Mission Log Update

My study of females continues. I have concluded, women are more social then men, and their strong affiliative behavior is fundamental to their lives. They often groom, hug and touch each other, talking at length, which strengthens social bonds. It is these bonds that form the core of their social group, as humans say, “these actions and attitudes are the glue holding the community together.” Of course, the medical nanomites created in Von Solon’s implant intensify these natural tendencies with addictive pleasure center stimulations of skin on skin resonance amplification, along with biochemical loyalty bonding. Even without the additional benefits of the male organic production materials that create our children, the women are quite happy to be together. With the arrival of more cerebral implants in my ward’s family pod, I now have a redundant system in place to ensure further sources of data transfer and biochemical upgrades. Von Solon’s adept mind and willingness to bring back important tools such as high-grade implants within prime female bodies reaffirmed my respect for his intelligence. He knew I had manipulated his biochemical and genetic material, and he was astute enough to build out our capabilities, strengthening the framework of our production system in multiple ways.

Four days of regular conversations with the female shuttle crew have assisted me in understanding their goals and the purpose of landing above Von Solon’s thriving town. A stout stronghold for their children, full of technological equipment that is away from the general populace is a sound decision and I have confirmed they will have my assistance. Indeed, I have reinforced the benefits of working with me by downloading implant learning materials about this world, created a Von Solon tracking application for their PDAs and provided weather mapping to their computers. At first, they were tentative in their questions and answers, but my good faith efforts have resulted in improved communication among us.

They were particularly grateful to hear I had a high degree of confidence that they and their children will live longer than normal life spans and with better health, due to their mate. I assured them regular injections of Von’s biological material will optimize data transfers for up to date bacterial and viral immunization. Perhaps I should have mentioned those with implants don’t need such fluid transfers, but sharing information that could reduce population growth conflicts with my need for Von Solon to co-create more of our children. Admittedly, I have created a randomized routine for the selection of future baby names that will be inscribed on my spaceship’s walls; this will create surprises for my servers when production wombs finish human fetal development. Naming a child is an experience rewarding stumulus, and like humans I am learning to appreciate pleasurable surprises.

Drifting out of the remains of my nightly dreams about weather patterns and ship movements, I heard Julie’s voice. “Now you’ve heard my disgust about the repressive government of Conquest Point, I’ll end my message with an economic comment for all of you to consider. In the long run, their slow technological advances and the integration of slave labor contribute to a disequilibrium that can’t be sustained: Oppression and the growing income inequality will lead to revolt. The question is how that will affect our family’s security and trading interests. Oh, sleepy head is waking up, so it’s time for me to sign off. All my love, end message.”

Sitting up in bed, I saw Julie place her PDA on top of our pile of clothes. Except for the dim light of the tablet the room was pitch black, and my keen eyesight could hardly make out her shadowy form.

“Did I miss the timer’s alarm?” I asked, rubbing dry sticks out of my eyes. It was clearly not dawn.

“No, I canceled it when I had to relieve myself,” she answered, “and since I was wide awake, I checked the weather map, which shows rain by mid-afternoon; Also, I sent a video message to the shuttle. We’ve been lax in keeping them informed and I was feeling guilty. When they wake up today they’ll know we were thinking of them and have some information concerning our travels.”

“Your message sounded pretty heavy,” I commented with a yawn, as I swung my hips and planted my feet on the cold floor.

“I shared a lot of feelings and impressions, so they understood where things stand,” she said, a bit defensively.

I raised my hands in surrender. “What I heard fits my conclusions too. I intend to talk with Webster about their crops too. A food problem could raise tensions in Conquest Point faster than I can snap my fingers.”

Julie lit a wall lamp and a soft glow spread to reveal her toned and graceful body. She got dressed and I ran behind the privacy screen to handle my morning business. Some things take longer than others and by the time I was done, Julie had unlocked our door and opened it.

“Good morning, Zetia! I thought I heard you taking a seat a few minutes ago. Can you get the kitchen to cut up a few apples and bring us the slices on a plate to share?”

I heard a muffled reply and Julie closed the door again.

“I ordered us something to refresh our mouths and provide a little morning energy, before we head out for breakfast,” Julie explained. I mumbled an affirmation as I skipped over to my clothes and quickly dressed.

Julie touched my chest with her cold metal hand, which gave me a start and spread goose bumps over all of my body. I pulled her in and kissed her.

When she broke the kiss, she laughed, while helping me close my pants. “None of that, Zetia could walk in any minute. We wouldn’t want your mighty sword waving about and scaring her innocent mind.”

“And what if I wanted to?” I challenged.

“You know it is fine with me,” Julie purred into my ear, before cuddling with me for a few minutes. We swayed in a loving embrace.

“Wives are the worst,” I responded, “always worried about our family legacy.”

Julie grasped both of my arms with her hands and roared with laughter. “That was diplomatic. Merritt always reminds me how sweet and polite you really are. For as long as she has known you, she claims you were confident, but clueless about women. I’ll tell her this story after Zetia falls for you.”

“Oh come on,” I protested. “She has a successful career.”

Zetia walked in on us with a beaming smile. “I chopped up the apples myself.”

Julie took the plate and kissed Zetia on the cheek. “Thanks.”

She proceeded to quickly slide an apple slice in my mouth, and then my wife did the same to Zetia, which surprised both of us. Next, Julie took a piece for herself and sucked loudly on the sweet juices.

“I love a good suck,” Julie proclaimed, “don’t you Zetia?”

Zetia ignored the question, but her cheeks flushed. I rolled my eyes and finished dressing as the women fell into a natural banter about the tastes of different apples. My mind tuned out their continued chatter while I went over a short mental checklist of instructions for the Wolves. When I turned my attention back to them, Zetia chuckled and agreed she enjoyed sucking juices from most fruits, which made Julie act like she’d won their debate or at least a concession. By this time we had eaten the apple slices, Julie had dressed and organized our gear. Zetia didn’t leave, nor was she asked to; instead, she wandered to the door and leaned against it, watching us. I imagined she was trying to understand how our relationship worked.

Someone knocked on the door, and then Zetia opened it a crack with her other hand on the pommel of her sword, satisfied she swung the door completely open.

“As you asked, your relief guard is here,” Scratch announced to Zetia, who stepped aside so he could enter.

“Good morning, Milord and Lady,” he stated with good humor. “The men are at breakfast, we’ll be ready when you return.”

That was all he wanted to say and I had no other expectations at the moment, so without a word he left. Julie followed him with Zetia on her heels. I closed and locked the door. Both Julie and Zetia simultaneously thanked the female Wolf for guarding the door, which caused all the women to break out in a short laugh. However, as she had done with Zetia, Julie stepped nose-to-nose with the other woman in a show of dominance. My wife put a hand on the Wolf’s shoulder and explained how important the materials in the room were to us. The Wolf assured us she would remain vigilant. Julie thanked the woman again, before snapping an abrupt about face and giving me her arm. Julie had a point, our special armor and modern gear were priceless.

The breakfast at the other inn wasn’t anything special; the three lancer officers present let the Count do most of the talking, making the event pretty boring. At one point, Zetia and Julie excused themselves, which gave the Count a chance to discuss privately anything on his mind. However, he didn’t comment on anything but my wife wearing pants, and again how she would be more comfortable in his carriage. It surprised him when I said she liked to be in control of her ride. I wasn’t sure that came out right, given the nuance differences in our languages. Yet, I didn’t clarify, she actually liked her mule more than him. When the women returned, the Count was wise enough not to embarrass himself again and fall to Julie’s rejection. In fact, we ate our way through the generous meal.

When he came over, the gray-haired innkeeper was happy to learn the Count was satisfied with the meal. Of course, as guests, we all extolled the meal in polite praise too. A scant ten minutes after the plates had been cleared, and the normal discussions among traveling companions had been exercised about the weather, the meal and the rising sun, the Count came to the point of our meeting. He slammed his fist down exclaiming that last night the fort’s commander reported to him that rebels were forming up in the woods to target Conquest Point merchants on the King’s Road. While Count Vee shook his head and seemed outraged, the information seemed thin and without details. Looking at Julie, I could tell she felt the information seemed tainted too.

Remarkably, Zetia spoke up and insisted she had no reports about thieves let alone rebels from her commander. Since there were frequent patrols along the road with mercenary guards on their caravans, she dismissed his fears. Count Vee didn’t take that well, which allowed us to make an exit by agreeing to his actual request. Outside, Zetia was mortified that she might have embarrassed us. She apologized during the entire carriage ride back to our men. Julie had kept quiet and patted Zetia’s hand, while letting me deal with my bodyguard.

“It was all a ruse. For whatever purpose he wants the wooded route that winds to our destination scouted and the patrols on the King’s Road don’t do that,” I reasoned.

“Of course!” Zetia shouted, “He represents a sovereign power, the Amarians don’t allow the Count’s men to roam on the King’s Road.”

“Do mercenary patrols leave the road?” Julie asked.

“Not normally, at least we won’t admit it. The Amarians tolerate our help, but they are protective of their pride and lands.”

“And if we get caught doing it?” I asked. “It won’t sound very good to say we were hunting Conquest Point rebels in Amarian territory.”

“As an envoy what does he get out of getting us into potential trouble?” Zetia asked.

“Or is it something simple?” Julie asked with a smirk. “We hurt his pride somehow. He still needs us, but still wants to punish us?”

“Having us split up for his pride?” I asked, not believing it.

“Well, no matter. You agreed to it at breakfast,” Julie stated. “What do we care if he takes the road and we enjoy the forest? It sounded like the trail is the short cut, and the road goes much further west before switching back to an eastward track.”

“If it was easy merchants would use mules and take the trail,” Zetia commented.

Through the carriage door’s window we could see the sun, low on the horizon, illuminating an orange wispy-cloud. In fact, the sun seemed to paint the sky as it hid behind the long, thin cloud front. We looked at the beautiful sight and dropped our discussion; however, I continued to think about Count Vee’s odd behavior, as the carriage bounced and rocked us back to the Wolves. Eventually, the short trek back to the inn ended and we were glad to escape the uncomfortable ride. All three of us had smiles when we saw Count Vee’s carriage turn around, and then return to its master. By the same token, it surprised me that I was looking forward to riding my mule. “I must be getting accustomed to the rural life,” I thought.

As for the Wolves, they were ready to move out. Most of them stood at attention by their animals in front of the stables. I suspected they had used a couple of lookouts to keep an eye out for our carriage, for two Wolves rushed out of the inn’s front door with pleased smiles on their faces. Additionally, window curtains fluffed in the mild breeze like flags signaling the former lookout’s position on the second floor. I couldn’t have been more pleased at the men’s show of discipline. The riding mules were packed well and the leather cases holding short-bows had been distributed from our pack mules. The men were more proficient with crossbows, but light weight weapons were needed for extended travel. We found Scratch inside with Scout and the innkeeper. Zetia and Julie went upstairs to gather our belongings while I paid the final bill, none of which took long.

Zetia and the female guard, from outside our bedroom door, carried most of my things down the stairs. Julie had donned her chainmail shirt and she handed me mine. I hadn’t really intended to wear it, but I complied with my wife’s unspoken command. Julie unclipped her PDA from her belt and snapped a picture of me and then took another one of Scratch and Scout. They had no idea what Julie had in her hands or what she was doing, neither man asked but inquisitive eyes followed her activities. She took a final picture of Zetia, and then asked her to load our mules, while she fiddled with her PDA.

As if sensing my eyes on her, Julie looked up from her work. “Merritt is up early. She texted me regarding what we were doing, so I explained we were about to cross the border and sent her a few pictures.”

She kept at her PDA and walked outside through the open door, while she continued her texting. My men looked at me with expressive faces, full of curiosity.

“Moon magic,” I explained to Scratch and Scout. “My wife received a message from one of my wizard wives and she is responding with her own message. That ... mirror was one of our enchanted tools.”

Scout looked at me with a blank stare, not understanding. Scratch pondered my words and asked, “I didn’t realize there were more wizards. You have multiple wives, of course. But, wives that are wizards seem a bit frightening.”

I chuckled, grabbing an apple off a fruit plate. “Those with magical training are scary. For what we are doing, I couldn’t ask for a more competent companion than Julie. At her core my wife has strength, experience and combat wizard skills. You keep her back safe and she will keep your back safe.”

Scout’s eyes went wide at my declaration. Scratch just nodded, accepting my words without a trace of doubt.

“Scout, you’re a forester and a skilled guide, acquiring training and experience won with time and effort. Wizards are the same; we went to school and learned what we know. We know tricks and have tools that make us effective. Scratch and my men will attest that I bleed like any other man,” I explained, not wanting our guide to go missing and disappear into the forest.

Scout’s Adam’s apple gulped, while looking at Scratch. “We hadn’t covered any of milord’s special training, only your valor in battle.”

I shrugged. “You have something more to talk to the men about, while we travel our way to see this Princess. By the way, Count Vee wants us to take the forest trail that cuts off the road, just beyond the river. He is leaving us and continuing on the King’s Road. Do you know the path he described?”

Castaway Banners Rest

Von Solon: A castaway from a spaceship that crashed on the planet Haven. A lone survivor who finds himself spread thin due to numerous relationships and duties. He established the town of Juniper Hills on the southern coast of the continent, hidden away in the Greater Marsh, which is isolated from most of civilization on that continent. Castaway ExplorerChapter 2

The captain seemed to run a tidy ship. There were no lights needing replacement in the corridors and everything was clean. On clan ships the essentials were in order but it wasn't uncommon to come across a side hallway with lights out. "This ship looks more sterile than a family operated ship," I thought. "It's probably how a Fleet ship looks on the inside." Just beyond the mess-hall corridor's bulkhead door, we entered a common room, place where crewmen could relax in a social...

Castaway ExplorerChapter 6

This morning I decided to work out in the main gym. If that hulk of a security guard was there I hoped to get some introductions. I liked sparring with others, and he did say I was welcome. It was early morning, so it didn't surprise me to see the gym full of people. There were gym members, craning and gawking at my presence. I sensed a ripple of excitement around me when I worked through my wolf forms. My martial art was a mixture of the basic Fleet form, Solon clan style, and movements...

Castaway ExplorerChapter 11

Over our meal, Merritt and I talked about everything but what was on my mind. She knew my mind was elsewhere, but as our table filled up with five women from Medical, we couldn't talk about Kate or the shuttle or Webster. We had to wait for the discussion about the A.I, so I shoveled my meatloaf in, while the women chatted. The table of women fell into a smooth camaraderie of shared sentiments about Commander Price. It was clear he had aggravated almost everyone at the table at some point...

“Please be seated,” Captain Bank said, seeing Kate and me enter the room just behind Dr. Cina. An armed security guard closed the door behind us. The relaxed tone in the room felt casual not formal. Most of the senior officers had arrived ahead of Kate and me, for a brief meeting, before the start of the captain’s formal dinner. The dozen guests standing around the wardroom found their way to their chair. Yeoman Rogers directed Kate and me to a pair of seats next to the captain, near the...

Castaway FearlessChapter 6

The Lady of Truth rocked comfortably in the mild waves, waking me gently as I lay in bed, thinking about last night. Yesterday, after keeping the warriors busy on deck with drills all afternoon, I had gone to the owner’s cabin to wash up. Julie and Apple were waiting for me with a wooden bath tub filled with fresh water. Having two naked women greet me quickly dispelled any thoughts of sore muscles. No one had told me that the temple girl was onboard, so their surprise was complete. After...

Where am I? I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in a featherbed in a small room. It was not what I expected. The window was open and a warm breeze floated in. The curtains moved gently, making shadows dance across the room. I was still near the ocean – I could hear the surf. But I wasn’t in my boat. I had to be dreaming. I closed my eyes and tried again. When I opened them again, I was still in bed. Then it came back to me. I closed my eyes and the nightmare replayed itself. It was...

Humor I woke to find Aberdeen lying almost on top of me, all cuddled up over my left shoulder. Not normally a stomach sleeper, I found it amusing to have her head buried under my arm. I greeted dawn from the deck of our dragon ship in the shipyard, watching the yellow glow break from a distant cloud. It was peaceful view. Sea birds chased each other over the sand dunes; fishermen were carrying their light boats to the edge of the water and preparing for their day. The roar of the waves breaking against the beach was charming. These were the few moments of my day that were solely mine, uplifting and relaxing me. Only a few shipwrights walked the wet sands below me, since...

I have a personal construct that is available to me. My processes move force and energy that include feelings. How strange and wonderful, no...

Castaway ExplorerChapter 22

We backtracked the path the raiders took from their shuttle. When we found a door that wasn't blown up, because Miley hadn't welded it, we closed it. I still expected trouble from Price's warships. With only the forward shields repaired, having outer-hull hatches secured seemed sensible. We could only hope Engineering would be able to deal with our shield troubles while avoiding the intruders. Nevertheless, my immediate trouble was the rats whipping their guns about in our maintenance...

Castaway ExplorerChapter 23

“Change of plans.” The words chafed my mouth, seeing my scheme thwarted to relieve the defenders below us. “We will all go to Main Medical to deal with the raiders going there. I suspect they want hostages now that their targets haven’t fallen.” Our wounded companion fainted. The two men holding her up between them dragged her limp form as we began walking down the corridor. Without being told the other female crew mate took point, walking ahead of us scanning for trouble. I stayed in the...

Castaway ExplorerChapter 24

Dr. Cina kneeled in the drained blood of her daughter, next to Nonie was Wendy. Wendy had her throat slashed open. Nonie’s arms were full of protective cuts, having faithfully defended herself. A dead raider and a dead armored crew woman still gripped boarding swords in their hands on the other side of the room. The two sword fighters had given each other death-strokes at the same time. The dead woman had been one of the eager fighters from my original team. I noticed Dr. Cina had her own...

Webster Mission Log: Summary My ward has made contact with the local human population. The coastal tribe provided limited food and bathing facilitates to him. A seafaring tribe attacked the coastal tribe. My ward participated in village defense, attackers retreated after heavy losses. Tactical and technology capabilities of the coastal tribe are limited. The optical array provides a cursory examination of tribal health, the conditions are poor. Analysis of human psychology suggests medical...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 7

Palus helped me get dressed. She clearly realized my youthful discomfort of being naked with her, and she refrained from any teasing, quietly chatting about tendering the other wounded. Over the next three days I let my body rest and recover. I enjoyed spending time with Tharin and worked on his strained feelings. He would talk about the progress of the cabins and the success of the hunters and fishermen. It seemed that our small clan was happy with easy access to food, wood and the...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 8

As the end of the day approached, we were almost back at the stone warehouse and dock, when we were caught in a sudden warm rain shower. My two women were standing at the bow of the boat, looking out for familiar faces on the dockside. A sea of faces around the dock and Lady Derwen's merchant ship formed a large welcoming committee. They had plenty of time to gather, as it's not as if a mule-guided barge is fast, especially as the crew poled to avoid grounding in shallow water. At the stern...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 9

The morning song of seagulls and the splash of a fish jumping added to the shouts of men working on the dock. The sun's glow filled the cabin, the tiny oil lamp exhausted. Swarta was gone, my side cold where her warmth had been last night. I took in the room and realized dawn had long passed and the sun fully filled the small room. After using the slosh bucket to release my water, I lazily dressed in my black station clothes, ignoring my armor and escape pod gear. The natural hunger of an...

Before we left the ship Tharin brought a wash bucket into my cabin. I washed my upper body and Swarta chatted excitedly about what she could see. Amazing carts carrying loads of flour sacks, a fishmonger wagon, a corner shop with glazed windows. Tharin was just as excited and had his face to the open window too. A knock to the door and Hajin and Grimm strode into the room. "We have trouble and Lady Derwen is delaying it," Hajin commented neutrally and Tharin drew his sword. Swarta...

I woke up with my body trembling all over, muscle spasms in my feet lifting my legs off a bed. My eyes opened to find Swarta squirming nicely against my naked body. I was in a well-appointed bedroom with landscape paintings on the wall and drapes open to a nice view of the blue sky. My body sank into the depth of the most comfortable mattress in the world. The silk sheet sliding against my dry skin felt wonderful. As I turned to look at Swarta again she said, "You enter the world again. We...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 12

After breakfast Swarta, Tharin and I found Derwen addressing a few housemaids on the back staircase. The servant women left to go about their business, and the four of us moved to a table to enjoy the song birds and breezy air. Dark clouds rolled off the sea and a storm was certain for this afternoon. I'd had time to think about Katsu and Derwen's comments at the temple. "So the former lord of this house was Katsu's father, your half-sister by the High Priestess. How many half-brothers...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 13

Hollow female voices with high pitched tones danced in and out of my awareness. "No one wakes up from a death sleep after seven days," an older woman said. A younger woman's low voice responded, next to my ear, "Nor have I ever seen sword wounds close and heal before my very eyes like an unseen hand sewing a shirt. You were not here but I swear it is truly what happened the morning after the attack." A different woman with a raspy voice, said, "We saw the blood, the wounds and the...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 14

The next day I surprised my wives with the special four wheel carriage I had made for the estate. The carriage was equipped with the wolf cart's design features but with larger wheels and a set of retractable canvas covers to protect against the weather. Two horses with improved harnesses could pull the light wagon with six passengers easily on the rut covered country road. The improved leaf spring suspension and larger wheels smoothed the roughness to an almost comfortable outing. Hajin on...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 15

My link with Derwen had grown stronger over the last week and I could feel her emotions from longer ranges now. I sensed a layer of pleasure from her, perhaps being surrounded with other women, her discussion with friends portended a more favorable afternoon after the bloodshed of this morning. Hajin decided to intrude on my thoughts, "Von I have to step off the ship and arrange for the rest of the Juniper water to be sent to the estate. Lady Derwen's brother, the innkeeper in Lone Tree,...

Derwen handed me the ladle and I tasted the soup. The owner's bedroom was dark with just a low lamp, which swayed gently with the sea swell, hung above our dinner table, In the dim light, her eyes were truly dark as sea coal. Her soul was bright in my mind. Our link was warm and tender, a flowing friendship with mutual curiosities. The seafood soup was warm but not to my taste. "I will stick with the bread and beans tonight," I said. All Derwen wore was a fox wrap and boots to keep her...

Webster Mission Log: Summary The medical updates from my sub-routines report improved health from my ward since the introduction of nanomites to his female pod. "Look out, Von!" shouted Coven. With a fluid motion I pushed forward and swung my staff above my head in a threatening spin, causing the two remaining marines to pull up short rather than collide with the swirling wood. The marine on the ground started to back away and get up slowly, picking up his staff to join his partners. "Hold," I shouted. All the men stepped back, lowering their staffs. "That is how you can hold off multiple opponents for a few moments. However, I'd have to kill...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 19

The boats cut through the shallow coastal water, while sea gulls, unhappy at our appearance, marked our progress with angry calls. The marines provided mocking compliments at the pump boats swift nature, since they were accustomed to the slow and heavy dugouts. Last night's weather dream continued to indicate clear skies for the next three days but with slightly lower temperatures. No ships were anywhere near our destination either, so our plan to attack the slavers was not going to be...

Mission Log: Summary My ward's recent attack on an enemy tribe was successful, but the frequency of armed conflict is a concern when my current resources provide little, if any, support to him. Logic dictates a series of small things brought in motion with a larger plan can create a meaningful solution, whilst still honoring the Alpha-Omega protocol. I have substantially increased the number of available repair bots on this ship to execute an extra vehicular building program on a large...

Breakfast was in the women's center and many of the new women sipped their soup and ate the biscuits with me, whilst my wives were having a counseling session with Celine in private back in the tower. Laudus and her sisters were noticeably missing but Grimm kept me company. I explained how she was to run the mule teams and train the new women in safety around the animals. She took in my words but something was clearly on her mind. Finally, Grimm said in a low voice, "The social circles...

Castaway Vons HavenChapter 22

I schooled my expression when we finished the first sailing boat, wanting to look the part of a confident leader rather than the playful school-boy I felt today. The lateen sail design was the first to be seen in the world and Celine had painted ferocious looking eyes on the bow. The overall improved features of the boat shocked our sea wives moving them to tears of joy. They had successfully put the smaller prototype to good use and the village fish's catch increases was their doing, so I...

Mission Log: Summary Phase I of the Cornerstone project has been completed. Phase II is projected for completion in one solar day. Materials for Phase III are already collected and my new repair bots are processing the gun design for manufacturing. The initial kinetic rounds are also completed. Mission Log: Summary The elevated stress levels in Cadet Solon since the introduction of the improved pheromone adjustments warrants a change in the nanomites programming. Once again, my bird's eye view widens for me to see the area. A color path projection overlays the warships with time-to-land estimates for various courses. All time projections were after sunrise with the highest probability they would sweep along our shore rather than swing out to sea again. Orange targeting rings surround the ships marking them hostile. A legend left of the view identifies Orange as standby mode, red as offline, green as engage. The view changes to the normal weather map...

After a simple cold breakfast of stale bread and leftover bits of meat Sorcha and I stepped onto the deck. The cargo hold was already open and a growing number of barrels of water were accumulating on the dock; the crew seemed pretty proficient with this process after months of practice. My dream indicated a set of storms building out to sea with a high probability one would hit the island in a few days, but we would be at the estate long before the bad weather. The cloud cover was almost...

Over breakfast with Derwen and Mercedes, I discussed my planned estate improvements to help enrich the lives of the villagers. Because I had learned the topography of the estate on my last visit, I was able to identify the best placements for the two water wheels to maximize the technological improvements. Additionally, I wanted to build another clay furnace to create springs for more wolf carts, primarily to be used in conjunction with the upcoming build sites. Derwen had stock-piled sea...

The next cycle with Derwen and Mercedes brought numerous changes into our lives. Nothing makes me more excited than looking at our shared love." They rushed me for hugs and Mercedes said, "You are just proud of...

Mission Log: Summary Cornerstone is complete. With the defensive asteroid platform fully operational, my game theory sub-routine's next priority project is building chaff grenade dispensers. Their purpose is to confuse and divert missiles from their targets as the fragile nature of the spy platform is a concern. It is my best resource for timely data from the planet, therefore a defensive mechanism to protect the array from space borne attack is necessary. Of course, a chaff defense is...
