John?s mother leaned against the kitchen counter in a sports bra, denim
jeans turned into shorts and white sneakers. She came into the house
and went right for a bottle water in the fridge. "I see you?re up dear."
She smiled. "Looking forward to slumber party with Amy tonight?"
"A dream come true, mom." John said as his sweat glittered off of his
skin, green leotard and tan pantyhose. After he had taken his hormone
pill, he spent the last 20 minutes with a Buns of Steel work out tape
and joined his mother in a bottle water toast before turning the kitchen
counter TV to the morning soaps. John poured himself a bowl of corn
flakes while his mother just had a diet drink. "It is the second to last
day of vacation. When I start the new school you and dad arrange for
me, John will be no more and only Janet remains."
John was less than half way into the soap before the sticky leotard was
more than he could stand. He turned the television off and went into
his bedroom, where he peeled the suit off of him. Glancing back at him
from the dresser mirror was a beautiful young woman that he had

He then headed down the hall to the bathroom, unhooking his bra and
removing his hose while he walked. He climbed into the shower and
moved back and to one side when he started the water so not to be hit.
He then took the soap and approached with caution since he was still

As he washed his legs he realized he should have chosen to take a bath

his legs. When he finished showering, he got out some shaving lotion
and took out his razor. Putting one foot on the bathroom bench at a

Hearing the phone ring, he wrapped a pink towel around him and
headed back to his room and picked up the portable. "Hello?"
"Are you ready for the slumber party tonight?" Amy asked.
"You know it, girlfriend." John said as he sat down on the bed, being
used to the feeling of sitting on a pillow even when he wasn?t. With his
legs crossed, he ran his fingers through his hair. "Who else is coming?"
"Janet, Jennifer, Katrina, Kim, Patricia, Paula, Sandra, Crystal and
Lesley," Amy replied.
"Sounds like we?re going to have fun." John said as a shiver ran up his
spine. "Look, you just caught me in the shower. I?ll see you tonight,
but I need to get dressed before I catch cold."
"Bye."
John spent an hour in his room putting on a mini fashion show as he
tried to figure out what he wanted to wear. A short time later John
came downstairs in a black tank top, hose and mid heel boots with blue
denim shorts and jeans jacket. He headed down to the super market
where he ran into Lesley. She was dressed in a pink sleeveless dress
and two inch sandals with straps across her bare feet. A gold chain
wrapped around her ankle. "What are you doing here?" John asked.
"Picking up some snacks for tonight." Lesley said as Crystal came over
to join them in her red Christmas sweater, pants, suntan hose and red
flats. "I see you got some doughnuts and cookies to go with these
chips."
John joined the girls into picking up a few treats to help with the party
and then headed home to get ready. Each of the girls packed what they
wanted to bring with them and then got a ride over to Amy?s house.
Amy answered the door dressed in a white night shirt with Angelica
from the Rugrats on the front as each girl arrived. When John arrived
in his red and white striped night shirt with Looney Tunes characters

Crystal wore a pink night gown with white lace trim that reached her
feet, Jennifer wore a similar blue one and Janet was in purple. Katrina

nightie While Patricia, Paula, Sandra and Lesley all wore two piece
Sailor moon, Sailor Scouts pajamas of different colors. A few of the
other girls had wool socks, some had nylons, while most where

That night John had the most wonderful time of his young life. They
started with tying one another in knots with a game of Twister. Amy
then laid face down on her bed while the others gathered about on their
sleeping bags for a game of truth or dare. John ended up taking a few
dares since there were a few truths he didn?t want known. John
enjoyed trying on different shades of nail polish and different hair
styles. When John was finally finished, half his finger nails were red
and the other half were blue. He choose to leave his toe colors alone as
they had to wait until their nails dried to break into the snacks.
"How about some pudding?" Amy asked as she got enough bowls for
everyone from the kitchen.
"It smells kind of funny." Kim said sniffing it.
"Oh," Amy bent over to sniff it, only to have Kim push it into her face.
All the girls, Amy included, broke into laughter at Kim?s little joke.
All the girls soon got themselves into a messy pudding fight. They feel
asleep to the sound of the new love talk radio show.
It was noon the next day before the girls disbanded for home. John
took his hormone pills while the other girls took their birth control.
They had to clean up the pudding mess. Since they had brought their
swimsuits with them, they spent the morning in Amy?s pool. John felt
such joy at being accepted as one of the girls. When he got home,
John?s mother was waiting with a surprise. It was his new school
uniform, which reminded him of the uniforms the Sailor Scouts wore
when not fighting the enemy.
"I love it." John cried, holding it out in front of him at a full length
mirror. He quickly stripped out of his own clothes and put his uniform

"You?re going to the girls school that I went to at your age, Janet. " His
mother said with a smile and gave have her daughter a hug. Janet just
gave tears of joy as she accepted herself as being all woman now

Despite the fact that Janet?s (John?s) mom told her that she should go
to bed early, Janet had gotten used to listening to the radio in the
evening. Her nylon footies moved across the cool tile floor while she
brought a radio to her room in pink two piece pajamas. She dropped on
her bed and slipped the nylon off her toes while she listed to the love
talk show on the radio until she fell asleep with the radio still on.
The alarm went off and Janet hit the shower and got dressed in her new
school uniform. While her dad finished his coffee and reading the
paper, Janet joined her mother in breakfast and a little surprise.
"Janet, I want you to have this." Her mom opened a little box and
revealed a gem necklace. "I wore it when I went to that school and
hopefully it will bring you luck there."
As Janet started to walk to school, a pair of boys heading for the pubic
\school bus stop were practicing their wrestling moves when they
slipped on a patch of ice. One of the boys landed flat on his back and

even more as Amy handed her the CD album. "He does look lovely on

"He does, doesn?t he." Amy blushed as they wished the record
company could have been in their home town so they could try to see
him in person. Not that Janet could have afforded the concert tickets
when he was John a month before.
Before going to bed, Janet was starring out the window and pondering
her great new life when a shooting star passed the sky. "Star light, Star
Bright, I wish the wish I wish tonight." She said as she turned and
headed off to bed.
The next morning, Janet climbed out of bed, remembering she had
