Once there was a village on the outskirts of a vast forest. The people of
the village had feared the forest for many many years now, for anyone who
entered it had never returned. Once, the forest had been a source of
herbs and fungi and other precious plants, but since people had started
going missing, nobody dared to go near it.
Three teenage boys: Chris, Roger and Paul had heard the tales many a
time. Each came up with various imaginative reasons for why people had
never returned: eaten by wolves or having fell foul of some dark magic
were the common ones. They all thought these tales amusing but were keen
to see if any of them were true.
"I say we go deep into the forest and then head out," said Chris to his
friends.
"How far is deep? I've heard the forest goes on for miles," asked Roger.
"Who knows? I think some of these tales are a little tall," said Paul.
"I'm for going in and finding out."
Some of the villagers got wind of their plan and told them not to go
through with it. They were undetered and in the early hours of one
morning, sneaked from their homes and headed for the forest.
"It does look huge, doesn't it?" said Paul, as they came to the fringes
of it.
They had all come equipped with trekking equipment: compasses, rope and
food supplies. They didn't know how long they would be in there for, so
they didn't want to chance getting lost.
The floor was dense with undergrowth and mushrooms grew around many of
the trees. There seemed to be no sign of wolves for now, but life was
certainly abundant. Birds could be heard singing and the rustling coming
from the undergrowth suggested small mammals such as badgers and foxes.
"Doesn't look evil in the slightest. You sure people have gone missing in
here?" asked Roger.
"Most likely got lost and came out miles from home on the far side," said
Chris
"Miles? We've only travelled about 500 yards and already its trees as far
as the eye can see in every direction," mentioned Paul. "We'll need those
compasses for sure."
"So what, we have them so we won't get lost. Besides, this place looks
friendly, I want to explore a bit more," said Chris.
The forest didn't seem like a domain of evil. The sun was shining and it
was appearing through whatever gaps appeared overhead. It was most
pleasant. They walked on, deeper into the forest, not remotely
frightened. Then they heard a noise.
"Did you hear that? It sounded like an animal in distress," said Roger.
"It did, I think it came from over there," said Chris. Upon this, Roger
went looking for the source of the sound. He soon found it: an adult doe
was stuck in a pool of mud.
"Pass me a rope!" called Roger, not keen to see an innocent animal
suffer.
The others arrived and gave him the rope. He tied it around his waist and
delved into the muddy pool. He went over to the doe and grabbed hold of
her.
"Steady, I'm here to help you," he told her, as he placed his arms around
her.
The others, now seeing that he had a firm hold of the deer, pulled on the
rope and eventually both were free of the mud.
With the doe now free, they expected it to run away. Instead, it went
over to Roger and licked him.
"I think she likes you!" chuckled Chris.
Roger looked at the doe and smiled. He suddenly realised that he couldn't
take his eyes off her.
"Ok, shes said her thank you, so can we go now?" asked Paul.
Roger was deaf to their words. He looked continued to look at the doe.
She started walking away, looking at him still. He felt a need to follow
her.
Chris and Paul looked at their friend with puzzled looks. They walked
round to face him.
"Hello? Can you hear us buddy?" said Paul into his face.
"I want her," he said, almost zombie like. His eyes were clearly fixed on
the doe alone.
"What the hell is happening to you!" cried Chris, pointing to Roger's
head.
From out of his head, 2 boney stumps were now emerging and growing at an
alarming rate.
"Roger! You're growing...ANTLERS!" cried Paul.
Roger was still miles away, his eyes were fixed on that doe. His friends
were agasp as he pushed them to one side with ease. They then noticed as
his clothes started to tear as his body swelled within. His trousers fell
away as his bum ripped them to shreds, revealing the hind quarters of a
stag. The antlers on his head continued to grow, as did the rest of him.
Chris and Paul were stunned into silence as their friend rapidly changed
into a fully grown stag with just one thing on his mind. With the change
complete, he ran off on all fours after the doe.
"You said this forest was not cursed?!" said Paul to Chris.
"I did," said Chris, still stunned.
"Well, have we just seen our friend turn into a magnificent stag with
girl deers on the brain?!"
"Yes," replied Chris.
"Then I suggest we get out of here," said Paul.
Chris looked at him and nodded in agreement. He didn't know how he was
going to explain Roger when they got out.
"Have you got that compass?" asked Paul.
"Yeah, I think we entered due north, so we need to head south," said
Chris.
"So south is?" asked Paul
"That way," pointed Chris.
They headed off in that direction, but it appeared they had ventured real
deep. They had travelled a good few hundred yards and still, the trees
ahead were dense.
"You sure we're not lost?" said Paul.
"I'm sure we're going the right way!" said Chris, panic now coming into
his voice.
"Wait. I think I heard a howl," said Paul, now feeling uneasy.
They both stood still and listened. Paul wasn't wrong, there was a howl.
"WOLF!!" they shouted together. They looked around in panic and then they
saw the eyes in the undergrowth.
"RUN!" cried Chris. Paul wasn't arguing and did so.
They ran as fast as they could, hoping to outrun the solitary wolf.
"I thought they hunted in packs?" said Chris as they ran.
"I did too!" said Paul. "Ummph"
"PAUL!" cried Chris, noticing that Paul had tripped over a tree root. The
wolf was gaining.
"Get away! Save yourself!" cried Paul.
"I'm not leaving you!" said Chris, now running back to help. He found a
fallen branch and picked it up.
Paul was just getting up when the wolf caught up with him and pinned him
to the ground.
"GET OFF HIM!" cried Chris, waving the branch.
"WAIT!" cried Paul.
"What do you mean! Hes going to eat you!" cried Chris.
"I don't think he does. He's licking me," said Paul.
"WHAT?!" cried Chris. "You now saying that he came chasing us just so he
could be played with?"
Chris looked closer and saw that the wolf was indeed licking his face
like a playful puppy and wagging his tail. He couldn't believe it.
Paul looked up at the face of the wolf and felt happy himself. He looked
between the legs of the animal and saw its throbbing cock. The sight made
him smile.
"Paul! What are you doing? You gonna let that wolf play with you all
day?" said Chris.
"Yes, play with him!" said Paul dreamily, now looking back into the eyes
of the wolf. He reached up and licked the wolf back.
Chris was stunned again. "What are you playing at?!"
"He's asked me to be his mate," said Paul.
Chris was really getting confused and annoyed. "You can understand him?!
He wants you to be his MATE?!"
"Yes, and I'm saying yes," said Paul.
Upon these words, his body began to change. He felt his manhood retract
into him and smiled as the female counterparts replaced them. His face
stretched out into a muzzle while his ears travelled up his head and
became larger and pointed. White and grey fur sprouted all across his
body.
Chris couldn't bear to watch as a female wolf scrambled clear of Paul's
clothes and embraced the wolf. He had seen both his friends transformed.
The two wolves left him, obviously with cub making in mind.
He sat on the floor and sobbed. He was all alone in what was now
certainly in his mind, a place full of magic. After a while he got up and
started walking. He didn't care which way he went, he was too full of
grief and guilt. It was his idea to come in the forest and because of it,
his two friends were now animals and probably on the way to becoming
parents too.
He ventured on until he discovered a light ahead. It was not sunlight, it
was diffracted light, many different colours. It was a beautiful sight
and he was drawn to it.
It led him to a glade full of flowers. It wasn't the flowers that drew
his attention, but the glowing lights about him: fairies. His presence in
this magic place didn't go unnoticed and a number flew over to him.
"We thought you would come," said the one fairy.
"You're fairies!" he said.
"Clever deduction," said the fairy sarcastically. "We guessed you would
come anyhow and this is for the best."
"The best?" said Chris. "What do you mean?"
"This forest is full of magic, our magic and is our domain. We wish to
keep it safe from the corruption of men. That is why all who have entered
this forest have never left. We transform them, but they never come to
harm. Your friends are now living happily among the animals of this
forest."
"But we didn't cause any trouble! We helped that doe in the mud." he
complained.
"Yes, we know. But still, we need to keep those who mean harm away. You
cannot leave this place," she replied.
"So, this means you'll transform me too?" he said.
"Yes, I'm afraid so. You will find happiness here, among us," said the
fairy.
"Us? You mean I'll become a fairy?" he said.
"That is why you came," said the fairy and she started flying in circles
around him.
He felt himself get smaller, feeling numerous changes within him. His
hips widened and his waist narrowed. Breasts formed on his chest. His
hair grew out and became a golden blonde. Lastly, itching on his back
signalled the emergence of his gossamer wings. His clothes had altered to
a glowing purple dress. He looked at the fairy who had changed him.
"How do you like your new look Crystal?" asked the fairy.
Crystal flew over to a small puddle and looked at her reflection.
"I look wonderful," she said, all fear and sadness washed away.
"Welcome to our family," said the fairy and she led the newest fairy to
her new home.
Crystal lived among her new kin, watching over their realm for sign of
more human visitors. Paul and Roger both became parents and forgot about
their human past.
The three boys were never seen in the village again. The villagers
guessed that they had become the latest victims of the Cursed Forest and
were too frightened to search for them. It at least gave them more reason
to tell their children to stay away. Despite this, they knew that the
three boys may never be the last ones to enter.
