“And then what?” Elyse smirked. “She offered you a ride?”

“You know, the way you three are giving me grief about this, I SHOULD have taken her up to the hayloft and fucked her silly, consequences be damned!”

“That would have been a supremely bad idea, Tiger.”

“No kidding,” I said flatly. “In point of fact, she didn’t really flirt. I mean, sure, she was nice, and talked sweet, but honestly I didn’t get the vibe from her that she was looking for a roll in the hay.”

“So what happened?”

“She showed me her horse, we talked a bit about riding, and a bit more about computers.”

“Riding?” Jessica asked.

“Another part of ancient history,” I said. “Back when I was in Middle School and Junior High, I went to Camp Marydale in Kentucky. I did a lot of horseback riding and earned some horsemanship badges. I had learned to ride in California when I was six at Camp Calamigos in Malibu. Jennifer went to Marydale as well.”

“Nobody ever mentioned that in all these years.”

“I’m pretty sure it was mentioned at some point after we met, but things got so crazy you forgot. I’m pretty sure I mentioned something in my journal about Jennifer and me at Camp Marydale. No matter. I hadn’t even thought about it in a long time until I was talking to Jodie today.”

“And after you talked?” Elyse prompted.

“She walked me to my car, we said goodbye, and I came back here. No kisses. No hugs. No offers of wild sex.”

“I’m up for wild sex!” Elyse laughed. “But I guess I have to wait until Tuesday!”

“Maybe you’ll hear from her when she visits colleges,” Jessica teased.

“More likely I’ll hear from her dad when he tries to convince her to go someplace close to home like Michigan or Michigan State. Or Purdue or UofI.”

“I’ll take that action,” Elyse said. “I bet she’ll be in touch with you in less than six months!”

“No bet for me!” Kara said. “Unless someone wants to bet that she makes a play for him when she visits IIT!”

“The three of you are just impossible!” I chuckled.

“Did everyone enjoy the vacation?” I asked as we packed our things on Sunday morning.

“I certainly did,” Jessica said. “It was great to be away, and to have absolutely nothing I had to do!”

“I enjoyed being here with you and the kids and no distractions,” Kara said.

“I agree,” Elyse said. “And not even a single call from the office!”

“That’s because we have competent people to run things!” I said. “And that is true even with Cindi on maternity leave!”

“She’ll be back in a week,” Elyse said. “I confirmed that with her before we left for Michigan.”

“What about the kids?” I asked.

“The little ones really don’t care so long as all of us are around,” Kara said. “I think Birgit and Jesse did OK once you had your talk with them.”

“It won’t be the last time,” I said. “They’re going to express their love for each other by fighting like cats and dogs!”

“And your little princess has things well in hand,” Elyse said. “She has everyone wrapped around her little finger, which is why Jesse is bristling.”

“You know she doesn’t always get her way,” I said.

“Famous last words, husband!” Jessica laughed. “We all know who the sheriff is in this town!”

“The agent will be here in about fifteen minutes,” Kara said. “Is everything cleaned up?”

“I wiped down everything in the kitchen after I made breakfast,” I said. “And Elyse swept. You and Jess did the rest, so if you’re happy, then we’re done.”

I began loading the bag into the car and finished just before the agent arrived. She was a few minutes early, but since we were ready, she did a quick inspection, signed a form, and handed Kara a copy. Kara thanked her, and we left the cabin. We got all the kids into their seats, and Elyse and I got into my car with Jesse and Matthew. I waited for Kara to pull the minivan out of the driveway, then followed after her.

“I hope we didn’t annoy you too much,” Elyse said after about thirty minutes on the road.

I smiled, “It was a bit over the top, but no, honestly. I wasn’t really annoyed. I’m just curious why you three felt the need to give me such a hard time about that girl.”

“I suppose because we could.”

“Because you knew I couldn’t call you on it,” I replied.

“Exactly! It was Kara’s idea, by the way.”

“Of course it was!”

“You have to admit Jodie was precisely your type, and exactly the kind of girl you would take to bed in a heartbeat.”

“Yes, I admit that, but given the rules, I can’t even contemplate ‘spur-of-the-moment’ trysts. And you know what? That’s a good thing.”

“You do know she’s going to call you at some point. She may not have flirted directly, but asking you to come see her horse was her innocent way of telling you she liked you.”

“I got that drift,” I said.

“You never know. Five years from now, she might apply for a job. You’ve interviewed a few other people that way!”

“Don’t even say that in jest!” I said.

“Sorry. You’re right about that, of course.”

“Dad?” Jesse asked from the back seat.

“Yes?”

“How long until we get home?”

“A bit less than five hours,” I said.

“May we play with my Game Boy now?” he asked.

“Yes. Elyse, would you get it from the glove box?”

Elyse laughed, “Kara would KILL you if she knew you let him bring that along!”

“For the ride home, only. Jesse, Matthew, and I talked about that beforehand.”

She opened the glove compartment, took out the game unit, and handed it to Jesse. It would keep him and Matthew occupied for the rest of the ride, and prevent incessant questions about how much longer it would take to get home.

June 3, 1991, Chicago, Illinois

“Welcome back!” Kimmy said from the door to my office.

“Thanks. Want to fill me in on last week?” I asked.

“Seeing as how you can’t fill me, yes!” she giggled.

“Not you too!” I sighed.

“Sorry. Elyse put me up to that. You know I usually don’t say things like that to you.”

“No, you don’t. Grab a seat.”

She sat in the chair next to my desk, opened her notebook, and gave me a quick rundown of the previous week. There wasn’t really anything out of the ordinary, though I did have about a dozen calls to return. When we finished, Dave came into the office.

“Did Kimmy tell you that our primary choice turned us down?” he asked.

“No, she didn’t. Well, if Doctor Bauer or Doctor Driesson complain, we have a legitimate response. Do you know where he decided to go?”

Dave laughed, “Sun Microsystems. You’ll never guess who hired him!”

I chuckled, “Scott! It has to be, or you wouldn’t have said it that way.”

“Yes. I called him on Thursday and we had a nice chat. He’s a bit miffed that you haven’t talked to him in over a year, and that you didn’t see him when you were in San Francisco.”

The first time, Kimmy had surprised me, though I hadn’t called Scott in advance. The second time, I was with Jeri, and there was no way I could have seen Scott during that trip.

“I was super busy,” I said. “The next time I go to LA, I’ll arrange to swing by. So, who replaces him?”

“Our third choice accepted, the young woman from Northwestern.”

“When do they start?”

“The guy from UofC will start July 1st. The woman from Northwestern starts a week from today. Did you decide what to do about Greg’s role?”

“Yes. I’m going to talk to a recruiter I met back when I was still at IIT. A man named Steve Markman who works for Pencom Systems.”

“So, we’re going outside.”

“Yes, unless you can make a strong argument for someone internal.”

“I can’t, for the reasons we discussed a few weeks ago.”

“Then I’ll give him a call this afternoon and we’ll start the search. We can always change our mind up to the last moment. Pencom does commission-based searches, so we only pay if we hire someone they bring to us.”

“OK. Let me know when we’re ready to interview.”

“Will do. Anything else I need to know?”

“No. The release went perfectly smoothly, as did the conversion in Philadelphia.”

“Kimmy had that in her notes,” I said. “I was confident. We could have released a month ago.”

“Installation kits and database conversion kits went out to Pittsburgh and Los Angeles. The beta site updates to the release code will begin tomorrow. Cindi’s team has been scheduling dates for other customers. She’s back a week from today, right?”

“Yes. Anything else? I have a bunch of calls to make and a pile of paperwork to review.”

“Have fun!” Dave said.

“Gee, thanks!”

Between the staff meeting, the phone calls, and the paperwork, I was busy until lunch, and then for two hours afterwards. I also met with Julia, Zeke, and Charlie to get updates, and that more or less blew the whole day.

“You got exactly nothing done today,” Penny teased.

“Listen up, young lady! I had enough lip from my wives and Elyse last week for a year! The last thing I need is any from you!”

“You LIKED my lips, if I remember correctly! Especially when they were wrapped around your...”

“Penelope! Enough!” I commanded sternly, but then started laughing. “You’re such a Smart Aleck.”

“I know!” she grinned.

“I do have to apologize for missing your graduation.”

“I totally understand. You needed that vacation. And I’m sure my graduation was as dumb and boring as yours was. I only went because Bart and my mom insisted.”

“Not to mention that you were the first ever IIT valedictorian from the CS program!”

“Well, yeah, that too!”

“You’re glad to be done and back to work?”

“Yes! And hopefully at some point, we can work VERY closely,” she said, licking her lips.

“Penelope Margaret Penfield, cut it out!” I chuckled.

“Or what?” she smirked. “You’ll turn me over your knee? Would you? Please?”

She was right. There really wasn’t anything I could do. Threatening to move her out of my office was, in the end, an empty threat. It was a ‘problem’ of my own making, and something I’d have to put up with for another forty or fifty years. Or more!

June 8, 1991, Chicago, Illinois

“Well, that was about as boring as anything I’ve ever sat through,” my sister said as we left the field house at UofC.

“I think all graduation ceremonies are like that,” I agreed.

“We’re all proud of you, Stephanie,” my dad said.

“Thanks!” she smiled.

“When do you start at Arthur Andersen?” I asked.

“July 1st. That’s when all the newbies start. I guess it makes it easier for them. I have a couple of weeks of training, and then I’ll get assigned to an audit team.”

“Cool,” I said.

“Did Kara hear back from UofC?”

“Not yet, but she was pretty sure they wouldn’t call her until the quarter was over. I’m guessing she’ll hear on Monday or Tuesday.”

“I hope she gets it!”

“Me, too!”

We were on our way to dinner, though I wasn’t thrilled because my brother was along. So far, he’d kept his mouth shut, and I hoped it stayed that way, because neither Stephanie nor I were in any mood for BS from him or my mom. I’d already had a heated debate with my mom about him coming to the house, and had only prevailed when Jessica intervened and told my mom that if she continued to insist, then my mother would be banned from the house, permanently, with no chance of a reprieve.

My sister’s choice for dinner was Ruth’s Chris Steak House. We took the minivan because it was far more comfortable than trying to squeeze six adults into my BMW or my mom’s Toyota. Dinner was excellent, and both my mom and brother behaved which made it even better. When we finished, we dropped my parents and brother at their hotel, then Stephanie, Ed, and I headed to the house for my sister’s graduation party.

She’d invited a dozen friends from school, my wives, kids, Elyse, Jennifer, Josie, Abbie, plus some of our close friends and former housemates. She’d arranged with Fawn to babysit the kids to ensure that my wives could enjoy the party. I was very happy that she’d invited Jorge and Trish, and that they’d accepted. Kurt, Dave, and I had volunteered to run the grill, and Elyse and Josie were handling the rest of the food. Abbie was, naturally, responsible for music when it came time to dance.

We served everyone food, including the kids, who had help from Fawn, before she took them into the coach house. Jesse wasn’t happy about not being allowed to join the rest of the party, but he had friends to play with so he didn’t make too big of a deal about it. A look from me had been enough to get him to cooperate.

“Hi, Steve!” Laurie said.

I was surprised to see her at the party, but assumed my sister had invited her at Abbie’s request. She had Claire and Becka with her.

“Hi, ladies! Did you get enough food?”

“Yes! The burgers were awesome!”

“Great!”

“Can we ask you a question?”

“Sure. What’s up?”

“We were wondering if you’d like to have all three of us? Together!”

I almost laughed, but I managed to hold it in. There was NO doubt in my mind that Elyse had cooked this up, and probably had help from Abbie. I decided to play along.

“That sounds like fun,” I said with a grin. “There’s only one problem. You’ll have to ask permission from Jessica, Kara, and Elyse!”

“I thought you had permission to fool around,” Laurie said.

“I do, but it’s on a case-by-case basis, and a foursome with you three is an unusual request! I mean, I’d love to slide slowly in and out of three tight, hot pussies for the next few hours, but I need my wives and Elyse to tell me it’s OK!”

I could see in their eyes that there was no way they were going to ask Jess or Kara, so I decided to push it.

“I also would LOVE to slide my tongue in and out, taste your hot, sexy juices, and make you scream with pleasure!”

They were shifting uncomfortably now which was a nice turn of the tables, because usually I was on the receiving end of this kind of treatment. I saw Elyse out of the corner of my eye with a smug look on her face, which confirmed my suspicions.

“We have to go ask,” Laurie said, almost breathlessly.

“Uhm, I don’t know,” Claire replied.

Laurie grabbed her arm and dragged her away from me towards a corner of the yard, and Becka followed them. I smirked and walked over to Elyse.

“Nice try!” I chuckled. “But I think you’ll find those three are now so worked up that they’d fuck the stick shift in my BMW!”

“What are you talking about?” Elyse asked, trying to sound confused.

I laughed, “I saw the smug look and I can see in your eyes now that you put them up to it, probably with Abbie’s help. I told them they needed permission from you, Jess, and Kara. Then I told them what I’d do to them. The jig was up when Laurie said they had to ask and Claire said she didn’t know. I got you this time, Ms. Clarke!”

She laughed, “OK. OK. You figured it out.”

“It was too obvious. You should have had them wait until it was time to dance and had them gang up on me then!”

“What are you going to do if they DO ask?” Elyse asked.

A WellLived Life Book 6 Kara IChapter 5 Housemates

August 1981, Chicago, Illinois On Sunday morning, I made my usual call to Karin. I described everything in the apartment and all the things I’d done during the week, including the reception. Both of us would start school in a week and we were both looking forward to it. When we finished talking, I went out for my run, showered, and ate breakfast. I made some tea, started a load of laundry, and then turned on the stereo. I put on an REO Speedwagon album and then relaxed on the couch with the...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 63 Back to Work

August 21, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “Unbelievable,” I said when I read the headline from the Chicago Tribune. “It says here that Solidarity activist Tadeusz Mazowiecki was nominated to be Prime Minister of Poland.” I hadn’t had a chance to read the paper on Sunday because it hadn’t been delivered before we left for the race track in Michigan. “So now what?” Kara asked. “We’re in totally uncharted territory. Your guess is as good as anyone’s right about now.” “Steve, do you have a minute?”...

A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 36 My Lifes Journey

July, 1983, Chicago, Illinois I woke up early on the First of July, because my body clock was still set to Swedish time. The flight back had been long but uneventful, and I was happy that the businessman in the seat next to me hadn’t wanted to talk. I read, wrote some longhand journal entries, ate, and generally relaxed while the plane zipped over the Atlantic. I’d come home, taken a sauna, eaten a light meal, and gone straight to bed, not bothering to check messages, look at the mail that...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 4 Calm Before the Storm

June 1977 When I got home, I grabbed a Coke and some chips and went right to my room. I didn’t think I could deal with my parents or Jeff or Stephanie. I just needed to be by myself. That wouldn’t seem odd to anyone, because I often went to my room to read. In addition, I now had the TV I’d received for my birthday. I flipped it on to WXIX Channel 19 and reruns of Gilligan’s Island and Green Acres played in the background while I read. I had to get my mind clear for the final exams that...

A Golfers Dream Book III The Real Education BeginsChapter 2 Graduation

The day after the party with Rebecca's friends, was warmer and dryer and, as Dave had hoped, the local driving range opened. Dave spent four hours hitting balls and was pleasantly sore when he eventually drove home. His swing felt good after the long winter break and, in general, he had struck the ball well. He still decided to call the golf academy and arrange a lesson with the pro that had helped him the two previous summers. Dave spent the rest of Sunday doing homework and studying. The...

The Graduation

With graduation round the corners and passing by. The idea came to me. Well more like it came to me after watching my cousins graduation and wanting a party...but no group sex. Just a normal high school drunk party. lol Like always, this is all fantasy and non of the people in this story are the reflection of anyone I have known or actually knowAs Kayla's graduation drew nearer, her parents grew increasingly concerned about their young daughter's apparent lack of interest in any kind of...

July, 1982, Milford, Ohio I woke up early on Friday morning to make breakfast for Kara and her mom before she went to work. Mrs. Blanchard was surprised, but very pleased. After her mom left for work, Kara gave me a fierce kiss. “Thanks for staying in and cooking breakfast for us,” Kara said. “I hope that doesn’t cause you trouble with Stephanie, with you breaking your normal routine.” “Don’t worry about it,” I said, kissing her back. “We got in a bit later than I expected, and she’ll...

A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 38 Jennifer

July, 1983, Chicago, Illinois After Rosie left, I stripped the sheets from my bed, as well as the cover of the duvet, and tossed everything into the washing machine. I lit a lavender candle in the room, and then swept and dusted. I did a quick spot-check of the rest of the house and noticed that the tub in the sauna needed to be cleaned. I scrubbed it, then mopped the sauna floor with a damp sponge mop. I finished cleaning the sauna about the time the washing machine finished, so I moved...

May 26, 1991, Iron Mountain, Michigan “Shall we see if we can find a farm?” I asked at breakfast on Sunday morning. “That sounds like a great idea,” Jessica said. “There’s a visitor’s bureau in town,” Kara said. “I saw it when we were here the first time.” “I’m sorry I ruined that vacation,” Jessica said. “Ruined?” I protested. “Are you kidding? Getting you back was way more important than a few days of vacation!” “I agree,” Kara added. “Jess, you know exactly how bad off Steve was...

August, 1984, Chicago, Illinois The rest of the week proceeded as expected - class on Wednesday, as well as the usual visit from Penny, work on Thursday, and class on Friday. Kara and I had lunch together at IIT, Sofia practiced her driving and parking, and I hung out with Mark Agnini after class for beers. Staci and I got into a couple of interesting debates about the Old Testament that Mark had to break up to allow others in the class to participate. She was very much of the ‘directly...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 7 Reaching the Peak

March 25, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “What time do I need to have you home?” “8:00pm will be fine,” Misty replied. “My parents are in Normal visiting my brother at Illinois State. They aren’t supposed to be home before 10:00pm.” Misty and I were in my car on the way to the NIKA apartment which, fortunately, was not being used. With our expansion, it was in more or less regular use, and that meant I didn’t have access to it as often as I would have liked. I was glad there had been a delay in...

We have an 11:00am flight. Assuming all goes well, we’ll be in the office by 3:00pm Pacific time. We’ll spend a couple hours going over the software then go to dinner. The demo is tomorrow. A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 7 Setting the Course of My Life

June 1977 Friday ended up being a non-event. The more I thought about it, the more I was sure that there was no way on this earth I could say what happened between Birgit and me was a sin. Calling it a sin would debase it into a meaningless act. I could never do that. And the more I thought about Jennie McGrath, the more sure I was that I couldn’t call what she did for me a sin, either. If the church was right, I was going to hell. And frankly, there was no way that could be true. So I...

July 22, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “Albert, do you have everything packed?” Mom asked. “Yes, Mom!” I replied, rolling my eyes because she’d asked before I went to bed. “He’ll be fine, Babe,” Dad said. “Let’s walk to the hospital.” I usually didn’t get up early, but Dad had suggested it would help Mom if I walked to the hospital with her because I was leaving to see Jane for three weeks. “So, how should we do these Stone’s songs?” Phil asked at our rehearsal session. “I think we all know the music, we just need to come up with a pretty awesome arrangement; we don’t want to sound like yet another cheap cover band.” “I had some ideas, if it’s okay for me to make some suggestions,” Allison said. “Of course it is,” Phil said. “Everyone can have a say, there’s no rule that says you can’t participate in the discussion.” “Thanks, Phil, I guess being the newest here, I’m a bit...

May 11, 1992, Chicago, Illinois Monday was turning out to be a LONG day. After my run and talk with Gina, and my talk with Elyse, I had a full day at the office scheduled. January 19, 1989, En-Route from LAX to ORD When the engines of the plane started, Jeri reached over and took my hand. She held it while we pushed away from the gate, and taxied for takeoff. Her grip tightened a bit as we hurtled down the runway, but nothing like the death grip she’d had on my arm for the flight out. The plane roared its way into the air and once we leveled out, Jeri’s grip loosened but she didn’t let go of my hand. “How are you doing?” I asked with a touch of...

September 1982, Chicago, Illinois The weekend was quiet and besides homework, I worked on the program changes for Frank, called Karin, Tatyana, and Kara, and hung out with my usual study group. Monday was refreshingly normal. On Tuesday morning, I handed Katy my completed intake form. She put it in an envelope and stuck it in her bag. She said she’d let me know soon about the interview. Stephie hopped up as I opened the door and greeted me with a hug and a kiss. “Hi, Peaches!” I said. “Glad you’re home, Yankee!” “Hi, Steve,” Elyse and Jackie both said. “Hey,” I replied. “How was the weekend?” “Well, it was just Kurt with me, Stephie,...

June 11, 1989, Chicago, Illinois It was just after 3:00am when I kissed Trish goodbye. She’d been an enthusiastic, energetic, and adventurous lover. We’d done just about anything either of us could think of, though her breasts weren’t large enough for a tit-fuck. The last time had been in the shower where we’d ostensibly gone to clean up afterwards, but instead I ended up taking her from behind as she leaned against the wall of the shower. “I think I’ll have you again, Steve Adams,” she...

May 1978 The first couple of weeks in May were busy with school, work, and friends. Except for Becky, I didn’t even have any dates. But I was OK with that. Well, almost OK. I wanted to see Anna, but it likely wasn’t going to happen until school was out. I had tutoring sessions with Melanie, but she still wouldn’t talk to me about anything other than Spanish. March, 1982, Milford, Ohio As I drove along I-65, I thought about what Stephanie had asked for and what Bethany had said without even knowing about the request. Of course, because Bethany and I were so in tune, she might have actually had an idea that I was struggling with getting involved with my sister again. I kept turning it over and over in my mind and I kept coming to the same conclusion — that I shouldn’t do it. I was torn between doing what Stephanie wanted and doing what Kara and...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 21 Georg and Maria

September 7, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “That went reasonably well,” Michelle said when her parents drove off. “There were a few times I thought my expression would give away something I shouldn’t. You were messing with me, weren’t you?” She grabbed both my hands and smiled, “I was telling the truth, in my own way. Thank you!” She leaned forward and kissed my cheek. “So, what’s left?” I asked. “To visit UofC tomorrow and formally withdraw from classes. To spend some time with you and your...

A WellLived Life Book 6 Kara IChapter 14 A Southern Belle a Surprise Proposal two Cheerleaders an Old Flame and a Girl Back Home Part I

October 1981, Chicago, Illinois I arrived back at the apartment just before 10:00pm and saw the address for the party. I decided I wasn’t particularly interested in going so I put on some music, poured myself a glass of wine, and started reading more about Russia. I was alternating between the history and culture book and the Communist Party book, decided on the history and culture book for this time. I didn’t get much reading done because I was thinking about Tatyana, which led me to...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 9 KamiChapter 38 And Sometimes It Stinks To Be Big

January 23, 1996, Chicago, Illinois “Father, bless!” I said, greeting Father Basil with upturned palms. “Bless you, Stephen,” he said as I kissed his hand. The waiter showed us to a quiet table along the wall of Roditys in Greektown. He took our drink orders and was back quickly. We placed our food orders right away and he left to put them in with the kitchen. “I’m not quite sure how to address this, so I’m just going to ask you bluntly. Are you the father of Michelle’s baby?” I shook my...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 8 NIKAChapter 68 The Rules

June 29, 1995, Chicago, Illinois On Thursday, I finally had lunch with Melissa again, something I hadn’t been looking forward to. Much like with Cèlia, Melissa and I had passed an inflection point and I was left with sub-optimal paths forward. I’d been struggling with the possible solutions, and all of them had pitfalls. When I walked into Takumi, I had something of a plan. Whether it was good or not would only be known once everything played out. “I spoke to my wives,” I said after we’d...

A Bunnie To Play With Chapter 15 Graduation

Thursday - once I had been able to extricate my sore body from the bed - had been quite hectic. I spent a good part of the afternoon shopping, and it took me quite a while to find shops that had the kind of clothing I was looking for - flimsy, lewd and in crying colors. I had almost given up hope when I stumbled into a costume shop as a last resort. The sales girl crossed her arms when she saw me, and when I noticed the short, dirty blonde, tight curls, I realized that I had seen her once or...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 73 Hypothetical Questions

December 5, 2000, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota “I had a good time last night,” I said. “I was surprised you invited a friend!” Mary laughed as we walked into the exam room, “Naomi had a good time as well. You know what a Resident’s life is like.” I nodded, “No social life.” “Exactly. You guys seemed to hit it off pretty well.” “Yes, but I’m not here for that!” “You’re everywhere for that, and you know it!” I couldn’t help but laugh. “Let’s just say that you hit the sweet spot -...

The FavorChapter 42 Graduation

The days leading up to graduation were busy ones for Rachel. Besides the traditional end of high school activities, Rachel was spending all of her free time making up for prom night. But she did it with a smile on her face, thinking of what might have been, and what she actually had. Graduation day arrived, and everyone was excited. We met Jeff at the graduation with his parents. He looked quite handsome in his gown, as did Rachel. Of course Rachel was wearing nothing underneath, but that...

A WellLived Life Book 3 PiaChapter 25 The Puzzle and the Cat Part II

March 1980, Hovås/Göteborg, Sweden I woke early as usual, but just enjoyed being in bed with Katt. When she woke, she hopped out of bed and pulled a robe out of her closet and handed it to me. “There’s a spare toothbrush in the bathroom. Go have your shower, then we’ll have breakfast after I have my shower.” I quickly showered and brushed my teeth, and went back to Katt’s room. She went to shower and came back a few minutes later. She dressed, and I got a very good look at her sexy body...

April 5, 1997, Chicago, Illinois “You missed cuddles this morning!” Birgit said accusingly when I walked into the house about 9:30am. “I know, Pumpkin, but I had a work emergency and had to go see Aunt Joyce and Grandpa A.” “And now we have to get ready for karate!” “I know. We’ll have some family time this afternoon. I don’t have any plans.” “Good!” I hugged her and the rest of the kids, then went to find Kara. We hugged and kissed, and went straight upstairs to get ready for...

September 3, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “Good morning, Sensei,” I said, bowing to Sensei Jim. “Good morning!” he said waving me to a chair in his office. “How was your trip?” I asked. “Enlightening. I spent most of my time acting as a manservant to Sensei Robert and Sensei Hiro.” “He who will lead, must first serve,” I said. “Someday, I’m going to send you to Sensei Hiro, should he live long enough. You understand.” “Does that mean you are now 6th Dan?” I...

October 29, 2000, Chicago, Illinois Birgit followed me as far as the stairs, then scooted upstairs when I went to the front door and opened it. “Hi!” Sophie said. “Hi!” I replied and held the door open so she could come into the house. I closed the door behind her then led her to my study where I waited until she went in, and then walked in, closing the door behind me. I nodded to one of the wingback chairs, she sat down in one, and I sat down in the other. “Is something wrong?” she...

A WellLived Life Book 8 StephieChapter 61 Anala Part II

August, 1983, Chicago, Illinois I walked in the near 90°F heat to Carla’s place. I was grateful that the humidity of the morning had dropped significantly; otherwise the heat would have been unbearable. By the time I walked up the steps to the apartment over the photography studio and knocked on her door, I had broken into a light sweat. Carla answered almost immediately and invited me inside her studio apartment. The air was moderately cool, and the window air conditioner was running full...

A WellLived Life Book 7 Kara IIChapter 21 He Will Tell Thee What Thou Shalt Do

July 1982, Milford, Ohio On Tuesday morning, I kissed Kara goodbye and headed to my parents’ house for my usual morning routine with my little sister. She was happy that I could spend the morning with her and asked to take a walk, so we weren’t in the house with my mom. “Let me guess — this walk will end in the clearing,” I said with a smile. “Yes,” she said, taking my hand as we walked down Overlook towards Klondyke. As usual, we turned around and walked back, taking the path to the...

March 13, 1994, Chicago, Illinois “Hi, Steve!” Ailea said when she opened the door. “Hi,” I replied, accepting the offered hug. There was no touching of lips, just of cheeks, and I wondered if I’d misread her intentions at her birthday lunch, or if, perhaps, she detected my reluctance to return the offered affection. “Lunch is ready, so go ahead and sit. I’ll bring it in from the kitchen.” I went to the low table, sat down, and a minute later, Ailea brought miso soup and sushi, our usual...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 10 BridgetChapter 72 An Explosive Discovery

April 3, 1997, Dallas, Texas “Remember what I said about drinking too much,” I said, as I poured bourbon into three cups. We’d stopped at a liquor store, bought a bottle of Blanton’s, and then returned to the small suite I’d reserved at the Westin. Deborah’s room was down the hall, and Krissy’s was two floors below. Krissy’s comment had caught me a bit off guard, but I hadn’t reacted visibly. I didn’t know her quite well enough to know if she’d been teasing with Deborah, so I was being...

March 28, 1991, Chicago, Illinois “This day belongs to you, Kara!” I said when the three of us woke on Thursday morning. “Happy birthday!” Jessica said. “Thanks,” Kara replied happily. “I think I’d like an amazing birthday fuck from our husband, and then a nice loving shower with my wife!” Kara said. “Do we have enough time?” I asked. Jessica giggled, “I set the alarm for thirty minutes earlier!” “Then let’s not waste any of it!” I said pulling Kara to me. Kara’s squeals as I plunged...

September 1, 1987, Chicago, Illinois “I heard that you have some kind of plan to help Ed,” I said to Connie. “There’s no plan,” she replied. “A witness who saw the shopkeeper alive after Ed left came forward.” That sounded convenient, and I wondered if the witness was real or someone that Anthony had put forward to solve the problem. Certainly, the videotape was real, because I couldn’t imagine how Anthony could have faked that, but the witness? Who knew? “So is he being released? Or is...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 10 BridgetChapter 100 A Full Circle

August 17, 1997, Chicago, Illinois We finished lunch and Marissa and the younger kids went to play, but Natalie sat with the adults to talk, with coffee, tea, or soft drinks. The Sarcus were very comfortable, but the Heaths were still struggling. But, vitally, they hadn’t left and hadn’t insisted Natalie leave the group. “Can you explain how you developed this attitude and approach?” Chris asked. I nodded, “It started when I was just a bit younger than Natalie. My mom was a total control...

A WellLived Life Book 3 PiaChapter 6 A Tale of Three Cities Part III

July 1979 — Falkenberg, Sweden On Friday, when I got back from my run, Pam was in her bra and panties again. I whistled at her, she giggled, then finished dressing. I showered, and we went to breakfast and finished up our last day. Once class was done, we were pretty much free. On Saturday, we’d have several optional activities and then on Sunday we’d head back to our host families. After dinner on Friday, I took Pam’s hand and we walked towards the river. It was quiet and peaceful, and...

The Twin Cheerleaders Prom and Graduation

Graduation was a few days away, and I was so excited to get out of high school. It was prom night. I decided to take Ashley to prom. I couldn't decide which twin to take to prom, and I didn't want to hurt them if I didn't choose the right one. Nina and Nancy understood. Nina and Nancy were going to prom as singles, which left them open to dance all night. We arrived at the country club our prom was being held at, and the twins, Ashley, and the rest of the cheer squad got out of the...

July 1980, Over the North Atlantic We reached cruising altitude, and I settled back to read my book. Pam raised the armrest between us, snuggled close to me and read as well. The cabin crew offered drinks, and I had my first Coke in a year! Meal service began about an hour and a half into the flight. After the cabin crew picked up the trays and offered drinks again, they passed once more, offering headsets for the movie. Trevor and Maria took them, but Pam and I didn’t, instead we turned on...

July 8, 1997, Chicago, Illinois “Is it really that surprising?” Leah asked. “I suppose not,” I replied. “I just didn’t read too much into the kiss on the cheek.” “I didn’t think it was a good idea to kiss you on the lips with all those people around, because I had no idea who they were or what they would think. You were VERY careful with our dance, so I kind of followed your lead.” Which showed very mature thinking on her part. Both of these girls were exactly the kind of students I...

November 8, 1993, Chicago, Illinois A dark fog swirled before my eyes as I tried to take stock. My head hurt, badly. I felt something on my face and realized, dimly, it was an oxygen mask. My right hand was uncomfortable and I recognized the feeling of an IV and pulse-oximeter. My left arm ached fiercely. On my chest I felt the pads and wires of an EKG. I didn’t feel anything else wrong as I continued taking inventory. I tried to open my eyes, but the fog didn’t clear. I tried to speak, but...

August, 1983, Chicago, Illinois In the morning Anala and I ran as we had the previous time, then showered together, carefully washing each other’s bodies in an intimate but non-sexual way. After our shower we went to the kitchen and I made breakfast and we sat down to eat. “Steve, may I make a suggestion?” she asked. “Sure.” “Broaden your circle of friends. Other than me, all of you are white, nominally Christian, 20-year-old Americans. And you don’t invite me to your Sunday...

A Fresh StartChapter 46 Graduation

Thursday, May 26, 1977 I made sure I stayed visible whenever the pledges were around the house and didn’t travel anymore on weekends. Marilyn seemed to understand, and she spent a few weekends driving down to see me. I really didn’t mind, since she would often come down and spend time lounging around the pool in one of her little bikinis or the crocheted one piece. I watched one freshman as she sauntered up to the pool and undid the wrap around her hips and dropped it to the side; he was...

Saturday, May 28, 1983 The house was mostly complete by Thanksgiving, but there were still enough items on the punch list to keep us from moving in. The kitchen needed some more work, as did the hardwood floors, and the driveway was going to be gravel until the following spring, when the weather would allow us to lay down some blacktop. We were ready to move in by Christmas, but that was just too hectic. We would wait until January. Dum-Dum got some nice presents at Christmas. Following the...

He did, and I sat in the usual chair across from him. “She has a real problem, you know that, right?” he asked. “I do. May 1979 The limo dropped me at home about 9:00pm. I took my stuff to my room, stripped, and hung up the tux. The rest of the things went into the hamper. I took a shower, put on shorts and a t-shirt, and walked down the hall into my dad’s office.
