The party at Valance had led to a quick drink at a mysterious, basement
club with no name, had led to desert at an Italian bakery and then,
somehow, The Hamptons. Superman had been flush with excitement all
night-- everyone was so well-dressed, so attractive, all A-listers: if
they weren't rich they were about to be, or else artists, actors, people
who had something special, and the whole night was filled with hugs and
kisses and bright talk and music...
Could he live this life? Beautiful socialite? Pretty and surrounded by
pretty... rich and surrounded by rich? Who couldn't?
He thought of the modest apartment he and Lois shared, about his job,
his secret identity. So bland, so boring, so drab and dull and
ordinary, pretending to be a reporter on a television station that lost
more viewers by the day. Sure, Superman had excitement, but his
everyday life? So boring. So ordinary.
Why shouldn't his real life be an adventure? Why should he do something
for himself and just walk away from the super-hero business once and for
all?
Carloads arrived at Luther's mansion just before dawn. As Lex took
Superman's hand and helped him out of the limo, two young women-- the
Haverford Sisters, rushed up and each grabbed one of Superman's hands,
dragging him with them. "We're kidnapping her!" One of the girls sang.
"Where..." Superman started to ask.
"The beach! To watch the sunrise and drink mimosas!"
"Um...." he glanced back at Lex.
Luther smiled. "Go ahead, cutie. Have some fun with the girls."
"Kay, bye!" Superman called out, letting himself be dragged along,
joining in with the cloud of giggles.
"I don't have a suit," he said.
"Don't worry. Lex has all kinds."
"Bikinis?"
"He likes to... entertain...." one of them said, rolling her eyes.
They dragged him to a room off the infinity pool, filled now with women
in various stages of undress, slipping out of this, into that...
Superman felt suddenly self-conscious as he checked out the other girls,
and saw some full, mature women... gorgeous, full breasted women, and he
felt self-conscious, again, about the slender, girlishness of his
figure.
Searching through the piles of bikinis, he thought of begging off, but
he didn't want the other girls to think he was a wimp. My God, he
thought. You've saved the world. Are you actually going to be afraid
now to put on a bathing suit? Besides, everyone keeps telling me how
pretty I am.
After dithering here and there, he pulled a suit out of the pile and
smiled. Lex would love me in this, he thought. It was plaid, like a
Catholic School girl's uniform, and said pretty and sexy and sweetly
innocent... all the things he knew Lex wanted him to be. Plus, the push
up would give him at least another cup. He sighed. I shouldn't be
dressing to please Lex, should I? He thought. But it was a really cute
little suit, and besides, this was all something special for Lex. A
one- time thing. Why not just go with it?
He turned away from the other girls and quickly slipped out his dress
and replaced his bra and panties with the suit, following the other
girls out onto the beach where they were handed mimosas by a small army
of female servants that seemed to have emerged from out of nowhere.
As the sun rose over the crashing waves, Superman found himself kneeling
behind Kim Kardashian, playfully braiding her long, dark hair into a
French braid. "You have amazing hair, Kim," he said.
Kim turned and gave him a smile. "Thanks."
The sky flowered into egg shell blues and pinks, and Superman sighed,
"It's so pretty."
He finished with Kim's hair, and she gave his hand a squeeze, looking at
him curiously. "You really have turned into a sweet girl," she said.
"Thanks," Superman answered.
"It's hard for me to even believe you used to be a man, let alone
Superman."
And he felt suddenly very self-conscious of his bare body, the bikini,
his soft breasts and curves. "Well, I guess, I mean..."
"Oh no," Kim said. "No... no... I mean it as a compliment. I just
love you."
"Oh. Okay. I wonder sometimes..."
"I'm going to do your hair now," Kim said. "Because."
Superman heard a call for help. A fishing boat. Sinking. He should
go, he thought. Rescue. But he felt so happy, so comfortable, and he
had promised.
"How about pigtails," Kim said.
"Cute," Superman said. "Okay."
Gradually, the blush of morning gave way, and the girl's chatter began
to diminish. They started to retreat to the beach chairs, and as they
lay back and prepared to sunbath, one by one they took off their tops,
allowing their breasts to bask in the sun. Superman watched nervously
as they all joined in, and felt like he really had no choice but to take
off his top as well.
I just wish my breasts weren't so small, he thought, annoyed and
embarrassed both that they were so small and that he was thinking so
much like a woman. He shouldn't be here, laying in the sun with all
these girls, getting his hair braided. There was work to do, real work.
But he lay back, closed his eyes and drifted into sleep, basking in the

And then a chorus of soft voices sighed in disappointment, "yes, Lex."
And Superman smiled. "He really does care," he thought. "Oh, Lex."
He slipped back into his dress. His heels. One thing about being Super
Barbie, he thought. I don't suffer for my beauty!
God. Did I just think that? I can't believe how I am acting... did I
just suck on Lex's thumb? And he shuddered and was flush with shame.
It was... being a female... he had these impulses now, these needs,
these girl feelings, but the man, the part that was still there
underneath all the hormones and make-up and pretty jewelry, that part
was ashamed and disgusted. It was... he was submissive, and if he
stayed like this and remained a woman, would he do that? And more?
Yes. He knew he would.
But what if it were Superboy? Would it be so bad? He would love to
love him... he was so.. perfect. And maybe then...
I have to figure out who did this. Why. I have to at least know that,
at least try and find a way back to being a man, so I know if I have a
choice, or if I just have to accept that I am going to spend my life in
