Brad and I were officially a couple now. After I heard him play once I told him he was more likely to end up as a rock collector. Neither one of us could drive, which was another obstacle, since we lived about four miles apart. Only about a dozen people were invited, and his friend's parents would be there to supervise. No alcohol of course, and everyone was to be picked up by 1:00 a.m. I didn't think my parents would even let me go, but they had a big discussion about it, and mom convinced dad that they had to let me grow up sometime. I had thought that mom would be the hard one to convince, but I guess it was another one of those father-daughter things.
The party was kind of lame until about 11:00. That's when the chaperones disappeared. I guess they got tired of watching awkward teenagers trying to pretend they were adults. Hell, I don't know, maybe they snuck off to have a little new years fuck.
