He was dead before they could get out of the arena. The whole town had turned out for his funeral. He had been laid to rest with his adored Grandparents. They had all grieved for almost a year. Sharon worst of all. She and him had spent all of her 16 years together. He was half-way between her and Dave in ages. It had been the first and only time a funeral had been held in the arena.
David had pulled the cars down by the barn, where the wedding had been held, and Billy had insisted that they be put inside, until he could take them out, the next day, and clean both of them thoroughly. He teased both the ladies about letting them look like places a self-respecting pig would run away from. They BOTH promised that he would rue the day he had said that. Even, or especially, parents were teased as much as anybody. It was what made them so close.
David and James walked back with Billy and Rick, talking about how the stock was looking, and telling about Robbi's running naked out to see Li'l Popper the other morning.
