Then there’s the community aspect. You see, on Reddit.com, it’s not enough that your subreddit has great content. It also needs to have a very active community behind it that is willing to do a lot to keep the sub alive. And when it comes to /r/yuri, I would say that this requirement is only partially met. While a lot of people upload content here, the posts usually get a few hundred upvotes on the Hot section. Still, this is a lot better than most NSW subs out there that can’t even manage this even though they might have a bigger number of members who have subscribed to them and that’s a big problem.
There are currently around 156,000 people on the subreddit /r/yuri. And since the subreddit has existed since all the way back in 2008, I could safely say that this is a mediocre performance over the long run. You see, if you have well over a decade to attract many people, then I think you should have many more people than just the just over one and a half hundred thousand that this subreddit offers. I feel that they are lacking some kind of marketing on Reddit.com. I know direct marketing is impossible, but they can have collaborations with other hentai subreddits to get more people to subscribe here.

Instead, what you’re met with is a pretty bare subreddit without any added features or collabs with other hentai subs. I mean, it’s not a necessity, but I feel like they would have much better performance if they tried to get some collaborations rolling with their website. The way things currently are, I can’t imagine that many people out there will be coming to /r/yuri if they want to enjoy free hentai content. Many people aren’t so exclusive that they would exclude everything that isn’t Yuri content in hentai. And also, I feel like they could do a lot more with the flairs they currently have that are kinda boring.
But the thing is, it’s not like /r/yuri has a bad design. In fact, I would say that the design of this subreddit is better than most on Reddit. This subreddit has a great avatar, they also have a pretty nice cover photo, and yes, they even have a custom background and not just in terms of color, but they also have some kind of pattern that really looks nice on the sub. Anyway, if you want to enjoy Yuri content, then there are very few places that have as good of a design as /r/yuri. This place really rocks in that regard, and it’s just missing those other things that I was talking about. If they improved all those other aspects of the sub, I feel like their popularity would go through the roof. Let’s hope they think about this!
