Handjob Positions, Poses, and Techniques:
How To Become Better At Manhandling Your Man

Hands handle. Usually, touch signifies acceptance, whereas the
avoidance of touch signals rejection. Hands are involved in embrace,
which implies fondness or even love. Hands welcome. Hands communicate.
Hands work and play. Hands massage. Hands manipulate, shape, and form.
Hands hold. Hands give.
One of the things that hands give are handjobs. Both female and male
hands are capable of giving handjobs, although when the former do so,
the act is considered heterosexual, whereas, when the latter do so, the
same act is considered homosexual. What would a handjob by a true
hermaphrodite or even a shemale be considered? Bisexual?
When hands are to be photographed in the act of giving a handjob, they
should be prepared, just as any other actors would be prepared. Their
nails should be manicured and, in the case of women or shemales,
polished. Lotion should be applied if the hands look dry. However, it
shouldn't be apparent to the camera that lotion has been applied to the
hands. The hands should appear natural at all times.
Females, males, and shemales have all demonstrated many of the hand
positions, poses, and techniques that have become typical of handjobs
shots and sequences, and the aspiring photographer or filmmaker should
be familiar with these attitudes and methods. No doubt, he or she him-
or herself will use many of them in photographing or filming handjobs.
For this reason, I will review some of the more commonly employed
positions, poses, and techniques that the hands are likely to adopt or
employ during their enactment of this sexual--and, one must never
forget--highly photographic and cinematographic feat. If you happen to
be an aspiring model, actor, photographer, filmmaker, bride, or
prostitute (male or female), I recommend that you take notes. (In
describing these various positions, poses, and techniques, I will refer
to women as the actor. However, this is a mere expedient, and should
not be considered in any way a sexist misuse of language or the
expression, implicit or otherwise, of a preference for the female over
the male or the shemale in the performance of this action.)
The Pump Action is the basic, standard technique that is likely to be
used in any sex scene that features a handjob. It is also the basis for
many other, more complex positions, poses, and techniques. It is simple
to execute: the woman simply wraps her fingers around the shaft of the
penis, thereafter pushing the skin up and down upon the penile shaft.
For variation, she can increase the tempo and the intensity with which
she "pumps" the skin up and down.
A variation upon the Pump Action is the Double-Fisted Pump Action, a
technique in which the female uses both hands, rather than one, to
effect the action, placing one fist above the other and operating them
both in tandem with one another. This technique shows that the male has
a fairly long penis, since its length is sufficient to accommodate both
of the female's fists, and, therefore, it is favored by photographers
and filmmakers as a means of suggesting that a particular male is
especially virile or macho.
The Up-thrust, as its name implies, is executed by the woman's abrupt
palming of the scrotum, with four fingers on one side and her thumb on
the other side of the sac, followed by a forceful upward thrust of her
hand as she cradles the testicles in this manner. A seemingly
aggressive movement, it is appropriate for scenes involving feminine
domination of men or bondage and discipline (BDSM) scenes in which the
aggressor is the female.
Another position widely shown in femdom or BDSM scenes is the Palm
Restraint, which is typically used with the Pump Action technique. The
woman simply employs the Pump Action technique while resting the palm of
her other hand upon the male's abdomen. The palm implies that she is
holding him in place, or restraining, him and, of course, thereby
asserting her power and authority over him. The subtext is obviously a
command: "Don't get up!"
In performing the Tease maneuver, the woman uses the Pump Action
technique, but keeps her face--and, more specifically, her mouth (which
should effect a smile)--an inch or two from the glans of the erection;
as she masturbates the penis, she pretends, several times, during the
course of the scene, that she will kiss, lick, or otherwise orally
service the penis, without ever actually doing so. The Tease is an
effective means of heightening sexual suspense or of suggesting that the
actress is not as emotionally intimate with the man as she pretends or,
perhaps, would like to be.
The Cradle Pump is a variation upon the basic Pump Action technique. As
in the former, the woman wraps her fingers around the shaft of the
penis, thereafter pushing the skin up and down upon the penile shaft; at
the same time, however, she cradles the testicles in the palm of her
other hand. This technique suggests a maternal intimacy between the
female and the male, which makes it a favorite in photographing or
filming incest scenes that involve mothers and sons.
The Old Faithful is a "cumshot," or a photograph or motion picture
segment that captures the actual ejaculation of the penis. Any other
type of handjob technique can be used in conjunction with Old Faithful,
although the most commonly used one is also the most basic method, the
Pump Action technique. The glamour of the shot is enhanced when the
woman's face is juxtaposed to the ejaculate so that the suggestion is
thereby created that the geyser of semen will splatter the woman's face.
The cumshot is basic to many sex scenes and is sometimes referred to as
the "money shot." Many audiences are annoyed if such a shot does not
occur during a sex scene, because, they believe, the ejaculation of the
penis proves that the action is real or that, in other words, sex
actually occurred between the actors. Nothing matches the cumshot, one
version of which is Old Faithful, for creating verisimilitude.
The Faceful pose is extremely erotic for most magazine "readers" and
moviegoers. As its name suggests, this pose requires the woman to be
splattered in the face with the man's ejaculate. The Faceful pose is,
therefore, another type of cumshot. Any other technique can be used
with it, although the basic Pump Action technique is a favorite among
both photographers and cameramen. To execute this pose, the female must
kneel before the male, facing his genitals. Sometimes, to heighten the
effect of the Faceful, a photographer or a cameraman will take several
shots of film several sequences of the ejaculation, combining them so
that the ejaculation sequence appears to have been much longer and more
copious than it actually was on camera. This pose is especially
suitable to scenes that depict virile, macho men or BDSM relationships
in which the men are the dominant participants (that is, maledom).
The Close-up occurs when the camera zooms in upon the handjob. A type
of special effect, this shot enlarges the image of the penis, making it
seem huge. Often the Close-up is used in conjunction with a cumshot of
some type, so that the ejaculate also seems, as it were, larger than
life. Like the Faceful pose, the Close-up is especially suitable for
maledom scenes.
One of the more complex maneuvers is the Two-Handed, Single Inversion
Penile Manipulator technique, wherein the female turns the wrist of one
hand (for convenience, I will specify her right hand, although, in
actuality, she could employ either) 180 degrees, so that the fingers are
upside-down. This hand is posed in a modified Pump Action configuration
(modified in the sense that the hand is inverted). The left (or other)
hand shoves upward, behind the scrotum, the fingers on one side of the
testicles and the thumb on the other side, thereby thrusting the
testicles forward. As the female holds the testicles forward with this
hand, she masturbates the male with her other, inverted hand. This
technique showcases the female's versatility and is often used by
directors in the photographing or filming of scenes involving
prostitutes or call girls, since it suggests a high degree of
masturbatory expertise and skill on the part of the female performer.
Another, more sophisticated, pose that requires both dexterity and
balance is the Straddle Pump. As its name implies, this position is a
variation of the basic Pump Action method. The female straddles the
male, with her back to his face (offering him a glimpse of her buttocks)
and, as she is seated astride him in this manner, uses the Pump Action
technique to masturbate his penis. This technique is a playful one, and
is often a favorite of photographers and filmmakers who depict eighteen-
or nine-teen-year old girls or young women masturbating their
boyfriends, although older females can use this same position to imply
dominance, since they are, as it were, riding the males whom they are
servicing.
Again, although females have been cited as the performers of these
techniques, anyone, whether female, male, or shemale, may execute them
with equal success, the more basic ones almost intuitively, and the more
sophisticated ones with sufficient rehearsal (practice makes perfect!),
and these positions, poses, and techniques are useful in a variety of
sex scenes, enabling the photographer or the filmmaker to suggest sexual
innocence, insecurity, accomplishment, experience, expertise,
playfulness, dominance, and so forth. Finally, let me end this process
analysis by stating what should be obvious: writers of erotica can also
employ these maneuvers by simply describing their characters performing
them, as I have done throughout this essay, although, hopefully, with
more tantalizing than clinical language.
There are other positions, poses, and techniques for masturbating males,
as there are a number for masturbating females, of course. I may
