Cripple Creek
I grew up in Cripple Creek, a small town in the mountains of east Tennessee. It was settled after the Revolutionary War and supported the only gristmill in the area. The mill included a dry goods store and trading post, which met most of the farmers' needs. They would trade produce or stock while their grain was being milled and bagged for sale.
