First, apologies to Mr. James Thurber for taking liberties with his story theme. I just thought it was a cute idea. I first got the idea from watching women do everyday things like flipping their long hair back and trying on clothes in a store, and feeling envy. *** "T" Flights Of Fancy By Lindsay Hart "Walter, do you have everything you need?" Margaret asked in that annoying way. Sometimes I felt like she treated me like a child. Checking up on every little thing that I did, like I was incapable of taking care of myself, or without her help I was going to screw something up, or forget something important. "Yes, dear, I have everything." I responded rather indignantly. "Keys, wallet, checkbook, sunglasses?" she continued. I'm sure she doesn't even think about it any more. She's been doing it for so long that it is just second nature to her now. But how would she feel if I did the same thing to her. And she has even done it in front of our family and friends. It's so embarrassing sometimes. "Yes dear, I have everything." As she finished putting on her lipstick she said, "Oh, and add milk to the list." 'Damn, the list,' I thought to myself. 'Where did I put that list?' As Margaret was getting her sweater I found the list still on the counter and with the stealth of a ninja, slipped it into my pocket so Margaret wouldn't see I had forgotten it. We got into our old '95 Ford and headed towards the mall. Ol' Blue wasn't much to look at any more but she was reliable, and we had grown comfortable with her. Not that we couldn't afford a new car, we could. In fact, we could afford just about whatever car we wanted. We just didn't think the newer cars had the character of the older cars. Anyway, it was a nice spring day. The weather was just starting to warm up, the sun was shinning bright, the birds were singing. It seemed to be a beautiful day for our shopping trip. I guess other people had the same thoughts because there seemed to be people everywhere enjoying the first warm day in some time. As we pulled up and stopped at a stoplight I noticed a young couple walking on the sidewalk. It was obvious that they were in love and happy for each other's company as they played "grab ass" and "tickle". She was stunning. Fashion model good looks, long blonde hair that reached the middle of her back and appeared to glow as the sun reflected off of it. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail and kept in place with a bright red scrunchie that matched the lace trimmed tank she was wearing, which in turn, showed off her ample breast that stood up proud. Her small, thin waist indicated that she wasn't afraid of exercise to maintain her great figure. Her long shapely legs were perched on a beautiful pair of red sandals. And that cute blue skirt. He had chiseled good looks with dark features, perhaps Italian or Spanish heritage. And those muscles. The man looked like he could bench press a Volkswagon. "Jason, eeeehhh. STOP it!!! Stop tickling me! You know I have a hard time catching my breath when you tickle me so much," I said as I swatted Jason on the arm like it was really going to make him quit. My hitting Jason is probably akin to a fly biting an elephant. "I'm sorry, Cheryl. I'll try to be good. I just can't help myself around you. You're so beautiful, and I love to see you laugh. And when you laugh so hard and can't catch your breath, well, you have that cute little snort. Cheryl, I love you." "Oh, Jason, that's so sweet. I love you, too," I said. I reach up and wrap my arms around my boyfriend's neck and pull him to me and we embrace in a passionate kiss. My eyes are closed in bliss as our tongues dance, and then I realize ... and I break our kiss. "Hey, ... I do not snort!" and then I pout. Jason grabs me around the waist as I feign having my feelings hurt. "Cheryl, don't be like that." Jason pulls me into his big strong arms and I melt in his kiss once again. And as we stood there totally oblivious to everything else in the world my defenses crumbled and my guard dropped. Without ever taking his lips off mine, through our kiss he manages to say, "Yes, you do snort," and with lightning speed and the dexterity of a concert pianist his fingers find my stomach and ribs again in a ticklish assault. "EEEEEHHHH!!!! Jassssooon!" Snoorrtt. I push away and spin quickly to get away from him and as I turn my long hair whips around and hits Jason square in the right eye. Jason winces from the sting and stops cold. I realize what happened and I move to comfort him. "Oh, baby, are you okay. I didn't mean to." I cup his face in my hands and he says... HONNNNNK "Walter, what are you doing? The light is green and people are waiting." We finally pulled into the mall parking lot and headed straight for J.C. Penney. Inside Margaret went towards the women's section. I told Margaret "Honey, I'll meet you in about an hour. I'm just going to go over to Sears to look around. Margret said sternly, "Oh, no you don't. You will stay right by my side. The last time that I left you alone in Sears you bought that electric saw thing-a-ma-jiggy that you still haven't used because you still don't know how to use it. It's a paperweight that cost us $200. No sir, you're going to stay with me. Besides, I don't understand how... but I've actually come to value your opinions on the clothes that I buy. Somehow you have developed some fashion sense and I want you to help me pick out a couple of dresses for the Anderson's and the Martin's parties that are coming up." Well, there aren't many times that I'm glad for loosing an argument with my wife, but this was one of them. I didn't mind helping her shop for clothes at all. That just meant that I could browse the racks and feel the wonderful fabrics without feeling too self-conscious because I'd be helping my wife. I always found the lady's clothing in Penney's to be quite stylish and I could always find things that I liked. I started looking through the racks of dresses in my wife's size. But, after a short while I had moved to the sizes that I could wear. I found this beautiful teal green chiffon evening gown with spaghetti straps and was admiring it in the mirror when a sales lady walked up to me and asked if she could help me. She was gorgeous with bright green eyes and raven black curly hair and wore a stylish burgundy skirt suit with a white satin blouse. I stuttered the all intelligent, "Whhat." "Can I start a changing room for you, miss. By the way, you have excellent taste. That gown would look great on you." She took the gown and held it up to me and brushed her hand against my breast as she smoothed the gown on my frame. I smiled at the sales lady, whose name according to her nametag was Emily, and said, "Thank you Emily, that would be very nice." Emily took the teal gown and disappeared around the corner all the while still looking at me and smiling. I continued to browse the sales racks and found two other dresses I thought would be suitable for the upcoming parties. The first was a black strapless with an asymmetrical hemline that would hit about three inches above the knee on the left and about mid calf on the right. The second was a red halter strap dress that was short and sexy. Emily took the dresses in one hand and took my hand in her other hand and led me back to a changing room. Once in the changing room Emily closed the door, hung the dresses on a hook and without a word spoken, eased my zipper down. As she slipped my dress off my shoulders she caressed my breast and kissed me on the neck. I think she was impressed that I was wearing matching garter belt, bra, panties and slip, all in lavender satin and lace. When she saw my lingerie she smiled again and let out a small gasp. "The teal dress first." she said as she helped slide the dress over my head, and slowly pulled the zipper up. Emily turned me around and looked me up and down licking her lips before saying, "I was right. You look good enough to eat." Emily wrapped her arms around my trim waist and we embraced in a beautiful passionate kiss. My white tipped French manicured nails glistened as I ran my fingers through her long black hair. Emily stopped us saying only, "I want to see my girl in the other dresses." Emily helped me out of the teal dress and knowing that the bra and slip I was wearing would not work with the next two dresses, slipped them off of me. She was like a cat after its prey as she moved to my breast and began to suck and caress them. My nipples were rock hard as she worked her tongue over them. I helped her ease her jacket off and tore into the buttons on her blouse. I reached for the clasp on her burgundy bra that matched her suit, but she grabbed my hand saying, "First things first, lover. You model for me and then you get your reward." Emily helped me slip on the black dress then zipped me up. Emily moved me in front of the mirror and moved behind me wrapping her arms around my waist. I looked damn good in the black dress, even better than the teal dress. She brushed my long blond hair to one side and began kissing my neck again. I turned around to face her and asked, "Now, what about my reward?" Emily kissed me gently and with a smile she stepped back and unfastened her bra and let it fall to the floor. Her breasts were beautiful with large nipples. I reached for them and heard... "Mommy, that man wet his pants." "Well, I never!" "Come, Julie, we're leaving this place before something else happens." I looked down and noticed there was a wet spot on the front of the slacks I was wearing, but it definitely was not from accidentally wetting my pant. It was a different kind of accident. One that had been enjoyable at the time, but was only embarrassing now. "Margaret, I have to go find the rest rooms, dear. "Oh, alright Walter. They are around the corner to the right. But, you better not come back with anything that is not on the list." About three hours later we left the mall with everything checked off the list except the milk. Our arms were full as we headed back to the car. I couldn't help be a little sad. There was not a single feminine item in any of the bags that was mine. But, I made a promise to myself to come back before the sale ends and look for that black dress. On the way home we stopped at a convenience store to get the milk. I went inside while Margaret waited in the car. When I came out of the store Margaret pointed to the park across the street where there were numerous people milling around and one woman appeared to be wearing a wedding gown. Margaret suggested that we should go over and check it out. I steered Ol' Blue into the park parking lot and found a space that would give us a good view of what they were doing and we wouldn't even need to leave the car. As it turned out, a Bride was having some pre- wedding photographs done in this wonderful outdoor setting. The bride's dress was the traditional heavy white bridal satin with a tightly fitted waist and bodice. Above the bust was transparent lace that went to a high neck. The sleeves were transparent with seed pearls, puffy at the shoulder and tapered down to tight wrists. From the waist the dress flared out with a very full skirt and long train. Around the hem and all along the train were more seed pearls, lace and embroidery. The dress felt wonderful to wear, with the three petticoats underneath to add fullness to the skirt. And it looked amazing on me. My Maid of Honor was helping with the shoot and I told her, "Mary, I am so glad that you and mother talked me into this dress. It's just so right. It feels like it is actually part of me now. I can't believe that I didn't really care for it at first. Thanks for not giving up on this dress." And I gave Mary a hug. Ron, the photographer, called to me, "Sharon, lets get this next series with you sitting on the hill in the middle of all these wild flowers." "Ok, Ron, you're the boss, at least today. Just make me look beautiful." "Oh, Sharon, I don't have to do anything special to make you look beautiful. It just comes natural to you. You would look great even in a potato sack." "Thank you, Ron. You're such a gentleman." I sat in the flowers and Mary arranged my skirt. I turn this way and that for Ron, as he snaps picture after picture. It is mid afternoon and with all the petticoats and the heavy satin skirt I am beginning to get a little warm under my skirt. I am so glad that we decided not to have our wedding in the garden like we had originally wanted. I kind of let my mind wander and began thinking of my up-coming wedding. To think, in less than a month I would become Mrs. Robert Harden, a wife. I am such a lucky girl. I can't wait to make love to my husband. Ron interrupted my thoughts. More directions. He says... "Let's get going, Walter, we don't want the milk to spoil." Margaret said. Once home we get everything put away and Margaret fixes us a great dinner. Fried pork chops, mashed potatoes and pork chop gravy, broccoli with cheese sauce, a tossed salad, and a nice rose' wine. Sometimes I forget what a good cook she is. I wish I could cook like that. After dinner we sit down to our regular evening of watching television. I steal the remote away from Margaret and start channel surfing. Another lawyer show, no. A cop show, no. Another reality show, oh, please just shoot me in the foot. Wait, here's an old spy movie. I think these old spy movies are great. They just don't make movies like this any more. The hero is always dashing and sophisticated. The ladies are all very beautiful and elegant. "We already have the codes to launch the missiles, Katarina. I don't need to keep you alive. But, you've been such a thorn in my side these past few weeks, I thought I would make you watch as I destroy your beloved Moscow. Then I'll kill you slowly and painfully." It's true, I am in a real fix now. The ropes are cutting into my wrists, the blood mixing with my lipstick is an odd sensation, my dress has been torn up to my waist and my stockings, garter belt and panties were in full view of these simpletons that Dr. Devile used to do his heinous bidding. If this guy guarding me isn't careful he's going to drown in his own drool. Remind me to punch his lights out when I get loose. Oh, and I broke a nail. "You haven't won yet, doctor. There's still time. You'll never get away with it." "I admire your spunk. I suppose that you are still expecting your handsome Mr. Bond to rescue you and blow up my secret laboratory. Oh, did I forget to tell you that my men killed Mr. Bond. There's no saving you now. The missile launch sequence has already started and you have only minutes to live." "Bond is dead?" Damn! Just like a man. You can never count on them to come through when the chips are down. If I can just get to the laser in my bra I can use it to cut through these ropes. BOOOOOMMM!!! The explosion knocked me out of my chair. Debris everywhere. The guard is down, no, he's getting up. Got to spin on my side. Whack. "How do you like my high heel on the side of your head, you lech?" More explosions, and machinegun fire. Ta pocketa, pocketa, pocketa pocketa, pocketa. The lab is on fire now. Smoke filling the room. Got to cut these ropes. "Katarina, where are you?" "James, in here. Oh, James. Dr. Devile said you were dead, but I had faith in you. I knew you would come for me." James cut me free and our lips meet in a kiss that would knock your heels off. "Katarina, we'll have time for this later, but, we've got to get out of here, this whole place is going to blow." "James, you're going to have to carry me. I twisted my ankle when I kicked the guard." My hero sweeps me up in his strong arms and carries me to safety and our lips meet again as I hold my soon-to-be lover tightly..." "Walter, don't forget that you have to take the trash out tonight. You forgot it again last week. I'm going on to bed. Don't stay up too late. You know that you daydream when you don't get enough sleep, so come to bed soon. I might even let you borrow that new green nightie that you helped me pick out today." The End Hope you enjoyed it. Flights of Fancy

"Can't catch me!" Leslie said. Her being sixteen to his twenty-eight was bad enough; these occasional regressions into childhood always brought Rick a frisson of guilt. He chased her across his snow-covered fields, though, and caught her easily enough. It was a Saturday of freedom. They got only a scant hour on weekdays, between his getting home from the machine shop and Leslie going home for supper. Time too short for more than kissing and petting. On Saturdays he got out at eleven. They...

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 7

Staring out through the glass wall overlooking his swimming pool, David watched dark clouds move swiftly across the sky, which seemed odd because the air was heavy with humidity and dead calm at ground level. Lightning flashed, and a few seconds later the rumble of thunder rolled by. It will rain soon, he thought. Did Nora tell the truth? Did she run three days a week, rain or shine? He glanced at his wristwatch. She was late. Perhaps she took a look at the weather and decided she'd run...

Joe glanced toward his daughter cowering against the passenger door of the Escalade. They'd just passed through the gates to Carol and David's estate en route to Nora's apartment. Careful to avoid eye contact with him, Nora hadn't said a word about her blatant exhibition. She felt his eyes on her, and without looking at him, and in a meek tone of voice, said, "I'm sorry, Pops. I went too far again." "Yeah, you did." "For what it's worth, I didn't plan what happened....

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 14

"I love him, Pops, and he says he loves me," Nora said to answer her father's query. They were en route to Carol's house to have dinner with Carol and David. Pops was driving David's Escalade. "Why do I sense you're not convinced?" Joe asked. "Probably because I'm not." "Why?" "Lots of reasons. I don't really know David that well. I know him well enough to be in lust with him, but love is another issue. I'm not like you, Pops. I don't fall in love at first sight. Also,...

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 20

"Knowing you, Mom, I predict you have a plan to get Joe and Nora together?" Darla said. "Tell us about it." "No plan," Carol said. "Being the manipulative bitch I am, I did have a plan, or rather the bare bones of a plan, but..." Carol shrugged. "What can I say? I love him. I won't be a party to any plot to get Joe and Nora together." Darla looked surprised. "Are you saying because you love him you don't want him to have sex with anyone but you?" "Not at all. Joe and Darla...

The horse buyers from Arizona occupied a large, horseshoe-shaped booth in Denny's. They were chatting and eating breakfast when Joe interrupted several simultaneous conversations. "Darla, I've been thinkin'. If David is successful and buys Brigand, we should consider going Straight Egyptian at the ranch and sell off our Egyptian-Related horses." "Please, explain, Joe," Darla said. "Brigand is a Straight Egyptian. He'd become our senior stallion. Our two best mares are Straight...

Flights of ConsciousnessChapter 4

Carol soaked in water as hot as she could stand. The fragrances from the bath oils she'd used filled the air, and candles provided the only light in the room. She leaned her head back and tried to relax. Before going to her room, she'd stopped and knocked on her son's door and asked him to honor her privacy tonight. She needed to think, and she didn't want to deal with wondering if he were hovering where he could see her or touch her. He'd promised to respect her privacy. Memories...

Flights of ConsciousnessChapter 5

When David checked on his mother, she was sound asleep. He hovered over her face and gave her a soft, goodnight kiss, and then watched her sleep for a while. Like Darla, when she slept she looked so childlike and innocent. She rolled over and the sheet fell away. She was naked. Her voluptuous, naked body, unlike her face, looked neither childlike nor innocent. He caressed the side of her face with feather-like touches and kissed her neck just below her ear and suddenly realized what he'd...

Darla found Flint in the gym. David had told her that their head of security worked out with free weights and rode a stationary bicycle most mornings. "Not just when it rains," David said. "He hates running." Flint was exercising on the bench press. She marveled at the weight he was pressing: one hundred pounds on each side. He was sweating, and his muscles bulged. She sucked in air, amazed that his intense masculinity affected her so much. Flint was more like Pops than David. Rugged....

The one. Hanna. Knowing her name thrilled him. He felt closer to her already, and he hadn't touched her yet. He didn't know her last name and didn't care, didn't really want to know it. Hanna was enough. Hanna. The hunt was done; the stalk begun, and the urge was upon him. He fingered the switchblade deep in his pocket and watched the girl smile coquettishly as her flirting, dark eyes settled on some boys leaning on a railing doing what boys do at a shopping mall: look nonchalant in...

Flint flopped on a sofa in Darla's great room. He was wiped out. He'd checked Eileen and her mother into a resort hotel, took David and Nora to the compound, where Darla helped him pack a few things for Eileen for the next day, and then drove to Dorothy's friend's house to pick up Dorothy's things, which he'd just dropped off at the hotel along with what Darla had packed for Eileen. Looking back, he had worked over sixteen stressful hours that day, and the day wasn't finished. He...

Joe stopped his old pickup on Carol's driveway and turned off the engine. It kept chugging for a few seconds anyway. I know how you feel, old girl, he said silently to the cantankerous machine. You're tired, all worn out, but please, please, don't give up your ghost for a couple more months. He hoped the compensation package Steve mentioned included the use of one of the vehicles at Arabian Downs. Of course, Steve and Darla might not want to hire him after they found out about David and...

Colors were brighter, but they didn't glow with neon-like clarity - not yet. Sounds were crisp and clear, but their volume wasn't much above normal. The urge had not yet flipped the volume knob to the right, intensifying the sounds so they reverberated off his eardrums as if he were standing front-row-center at a rock concert. Soon his skin would become super-sensitive, so sensitive even his loosest clothing brushing against it would make him want to scream. He knew the signs. The urge was...

They sat comfortably in the armored limo. Flint drove them. David sat in the front passenger seat — phased out to perform his safety checks. Three women sat in the plush back compartment. They were en route to J&T's corporate offices where David would introduce Danny to Grace and the other board members. "Danny, I'm curious," Carol said as she pressed the button to raise the privacy screen. When it shut with a soft thunk, she continued. "You were frantic, completely distraught, when...

Joseph Alton Patterson stepped out of his beat-up pickup truck, grimaced when the engine turned over a few more times before rattling to a stop. He glanced at the stucco buildings in front of him. Like a fuckin' rabbit warren, he thought. One of the apartments in one of the buildings belonged to his daughter, but which one? To him, they all looked alike. He glanced at a scrap of paper in his hand, cursed and pulled a pair of drugstore reading glasses from his shirt pocket. Apt. 226, Building...

"It's just not right," Nora said. David's trip into her father's future upset her, probably more than anyone gathered to deal with what David had witnessed, including her father. "David, you shouldn't be messing around in anyone's past or future. You said yourself that you could alter the past or future with your time trips. It's just not right. You're not God. You're a man, and you shouldn't be messing around in God's bailiwick." "Whoa, Nora. What I do isn't close to...

Before we proceed, I need to ask my son some questions, Carol decided, some very pointed questions. "You mentioned you believed it wasn't normal for you to become sexually excited about me. If you remember, I disagreed. I think it's normal for a teenager to be curious about the opposite sex, and a parent or sibling is the handiest individual around to satisfy that curiosity as long as things don't go too far. Curiosity is one thing, but what we're doing is a giant leap from curiosity....

David returned from the airport and poured himself a cup of coffee. He strolled outside and sat at the patio table, enjoying the cooler morning air while he drank his coffee. His mother had a date that night and demanded privacy. Why? What did she have planned? He couldn't remember his mother ever bringing a man home with her, and until recently, he had not thought of her as a sexual being. No longer. "Do you know who this is?" Pete Hershey said on the telephone. "Yes," Gordon Wilson said. "Call me back on a payphone." Pete gave Wilson the number to call and hung up. Pete Hershey wasn't happy. Wilson calling him in the middle of the night, probably not on a payphone, infuriated him. Wilson knew the rules. Not for the first time, Hershey wished he'd never accepted Wilson's contracts. The next morning, David had finished one circuit around his running track and was starting his second when he heard running feet behind him. He slowed, and Nora caught up with him, quickly forcing him to lengthen his stride and run faster than he preferred. When they came up to the path that led to the copse of sissoo trees and Adirondack chairs, David took it, and Nora followed. Panting, he collapsed into one of the chairs. "Continue your run if you want," he said. She sat down. "No,...

Two thugs, one named Howie, the other Ken, no last names — not yet, anyway, David thought — had been hired to torch the shelter by a man named Glen Brown, but Brown wasn't the initiating party. Someone else had hired Brown, but because a man that Brown referred to as Kevin had hired Brown over the telephone, the trail to the culprit who had initiated the attack against the shelter went cold. The Yellow Book Fantasies Ch 8 Miss Fancy

This story began in 2009. It was my senior year of high school. This story is not your typical boy-meets-girl story. In fact, it does not get there until much later. Her name is Fancy. This is her story. In my last year of high school, I had two classes with Fancy, whom I did not know that much. We sat on different sides of the classroom. We had different sets of friends. However, on the rare occasion that she crossed over to my side of the world, or when I would hear her voice, she had a...

“Christ are we ever going to get on board!?”My heart sank, eyes rolled and shoulders slumped forward. Molly wasn’t happy. Again. Molly had been my best friend since school but knows how to moan with the best of them and saw my role as her best friend as more a sounding board for her gripes and perceived slights than anything else these days.We moved forward another step. David and June met with Chuck Denver; David paid the divorce attorney's retainer, and they agreed that Denver would extract his fee and return David's retainer out of the divorce settlement. Danny Yost dragged a rolling carryon behind her, and a garment bag draped her shoulder as she walked briskly along a concourse to exit the secure area of Sky Harbor Airport. A Passing Fancy

1964 was a far different world than the one we all live in today. Ronnie couldn’t know that of course, he was fresh out of high school and like most young men at the time, there was not a single clue in his mind of what he would do with his life. His world had been school, and work, it was the only world he knew. As far as anything like a social life, there just was not any time and even going to something sports practice was impossible. Growing up on the farm didn’t help one bit, the family...

SARAHS FANCY

Sarah and I,d been married a few years when we went on holiday to Essex staying in a local bed and breakfast in Clacton. Some how we,d gotten Sarah.s parents to agree to babysit for our two young k**s so we had the place all to ourselves us and about 3,000 others that busy August. The first few days had been pretty cool and windy, but the third dawned bright and sunny with the temperature heading for the high seventies, the main danger too much sun. We,d met a nice man called Trevor the night...

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 2

One day shortly before David turned seventeen, he concentrated and pictured his math teacher in his mind, and then wished he could connect with him. Suddenly his consciousness looked down on the slovenly man. Eager to test the possibilities of his new approach, he pictured Denise, someone he'd never met while in his body, and in a flash, his consciousness hovered over her in Albuquerque as she moved her fingers over the keyboard of a computer. Excited, he tested his newfound ability with a...

Flights of Consciousness Book III Charitable Good DeedsChapter 15

Dwayne couldn't sleep. A glance at the luminous dial on his wristwatch told him it was 4:43 AM, so he rolled his feet to the floor. He'd make his own coffee; June wouldn't mind. June. What a woman! So beautiful it made his eyes hurt just to look at her face. Smart, too. And sweet. She had a sweet disposition. He liked that in a woman. At the end of his marriage, his ex-wife had no sweetness in her. She'd morphed into a shrew. He turned on the shower, let it run until hot water arrived,...

Flights of Consciousness Book III Charitable Good DeedsChapter 28

Cursing, Danielle Yost kicked the door shut behind her, dropped her purse on the entry console table, and shoved her umbrella in the umbrella stand. "I hate my job. I hate this town," she muttered as she strode to her small kitchen and made herself a stiff drink. The old-fashioned answering machine connected to her kitchen phone flashed the number three. Probably hang ups from telemarketers, she thought, and in fact the first two messages were hung ups. The third interested her,...

Flights of Consciousness Book III Charitable Good DeedsChapter 34

"I can't believe what just happened," Danny said to her image in the mirror. She was applying makeup before dressing for cocktails and dinner. Twenty minutes earlier, Nora had left her to do the same. Bisexual. I'm bisexual. I've got to be, she thought, or I wouldn't have enjoyed Nora as much as I did. Who'da thunk it? No, you're rationalizing, Danny told herself. You suspected all along. You enjoyed masturbating with Ella when you were ten, and you'd read enough about sex, even at...

Flight of Fancy

It was just a typical transatlantic flight. I had business in LA, and I settled into my seat and gratefully drank the glass of champagne that the pretty cabin crew member offered me once I was seated. Emily her badge said. Nice name. The flight time was 12 hours, and in order to be reasonably awake when we landed, I took a relaxant pill after the first meal. It was just a sleepy making antihistamine, and after half an hour I could feel it starting to work. I opened my eyes to find Emily beside...

George finished his meal and placed it on the vacant seat next to him. The pretty flight attendant, the one he had eyed earlier when he first boarded the plane, came over to take it. As she leant over, he noticed she was wearing Chanel. She smiled as she turned away to place the tray in the trolley. What a sweet thing, he thought to himself as the memories of that scent, his favourite perfume, took him back. He reclined in his seat and thanked his stars for the comfort of first class, allowing...

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 9

Nora sat across from Detective Jake Fantine, a dashing, black-haired rogue in his mid-thirties. His drawl, a mix of a southern accent and the clipped tones of a New Yorker, intrigued her. She'd met him while consulting with the New Orleans Police Department earlier that day. He was the lead detective on the abduction and brutal murder of a young girl that had taken place during Mardi Gras that year, a murder so similar to Hanna Jenkin's everyone involved believed the same man killed both...

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 18

Carrie Jensen needed to pee - badly. Her kidneys throbbed. If Baldy - he hadn't told her his name, and hairless as he was, in her mind, she'd nicknamed him Baldy - didn't return soon, she'd surely wet the bed. She was conflicted. She wanted Baldy to return so she could pee, but he'd raped her repeatedly the previous night, and she feared he'd rape her again if he returned. If he returned. If he didn't, she'd surely die. Without realizing it, survival had become Carrie's prime...

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 25

By the time David's airplane landed at Scottsdale Airpark early Sunday afternoon, everyone wanted to spend some time alone. It was if they'd all had too much of a good thing. After doing some laps in his swimming pool to take out some kinks brought about by the flight, David stretched out on a chaise lounge by the pool and phased out. He wanted to get to know the cabal members a little better, perhaps give them some more grief, and he needed to check on his investments to anticipate any...

Flights of Consciousness Book III Charitable Good DeedsChapter 3

David stood next to the glass wall in the great room of his home that gave him a view of mountain next to the compound. He nursed a cocktail while he watched the falling sun alter the hues and shadows on the mountain's craggy surfaces. Deep in thought, he wondered how his wife reacted when his mother told her that she was pregnant. A part of him dreaded the possibility of some hurt feelings, and another part of him believed his wife could handle anything. He'd learned to admire the...

David watched as his sister nuzzled her face between his wife's shapely thighs. No matter how many times he witnessed the beauty of the event, it never failed to excite him. He fisted his very hard erection. "Fuck her," Nora said to David. "Fuck your sister. Poke her cunt with your long one." David rubbed his hand between Darla's legs. She was wet. Ready. But he wanted a taste of her nectar before poking her. She squealed happily as his tongue rasped up through her slit, lapping up...

"David is on the way with a candidate for a stable hand," Joe said as he hung up the phone. His wife looked pale — morning sickness, he assumed. "Are you up to meeting her?" "Her?" Carol said, looking surprised. "Yes, a woman named Tammy Wilkes, around thirty-five years old, David says, currently homeless, a drunk, but on the wagon. I'd like your opinion before I hire her, but if you're not up to it, I'll speak with her and have her come back when you're feeling better." "I'm...

The dinner conversation flowed around the excellence of the meal, the foster-home system, and the War on Terror. They occupied the dining room in David's home. June had announced that she would prepare the meal that night in a kitchen with which she was familiar, and would cook subsequent meals in Darla's kitchen and serve them in the large dining room after more personnel occupied the compound. Darla sat to David's left, Nora to his right. Flint sat next to Darla, and Patty sat between...

Dwayne Holt, Darla's driver/bodyguard, was big, part black, and shaved his head bald. He wore a prosthetic hand on the stub of his left forearm. He rarely wore the fake hand. He preferred a hook, he told David. For reasons Holt didn't specify, he'd worn the prosthetic hand for his first day on the job, and David had not asked him ask why. Holt was Darla's driver, but he wasn't driving for Darla at the moment. He sat behind the wheel of the Escalade, and David occupied the passenger...

Flights of Consciousness Book III Charitable Good DeedsChapter 21

In his office, David phased out and connected with Gordon Wilson in the present. Wilson was taking a shower, his head soapy with shampoo. David created an invisible hand and turned the faucet to cold. Wilson bellowed and jumped, quickly adjusting the temperature of the water. When it was the correct temperature and after Wilson stepped under the water again, David turned the faucet to scalding hot. Wilson screamed and cursed, and then adjusted the water so he could get the soap out of his...

"How did this happen?" David said to Nora as he rushed to his office. "I don't know. I said my colleague screwed up, but I could be wrong about that. Peck is armed, and he fired on the assault team." "I'm in my office now," David said as he locked the door. "I'll phase out and fix this right now." He ended the call, sat in his executive chair, and his consciousness left his body, connecting with Peck. The violent pimp had a gun pressed against a girl's head. Another girl lay...

To assuage his guilt over Wilson's possible assassination, David decided to warn the wife beater of his pending death. Wilson had changed hotels, which was immaterial. David connected with the individual, not a location. The disembodied consciousness determined Wilson's new room number, found a nearby empty room and called Wilson on the telephone. "Leave me alone!" Wilson screamed when he answered the call. "I cancelled the contracts. Just leave me the hell alone!" "I figured you for...

Journey OutwardChapter 17 Footloose and Fancyfree

Once we are on the move, Gunga Din pulls out the maps and start marking likely hiding spots. Galahad moans in his sit. I can only guess he is finding the ride on the bumpy side. Until we get to the major road way there is not much I can do. The Kindred tore up the paved road going into the compound, back when the holocaust first happened. Now there are trees and shrubs growing over the path. Even after driving over it a few times in the last month, it is still hard going. "Sorry kid. it...

We should be picking up our rental car tomorrow, but if that doesn’t happen because of the weather, I could stay here another night.”Charles echoed the sentiment, answering, “Yeah. Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 6

After his communion with the dark-haired beauty in New Orleans, exhilarating and satisfying as it was, he'd still sensed the experience was less than perfect. It troubled him when he couldn't immediately define the imperfection. He relived the event and previous events daily, but in a fractured manner, certainly not in sequence from beginning to end. In fact, he purposefully avoided a sequential review, preferring a random, in-depth reassessment of each moment within each element of the...

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 13

Am I walking bowlegged like Pops? Nora asked herself with a delighted, school-girl giggle as she walked through the parking garage connected to the Phoenix FBI Field Office. If not, I should be. For the first time in a very long time, probably since her wild days while in college, she felt like she'd had all the sex she wanted and needed. What a weekend! It started Friday night when she went dancing with David and didn't stop until a couple of hours ago when he dropped her off at her...

"Now what?" Joe asked. Nora forced her avid gaze from her father's throbbing erection to his face, a face with a questioning, concerned expression, but his eyes were full of lust. "You have a beautiful cock, Pops," she said as her hand continued to stroke its length. Now what? he'd asked. She didn't have an answer. She hadn't thought beyond seeing and touching his erection. Her mind had focused on those goals only, and now they'd been achieved, she realized she didn't have another...

Flights of Consciousness Book II Time TrippingChapter 19

Wow, Colleen thought as she watched David and his lady approach Carol's patio and hot tub. Although stark naked, the striking couple strode boldly, both obviously comfortable with their bodies, and well they should be. David looked like Michelangelo's statue of the biblical character with his name. What a hunk! Nora moved like a sleek, golden cougar, lean and smooth, graceful and regal. Nora took Colleen's breath away. What a beauty! Colleen couldn't decide who excited her more, the man...

Darla sat in the back of the airplane. Little George was sleeping in a car seat across the aisle. Darla's mother and Joe sat in the two seats in front of her. David was flying the plane, and Nora occupied the co-pilot's seat. Two sets of lovers and me, Darla thought, and the thought saddened her. "I loved you, Steve," she whispered so softly she knew no one would hear her. And I thought I loved our life. For a while, I even convinced myself I fit, but little things became big things....

"Stupid question," Joe said with aplomb as he sat on the sofa and started to pull off a boot. Nora jumped up to help him. He'd managed to pull off one boot before she straddled his other leg. Placing his stocking-covered foot on her bare bottom, he pushed when she pulled on the boot. It came off with a sucking sound. "Now that's a sight to remember," Darla said laughing. "Help me get rid of the rest of his clothes," Nora said as she unbuckled his belt and popped the top button on...

It was five-thirty in the morning, and the air was brisk and clean. David's body felt rested but vibrant. He'd extended his morning swim from fifty laps to sixty. Last night after another exhilarating incestuous, psychic suck with his mother, he'd continued to perfect his senses while his consciousness roamed his home. He'd visited Barbara and her home as well, but his numerous attempts to connect with Coach Connors had all failed. Naked, he was air-drying his body after his swim, when...

Carol expected to hear screaming and yelling when she returned to the house. Instead she heard only silence. She checked out by the pool, but the pool area was vacant, so she walked toward the kid's wing of the house. As she neared Darla's bedroom, she could hear her sobbing. The girl was lying on her bed curled up in the fetal position and crying as hard as Carol had ever seen her cry. She sat on the edge of the bed and pulled her daughter into her arms. Darla clung to her like Carol was...

David had never felt so mortified. His sister, as payback for invading her privacy, had him standing on display naked while she was dressed, and she had just insisted that he bend over and spread the cheeks of his ass. He felt her reach between his legs, and he jumped like he'd been goosed. "Calm down," she said, "and stay bent over. I want to check out your balls." She fondled them gently. "I ought to squeeze them until you scream for mercy, like you squeezed my nipple. Remember? You...

When Darla and her mother arrived home, Darla went searching for David and found him in his bedroom. "Mother wants to talk with us." David nodded. "Come here, first." "What?" David pulled her into his arms and gazed at her with all the love he felt inside him. "I broke a promise this afternoon. I connected with you and didn't touch you. I apologize." "When?" "While you were talking with Mother in the car." Immediately furious, she tried to twist out of his arms, but he held...
