Genetic Influences (Final Installment) free porn video
This is the final installment of Jack/Jaclyn's story. I'd like to thank
those of you who have read it and given feedback. I hope that you enjoy
these final two chapters.
Chapter Six: Family Reunion
So much had changed. So much had changed and yet so much had stayed the
same.
In almost any arena you cared to choose, I beat out 99.9 percent of the
population. I was as attractive as a super model; I had sufficient
athletic ability to rank internationally in almost any sport; and my
cognitive abilities would vault me to the top of almost any class of
which I became a member. Yet, despite all these new gifts, I found
myself feeling the same way I had always felt when I was around my
brother?the way I had felt around him since the time I was old enough to
put words to such things. I felt like a total screw up who deserved a
verbal flogging.
"I gave you a simple set of instructions, Jack," my brother rebuked.
His concern had quickly morphed to anger once he had learned I was okay,
and his tone was harsh. "I told you not to, under any circumstances,
mess with what was in this box. You couldn't even manage to follow
those simple instructions, could you?"
"Sorry," I murmured.
I thought about Javier's lifeless form lying on the floor of the lab. I
thought about the fact that I was now trapped in the body of a woman. I
thought about the danger I had put my friends into. All of these things
were the result of my foolishness. Drew was right to berate me. I
could feel tears welling up again, blurring my vision. I wiped them
away and more came.
"What are you crying for?" Drew demanded incredulously. "You think
that, just because you're in this body, you can manipulate me with tears
like a girl? You think I'll feel sorry for you and ease off?"
The tears kept coming. I just couldn't stop them. It wasn't like Drew
had said. I wasn't trying to manipulate anyone. I was simply suffering
the effects of everything that had just happened to me.
"Lay off him," Hayden fired, his tone sounding every bit as rebuking as
Drew's. "The guy is suffering enough without you jumpin' all over him."
"Guys," broke in Kogo, placid even now. "You can argue about this when
we are safely out of this building."
Drew picked the metal box up off Creighton's coffee table. "You're
right, David," he said. He was the only one who ever referred to Kogo
by his first name. "We better get going."
Kogo came back over to me and put his arm around my shoulders again.
"You got to pull yourself together, friend," he said softly. The
musical rise and fall of his speech had the soothing power of a Bach
sonata.
"O?okay," I said, struggling to lock down the waterworks.
Before following the others out the door, I turned to Creighton. The
stun was slowly wearing off, and he was twitching in pain as he
struggled to regain movement in his limbs. I picked up my foot and
stomped down onto his groin as hard as I could. "Take that asshole," I
said to the prone form. Creighton only whined pathetically at this new
source of pain.
We moved carefully down darkened hallways, making our way through the
nanobotics building, alert to the possible presence of additional
federal officers.
"How did Drew get here?" I asked Hayden. Curiosity had overcome my
desire to maintain sullen silence. "He was the last person I expected
to show up."
"He came here for the same reason you did," Hayden told me. "He
injected himself with nanos and needed to use the transmitter in the lab
to program them with new instructions."
"You used nanos on yourself?" I asked my brother, incredulous.
"It was a calculated risk," Drew said. "Fortunately, I didn't end up a
pile of goo."
Suddenly a realization hit me. "You turned yourself into Creighton,
didn't you? There were two Creightons in the lab tonight."
It all made sense to me now. It had been my brother who Hayden and Kogo
had seen enter the secured section. But when he entered he discovered
that the real Creighton was there. When the real Creighton left,
passing by Hayden and Kogo on his way out, my brother was able to gain
access to the lab. That's when Javier and I entered the scene and
discovered him there.
"I ran to Reno where the conference was underway," my brother said. I
timed it so that my transformation into Creighton's twin would take
place shortly after my arrival there. It was the perfect disguise. The
Nanogen operatives following me thought I was the real Creighton (who
was attending the conference). That's how I slipped away from them."
"But how did you get into the lab without an ID badge?" I asked.
"When I got back to campus, I went to Creighton's office and stole his
security override code."
Hayden said, "While your brother was in the lab, he overheard the real
Creighton talking to the federal police officers who were hiding in the
men's room. He heard enough of the conversation to know we were all in
danger. So, he came to get Kogo and I as soon as he could. We brought
him into a room to hide him as the nanos began to change back into
himself. Then we made plans to rescue you and Del Garza."
"We never dreamed that the bastards would kill Javier," Drew added.
We exited into the foyer of the nanobotics building, at that point. I
could see the moon shining through the high windows, bathing the campus
in silvery light. We were almost home free, or at least so it seemed.
We pushed through the doors exiting the building into the night air.
Then out of the shadowy campus grounds, a bolt of energy shot forwards
and struck my brother. He flew back, thudding against the glass door
that had just swung shut behind him. I gasped in horror.
"It's an ambush!" I heard Kogo cry. He grabbed my arm and pulled me
towards a low brick wall by the front of the building. Hayden had
already taken a dive towards it. "Get down, Jack!" Kogo instructed
urgently.
"Drew!" I cried out.
"He's okay," Hayden assured me. "It wasn't a direct hit, and I can see
his chest moving."
I looked back at Drew's crumpled form. I couldn't tell if he was, in
fact, still breathing from where I was positioned. I hoped Hayden had
been correct.
Whoever was out on the darkened campus grounds took another shot at us.
Hayden shot back and was narrowly missed by return fire. "Shit!" he
exclaimed. "There is more than one of them out there, I think. Maybe
three or four. When I tried to take a shot at one of them, one of his
buddies drew a bead on me."
"We can barely even see them out there in the shadows," I fretted. "But
we're next to all this light." I motioned at the wrought iron lanterns
that stood at intervals along the low brick wall.
Hayden aimed at one of the lanterns. "I can take care of that at
least," he said.
I reached out and batted his hand down. "What are you going to do?" I
demanded, "you going to waste every charge left in your gun blowing out
all these lights?"
"Got a better idea?"
"Yah," I said. "Give me your pistol."
"Just tell me what you want me to shoot, and I'll shoot it," he
insisted.
"Look, Hayden, I know it injures your male pride to hand your weapon
over to a female; but just give me the damn gun."
"Alright, alright," he said. "Geesh, you don't need to change it into a
sexism thing."
"I didn't," I said, as I took the gun from him. "You did. Now shut up
while I show you something."
I peered up over the wall. The minute my face was visible over the
brick I saw two red flashes out in the shadows. They were laser sights
on the guns of two of the men who were trying to kill us. Before they
could bring their rifles to bear on me, I pulled my own trigger twice in
rapid succession. Two cries of pain followed. Then there was the
clatter of weapons hitting the concrete walkway.
After quickly ducking back down behind the wall, I looked over at Hayden
and grinned. "When you have genetically engineered reflexes, then you
can be the one who shoots down the bad guys," I teased.
"Okay, I get it," he said, smirking back at me. "Now get the rest of
them, Annie Oakley."
I peered up over the brick wall again, and this time only one red flash
appeared. I shot at it, which produced another cry of pain. Hayden
high-fived me. "That should leave just one left," he said.
I peered up over the wall a third time and caught a glimpse of the last
man darting from one shadowy spot to the next. He was trying to find
better cover, probably to wait us out. I fired quickly, before he was
able to disappear back into shadow, and sent him sprawling into the
dirt.
With our assailants dispatched, we got up and went to Drew's prone form.
I crouched down over him to inspect his injury. His shoulder was badly
charred from the blast, but I could see the rise and fall of his chest.
Thank god! He was still alive. He had been stunned by the electric
bolt but was still breathing.
"We better get out of here fast," Kogo said, getting down beside Drew,
slinging the prone man's arm over his shoulder and lifting him up off
the ground. "It is a certainty that reinforcements are on the way."
Hayden put Drew's other arm over his shoulders, and we descended the
steps of the nanobotics building. Then a dark figure jumped out from
behind a large cactus bush a few feet up the walkway. There had been a
fifth man!
I managed jump to the side, roll in the dirt just as he got a shot off
at us. His blast grazed Kogo's bicep, sending the large man flying to
the cement with a crack. Drew and Hayden were dragged down with him,
landing in a tangled heap on top of him.
I fired frantically at the figure, missing him with my first shot. He
turned his rifle towards me. I fired at him again before he could
steady his aim. He flew back with a cry of pain and landed in the
middle of cactus bush.
"Shit!" Hayden said, untangling himself from the pile and picking
himself up. "Now Kogo's stunned too!"
"What are we going to do?" I cried, as I went to Kogo's groaning form.
There was a nasty blistering burn on his arm. He was lucky that he had
only been grazed by the blast. "We can't carry both of them."
"We'll have to drag them," Hayden said.
"Drag them?" I replied doubtfully. It seemed unlikely that we could get
them very far, pulling them across the dirt and rocks.
"We only need to get to that car down over there," Hayden said. "See
it? It's parked on the street about a hundred yards that way. It's
under a lamppost."
"I see it," I said peering through the darkness. Our view of it was
partially blocked by a pineapple palm.
"If we can get them there, I should be able to wire the car."
I sighed. It seemed like the best option open to us. I grabbed, Drew's
ankles and began to drag him across the dirt. Hayden dragged Kogo, who
was the biggest of the two casualties. Dust was kicked up in our wake
as we moved, tearing up the backs of the two prone men as we pulled them
over sharp pebbles and clods of dirt.
By the time we'd gone twenty paces my arms were already getting tired.
Drips of sweat were pouring off me. I didn't think I could go much
farther. I just wasn't strong enough in this body to drag a one hundred
and eighty pound man very far.
Then we saw a black and silver van fly overhead. I could see the
federal insignia on its door. A sickening feeling overtook me.
"Reinforcements!" I said.
I saw the van head towards the parking lot of the nanobotics building
and prepare to land.
"We'll never make it to the car," I told Hayden. He was several paces
ahead of me and did not seem to be struggling nearly as much. "We don't
have enough time."
"We've got to try," he said.
"My arms are sore," I told him. "I'm not strong enough."
"Keep going," he urged.
I struggled desperately, pulling my brother across the ground as fast as
I could. I shivered in the chill night air, as my t-shirt became damp
with sweat. I saw the van settle down onto the parking lot. Its side
hatches popped open, moving up with slow deliberation. There was no way
we could make it to the car.
"It's hopeless," I wailed. "It won't take them very long to spot us
over here."
I saw Hayden look up at the van. There was only grim determination on
his face. He would not say die. Then the lights of the vehicle we were
heading towards flipped on.
"There's someone in the car," I said. "They're driving away!"
"No," said Hayden. "They're heading towards us."
He was right. The car navigated round the pineapple palm and then went
up over the curb and onto the walkway that led towards the Nanobotics
Building. It was a flying car, I realized. I'd seen one like it
recently.
The car moved across the walkway, maintaining a course directly towards
us. Hayden and I stopped. There was nothing to do but wait. As it
neared us, the tinted driver's side window went down, and I found myself
looking into the face of the IGC agent who had chased me the previous
morning. His partner sat in the seat beside him.
"Are you ready to trust me now?" the man asked me.
"I don't have another option," I answered, chest still heaving from the
effort of dragging Drew. Federal men were now fanning out over the
grounds of the nanobotics building. Soon they would spot us and head
our way. "In that case, you better get in quickly," the agent said.
The car's hatches flipped open.
The two agents helped get Drew and Kogo into the car. Federal men had
begun shouting at us, ordering us to halt.
"By the powers invested in me by the Inter-Governmental Council, I herby
order you to stand down!" the agent shouted back.
I didn't stop to see if the federal men were complying with this order.
I just piled into the car. It was a rather uncomfortable fit for us,
when we where all in the vehicle; but I wasn't complaining. I heard
Drew groaning beside me, he was beginning to recover from the stun.
Kogo, who had only been grazed by the bolt fired at him, had already
regained some movement. They would both be okay after receiving medical
attention for their burns. Federal men gathered around us, cursing
angrily as we lifted off the ground.
"My name is Jorgensen, by the way," the agent said. "How shall I refer
to you?" Would you prefer to be called Jaclyn Fox or Jack Finch?"
I looked at him for a few moments, wondering how long he had known my
true identity. "That depends," I eventually answered. "It depends on
whether you plan on also calling me a violator of whatever article
prohibits use of illegal technology?"
The agent chuckled. "No," he said. "I am calling you my key witness."
"Well, in that case," I answered, "you can call me whatever you like."
We sped off through the night sky.
The air was chilly, but it was so nice to sit outside and see the wisps
of morning mist hang over the mountain lake. The Swiss Alps stood as a
beautiful backdrop to the scene, embracing the country and keeping it
safe from the rest of the world. The residents of the small village
moved about nearby walkways, as stunningly beautiful as the country in
which they lived.
"It is very nice here," I commented?tightness in my tone. I set my cup
down and then pulled the sleeves of my turtleneck sweater down over my
hands. "I miss home, though. I want to talk to mom and dad."
A month had already passed since the night that agents Jorgenson and
Dooley had spirited us out of the NAF. Since that time, I had been
closely guarded and I'd had little or no contact with any of my friends
or family. Officials from the IGC were concerned that any calls would
be intercepted by the NAF. "We can't risk them overhearing anything
that would provide a clue regarding your whereabouts," explained the
female agent assigned to me.
"We'll start giving our testimony to the council subcommittee next
month," my brother offered, his posture held rigid. "After that,
security will be relaxed quite a bit. No one will have anything to gain
from hurting us at that point."
The tension between us was a palpable thing that made me feel as though
I were in a corset. "What do you think will happen after we testify?" I
asked.
"Creighton and Krieger will serve time," he said quickly. "That's a
certainty. This whole incident will end their careers."
"I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for them," I said.
"I imagine that someone fairly high up in President Richey's
administration will also be indicted," Drew continued. "The big fish
will go free, though. Ritchey himself will no doubt weasel his way out
of trouble by denying that he knew about the project. His approval
ratings will suffer from the controversy for a few weeks and then most
people will forget about the matter."
I sighed. "I guess that's the way the world works, isn't it?"
"I'm afraid so," Drew said. "But, to tell you the truth, I didn't
really ask you to meet here to discuss politics. There's something else
I want to say to you. Something that needs to be said."
"What is it, Drew?" I asked.
"I wanted to say that I'm sorry."
"You're sorry?" I echoed, my voice raising an octave. The agitation
that was so near the surface was about to break through. "Sorry for
getting you're your younger brother involved in something that was
beyond his depth?"
"No," he said, knowing my question was loaded with explosives. "That's
not what I was going to say. I was going to say that?well?the last time
we talked was that night in the nanobotics building. I've thought a lot
about that night and I regret?"
"I don't see that you have anything to regret," I interrupted. "So
please let's just drop that issue. I don't want to discuss that night."
I looked down at my coffee. I could feel tears forming in my eyes, and
I didn't want Drew to see them.
"I wasn't going to talk about that night. So please just let me finish.
" He appeared to be exasperated at trying to compete with the verbal
facility I now possessed.
"I'm sorry," I replied.
"What I'm trying to say is that I have thought I was being a good older
brother all these years. I have thought I was helping you. I could see
you struggling sometimes and believed that, if I gave you a good solid
kick in the ass, it would set you onto the right path. But all I did
was to help you feel bad about yourself.
"So if anyone is to blame for you injecting yourself with those nanos,
it is me. For I, more than anyone, am responsible for making you feel
as though you weren't okay the way you were. That is something I regret
very deeply."
"Oh, Drew," I said, tears now flowing freely. They seemed to come so
easily to me these days. "Oh, Drew?"
There was no other response I could muster, so we stood from our seats
and hugged each other for a long moment with the agents guarding us
watching from the next table over. The tension between us had been
dispelled completely. We were truly brothers to each other at that
moment. More so than we had ever been before.
"Thank you, Drew," I said after awhile.
It would be one of those moments I would remember for along time. One
of those moments when something is finally made right between you and
someone you love.
"You should thank your friends," he told me as we released our embrace.
"I've had some long talks with Kogo and Hayden this last month. It was
they who helped me see things more clearly."
Chapter 7: Two Years Later
I could barely feel my legs now, and there was a sharp cramp in my side.
Yet somehow I found the determination to keep running. In the distance,
I could see the large banner that said finish, behind it was Saint James
Park.
The fastest of the male runners were already gathered there. If I could
hold out, I would have the fastest female time when I joined them. With
that honor would come a large cash prize.
I didn't know how far behind me the other females were, and I didn't
dare turn to look now. As numb as my poor legs were, I was afraid that
any shifting of my weight would cause me to lose my balance and tumble
onto the concrete.
Then I saw Deirdre's face among the crowd of people gathered along the
racecourse. "Keep going Jackie!" she screamed. "You're almost there."
"You're going to win this fucker!" cried out Hayden, who was standing
there beside her. Kogo was there too as pumped up with adrenalin as the
other two. It was rare to see that placid calm shattered.
I could still hear the cheers of my friends echoing in my ears, when I
became aware of the German runner Eva Burkhart coming up along side me.
It seemed she had found a burst of steam in these final meters of our
42k-race. She edged up ahead of me by a few centimeters.
My heart protested wildly. I couldn't lose my first place position!
Not after holding it all through the race. My legs could not find the
extra boost I needed to retake my position, however. It seemed all I
could do to force them to just keep my current pace. Eva pulled a
little farther ahead of me.
"AAAIIIE!" I cried out, and somehow I was able to make my legs move
faster. Like a cruel horse master whipping his team near dead mares to
greater feats of exertion, I forced my legs to move faster. I came up
beside Eva. Then I passed her. Suddenly, she lost her final boost and
was loosing her steam. My feet crossed the finish and my time went up
on the screens. Eva managed to hold on for second.
An announcer's voice said, "Jaclyn Foster, a doctoral student at King's
College here in London will take the fastest female time this year."
Drew rushed to greet me, and I almost fell into his arms. I was
laughing and crying at the same time.
Jorgensen was standing off to the side, looking irritated.
Neither Drew nor I were under a constant guard anymore. It had been
some time since the danger to us was considered immediate enough to
warrant such protection. Jorgensen had continued to check in on us
regularly, however.
"I thought we agreed that you weren't going to take first," the agent
said stonily, when we were all gathered at the beer tent. "It's not
wise to draw this much attention to yourself."
"You expected her to throw the race," Hayden erupted.
"She'd draw a lot less attention taking second," the agent said soberly,
"and the less attention she draws to herself, the less likely it is that
someone will figure out who she is."
"Oh relax, Jorgie," I replied. "This Jaclyn Foster alias you set up for
me is safe. It's not as if paparazzi are going to be following me
around now and digging into my past. This is just the London Marathon,
not the Olympics."
"I told you not to call me Jorgie," the agent said stiffly.
He was only looking out for me, of course. If my identity were learned,
I would be hounded by the press non-stop. Everyone would want me to
tell my story. I didn't want that kind of attention. I just wanted to
live my life (such as it now was) quietly.
I had risked this comfortable anonymity by taking the fastest female
time; and, though the risk might not be great, I could end up regretting
that I took it. Still, it felt damn green to have won. Real damn
green!
Afternoon waned, turning into early evening as we sipped beers and ate
hot dogs that were grilled for us there in the tent. Jorgensen loosened
up some after a couple beers and started talking with Drew about his new
appointment to university in Canada. Friends I knew from school had
showed up intermittently, congratulating me on my time. They would
stick around and talk for while before heading back off to their
studies.
Finally, I was ready to head back to my flat myself. I was utterly
exhausted, and the desire to collapse into my bed was growing stronger.
I wanted to just let myself slip away into warm oblivion for several
hours.
As we left the park, Jorgensen looked at me and said, "There's something
I've always wanted to ask you."
"What's that, Jorgie?" I replied.
"What was it like?"
"What was what like? Going from a guy to a girl?"
"What was it like becoming a totally different person? A totally
different person blessed with a superior genetic profile? Did it change
your whole outlook on life?"
I smiled at him. "That's a very interesting question, Jorgie," I said,
stretching out my sore legs as we waited to cross the street. "I
thought for a long time that it would change everything for me if I were
a different person. I thought that if I were smarter, more athletic,
more focused and better looking that all my problems would go away. I
would have thought this even if I knew that being changed to female
would come along with new genetic package.
"It was only after I experienced this dramatic re-writing of my genetic
code that my attitude began to shift. I realized that far less changed
than I would have thought. The struggles that had always haunted me
found me in this body too. It seems that no matter what you change
about yourself you cannot escape these struggles. It is only when you
learn to give up the fight to master hidden demons?when you learn that
fighting is just a trap?that the day is finally won."
