As they all looked at her in shock, that she had found them so easily, they didn't know what to say to her. They assumed it was Teresa from the night before but her appearance was radically different than before

Instead of her strawberry blonde hair that was in a ponytail hanging just past her shoulders she now had long brown hair that was freely hanging midway down her back. Instead of the striking blue eyes, they were a rich deep brown. Instead of the athletic build with very large breasts, she had above average breasts on a softly lush figure.

But they were all struck by how young she looked. She didn't look to be a day over twenty or twenty one seasons at best.

While she was still extremely attractive she physically didn't look remotely like she did before.

But the evil smile she had when she attacked Nathan was still there. That wasn't something that any of them would ever be able to forget.

"So we can do it the easy way, which I'll make sure that you enjoy everything we do right up until the end. Or we can do it the hard way which still involves you enjoying yourself at some point, but I will have to kill everyone here first. Which is it?" asked the woman

"You won't hurt my husband, I won't let you do it," said Ariel softly with a dangerous edge.

"From what I've seen earlier I'm sure you won't. But I had to ask myself a question. While you might be willing and able to kill me easily enough, are you just as willing to kill completely innocent strangers as easily? I'm willing to bet you won't," said the woman mockingly.

The shocked look Ariel gave her caused her to laugh. It was a rich sound that didn't match the evil look she was giving.

"See I thought not. Just so you know these men behind me aren't here willingly. I have them in thrall. Well I did need to borrow just a bit of their essence over the last few days to ensure it, but they are here to help me none the less," said the woman smiling still.

"Just who are you and why do you want me so badly?" asked Nathan as he took all this in.

"My name doesn't matter. I mean, it's not like it will matter to you soon anyway even if I did tell you. As to why, you are a very powerful mage. And I so do like the feel of mages when I can get them.

"There aren't many, if any at all, still left around here so I try hard for them when I can. Something tells me you have a lot of secrets for me to explore. And your power is something I've never felt before," said the woman licking her lips.

"See, I know that you still need me to be willing to be with you because you can't forcibly take anything from me that I won't freely give up, and you have to know by now that will never happen. Even if you took my wife's form and tried I would still know it wasn't her. So you can't even get it that way," said Nathan confidently.

"No, no you are thinking too literally. What would happen if I, oh I don't know, had you beaten almost to the point of unconsciousness and then took your wife's form? Still think you could resist me willingly in that state?" asked the woman seductively.

The look on Nathan's face went grim.

She had thought of everything. She was going to use the men to keep all of them engaged as she attacked him. But he was betting she wouldn't use anything too vicious, loud, or even obvious, to risk drawing attention to herself as she fought with them. Even the men made no noise as they stood there with blank looks on their faces.

As the men started forward Nathan freed his staff and quickly assembled it.

The men suddenly attacked them and Terrance was the first causality.

One of the men, almost as an after thought, threw a back hand at Terrance and he couldn't get his hands up in time in his weakened state.

Terrance flew backwards and hit the wall with his shoulders and back and was out cold before he slid to the floor.

Rory was next.

He was very proficient with his swords, but knowing that the men were being used against their will and were being controlled by the woman, he tried to fight with them just using hand to hand moves, but he was soon grabbed by two of them and repeatedly punched by another until he lost consciousness.

Then he too slid to the floor.

That soon only left Nathan and Ariel.

Ariel was doing a good job between throwing around the ten or eleven she had on her and kicking them far enough away to get some breathing room. So far she didn't feel she had to take them seriously yet.

Nathan was trying to trip, push away, and knock the men who were left fighting him out with his staff. But each time he hit one of them behind the head or in the solar plexus they kept getting back up and attacking over and over again.

It was soon apparent that they acted as if they didn't feel any pain. And they still had the same blank look as they continued to come after them. With no pain to slow them down their strength seemed almost superhuman.

Nathan was starting to get gnawing fear that he would have to kill them to stop them.

The woman laughed as she slowly moved around the large stable and watched the pair struggle with her puppets as they fought.

For her it was an easy thing to do to block out pain from them so they could fight on. It was often one of the means she used to keep men from realizing the pain when the transfer first started. She could make it feel as if it was intense pleasure.

As Nathan fought with the men he was happy to be using such a non lethal means. For the first time this trip he was suddenly glad Ariel insisted on him carrying the staff. The staff gave him enough reach to fight 2 and 3 men that would normally have to be taken one at a time in hand to hand.

And hand to hand would have worked equally as well, but eventually he would get tired of throwing them or trying to dislocate something.

Since Terrance and Rory had already been knocked out Ariel was still fighting hand to hand with the men, and she still wasn't struggling with them yet. So far she felt that she was having it pretty easy.

But she noticed that they couldn't fight well, and her strength and stamina was far greater than theirs, so it wasn't all that hard. She was sure that the woman must not have known anything about fighting and she was just throwing the men at them, and they were easily fending them off.

As Nathan continued to fight, the three men he was fighting suddenly turned and headed straight for Ariel, and as he went to pursue them it felt as if the sun was trying to set behind his eyes. He closed his eyes and dropped to one knee in unbelievable pain.

Try as he might the pain was just too intense for him to open his eyes right then. It was so painful it was making him lightheaded and extremely nauseous. He found himself gasping as he tried not to scream out from it.

As he struggled and slowly opened his eyes, he looked her direction he could see her smiling as she held out her hand. He realized that the pain was from her doing a psionic attack to slow him down.

But try as he might he couldn't stop it. He did realize that it would have been far more painful, if not knocked him out right from the start, if he hadn't automatically fought it as hard as he had.

As he fought the pain he realized that all those men were still attacking Ariel as the woman attacked him and he couldn't do a thing about.

But Ariel was still easily holding her own. She still had not found any of it taxing when the rest joined the ones attacking her as she threw one man into another, flipped some, tripped others, or knocked them backwards.

They were still over classed by her, but they kept coming after her time after time, and it was only a matter of time before they wore her down at this rate.

It wasn't that she couldn't defeat them normally, but the fact was that the twenty five of them wouldn't stay down no matter what she did to them.

Even the ones with loosely hanging arms from breaks or dislocations got back up like nothing was wrong to try again, throwing the limb in questions at her as if it still worked normally.

And she was growing concerned that she might actually have to kill them all to save Nathan. She didn't want to, but she would trade Nathan's life for theirs in a heartbeat.

But as Nathan continued to struggle with the woman the only thoughts that were able to race though his mind were "How is she doing this? My mental defenses are very strong. I've never read or heard of any Succubi who can do magic attacks like this!"

"You're ... using the stolen ... life essences ... to augment your power ... aren't you?" gasped Nathan in continued pain and he realized how she was able to over power him.

And as he continued to struggle against her he couldn't stop himself before he threw up all over the ground in front of himself. He just couldn't keep taking the sustained attack by her. If they didn't stop her soon he would pass out from the pain.

"Why yes I am. You are pretty smart aren't you? Once I add your power to my own I'll have all that power and knowledge you have as well. You have a power unlike any I've ever sensed before and for some reason it is drawing me to you in a way I find that I can't resist," said the woman smiling big.

If she wasn't trying to kill him that smile would have been pretty warm from her.

Making up his mind Nathan took aim and fired off a lighting spell hoping to force her to stop her attack against him to combat it, but she harmlessly cancelled it.

He then decided to chance a fireball, that if it got away from them would set fire to the barn, but she did the same to it as well.

Nathan was trying to figure out a way to fight her, but he wasn't doing well. And all the pain in his mind was keeping his normal thought process from working. It was hard to think of anything else but the intense pain. Unexpectedly he threw up again.

He realized that the woman must be trying to disable Ariel before she had the men work him over because he still wouldn't pass out, so the woman was doing all she could to keep him from being able to do much else to help Ariel.

But the men were still finding it hard to disable Ariel, but Nathan knew it was only a matter of time before she eventually would tire out. That is if she didn't fly into a rage first. And if she tired they would disable her and then him so the woman could eventually kill him.

If she flew into a rage though she would kill them all and then she would have to live with the intense remorse over killing men who were fighting with her against their will.

The only trump card he had left was an explosive release of his power, but that would also kill Terrance and Rory for sure. Ariel could only survive it if she was pissed off, but most certainly she wouldn't survive it if she wasn't.

And the explosion it would leave him passed out for days, with no way to know for sure if it worked against her.

If it didn't, then he didn't have any other way to keep her from making him willing to have sex with her while he was defenseless either, that is if she had some way to survive it. And she just might since she wasn't acting like any other Succubus he had ever heard of before.

Not to mention it would also destroy a good chunk of the city in the process.

But as he tried to work it out while he was in pain there just wasn't any way he could see his way out of this without the death of a lot of people just to save his own life.

He thought about trying to make a run for it, but even then he couldn't and leave Ariel, Terrance, and Rory to face her if he tried. She would just kill them all for spite and then chase him down.

As it stood the only one she was here for was him. If he couldn't think of a way to save everyone then he would sacrifice himself to save them.

But what would she do with his power and magical abilities? What was her plan then for it? Did she want to rule the world? Eventually she would be able to at this rate.

Nathan was struggling still on one knee trying to find a way for everyone to survive this encounter the door behind him softly swung open and Elliot looked inside.

He could hear something as he approached the stable to look for Ken, but he wasn't sure what it was. He hoped that it might be Ken back from wherever he was. And if it was he would give him an earful for making Carol worry like he did. She deserved better than that.

"Ariel, I still don't see why you were so dead set against my having brought my Bastard sword with me as a backup incase of trouble. I mean you have your swords with you. I just feel safer with mine as well," said Nathan grumbling as he walked along. While he wasn't really irritated at Ariel, he was irritated at the situation. "For the very reason you just stated. You should be comfortable with every weapon you know how to use well. But that won't happen if you only carry that one...

Rising early Kat was up and noticed that Seth was seated at the table with his back slightly to the rest of the room. She slowly approached but she could hear him softly talking to himself. She tried to wait but eventually she got curious. "I know Marie, but we're almost done here ... you don't think you'll go early do you? Oh, not really ... Dusty met his first ghoul yesterday ... he'll be ok, but he was out cold again ... I better run everyone will be up soon. I love you," said...

Riding into the small town, it was aptly named "Dresden's Last Chance" There wasn't much to see but a few homes and a few businesses, maybe twenty to thirty buildings in total. Of course there was also the tavern that might have a spare room or two, but it was obvious that the Inn was more there for getting a drink than anything else. The companions reached the town about mid day. Kat only wanted to stop overnight since they were so close and give the horses a break then push on. She...

Once breakfast was finished Ariel wandered the guild grounds once again. She was trying to learn where everything was, and she passed various areas once again including the blacksmith shop where Nathan worked as a blacksmith's assistant. When they first arrived they found that the guild already had a blacksmith, but like the other members he went on missions because he could make more money doing that than he could having the members pay him to fix their weapons. So there was a need for...

Dusty slowly opens his eyes and looks around and sees he's in a very nice room and Suzan is sleeping with her head down on the bed in a chair she's pulled up to the bed. It looks like she's been watching over him. As he groggily reaches out he softly touches her head, where he then starts to slowly stroke her hair. It seemed amazingly soft to him as he did. He always wondered how women always managed to keep their hair soft like that. "So she loves me huh? I guess that's why I'm more...

Before lunch had been served Dusty had already spoken with the King. Even though he tried hard to keep the crystal phones they created a secret from the public, the King while bragging about them, had shown his off to a few of the nobles and visiting dignitaries. That was enough to spark a huge interest in them. Suddenly it was seen as a favor to the crown to have a few people outfitted with them, and a few others tried to curry huge favors with him to get one. Dusty and his friends kept...

While Kat had waited that morning for the three of them to arrive quite a few men had tried to "chat her up" as they passed by her going either into the city or as they left. Even in her generally loose fitting travel garb they saw the gem that she was. Somehow she managed not only to talk to them in a friendly manner, but she also managed to get some useful information while not offending anyone or giving the impression that she was willing to go to bed with any of them. Even though she...

The four women entered the large city and quickly blended in with the rest of the inhabitants. Suzan was just a little unhappy Dusty wasn't with her though it had only been a little over a week since she left Dusty and headed out for the mission. Although she missed her husband, she was also really charged up to be here and was well ready to take on a new mission like this. It took them several days of travel by ship and a few more days of hard riding and just barely stopping for anything...

Amber came into the house and kicked off her boots. She then put her pack down beside the door, took off her twin swords, and then leaned those swords against the door next to her pack. Her parents would be around somewhere, and after she found something to eat she would go find them. She had dropped Logan off in town, as he wanted to visit, but she only wanted to go home and unwind. As she walked down the hallway she had the same thoughts she usually did when she passed through...

Dusty felt like he was submerged in warm water. It was strange because while he couldn't see, he could feel everything. The feeling made him feel like he was surrounded by nothing and yet at the same time by everything. He could feel shapes, colors, sounds, even smells. He could sense everyone around him and as strange as it sounded he could sense himself. It was like he was looking at himself but he wasn't looking at himself. As Dusty was trying to puzzle that out, he felt child like...

Dusty and Suzan reached the double doors that lead to the council chambers. They had passed a few offices that the council members and others made their own. Now they were at their destination. There was a single desk outside the council chambers, and at it sat a very striking and attractive red haired woman. She looked to conceivably be in her mid-thirties, but with mages that didn't mean anything. She was dressed in similar robes as the guard out front with the same sash over her...

Wolfgang wouldn't admit it but he was really looking forward to Kat's visit shortly. Dusty and Suzan quickly made a few plans between them, agreed on them, and then set about separately doing them. First thing Dusty wanted to do was make sure the kids were taken care of. Dusty, Suzan, Daniel, and Rachel all suddenly appeared on the pad next to Lori's home. As the five of them worked their way through the dungeon, they were surprised that they no longer found any opposition. There just didn't seem to be anything that approached them or tried to attack them. That bothered Dusty. The only thing that made it worse was the occasional dripping sound of water from somewhere in the distance as they made their way deeper into the dungeon. "This is...

Melkin had to admit that Dusty was coming up in the world. When he brought him here he was someone who had nothing and had to start at the bottom. A bloody and very upset Suzan and Anita made their way back to the palace just as the Sun was cresting over the horizon. They had already made the stop by Tabitha's mother's house the night before to inform her of what happened. Needless to say it wasn't something they wanted to do, but knew that they had to and it was something they owed the only real victim to pay the ultimate price. Even though Suzan felt she should tell her, Anita insisted that because her death was her fault she...

Battlemage Book 7 the Sound of Sensual JusticeChapter 7

"ELLIOT!" screamed Kathryn as she then covered her mouth with both her hands. Surprisingly, Elliot again appeared to focus on the fact that her left hand was over the top of her right with the plan gold band shining in the light as she did. But as Kathryn looked into the doorway headed into the kitchen she saw the man she was going to marry looking at her with shock etched on his face as he stared at her. William was surprised to see him standing there once Kathryn called out his name...

Battlemage Book 7 the Sound of Sensual JusticeChapter 12

Much later that night found Kathryn sitting in the Inn, not all that far from the four travelers, as they spoke to one another about the different sights in the city. She couldn't believe her luck that she overheard where they were staying from the secretary. One of the things she could also do was make herself virtually invisible in a crowded area. Well that wasn't exactly true. What she did was mentally encourage others not to see her. That worked out well over the years where she...

Battlemage Book 7 the Sound of Sensual JusticeChapter 10

As Kathryn headed in through the doors of The Watered Duck she did her best to slowly approach William to talk to him. "Hi William, I've not seen you around for awhile. Not for months at least. How's it going," asked Kathryn in a friendly manner. She was trying to be as pleasant as she always was when they used to be friends. "Oh hey Kathryn how are you. I've not seen you around in a while either," said William smiling up at her. For some reason this afternoon his attraction to her...

Battlemage Book 7 the Sound of Sensual JusticeChapter 8

For the next two weeks Kathryn didn't go out. She didn't go anywhere and she wasn't capable of working in her parents store without breaking down within a few minutes of sitting behind the counter. The counter faced the window and she was always reminded each and every time she looked out of it how she and William signaled each other when he was in town. Her friends came to see her the day after the wedding didn't happen, but at first she refused to see them. Then gradually she agreed...

Terry Southard was just finishing his shift as a guard after midnight for the Baron and he needed to blow off some steam. He and his friend Tate Michaels has just been transferred to Baron Charles deNorma's manor from Ravenswind. The Baron called it his castle but it was really just a large summer home at best. Terry really didn't want to be here, but the Baron needed some men and the Grand Duke Henry deGual decided to send them to foster better relations and strengthen the Baron's...

Battlemage Book 7 the Sound of Sensual JusticeChapter 5

"Kathryn, so have you and Elliot finally set a date?" asked Marcie excitedly. "Yes we did! We decided on next month! Elliot said that he finally has saved up enough money to buy the house I wanted plus a few acres for us. I love him so! He will finally be able to quit that second job and just work the one he likes," said Kathryn smiling. "Boy he just spoils you rotten! Most men would have asked you to help them save," said Marcie with a touch of jealousy. "I know! But he said that...

3190 seasons previously before current times "Beth! Beth! Where are you? Are you here in the house?" called out Wolfgang as he started down the hallway. As he moved around the house, everything looked similar but somehow different. In spots there was dust and cobwebs, but not enough to make the house look abandoned. But no matter where he looked he didn't see Beth anywhere. Heading outside he noticed two young boys just outside his door. One was leaning with his back against the wall...

Battlemage Book 4 the Red DragonChapter 9

The meeting with Rayne's parents, Aric and Brianna, went really well Matt thought. Matt met her father Aric, and if he thought the boys were larger than life, he was shocked at the father. His presence seemed huge to him. But strangely, other than a silver forelock, Aric didn't look like he could possibly be a day over thirty at best to Matt. To Matt Aric seemed far too quiet, friendly, and gentle to be the famous Battlemage he had heard of. Didn't they only love death and destruction...

"So all the tests prove that Beth is now resistant to all forms of poison?" asked Anne-Marie as she put down one of the various reports that she had been looking over in front of her and leaned back in her chair. She now had the six of them in her office once again and she was looking them over. Once they returned to the guild, the first thing Ayden and a few of the mature Sisters did was to check out Beth. He was the best able to tell them what he did and the few White mage they had...

Battlemage Book 10 Darkness Under a Scarlet MoonChapter 8

Groaning Terrance rolled out of the wreckage of the bookcase he was lying in. There were a few sharp points and splinters he pulled free of his skin, but thankfully none were in his face or eyes. As he looked over at the ruined mess that was a side table he saw the light stirring of Rory. "Hey, are you ok?" asked Terrence tiredly "How can any one person have that much strength?" asked Rory as he finally opened his eyes and looked at Terrance. "The way he threw us I think he only...

"Are you ready? We don't have to do this if you really don't want to. We might be able to find another way. Or we could find someone else, or..." said Kat as she looked at Rory. Rory reached out and put his hand on her arm and gently held it. "Kathryn, we don't have a lot of time and it's not like it's our first time together, remember? Ariel is running loose and it's only a matter of time before she runs into a caravan or something else, and a lot of innocents become harmed...

Battlemage Book 1 Beginnings and DiscoveriesChapter 13

Aric worked hard while he was at the academy. And while it was grueling work, it was getting him where he needed to be. He wanted to finish fast to be back in Andrea's arms. He was ready to be married and with all that it entailed. The professors couldn't believe how fast he learned, and he seemed to be ready for any class he could take. The only exception was the class for Applied Black Magery, that class he refused to take. He didn't like the necromancy involved and flat out refused to...

"ARRRGGHHH!! What do we do now!" asked Andrea for about the fourth or fifth time since getting to Daven's office as she paced back and forth. Daven leaned back and watched her pace. Even though she was severely agitated, her pacing, and the waving of her arms in that dress, was doing wonders for her anatomy. No wonder he loved that dress on her and he thought again no wonder he had always wanted her. Once he got her unwound she was a tiger in the sack. He would really miss their time...

While Aric was making his way to see Aaron, Andrea and Daven were still shocked over Aric's announcement that he was through with them. To the best of their knowledge he never gave up on anyone. But for all intent and appearances he had on both of them! And to make it worse he was going to keep his word, they knew he would. Andrea still sat on the floor stunned. "Aric is done with me," she thought really worried. "Aric said he is done with me? That can't be! What am I going to do? I...

"Nana what was that?" asked a worried Gem. "I'm not sure. It felt like we hit something. But the ship isn't moving forward anymore and it's not sinking. But I do hear a lot of yelling, but I just don't know," said Brianna. Brianna and Gem were in a windowless room with the door bolted from the outside. But with their sparse clothing, or lack there of, they could clearly feel that it was now way colder than it was before. The reason for their confusion was that they felt the boat...

"What... ? What does he mean that Aric doesn't love me as much as he did Andrea? How could he say that he knows for sure that Aric only stayed with me because I was the only person he had sex with? Aric's not that type of person! "No, that couldn't be it. He's just trying to make me feel bad. Aric loves me more than he ever loved her, I know he does. I just know he does, " thought Brianna, but deep down she was starting to wonder if there was really any truth to that...

Battlemage Nonetheless Book 6 ApprenticeChapter 4

Galvin sat on the cliff side with his legs dangling as he sat overlooking the city. It was a very prosperous city that originally had been a town that was built against the side of a cliff so that it could only be raided from one direction, and all the defenses had been developed to protect from that direction. But over the years the town had grown, as well as changes in modern warfare. Now if someone wanted to give the city a good pasting they could do it in relative safety from where he...

Suzan could tell by the rising and setting of the sun that she had been here at least a week and a half so far. Battlemage Nonetheless Book 1 DisplacementChapter 10

Once they came to the city they asked for directions and they headed for the address they were given. They found themselves in front of a very large museum with rod iron gates that were swung wide open. They entered and were shown into a very nice, but a very cluttered office. There were books stacked on every table. But at least the center desk was clear. As the secretary showed them in she smiled big at Dusty and offered him her hand as she showed them all into the office. And once he...

After making their way to the address in question they noticed that there was a light coming from what looked to be a cellar door. As they opened the door they saw there was a lantern lit by the door but the others close by it were out. But a few feet after those the rest were lit again. Marie said she was going first, and they followed her down a narrow passageway that seemed to go down for about two stories then leveled out. As they leveled out they realized that they were headed to a...

Dusty and the others made pretty good time over the last day and a half to the huge mountainous expanse in the desert. Dusty would never have expected this if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes. It didn't make sense, but he was still learning things. There was one point when Kat called them close and said they were being followed. Dusty leaned over his horse, using just one stirrup to support his weight, reached into an inside pocket, and then hung like that as he buried something close...

Dusty got up early the next morning and found that not only was DJ up, but he already finished some light stretching, completed a run around the house a few times, and was now seated at the kitchen table entertaining himself as he waited for everyone else to get up. Laughing to himself he found it interesting that the boy had similar habits as himself. "I see your up early, any reason for that?" asked Dusty as he got a cup of something out of the icebox and then leaned against the counter...
