When a new day starts, they say it brings exciting adventures and new
beginnings to ones person. In the case of James, the beginnings started two days
ago.
He wasn’t readying himself for new beginnings, but for the extension of what
could only be described in his mind and body as nirvana. Surely the gods above

Driving to his first official date in a long time, James could only reflect on
the past two days adventures. How perfect were they and how real could they

how the day had turned out beyond expectation. The sun was glowing brightly
throughout the sky and its rays were dancing furiously across the hood of his
car. He rolled the window down enough to realize that it was unseasonably warmer
then anticipated.
“The weather man has no clue what he is doing.” He said to himself with a big
grin on his face.
The forecast was for snow. Instead, the skies opened and released a perfect
spring-like day. The air was clear and the dampness from the days past had
dissipated into emptiness. James observed birds flying above and critters
running along the sidelines. He marveled at the day before him and wondered if
this was a sign of goodness in his new life. This perfect day reserved a smile
on his face all the way to the driveway of his objective.
As he entered the drive, his face overcast with eagerness and fear. The house
seemed different to him, bigger, warmer and more inviting than before. The
reality of the moment before him was impending fast. His past experiences in
life left him timid to new beginnings, but the memories of the yesterdays moved
him forward. He stopped the car, shut the engine, took a deep breath and stepped
out. As he walked to the front door, he could feel his knees weaken and his
heart jump a beat. He knew the temptation of his desire was on the other side
waiting.
“You can do this. He’s a good man and you want to do this.” He said sensitively
and convincingly to himself.
With an overpowering feeling of apprehension rushing through him, James simply
knocked on the door with two short taps and one loud. Within seconds, the door
opened. Immediately, James nerves subsided and a feeling of serenity and
pleasure overcame him.
“Hi honey.” Kurt said.
James just stood there and stared in admiration. Kurt was ready for him this
time. He was standing in the doorway with faded jeans hugging his muscular legs.
He wore a cut off shirt, which exposed his rigid cut abs. His hair was groomed
perfectly and hung loosely to his shoulders and a distinct smell of cologne
filled the doorway. Again Kurt wore no shoes but this time, he had no socks on
either. He looked luscious.
“Well, you gonna come in here or stand there all day?” Kurt asked assertively.
“No, no. I’m coming in. It’s just … you … you look awesome.”
“I bet you say that to all the boys!” Kurt chimed smartly.
“Oh yes, every last one of them.” James quickly snapped back with a smile.
The two gods entered the house and just looked at each other.
“It turned out to be an inconceivable day.” James said
“Did it? I hadn’t even noticed.”
“Oh yeah, it’s almost unbelievable how warm and clear it is out there.” James
said insistently. “Unseasonable for sure.”
“Very cool.” Kurt replied.
Unexpectedly, they ran out of things to say. James just stood there and watched
his dream man walk across the room. Kurt, feeling the strain of silence in the
air, walked into the kitchen to pour two cups of coffee. He carried both cups
back into the living room and handed one to his date. He proceeded to saunter to
the back window and look outside.
“It’s so beautiful when all the trees are undressed like that. Makes the land in
the yard look so much larger.” Kurt said contemplatively.
“How much property is back there?”
“Three acres or so.”
“Damn! I didn’t realize there was so much.” James said astounded.
“Oh yeah. I love to stroll it from time to time and just enjoy nature. I know it
sounds inane, but I guess I’m just goofy that way.” Kurt said apologetically.
“Your not goofy at all. I would say you’re a romantic. I like that about you … A
LOT!” James stated. “A romantic, passionate, sensitive and gorgeous man. WOW!”
Kurt just smiled, nodded and altered the subject quickly.
“Would you like to go for a stroll? See the land and just chat?”
“It’s a wonderful day for it. I would like that. Lead the way kind host.”
Just as they reached the back door, Kurt stopped and turned around. James was
caught off guard and seemed mystified.
“Before we go, may I kiss you?” Kurt asked
James didn’t even give it a thought. He leaned forward and placed his soft lips
on his dream. They gently pressed their lips together and dropped their tongues
into each other. The kiss was soft and quick, but very genuine. James felt a
sensation below that made him smile.
“Yup, way cool.” James said with a big smirk on his face.
“What?”
“Nothing sexy, lead on.”
The two men walked to the back yard. James was astounded at the amount of woods
back there. It was like another world to him. Living in the city all his life,
he rarely had the occasion to enjoy nature like this. Trees, bushes and grass
climbed the subtle hill. It was like a clandestine wonderland. Kurt led the way
holding James’ hand, and up the hill they walked. To James, this was a scene out
of an enchanted book. Birds were singing, trees were ruffling, sunlight was
peeking through the branches and a distinct aroma was piercing their presents.
“What is that?” James asked.
“What is what?” Kurt replied.
“That striking smell. It’s like Jasmine but so apparent and simple to smell.”
“I have no clue. Where is it coming from?”
“Over there.” James pointed over the hill. “Lets check it out ok?”
“Lead on.”
James led and Kurt followed as they peaked the hilltop. James stopped and his
heart filled with emotions he had never felt before.
“You ok baby?” Kurt asked.
“Oh my god, you are incredible!”
Before them was a vision from a fantasy story one could only dream. Kurt had
cleared an area of the woods and placed a fur rug on the ground. The rug was
surrounded by dozens of roses. Incense burned from three burners all
illuminating the smell of Jasmine. There was a large basket overflowing with
fruits and exotic foods. Two bottles of wine were chilling in coolers. Candles
lit in clear enclosed cylinders surrounded the entire area. There was a radio
sitting on a tree stump 15 feet away. Kurt walked to it and turned the CD player
on. Soft vocal music streamed out and filled the atmosphere. Kurt turned to his
gentleman friend, looked him dead in the eyes and said:
“Welcome to my dream.”
James was stunned and amazed beyond words.
“You did this for me?”
“Nope, I did this for us. Figured a first date, might as well make a first
impression. Besides, you inspired it.”
“Honey, you made a first impression two days ago.”
“Yes, as did you. But honestly, I wanted this moment to be magic. No
expectations, no explanations and no worries, just you, the moment and me.
Deal?”
“Deal!” is all James could say tenderly and with passion.
Kurt sat down on the rug of fur and James situated himself closely beside.
”We have grapes, strawberries, banana slices, caviar, crackers, cheese,
pepperoni, whipped cream, honey, wine and a few other surprises for later.” Kurt
listed.
“And we have each other.” James said still thunderstruck.
“I sure hope so.”
“Oh we do. You are unbelievable. When did you do all this?”
“In my spare time.”
“Oh yeah, and you didn’t realize what a beautiful day it was out today … sneaky
man.”
“Well, one mustn’t always be decipherable, right?”
“Kiss me you sexy man!” James said insistently.
At that moment, it was as if the heavens opened and the gods above placed a life
long spell on these two Adonis’. This was no longer life, as they knew it. The
kiss was Karma and their hearts were molding into each other and the mold was
taking form.
