Kumar was the only Indian in my class who was a native of Delhi. He stayed far from my place. We used to roam together finding out good places to chill out and have food.
After a couple of weeks, I started to hang out with my friends partying and stayed out at night at their places. Once such time after late night partying I decided to stay at Kumar’s place because I was too drunk to travel. Kumar’s roommate had to come to his hostel’s entrance to pick me from the cab.
I was too drunk and not even in a position to walk to Kumar’s room. I just remember crashing in bed. The next afternoon I woke up puzzled to find myself at my Kumar’s place. The last thing I could recollect from the night was boarding the cab and Kumar’s friend picking me up.
Since I was hungover, felt like having something like a hot coffee. But couldn’t find Kumar in the room. I freshened up myself and left the room to look for him. When I just stepped out of the room opening the doors I felt the sensitivity on my eyes due to sunshine. So I immediately covered my eyes with hands.
Suddenly I heard a giggle on my right. Puzzled at the sound of a stranger’s giggle I looked to my right. It was a slim girl looking Indian standing with a cup of steaming drink in her hands giggling at me. At first, I was confused about why she was giggling at me.
So I checked my sides to confirm. But it was just me and her at that place. Looking at my confused face she smiled and questioned, “Are you OK now?” I didn’t answer. I just kept staring at her. Then she waved her hands to catch my attention and she gave a confused look.
In between this Kumar called my name on the other side. So, I just responded to him. He waved ‘Hi’ to the girl and she too greeted him with his name. He came closer and introduced me to her. She was Celina. She just controlled her smile and greeted me. But I wanted to know the reason for that giggle.
So I asked her. She saw me the night before carried by my friend and his roommate. I was too high and couldn’t even walk straight. That’s why she inquired about me. As she was holding a hot cup of coffee my friend instantly asked coffee for myself and him.
She too quickly shared some with us which she had prepared for her roommate. During the cup of coffee, I had a conversation through which I came to know Celina had come for a short-term course in Lasselle college. I just had quick peeks on her shape and sizes.
Celina was not fair. She was duskily standing around five and a half feet, with a bit curly hair that made her look cute. She was wearing a casual T-shirt and a track pant which made her small boobs look a bit evident. She was from Thailand, but her father had migrated from Kerala when she was 10.
She was fluent in Malayalam and Tamil too. Celina did her Bachelor degree in Chennai so she was very well aware of Tamil Nadu. We continued our conversation for a while I had frequent looks at her T-shirt while she busy conversing with Kumar.
Then I and Kumar left Celina’s room, thanking her for the coffee. She smiled and waved bye at us. We just walked to the nearby food joint for lunch. On the way, my mind was just filled with the image of Celina in her outfit. After lunch, I stayed at Kumar’s place till night.
Kumar asked me to accompany him for dinner. So we reached the same food joint and found Celina having food alone. I and Kumar sat next to Celina for dinner. We discussed our family and academics related stuff. She left once she finished eating.
Back in my room, I kept thinking of Celina. I found her a lovely pretty girl who could just spice up my life in Singapore. But I was unsure whether she already had a boyfriend. Thinking of how could I get closer then, I had a great idea. Why shouldn’t I shift to Kumar’s place to get closer to Celina?
So I enquired about shifting to Kumar’s place. I finally shifted to Celine’s place actually. I had to accommodate in the ground floor with a friendly Malayali guy who was almost ten years elder to me. Most of the time I used to be in Kumar’s room as it was next to Celina’s.
While being there I had frequent glimpses of Celina and more conversations too. This made us closer from acquaintances to friends. We used to walk out for food and sometimes at midnight for Ice-Cream, which resulted in deep conversations.
After a couple of months, I started accompanying Celina on weekends. So I assured she didn’t have a boyfriend. I was getting more and more attached to her. But I was unsure whether it was love or lust? My mind was confused as she was behaving as a close friend.
But one day all such confusions were cleared when we were on a trip to Universal Studios. I along my friends from hostel and university visited Universal Studios. The place has many fascinating rides. But the Transformers Ride is my personal best because it fired up the relationship between us.
The ride was designed like a roller coaster wagon in which I purposefully sat next to Celina. She was cool earlier. But once the ride started she started screaming like hell. In fear, she held my hand tight. As the ride’s pace increased her grip got firmer and at one point her nail started puncturing my skin.
At no point, I was feeling the pain. I was just gliding over the clouds the moment her grip tightened. She almost cried during the ride. Once it was complete I could see her pale frightened face and her grip was still tight. She did not attempt to remove her hands. So I did not disturb my chances.
After that, I wanted to use every chance available. So I stayed next to her in every ride. So I took every chance on Mummy and Jurassic park rides too. After the day ended, while returning I was seated next to her in the cab. She felt free to lie on my shoulders and slept till the end.
I enjoyed everything and awaited my chances for an intimate encounter. The incident elevated her trust. So I proceeded further quickly to strike the iron when it is hot. I started personal discussions purposefully to know her opinions on live-in relationships, friends with benefits, etc.
She was frank and open to such things if the partner was trustworthy. I immediately asked, “Can we be friends with benefits?” She abruptly ended the conversation and left. I did not disturb her that day. But the next day she was casual as she was hinting at me. But I was unsure to proceed, and I waited.
