them quite a bit.
As Nathan moved off a bit to look out a window he slowly looked back at the counter and noticed that it was his wife that the man was watching as she looked around the room at the various fixtures.
"I can't forget that she once again is as stunning as she ever was when I first met her. So other men are going to be attracted to her. And now that she's quit threatening their lives with every other breath they are going to notice her once again in force, " thought Nathan with a smile.
As he slowly looked around the room he saw other patrons watching her now as well.
When it was finally their turn Nathan approached and asked about any available rooms. The young man, who couldn't have been older than 20-25 seasons at best, started stammering as he only stared at Ariel while trying to talk.
Ariel smile at him warmly and said "Don't worry about us and take your time. But may I also ask if there are there shops around that someone can purchase a good change of clothes?"
The young man flushed hard and stammered out they had a room in the back upstairs that was available and that Dottie's trading and provisions store would be the best place to shop. It was good and inexpensive and a lot of the ladies in town liked her wares.
Even though Nathan was happy they had space and took the offered room, he couldn't help but notice the almost intense attraction to his wife the man had.
As they were leaving to visit Dottie's, Nathan slyly looked over his shoulder and saw the young man was still staring hard at Ariel as they were leaving, even though there was another patron at the counter trying to get his attention.
He was basically ignoring them as he leaned to the side to look past the patron as he stared with longing at her.
"I see you're still turning heads wherever you go. You know there was a time you would have pulled him across the counter and threatened to slap him for being so blatant," said Nathan quietly as he turned and smiled at Ariel.
"I guess as I got older I realized that a little praise doesn't always hurt. I've already proven to myself everything that I've always wanted to do. And I have already found the love of my life and I had his children.
"So I guess in the end I found that I don't care anymore about making others accept me for who I am. You do and that's all that truly matters to me. Besides it's only you who will get all my love and affection from now on," smiled Ariel as she stopped and pulled Nathan into a kiss right before they went out the door.
Nathan couldn't help but take a quick glance back over his shoulder again as they went out the door and he thought the young man looked a little crestfallen to him.
Well she was his wife and he did book a single room for two. What did the young man think? That she was going to suddenly leave Nathan for him after only seeing him once?
As they went to Dottie's store, they found that Dottie carried everything from regular dresses and outfits to clothing for warriors and weapon masters. In a port town she was pretty prepared for almost any customer.
And as they shopped Ariel said that she would like to go to a weapons shop later to purchase a matching pair of twin swords to use, and that Nathan might want to purchase a Bastard sword for himself as well.
On the ship coming here they often debated about trying to use different weapons, but they figured that they would rather live a new life with familiar weapons at first, than take a chance on getting killed in a pinch with a new one.
But Ariel honestly made the suggestion of weapons choice really for Nathan's benefit more than herself.
While she was proficient with anything she could touch, she worried that since most of Nathan's practice was with that type of sword that he might accidentally fall back and use magic in a pinch if hard pressed, and she wanted to avoid that at all cost if she could.
At least until she had time to work on a new weapon skill with him for a while.
While at Dottie's Nathan picked out a few short sleeve cloth shirts of different colors and several pairs of loose leather pants.
But while Dottie couldn't convince Ariel to purchase any dresses or skirts, she did manage to talk her into quite a few different types of stylish thin loose leather and cloth sleeveless pullover vests with a deep V's cut in them, a few light colored short sleeve one piece blouses styled as T-shirts to go under them, and various colors of leather and cloth pants.
The blouses were pretty snug and showed off Ariel's well rounded breasts to their fullest, but under the vests no one would notice how tight they really were. But all the pants seemed almost as if they were cut to snuggly follow her figure.
They were smaller at the top than in the hip area, so even though they weren't tight they gave the appearance they were because of how small her waist was and how they flowed and followed her hips.
Nathan wasn't sure if Ariel would be comfortable wearing them in public, but was totally shocked when she smiled wide and said she would take them. She immediately put on one set of black leather vest and pants with a light blue blouse underneath, and had the others wrapped to take with them
As they were leaving with their purchases out the door Nathan quietly asked "Not that I mind, but why did you buy those outfits? I thought you hated it when men gawked at you? Aren't they a little more snug than you used to like to wear?"
"Honey if you don't like them I'll take them back. I just want you to be proud of me. I only thought since I had my figure back that I shouldn't try to hide it as much as I used to. But if that makes you uncomfortable I'll return them," said Ariel with a shocked look.
She didn't know that what she had picked would make Nathan feel uncomfortable to be seen with her.
"No, I personally love how you look in them. And I for one don't mind if other men just look at you. I only asked because I wanted to make sure you were doing it for you, because of how the clothes made you feel, and not because you thought I expected anything from you," said Nathan with a smile.
Ariel smiled up and him and pulled him into a deep kiss right on the sidewalk out in front of the store.
It lasted long enough that a man behind them on the street cleared his throat and said "Hey you two go get a..." but he trailed off as Ariel quickly turned and flashed a wicked smile at him.
His mouth dropped open and he stared hard at her.
"We already have one, but thanks for the suggestion," said Ariel with a wide grin, as she then pulled Nathan's hand headed back towards their room.
Nathan just turned and smiled big at the stupefied man as Ariel pulled him after her.

All those vendors they visited acted like the couple had no idea of what they were talking about as they refused to purchase their weapons. They often tried the "berate the customer routine" to pressure them into purchasing their wares.
