Jack took a seat on the couch that had been well used in the past three weeks. He waited for Amy to come out of the bedroom, but after 30 minutes Jack went to check on her. Amy was on the phone and was crying profusly.
"Daddy, I'm sorry" she said through the tears. Her father was furious at her careless decisions and made her feel as if she was dirt. After a few minutes of yelling at his daughter Amy broke down even more. "Bye Daddy!"
Amy sat there silent for a long time, the only sounds she made were the sobs and sniffles from her nose. "I'm sorry baby. I don't even know what he said yet but I know it is bad", Jack held Amy in his arms and kissed her forehead, waiting for what seemed like an eternity for her to say something.
"He has disowned me. Told me to never contact him again, and that he is cutting me off from his money", Amy cried into Jack's shirt and pulled him closer. She was having a break down at the wrong time in her life.
"Well, if he doesnt want to be around his grandchild then fine. I will marry you and take care of you forever", Jack stood up off the bed and knelt down to one knee. Finding the small box in his pocket he opened it and said, "Amy Carpenter, will you marry me?"
With eyes full of tears she said yes to his proposal of marriage. This was a fairy tail come true for her and knowing that life was about to change Amy wanted to take a good first step into her new life with Jack.
Since they were on their own now there wasn't a real rush to go off and elope. Jack was the only child of parents who had died in a car crash when he was 16. Since then he had to fend for himself and from what some might say, he has done fairly well for himself.
Amy was handling everything the best way she could. She was sleepy and sick off and on but that didn't keep her from enjoying her new life. Since her father cut her off that meant that she was forced to leave her house and move in with Jack, but not after taking all she could over to his house.
Jack and Amy were happy living in their small town of Gamble Colorado. It was a small town of no more than 20,000 people, and they felt right at home.
