The elder one was as tall as 5.8 and the younger one was 5.6. I was wishing that the elder son marries my daughter as he was smart in all ways. I know both of them very well. I had seen them from their birth. I had even taken care of them when they were very young.
It was common to get married to a relative in our community. We considered that as safe and happy marriage. It was a bit of suspense regarding who would marry my daughter. Among all siblings, I was alone with my children as my husband left me about 10 years back to marry his office colleague.
I was living in my parents home with my parents and children. Whereas my siblings were living separately in their respective homes. I was the dearest of all the children to my parents. Maybe that’s why I ended up staying with my parents. My parents and my siblings forced me to marry again.
But I didn’t like their advice and opposed it many times. To describe me, I am a fair and beautiful lady. I was fondly called as Suma. My close friends and some of my relatives describe me an hourglass figure as I had the perfect figure. My body stats are 36D-32-38 and I stand 5.4 tall.
I was then 38 years old. I had maintained myself well by doing yoga and exercises after my husband left me when I was 28. One fine Sunday morning at 6 am, we got a call from my eldest brother. He said that he is coming with his family for discussion on marriage.
I thought he’s coming to ask my daughter to any of his sons. I told my parents and they felt happy hearing that. All of us got ready and prepared a delicious breakfast. I wore red colored saree with yellow colored blouse. I took some time to do makeup and made myself look beautiful.
The dress was a bit tight and figure hugging. My curves were on display. As my blouse was stitched as per new modern design, half of my upper back was exposed. My boobs were held tightly inside the blouse in a pointed shape with my cleavage was visible.
It looked as if my boobs are trying to protrude out. I draped my pallu around the blouse. It was needless to say that I looked gorgeous and much younger in that saree. I helped my daughter to get ready. She wore pink colored saree. I was 5.4 in height and my daughter was 5.2 in height.
After seeing both of us, my parents were teasing me telling that they are still wondering who’s the bride. They even said that their grandson might ask their daughter instead of their granddaughter. I got angry with their naughty comments. Seeing my anger, they told me it’s just a joke.
They asked me to to take it lightly. I ignored their naughty comments. My brother’s family came in the car at 9 am. My brother, his wife and his 2 sons had come by car. My parents and I invited them and asked them to take their seats on the sofa. My parents and I also sat in front of them in our big hall.
My parents started the discussion by telling that they are happy about their arrival and discussion on marriage. I also smiled. My brother had a slightly serious look on his face. He was a little uncomfortable. My parents noticed that and asked him to speak.
He started speaking by telling that he does not know how to start. He is scared and worried to start the discussion. I said there’s nothing to get scared or worried. I asked him to be comfortable as he is my eldest brother. This marriage discussion was known to all of us for many years.
But my brother still had a worried look on his face. With some difficulty, he said that he can’t see me single and wants me to get married again. I said am already 38 and happy being single with my 2 children. After a long pause, he said that his eldest son wants to marry me! I was shocked to hear that.
I shouted at him by asking him whether he’s making any sense. My parents also got angry and shouted at him. They asked him whether he’s making any joke. There was a pin drop silence for a few minutes. All their family members including my brother bent their heads without speaking.
I shouted again at them to speak. After a long pause, my brother’s wife started speaking. She said their elder son wishes to marry me. She continued telling that they spoke to him several times to change his mind but their elder son was adamant. I and my parents remained silent for a while.
Then my brother broke his silence and started speaking. He said their elder son likes you. I again shouted asking them in what way. Then my brother said that their elder son has seen me since his birth. He likes my behavior, character, and everything.
He continued telling that his elder son is begging them to fulfill his biggest wish. I looked at his elder son (my nephew). He had bent his head and remained silent. My blood was boiling. I was very angry and asked them to get out of our house. My parents asked me to calm down and sit in my place.
My parents started telling that this is something weird and unacceptable. My brother then replied that he thought about this for almost a month and then finally decided to ask this proposal. He also said that his younger son likes my daughter and wants both proposals to proceed.
I calmed myself and regained composure. I said that giving my daughter to either of their sons was discussed earlier. I was happy to give my daughter to any of their sons. But I said that I can’t offer myself to their elder son. All the while during discussions, both of my brother’s sons were silent with their heads down.
After some pause, my brother started telling that he always wished good for me and my children. He said how he felt for me for the last ten years and how he wished me to get married again. He even said that God had sent his son on earth with some good purpose to help his youngest sister.
My parents refused to accept his arguments and said that society will not accept this. It’s better for him not to think on these lines. My brother fell on my parent’s feet and started begging them to convince me. He started crying. Seeing him crying, my parents also became emotional.
Seeing my parents getting emotional and my brother crying, I felt for them. I started speaking by telling that I was already 38. His elder son is still 27 and there’s a big gap of 11 years. I told him not to spoil his elder son’s life as he is still young and talented. He commands a good proposal outside.
I also told him that his elder son maybe smart in all things but not in this proposal as he’s proposing his own aunt. He has clearly not thought of his future. After a while, his elder son looked at me and told that he has thought enough about this proposal. He’s very clear about it.
I was stunned by hearing his words. I shouted at him by telling him how dare he speaks to me like that. I started scolding him. My parents stopped me and allowed him to speak. He started telling my parents that he has a big crush on their daughter for so many years and he loves truly.
He said he’s more than happy to give a second life to me. He came towards my parents and started crying. As he was the first grandchild to my parents. He was pampered the most by my parents. Seeing him cry, my parents began to think about the proposal. I was worried about all the things happening there.
My parents asked me to go inside for some time. I asked for what. They said they need to talk with my brother’s family. I came inside and after almost an hour they called me again to the hall. My parents started telling that they all have discussed and they feel that it’s the best thing to happen for me.
I said, “What?” They said that it’s the best proposal for me. I asked them whether they are aware that their grandson is asking their daughter for marriage. They said that there’s nothing wrong in that. They personally are very happy about this proposal and told me to accept this. I said no. They started advising me.
They told that I need a partner and I cannot stay alone for a long time. They said they wished to see me marry again before they die. Hearing this I got emotional and told them not to speak such things. I told them if they are so much obsessed about my marriage, they can find a good proposal outside instead of their own grandson.
Then my parents said that they can’t trust outside people. After the first marriage failed, they don’t want me to go take chance again. They said marrying their grandson is the best thing which can happen to me. It would be a safe marriage for me. I thought for a while and said that I need some time to decide.
