Two possible meanings for the bar's name: the girls got demonstrated on, and/or they got demolished.

**Of course, the drawings are simple; they were started on napkins!! But I do think the artist captured the
graphic activity.
As the 1920s had its i*****l speakeasy clubs for alcohol and entertainment, the early 1970s had membership only, very private, sex clubs. Not only were they meeting places for standard swingers, there were other specialized clubs that contained well hidden performances of graphic sex acts.
The performance oriented venue stressed everything that you could not see at a normal swinger club. Understand that this was an era when even casual swingers were investigated by local district attorneys. Lives were ruined by such investigations. So, a stage performance of radical sex practices needed to be well hidden and protected by enforcement staff.
There were no cell phones back then, and cameras of all types were banned.
A stage show wanted no proof available, outside of what was seen live. And that was the case for “The Demo Bar”. It was a converted storage area on Indianapolis’s south side. Such a building was actually cheap, on that side of town. The bar and performance stage could be setup quickly, and moved just as quickly, if necessary.
The Demo Bar was influenced by the movie “Behind the Green Door”. The owner wanted to recreate the Roman pagan sex orgy and put it on stage for an audience to see. He wanted to have extreme sex being done, with loud pounding music, and have a controlled video feed to the first generation of projector monitors. Though the cameras around the stage were supposed to be fed only straight to the large monitors that were s**ttered about the room, it is quite suspect that there might be an old Betamax or VHS analog recorder somewhere, where it could not be seen. You know, just tapped in and recording away. But, that was never proven.
The Demo Bar was delivering extreme services, during a time of repression. They hired the best looking, trim, athletic, girls...usually white. And they hired the most massively hung blacks that they could find. The concept was simple. Just let the black guys fuck the living HELL out of the white girls. Anything that could be done with a large hard black stick was not only fair game, it was desired.
Members paid an annual dues of one hundred dollars, and a singular performance extra fee of fifty dollars. All that was quite high priced, in the seventies. But, then, the show was unlike anything that could be seen within hundreds of miles of Indianapolis. Maybe unlike anything within a thousand miles?
IF YOU WANTED A BETTER VIEW, YOU COULD JUST TURN AROUND AND LOOK AT THE SCREEN.
The bar actually came up to and went around the FUCK stage. Members could bring their guests, sit close to the real action, and observe close ups on the video screens. Two cameramen, with tube cameras and long cables, kept moving around that stage, trying to get the best close ups. At this bar, the goal was heavy duty assaults upon the girls, and the visualization for all to see.
My own wife worked at The Demo Bar. She was only scheduled once every six to eight weeks. You will understand why that interval was important. The drawings supplied for this story were done by a friend amateur artist. Remember that no photos could be taken. If that happened, you would be bounced out, your camera destroyed, and you would be banned from the bar. Oh, and boyfriend, fiancee and husband are examples of banned visitors. This bar had a lot of experience, and knew, the hard way, what all could go wrong with a boyfriend, fiancee or husband present.
So, I had my artist friend attend one of my wife’s stage shows. He doodled innocently on napkins. The bouncers saw nothing wrong. The art buddy took those home, and his burnt in memory of the event, and then did the reconstruction. And, when he did, I was shocked at the details that he presented. He did his art big. I have a forty eight inch version of the drawing seen here in this story. Instead of zooming in, you need only walk up close to the drawing. It is obvious that the artist tried to save the most graphic images of what happened to my wife and the other girl on stage. He thought that you would just look “closely” at those areas of intense interest.
The event was my wife’s last night at The Demo Bar. She told them that was “it”, at least for a while. The wife was finishing a Masters, doing out call, and fucking regulars back in the Lafayette, IN area. So, she was a busy girl.
Did not know that one of the wildest scenes for my art friend to capture had been scheduled. The owner had decided to give my wife a BIG BANG farewell. He got his nastiest BBC group, and told them to fuck the two girls hard. There was an actual bonus for gaping and tearing. The owner had sent out special invites to his members, promising that “the fuckmeat will really get it this Saturday!”
My wife arrived at The Demo Bar around nine thirty, for a 10 PM show. Since he was the only one would who could, the owner snapped a photo backstage. He wanted the kind of photo that he could post, for the owner had a board at the entry with profile photos of all the girls who had gotten the demo treatment at his bar. If your photo was on that board, then you were known as a really filthy slut.
Since he promoted it, the owner made sure that particular Saturday main show had the five best BBC in the area. They not only needed to be big, they needed to have been tried and tested. They needed to get and keep a hard on, in an era long before Viagra. They also needed to have the experience of ripping through a white girl.
A dark haired girl, who was built like my wife, joined my wife in the prep room. In this room, they took everything off. The dark haired girl just left everything off. My wife merely added her red bottoms and a red scarf. Of course, she knew none of that would last long. Perhaps the dark haired girl was correct...just get to the meat.
REMEMBER, THIS PARTICULAR AUDIENCE CAME TO SEE ACTION.
My artist friend took it all from that point. At the time, when I later saw his finished product, I thought he was ruthless and overly graphic. His final presentation, that forty eight inch painting, was extremely graphic, when one looked very closely.
That was mentioned to him, and he got defensive, “You wanted to see what was happening! What you see here is merely a portion of what happened to those two.” At least the artist was not required to capture a complete division of a girl. Both of these girls stayed bright and alert, and both got to actually keep track of the assaults.
