He hadn't needed a barn, but had a large shed to do maintenance on cars, guns, (He was a certified gunsmith) and to reload all the ammunition they used, and a few other odds and ends. He would pack all their cloths, and a few other things, and hook up to Irene's boat to pull back with them. They would build their house before they brought the furniture up. He would bring Essie and Nola with him so they could have a say in what they brought back right away, and drive some of the cars back.

They worked together on MANY projects, and had the UTMOST confidence of each other. The phone came out of Dave's pocket as he was speaking. He punched a set of numbers into it, explaining that the owner's name was Landis. He was about six blocks from Dave's lot, and was a "Good Ole Boy!" in Dave's estimation. Dave spoke to him, telling him what they wanted, where, and how much they would be willing to spend. Carl, Mr. Landis's first name, assured them he could build what they wanted for probably a good bit under that price. He had several blueprints in his cabinet that sounded like what they wanted. He would come by tomorrow, at 10 in the morning. He got the address of Billy and Cathy's house, and told Dave, "Ya better watch out fer me. I been lookin' fer trouble since I got my divorce. The old woman had 'er chance, but that prenup took care o' HER. She got 'er clothes, 'er car, and 'er jewelry. NOTHING MORE, and NOTHING LESS!" There weren't any k**s, so she gave up on c***d support. Judge laughed at 'er when she asked for it. Asked 'ER, HOW do ya pay fer sumpin ya ain't got? Gavelled 'er down and told 'er to feel good about what she DID get."

The ladies stepped to the door and announce that supper was ready. Gail had made a large meat loaf, a bowl of mashed potatoes, peas, and a jar of the poke salad that William had put up. Jerry and Mary were coming over, along with MIke, MIsti, and THEIR family. Sharon and Carol were coming with Jerry and Mary.
It was a few more minutes before they arrived, but it gave everyone a chance to wash up. William and Dave kissed each of them, and Dave took Sarah. George was far too busy to be bothered with his Daddy. HE was busy eating at MOM'S DINER. Sharon sat back while Carol fixed plates for each of them. George was almost finished. He was growing by leaps and bounds. He had, in 4 months, more than doubled his birth weight. Tin Lizzie, as they had called Tod and Betty's baby, (she was NEVER quiet) had just missed doubling HER weight. Most babies slept for 18 to 20 hours a day for most of their first year. She barely slept 14 to 16 hours a day. She loved being in Mommy"s, Daddy's, or big brother Sam's arms, and had to be THERE to be put to sleep.
Tod AND Betty had been amazed at Sam's reaction. They had thought he was good with Leo, but, he was even BETTER with Lizzie. Betty had fixed her carrier to fit Sam, and he went around most of each day, holding Leo's hand, and carrying Lizzie. He even fixed his wagon with a pillow for a cushion, and, putting Lizzie's carrier in it, and Leo sitting on the cushion. Pulled them around most of the day. He had even asked his Mother to show him how to change diapers. He did everything except feed her. Someday, they agreed, Sam would be the best Father a k** could ask for. They had, already discussed calling him Sammy, in the future. Sam, Misti's Mom, and he both answered when somebody just called out "SAM." "Sammy" would be a good name for a little boy.
Cathy retold about her visit to see the Doc. Essie asked, " Does he do ALL his patients like that?" All the women nodded, and smiled at her. When they finished, the table was cleared, and the kitchen cleaned. They adjourned to the living room, glasses of ice tea, or koolade in their hands.
