After the Officer Longfellow left, they just looked at each other. I stood up and held my hands out both women. Each lady took a hand, and then I pulled them up into a hug. Both women again burst into tears. I just pulled them tighter. Looking over my shoulder, I called Tammy and Julie to come on out. The girls came running out of the kitchen with tears in their eyes. Coming up to me they joined the hugging.
I just stood holding all the crying women, for what seemed like hours. More like twenty minutes. When they had calmed down enough to think, I said to them, "Let's go back into the kitchen. We need to finish our talk, and decide what our next move will be.
We all went in and I had them sit down; I asked each of them what they wanted to drink. They all wanted some wine to calm their nerves. As I got their drinks, I asked if they wanted something too eat. They all shook their heads no. "Tammy, Julie, go easy with the wine please."
They looked up and nodded.
After I sat down at the head of the table, I looked at each one till got their attention. I spoke, "Now we all must make some hard decisions here and now. We will go to the morgue tomorrow and claim the bodies, then get hold of a Funeral parlor to set up the Funeral. I looked at them till they nodded. Then we will go to our Lawyers office to straighten out the mess they left us in."
I said "I think Charlie used the same firm Dad used. If he did, Betty, you can come with us at the same time. The company too, last that I knew was with the same firm Dad used".
Betty nodded and said, "Yes, that's right. We used the same firm your dad used."
"Thanks Betty."
"Dad showed me his will last year."
Sharon gasped and then said, "He never showed it to me."
"Sharon, I know he never showed it to you. He did that for a reason. He told me you might not like the way he had written it.
"What?" Sharon hissed?
"I'm still not allowed to say what's in it. Only the Lawyer can."
Sharon said, "Oh."
As they all finished their wine, I told them to go into the living room while I cooked us something to eat.
Sharon and Betty got up and said they would do it.
I looked at them and said "You all need to bond and prepare for all the mess we will have to deal with soon. So please go. I will do as much as I can, but there are limits. Officer Longfellow was very specific in that you two have to go to the morgue for the identifications.
They looked at me and smiled, then nodded. Each came over, hugged me and gave me a small kiss, then left.
As I cooked our meal, I was thinking about the upcoming Lawyers' visit, Betty was in for a major surprise.
Dinner was eaten in silence, each of us in our own thoughts. After we ate, I said, "I will clean up and see all of you in a bit. They got up and went back to the living room. I finished up and went to join them, they all looked up expectantly. Looking at them I smiled, raised my arms. They all came running, to me and I hugged them all the best that I could. Then saying that I was going to bed, it has been a very long and stressful day. Kissing each one gently I left them and went to my room, undressed and climb into bed with many troubled thoughts As I was slowly drifting off to sleep, Sharon came in and sat down on the bed next to me, gently stroking my hair. Looking up at her red puffy eyes, I asked what was wrong.
She asked why I was in here and not in the Master bedroom with the rest of them.
I rolled over and reached out and pulled her to me. Stroking her face as gently as I could, "Sharon," I said, "I thought you all needed time alone."
Looking at me in wonder, "Jeff, we need you to be with us. We all have said we will stay with you; your room is the Master bedroom. If you don't want us in there all you have to do is say so. But we hope you will not. We have to depend on you now and in the future. So please join us my love."
Kissing her softly, I said ok, let's go.
As we walked to the other room, I had my arm around her waist like we were lovers. Well, we were now.
After we arrived in the Master bedroom, I saw all the women setting on the edge of the bed with red puffy eyes. I asked why all the red eyes?
They looked at each other and then Betty said, "Jeff, we all had a lot to think about". "Our husbands cheating on us, Tim and you seducing Sharon and then making her your lover, Tammy and Julie are or will become your lovers, their having a lesbian relationship waiting on you, me falling in love with you, Tim having sex with our husbands, them being killed and if that doesn't take all". "We've already told you we love you and are willing to do anything you want us to do. Stop acting so dumb and insecure"
I just looked at them in awe.
Sharon spoke up, Jeff; we have all decided to live with you for the rest of ours lives. We will have as many babies you want. You are now the head of the household. All and I mean all decisions well be yours to make. We will obey them even if we don't like it. We will not embarrass you if we can help it. Betty and I will discuss this more after we deal with the Lawyers. OK?
I nodded my head, not willing to speak.
Sharon said, "Alright, let's get some sleep, were going to have some very long days for a while."
We all piled into bed. Somehow I ended up in the middle. Tammy and Julie were on either side of me, Sharon and Betty were on the outside. Looking over at Sharon with a questioning look.
Sharon said, "They need to be held by you, Betty and I are older and can handle the pain a little better."
I just nodded, laid back, Tammy and Julie rested their heads on my chest, and soon we were all asleep, with our own thoughts running through our minds.
In the morning, as I woke up, I was alone in bed; I got up and did my three S's toilette: SHIT, SHOWER and SHAVE. Then I proceeded down to the kitchen, all of the women were either cooking or drinking coffee. They looked up as I walked in; then rushed over giving me hugs and kisses. I asked "What's the big occasion?"
Sharon spoke up; "Jeff we wanted to surprise you this morning with breakfast in bed, but you got up early."
"Why?"
"Because, you are now head of household and in charge of all of us. We belong to you. You will have to deal with a lot today and in our future. Remember we'd like you with us to go to our lawyer's office and the hospital."
"Fine," I replied, "let's eat."
Sharon led me to the seat Dad used to sit at. "This is your chair from now on, dear. Please sit."
I sat down and the table was soon filled with food. Nobody really spoke much during the meal. After we had finished Betty suggested we get ready to go to the hospital. I said "I want all of you to dress completely in black including hose's, and either low shoes or heels, as you prefer." Sharon said, "Yes, dear." Betty said "Yes, love." "OK," said Tammy and Julie together. "And, I want you two to stay in the lobby. There's no sense in traumatizing all of us. If I could do it myself, I would, but in fact I'm not next-of-kin." They all decided to wear heels, so as I walked behind and helped them into the car, I got flashes of beautiful legs and thighs. They all had luscious figures, trim waists, tight bottoms, big breasts. The older women were just more voluptuous. I walked behind on the way to the hospital entrance too, thinking: "What a pleasant distraction all these lovely creatures are." Julie turned slightly and spied me looking. She gave Tammy a little nudge and accentuated her wiggle a bit. Tammy joined her and for a few moments, they had tiny grins for me.
We arrived at the hospital and got directions to the morgue to claim our dead family members. It was as gruesome as I had expected. First, there was the pervasive smell of death. Then the walls were big filing cabinet drawers, full of people. We identified ours. All of us had tears streaming down our faces. Betty and Sharon half collapsed and needed my support to walk out of the morgue.
I asked the man in charge if he knew a good funeral home. "Yes," he said and then scrabbled in a notebook for their number.
We thanked him and left. Outside, I called the funeral home and started the process. Looking at our group, I said, "I'll call our lawyer's office and set it up so we can see him tomorrow. We've all suffered enough for today." They both agreed so, as we walked back to the car, I called Stan to let him know we would stop by tomorrow around ten.
He replied, "That would be fine, we have a lot to talk about."
"Thanks, we'll see you in the morning."
On the way home, Sharon and Betty were more animated. Sharon said, "You know, when I'm not absolutely seething at the terrible..." "Fuckup." I interjected. "Yes, fuckup, that those idiots perpetrated, I feel like smiling. I feel very good, in fact."
Betty replied, "I do too. It's rather unnerving when I have to make a conscious decision whether to laugh or cry."
"Yes, I've been mulling that over. We have to make sure there are no outbreaks of merriment at some critical juncture."
After we arrived home, I asked Sharon to call for pizza; I doubted that any of us wanted to cook tonight. They all agreed to that. As Sharon went to make the call, Tammy and Julie went upstairs to change. Betty and I sat on the couch; I pulled her to me and stroked her shoulder gently. It sounded like she was purring. Weird, huh?
