Anyway, I was really angry at Jeannie, the way she set me up. I couldn't

down beauty salon, very dated and sort of tired. Inside, it was the like
the dungeon of the bee-hives. Jeannie turned me over to Blanche, a
stocky beached blonde with an updo from Hell. She never shut up ? all
about her three husbands (two ran off and the third one, she ran off),
her no-good trash sister, the disgusting sex on TV and the movies, the
lying politicians. After a while I just tuned her out and started to
agree to whatever she said. She dyed my hair a fiery red, and then began
to wind it into perm rods. I never agreed to a perm for God's sake! When
my head was a mass of waves, she started to cut. And roll me up in a
set. It took hours. Jeannie would come and go, every time she saw me,
she giggled. I cringed. How bad was this going to be? Blanche spun me
around and let me see the New Me. I had poufy little bangs, framed by a
wide pale green satin headband. From there, my red, red tresses had been
back-combed to create height and flow into lots of little flips that
covered my ears, and left my neck bare.
Jeannie put me in a tight pantygirdle and then emerald Capri's. Then,
clear plastic platform mules with a five-inch heel. I couldn't believe
the next thing she forced on me. Imagine a long sheath, shawl collared,
sleeveless, a single button at the waist, held secure by a wide belt in
gold lame, that swelled into a mid-calf length full skirt that was open
in front to show my legs, all done in a gold and green brocade. Add some
cheap plastic, jangling hoops and bracelets. I hated it but Jeannie
shushed me quiet and walked me out of there. Next thing I know, we are
stopping by Raoul's villa, and Jeannie is slipping me a gift to say
"Hi!"
Raoul looked me over and smiled when he saw the gift. It was a videotape
and he slipped it into his VCR. An old movie, "The Queen of Outer
Space," and I couldn't believe it. The way I looked, the way they were
dressed in the movie, I looked just like them, a redheaded version of
Zsa Zsa Gabor. Halfway through the film, Raoul had me up on a coffee
table, posing even while the movie was still going on. "Cha Cha." He
started calling me "Cha Cha," his pet name for me, and made me sit on
his lap while we watched it again. Jeannie gave me one of her looks.
Better be nice. Raoul is having a great time. He thinks you're hot.
You're his little "Cha Cha" so be "Cha Cha" just like he wants.
He pushed a stick of gum in my mouth and nodded for me to chew. I did,
feeling even more stupid. Then, he asked Jeannie when I was getting my
breasts done. Sitting on his lap, I could feel how hard he was and his
hands were everywhere. Jeannie was smiling. I looked at Raoul with what
I hoped was a sexy smile. The only thing was why did this feel so wrong?
Why did I feel like someone was screaming in my head.
