Jessica Rabbit, a Pirate Wench, or ...
by Teddie S.
As I walked into the G&H Costume Shoppe, the girl behind the counter
asked, "Can I help you?"
I was there looking for a part-time job. I wanted to make a little
extra money to buy my girlfriend, Patti, something really nice for her
eighteenth birthday. Halloween was just a little more than six weeks
away and I knew that the big costume shop in town hired part-time help
for Halloween. This shop was the place that everyone in town, including
my family, went to when they wanted to dress up for Halloween. So, I'd
been to the G&H Costume Shoppe a number of times.
"Yeah," I answered, "I heard that you're hiring part-timers for
Halloween."
"Yes we are. You interested?" she replied.
"Could be."
"Wait a second and I'll find the manager."
She ran off toward the back of the store. She was back quickly and
said, "She'll be right with you."
"Thanks. What's it like around here during Halloween?"
"In one word, crazy."
"Really?"
"Yeah. People always wait until the last minute and expect you to have
exactly what they want."
I just shook my head.
Just then a woman walked up, and said, "Hi. I'm Gloria, the manager.
Don't I know you?"
"Probably. My whole family is always in here renting costumes for
Halloween."
"Yeah. There's five or six of you."
"Six."
"So, I hear that you might be interested in working for us?"
"Part-time if I could. I'm a senior at Central High and could work some
weekday evenings and weekends, as long as it didn't get in the way of
studying. And, three days a week I have early dismissal since I have
most of my credits and I could come in early those days."
Gloria and I went back to her office and talked some more. The pay, for
part-time, wasn't bad and the hours were flexible. Also, for the whole
month before Halloween we were required to dress in costume, and I
didn't have a problem with doing that. So, I got the part-time job and
I was going to be only one of two guys working with ten women.
My first day at the costume shop wasn't very exciting and not very busy.
I was given the tour of the building, including the stockroom, and I was
shown how to use the cash register. Then I just followed one of the
girls around as she did her job, helping customers, fitting costumes,
answering questions, and things like that. I'm a quick learner and I
quickly picked up what I was supposed to do.
At the end of my first week, Gloria told us that we were going to start
wearing costumes soon when we worked, until Halloween, and to pick out
something. And, that we were all going to be dressing as cartoon
characters, so I started looking around and just couldn't decide. There
was just too many to choose from. Gloria saw me looking and asked,
"Having a problem Russ?"
"Yeah. There's just too many to choose from. I've been everything from
a clown, to a cowboy, to a space man, to a vampire, and I just don't
know."
"Well maybe we can help." Then she shouted, "Hey everyone! Come on over
here. Russ is having a problem choosing a costume."
It wasn't long until everyone that was working that day was standing
around me. April, the girl that was working the counter when I first
came in, said, "No idea Russ?"
"No. Not really," I replied.
Then Gloria said, "Well since we're all dressing as cartoon characters,
it needs to be something along that line."
Jean, one of the other girls, said, "Matt's going to be Roger Rabbit.
So, that's gone. He could be Daffy Duck, Mickey, Road Runner, or
something along that line."
I just looked at her and shook my head.
"How about an anime character?" April asked.
"Maybe," I replied.
"Sailor Moon?"
"That's a girl!"
"So, it's only a costume."
"I don't think so."
I saw Faith, another one of the full timers and a wizard with makeup,
whisper something to Gloria. Then Gloria looked at me and whispered
something back to Faith. Then Gloria said, "Russ. Are you willing to
go all out?"
"All out?"
"If I remember correctly your family really likes to dress up for
Halloween, and I bet we can out do them."
I wasn't too sure about where this was going, but I said, "What do you
mean, out do them?"
"Well. Your parents do go all out for Halloween. Don't they?"
"Yeah."
"Basically anything goes. Right?"
"Yeah. They do go a little overboard and they also host a party at the
house."
"Matt's going to be Roger Rabbit. How about you being Jessica?"
"Jessica?"
"Jessica Rabbit."
"Jessica Rabbit? But, that's a girl too!"
"Sure."
"No way."
"Why? It's only a costume."
"But, I don't look like a girl."
"Russ," Faith said, "this is a costume shop. We can work magic."
"But, dress as Jessica Rabbit for a month?"
"It's only while you're here."
"But, won't it take too long to get ready?"
Gloria looked at Faith. Faith looked at me and said, "I don't think so.
I think we can do it fairly quickly once we have everything together."
"I don't know."
"Come on Russ. You and Matt would look cute together," April said.
With a real grin Matt added, "P-p-please Russ. It'll be fun."
"Fun for who?" I asked.
"All of us," everyone said in unison.
"Russ," Gloria said, "just try it, and if you don't like it you can find
something else."
We all talked about it some more. Them trying to talk me into it. And,
me trying to talk my way out of it. Later that same evening, after I
was home, I looked on the internet for pictures of Jessica Rabbit and
Jessica Rabbit costumes. And, what I found made me really wonder if
saying yes was a wise decision. How was I going to wear something like
what she wears? Or, look anything like her?
The following day after school as I walked into the shop Faith was
waiting for me, she smiled, and said, "You ready?"
"Ready?" I asked.
"To become Jessica Rabbit."
"I don't know."
"What's wrong?"
"I was looking on-line at some the Jessica Rabbit stuff, and I think it
may be too much."
"Too much?"
"Yeah. The dresses she wears show way too much."
"I know. But, if you'll go along with me, I think we can make it work."
"Go along with you?"
"Uh huh. We'll need to do a number of things."
"Like?"
"To start with, I think we should get rid of all your body hair."
"Do what!?"
"Ever see a hairy girl?"
"No."
"So, the body hair should go."
"I don't know. What will everyone say?"
"Probably nothing. But, if they do just tell them you're getting ready
for Halloween."
"But, it's more than a month away."
"So, it's part of your job."
"Well.... Okay. What else?"
"Make your body look like a girls."
"How do we do that?"
"With some special things."
"Special things?"
"A panty that'll give you hips and a butt. And, breast forms."
"Breast forms?"
"Uh huh. Attachable ones."
"Attachable?"
"Yeah."
"Won't it take a long time to put all this together just for work?"
"Not really. It'll be easy. I think once we get it figured out, and
you learn to do your own makeup, that it shouldn't take that long to get
you ready."
"Makeup! Not a mask?"
"After you left yesterday, Gloria and I looked at the Jessica Rabbit
masks and they're kind of lame. So, we figured that makeup would be
better."
"Oh."
"It's not that bad and won't take that much. I'll even teach you to do
your own."
"This is getting to be too much."
"Russ. It'll be fun. We all love the idea and will help you. And,
it's only for a little while. Gloria also thinks it might help with
sales."
"Help with sales?"
"Having people see what we can do."
With a deep sigh and a lot of reservation, I said, "All right. What do
we have to do?"
"Today. Just to get together what we need. To see if we have the
proper dress or if we need to make one. To find a wig and a pair of
shoes. But, first I need to take some measurements, so you need to
undress and put this on."
She handed me a pair of, for lack of a better word, panties, that looked
like they had a problem. I looked at Faith with a questioning look.
She smiled at me and said, "They're padded. They'll give you hips and a
butt."
"Oh."
I went into one of the changing rooms and undressed. Then I looked at
the panties for a second and went to slip them on. They were tight and
it was a struggle to get them on. They felt strange, but looking in a
mirror, they did give me hips and a butt. It also took me a little
while to adjust certain things to make them comfortable.
I walked out of the changing room and Faith was waiting with a measuring
tape. She went to work measuring every part of my body. When she was
done, she said, "Now we need to find you some shoes."
"What kind?"
"Heels."
"Heels?"
"Sure. Jessica Rabbit wears some really high heels. But, I figure that
we better not get too high. We don't want you breaking your neck."
"I've got to walk in heels?"
"Sure. It's part of the costume."
I shook my head and sighed.
As she handed me a package, she said, "Put these on and get dressed
Then we'll run over to the shoe store."
"We have shoes here."
"But, not in your size."
"Oh."
I looked at the package and it was a pair of knee high nylons. I looked
at her and said, "Nylons?"
"Sure. You'll be wearing pantyhose with the costume."
"Oh." I guess 'Oh' was becoming my favorite word.
A few minutes later we were pulling up in front of Luck Shoes. I'd over
heard what my mother and sister had said about this store and it
supposedly had the sexiest shoes in town.
As Faith and I walked in, we were greeted very warmly by one of the
sales ladies who apparently knew Faith.
The sales lady finally asked, "What are we looking for today?"
Faith looked at me and said, "A pair of sexy red heels that'll fit him."
The sales lady looked at me, I knew I was beet red, and she said, "Don't
be embarrassed. We do this all the time."
"You do?" I asked.
"Sure. You'd be surprised, just how many men like to wear women's
shoes."
Almost an hour later, after trying on what must have been a dozen pairs
of shoes, I was finally standing, or should I say wobbling, in a pair of
red sequin shoes with four inch heels and ankle straps. I said to
Faith, "I'll never be able to wear these."
"Sure you will," she replied.
The sales lady said, "You'll be surprised how quickly you'll learn to
walk in them. I have gentlemen come in and buy shoes with much higher
heels and platforms."
"All it will take is a little practice," Faith added.
"Do you really think this is going to work?" I asked.
"Yes. I really do. I think we can make you look like Jessica Rabbit."
"Jessica Rabbit!?" the sales lady said.
"He's one of our clerks at the costume shop and we always dress up for
Halloween, and we want to see if we can make him look like Jessica
Rabbit."
With a grin the sales lady said, "That could be fun."
As I wobbled and teetered in the shoes, I said, "As long as I don't
break a leg in these."
"With a little practice you'll be fine."
"When and where am I going to do that?"
"At the store when we're not busy and at home if you can," Faith
replied.
"If you say so."
She just smiled at me.
On the way back to the store, Faith asked, "Do you have anyone that can
help remove your body hair?"
"Oh... ah... Do we really have to do that?"
She looked at me, smiled, and said, "Russ. If you don't want to do
this, say so now."
"Well... I guess maybe my mom."
"See if she will. And,..."
"And?"
"We really need to work on your eyebrows."
"What!?"
"They need to be... well sexy."
"Sexy. How?"
"Thin and arched. There's a way to cover your eyebrows and draw on what
we want. But, up close they don't look good. And, it takes some time to
do. It would be better if we could just shape your own."
"Ah. Could we try covering them?"
"Sure."
After we were back at the costume shop Faith showed Gloria the shoes and
she said, "Those are so darling. Can he walk in them?"
"He didn't do too bad at the shoe store," Faith said, "I figure with
practice he'll do just fine."
I just rolled my eyes.
That evening when I got home, I found my parents in the den, and said,
"Mom. Can I see you for a minute?"
As she got up, she said, "Sure honey. Come on in the kitchen."
I followed her into the kitchen, she turned, looked at me, and asked,
"What's wrong honey?"
"This whole costume thing at the store."
"What about it?"
"They talked me into dressing up as a girl."
"A girl?"
"Yeah. And, they want it to be good."
"Well. Their clerks there always look good around Halloween, and even
on other holidays."
"Faith wants me to go as far as removing all my body hair."
"That's no big thing."
"No big thing!? All the hair on my arms, chest, back, and legs, isn't a
big thing?"
"Well I guess maybe it is. But, it's only until Halloween."
"Also, she said something about shaping my eyebrows."
"Your eyebrows.... Well, they'll grow back."
"But, how do I explain it at school?"
"I guess use the job and Halloween as an excuse."
"You're beginning to sound like everyone at the store. That's what they
said. But, Patti is going to think I'm weird."
"No, she won't. Just explain it to her."
"So, you don't have a problem with me doing this?"
"Honey. It's a costume for work and it's only for a short time."
"A month is a short time?"
"Well. Maybe a little long, but it won't be that bad."
"If I decide to do this, can you help me with the body hair?"
"Sure honey. When?"
"I guess tomorrow morning before I go to the shop."
"Sure. Who are you going to be?"
"They're doing animated characters, and I'm... I'm going to be Jessica
Rabbit."
"Jessica Rabbit? Isn't that awful sexy?"
"Tell me about it. I don't know if I can do it. Maybe a plain girl,
but not this."
Working had put a crimp in seeing Patti. But, we had a date tomorrow
night. Tonight I spent about an hour on the phone with her and finally
told her the whole story of the costume. She was very quiet for a
while. But, finally she said, "I think it's cute."
"Cute!?" I replied.
"Sure. I think you'll look cute as a girl. I can't wait."
"I sure can."
"Russ. It'll be okay."
"You'll think I'm weird."
"I already do."
I could hear the smile in her voice. So, I answered, "Yeah. I'm dating
you."
"Yeah. And, you'll be even weirder dressed as Jessica Rabbit."
"See I told you."
"Love. It's only when you're at work and it's only a costume. Just go
with it."
"Really?"
"Yes. I really think you'll have fun with it once you relax. Sure,
you'll get some kidding at school. But, just ignore it."
"I guess."
Early Saturday morning there was a knock on my bedroom door, and I said,
"Yeah."
"Honey. If you want to do your hair before you go to work you'd better
get up," my mom said.
"Okay. I'll meet you in our bathroom."
"We'd better use mine. It's bigger."
Five minutes later, wearing only my underpants, I walked into my
parents' bathroom. My mother was waiting for me, and I saw a few
bottles sitting on the counter. I looked at her and she smiled. I
guess the look on my face said what I was thinking, as she said, "Russ,
it'll be fine."
I frowned, and asked, "How are we doing this?"
"I figured that using a hair removal cream might be the best."
"Why?"
"If we shaved you. We would have to do it every day or two. We could
wax you and probably only do it once. Maybe twice. But, you wouldn't
like it."
"Why?"
"It hurts."
"Hurts?"
"The hairs are actually pulled out. Roots and all."
"Do they grow back?"
"In about a month or so. Want to do that?"
"No!"
My mother went to work applying the remover to my body from the neck
down, except down there. Afterwards as I was getting in the shower, she
said, "There's a bottle of moisturizing lotion on the counter. When
you're finished with your shower, rub it all over yourself, and I'll do
your back."
The shower was very interesting. I was worried as I watched my hair
wash down the drain. But, feeling my soft, smooth, body afterwards was
kind of nice. As I was applying the moisturizer, I noticed that it had
a very nice smell to it.
I walked into the costume shop at about a quarter to ten. We opened at
ten. Gloria was the first to see me and with a smile asked, "Still
going to do Jessica?"
"I guess. I'm still worried about what the guys at school are going to
say if they notice my hairless arms. And, if Faith has to do my
eyebrows it'll be all over with."
"I don't think you'll have a problem. And, I think Faith will be able
to do something short of plucking yours too much."
"Really?"
"Yes. She's really good at doing makeup. She's done a lot of
theatrical work. Not to mention some really scarey stuff for Halloween.
Have her show you her scrapbook."
Just then Faith walked in and with a big grin, said, "Hi Jessica."
I looked at her, frowned, and said, "Don't go there."
"Don't worry Russ. I promise we'll have fun with this. I think I've
got everything we need. Ready to see what we can do?"
"But, won't Gloria need me on the floor?"
"No," Gloria said, "I had one of the other part-timers come in to cover
for you."
I just looked at her, and she added, "I knew that it was going to take
Faith a little while this time. So, I figured that I wouldn't rush
her."
I followed Faith into the storeroom area, and it looked like she had
curtained off an area to make a complete dressing room. As we walked
through the curtain, I looked around, and it was a complete dressing
room, complete with a dressing table, lighted mirror, and what looked
like a professional chair that you'd see in a barber or beauty shop.
I said, "A little much. Isn't it?"
"No," she replied, "It'll make it easier and quicker for you to change."
"What do we need to do?"
"Get you looking like a girl."
I just looked at her.
She continued with, "Go on and strip, put on the padded panty, then call
me, and we'll get started."
She turned and walked out through the curtain. I looked around and saw
the panty laying on the dressing table bench. I also saw the dress. The
only thing that I could tell about the dress was that it was red and
long. I also saw a long red wig sitting on the dressing table.
As I slowly started to undress, I was thinking, 'Why am I doing this?
I'll have everyone at school laughing at me. And, Patti won't want to
see me anymore.'
Then my thoughts changed and I started thinking, 'Gloria and Faith have
gone to a lot of trouble and this might just be fun. Who cares about
what they think at school. They'll get over it. Patti? I guess we'll
just see what happens when she sees me.'
Finally I'd gotten all my clothes off and struggled into the panty. I
called to Faith and told her. I was ready. She walked back in through
the curtain, smiled, and said, "I see you're hairless."
"Yeah," I replied, "My mom was willing to help me."
"Are you ready for this?"
I took a deep breath and said, "I guess. What's first?"
"Your boobs."
"My boobs?"
"Sure. Got to get you a girl's figure. Have a seat and we'll get these
attached."
I sat in the chair and watched as Faith brought over two boxes. She
said, "Jessica Rabbit is a big girl, so you need to be one too. These
forms are a large size. They'll be heavy, but you'll get used to them."
"Yeah. Right," I said, "Do we really have to attach them?"
She smiled and said, "Yes. With this dress, you can't wear a bra. In
fact it has a built in underwire bra. And, it shows a lot of skin."
I watched as Faith picked up the two boxes and set them on a small work
table. She removed a very real looking breast form from one of the
boxes, and said, "When you're taking these off, be sure you put them
back in the right box."
I just stared at them.
Then she said, "These are professional theater forms. And, we'll use a
medical adhesive to hold them on."
"Adhesive!", I said, "How do we get 'em off?"
With a little smile she said, "You just wear them for a week or two
until the adhesive wears out, or use the adhesive remover."
"Ah. I'll take the remover. I don't want to be stuck with these."
With a bigger smile, she said, "Half the world has them and can't take
them off."
She had me sit in the chair. Then after leaning it back, she took one
of the forms, and carefully placed it on my chest. She then carefully
marked its location with a pencil. Then removed the form, cleaned my
skin, and carefully applied some adhesive to the back of the form. She
waited until the adhesive was tacky, then as she carefully placed the
form on my chest she said, "You want to be sure the form is in the
correct position, because starting over is a pain."
"A pain?" I said.
"You have to remove the form, clean it, clean the skin, and start from
scratch."
"You've done this before. Haven't you?"
"I've applied a lot of stage prosthetics including breast forms."
"Thought so."
When she was happy with this one, she did the other one. Then she took a
small bottle, which had a brush in the top, and she carefully worked
around the edges. When she was done, she said, "I found forms that were
as close to your skin tone as I cold, but they're not a perfect match.
So, what we'll do, is change your skin tone and blend it, where we have
to, so it matches the forms. That'll make them look like they're real."
"You can do that?" I asked.
"Sure. When I'm done, and I'll teach you, you shouldn't be able to tell
where the forms end and you begin."
I watched as she carefully worked the adhesive around the edges of the
forms. Then she worked with a theatrical type makeup on my chest,
blending it from the edges of the forms onto my chest. When she was
done, she said, "Sit up, but do it slowly so you get used to the weight,
and take a look."
I did as she said, and these forms were heavy and pulled on my chest. I
looked in the mirror and saw myself with breasts, and they did look like
they were really mine. I just stared.
Faith asked, "Something wrong?"
"It's just weird seeing breasts on me."
"Wait until we're done, then you'll see a pretty girl with a great set
of knockers."
She walked over to the dresser, picked up a bra, and handed it to me as
she said, "Here put this on. It'll help take the weight off your
chest."
I was good at getting these off a girl, but not putting them on.
Especially putting them on myself. Faith saw my puzzlement and with her
usual grin said, "I bet you know how to get one off, but not put one on.
Right?"
"Yeah."
"All right. Wrap it around you with the clasp in front and fasten the
clasp."
I did as she said.
"Now spin it around until the cups are in front. Then slip your arms
through the straps, then bend over and adjust your breasts so they're
comfortably in the cups."
As I started doing what she said, I said, "My breasts?"
"They are until we take them off."
When I got the forms settled into the cups and stood back up, it did
feel better. No more pulling on my chest, but the straps cut into my
shoulders. I adjusted them a little and it helped.
"Now," Faith said, "I think we need to get you into the shoes."
"Why?" I asked.
"So that you can get used to them. The more you wear them the better."
Then as she handed me a package, she added, "But, first we need to get
you into a pair of pantyhose."
"Pantyhose?" I asked.
"Jessica has long sexy legs. You have nice long legs for a guy. And,
the pantyhose will make them look better. These are nude to the waist."
"How do I put these things on?"
Faith took the package from me, opened it, carefully removed the hose,
and said, "Watch."
She was wearing a skirt, so she kicked off her shoes, sat down, and
carefully gathered up one leg of the hose. She then slipped her foot
into the foot part of the hose and carefully slid the hose up to about
her knee. Then she did the same with the other leg. She stopped here,
looked at me, and said, "Then you stand up and carefully work the hose
all the way up. When you get them up, you smooth each leg to be sure
there aren't any wrinkles. Think you can do it?"
"I think."
"Be careful. Nylons run very easily, that's why I got you a dozen pairs
to start with."
She carefully took the hose off and handed them to me. I copied what
she had done. Then I stood up and carefully worked them up to my waist.
I'd felt pantyhose before, but on a girl's leg. This was the first time
I'd ever put a pair on and all I can say is, wow! I've never felt
anything like this before, my friend reacted and I was glad I was
wearing the tight panties.
Faith then picked up the shoes and handed them to me. I looked at them
and thought, 'I'm going to break my neck in those things.'
After I had them on, Faith offered me her hand and helped me stand. I
was wobbly and felt like I was going to fall. She looked at me and
said, "Just relax and try to not over compensate."
"I'll try," I said, "But, I really feel off balance. The forms and the
heels are just throwing everything off."
"We'll take it slow. The heels should force you to take small steps and
you should. And, I'll hold your hands."
She took my hand and I took a step. Then another. And another. With
each step I felt a little better. Finally I was able to at least stand
in one place and not feel like I was going to fall. But, I'd get wobbly
when walking and had to grab onto something.
Faith said, "You need to practice in those as much as you can. Can you
do it at home?"
"Maybe."
"Take them home and practice, practice, practice. Then, when your
working and we're slow, come back here and wear them for a while."
I walked around some more, then asked Faith, "How do girls' walk in
these things?"
"It's a learned thing and they usually don't start out with such a high
heel. Now, come on over to the dressing table and we'll get you looking
like a girl."
The feeling of the added weight on my chest and how it moved was
different. Really different. I made it over to the dressing table
bench and sat. But, it felt funny with my heels four inches above my
toes.
Faith took a good close look at me, and said, "I'll try covering your
eyebrows and drawing in Jessica's, but if that doesn't work I'm afraid
we'll have to work on them if we want this to look good."
"I hope this works."
"We'll see."
Faith went to work. First came what she called a wig cap. She placed
that over my head and carefully tucked my hair under it. She then took
two pieces of tape, and as she attached them to my forehead and ran them
back over the wig cap, she said, "This will give you more of an arch to
your eyebrows."
Then she started working on my eyebrows. She asked, "Do you mind if I
clean them up a bit?"
"What to you mean?" I asked.
"Just remove a few of the stray hairs and even them up."
"I guess."
She took a pair of tweezers and started on my eyebrows. It hurt. But,
I figured that I'd complained too much already, so I sat there and let
her work.
After a few minutes, she stopped, and said, "That's a little better.
Now, lets see what we can do with some makeup."
I'm not sure what she did, but she really worked on them. When she was
done, she stood back and looked. I could tell by the look on her face
that she wasn't really happy. She finally said, "I don't know. This
will take a lot of time every day. We'll see what Gloria has to say
when we're done."
"We're not going to have to pluck them. Are we?" I said.
"We just might have to."
Then came the rest of my makeup. She'd already used a concealer and a
foundation when she did my brows, so it was everything else. As she
worked, she told me everything she was using and how she was using it.
It was like I was getting a lesson in applying makeup.
First she used a powder to set the foundation. Then she said, normally
a girl used two or three shades of eyeshadow, but that Jessica had just
used a light blue and that's what she used. That was followed by
carefully applying liquid eyeliner. Then mascara, she first used a
lengthener and then the mascara itself. The lipstick was a real red,
and she put it on in a way that gave me pouty lips especially after she
used a liner and some gloss on them. She explained that Jessica never
used a blush, like a real girl would, so for the time being we wouldn't
either.
Then came the long red wig. She carefully placed it over the wig cap,
and worked on it trying to get it into a style like Jessica would have.
She styled it so it fell over my right eye and went behind my left ear.
Then she used a lot of hair spray to hold it in place.
Then she said, "Take a look."
I slowly turned around and looked in the mirror. I was shocked. I saw
a girl looking back at me. A girl with long red hair falling well below
her shoulders. A girl that I'd be afraid to talk to. I couldn't take
my eyes off of her. Finally I saw Faith's reflection in the mirror and
she was smiling, as she said, "Told you that I could make you look like
a girl."
"God. I can't believe this."
"It could be better."
"How?"
"Your eyebrows. It would look much better if your own were properly
arched. Especially up close. We need to see what Gloria thinks. I'll
be right back."
I just continued to stare at myself until Faith came back with Gloria.
Gloria said, "Turn around and let me see."
I slowly turned to face the two women.
Faith said, "Stand up and let Gloria see the full effect."
I carefully stood up. Gloria looked at me and started to smile. A very
big smile. Then she said, "Faith. What have you done with Russ? This
is a ringer. A real girl. But, if it is Russ, you've out done yourself.
She's gorgeous."
"It's Russ. What do you think about her eyebrows?" Faith asked.
Gloria moved closer and looked closely at my eyes. Then said, "You're
right. When I first saw her, they looked good. But, up close not so
much. They would look a lot better if they were her own brows and
nicely shaped."
"Her?" I asked.
"Russ. The guy's gone. There's a girl standing here. So, her it is."
"Oh."
"Do you think Faith could work on your eyes?"
"I... I don't know."
"Afraid of what people will say?"
"Kind of."
"Like we said, just tell them it's for your Halloween costume, and
you're trying different looks out early."
"Maybe."
Gloria left and Faith said, "Russ. It'll be okay. We won't get too
extreme."
With a deep sigh, I said, "Okay. Go ahead."
Faith carefully removing the makeup that covered my eyebrows, then said,
"I'm just going to do a little today. We'll clean them up some more and
start shaping them."
"Then what?"
"Over time, we'll work on shaping them, so that when we put on your
makeup they look feminine."
She went to work on them. And, I mean she worked on them. And, it hurt.
I gritted my teeth and endured the pain. When she had finished plucking,
she reapplied the makeup, then used a pencil to define my brows. Then
she stood back and took a good look, smiled, nodded yes, and said, "Now
take a look."
I turned toward the mirror and I had to admit, she was right, they
really did look better.
She said, "Looks better. Don't they?"
"If they were a girl's, I'd have to admit, they do."
"All right lets get you into the dress. But, first the bra has to go."
"Really?"
"Sure. Remember with this dress you can't wear a bra, that's why it has
built in one."
I tried to figure out how to take the bra off. I'd taken them off girls
and had seen girls take them off, but hadn't paid attention. I saw
Faith grin as she said, "Try reaching behind your back with both hands
and grabbing where the fastener is and unhook it."
I did as she said and it was hard getting my arms to bend that way, but
after a little struggle I did and slipped the bra off. And, again I
felt the full weight of the forms pulling on my chest.
Faith walked over to where the dress was hanging and carefully took it
off the hanger. She walked over to me and held it out. I looked at her
and asked, "How do I do this?"
"You slip it over your head and put your arms through the straps."
I did as she said, and I think it was the easiest part of this whole
thing.
This dress, as I later found out, was a floor length, low cut, form
fitting, open back dress, with a side slit that went well up on the hip,
and spaghetti straps. Of course it was red, and it showed a lot of
cleavage.
Faith again stood back and took a good look at her work, then said,
"Russ. You had doubts that I could make you look like a girl. Take a
look in the full length mirror and tell me what you think."
I turned and looked in the mirror. Again, there was that girl that I'd
be afraid to talk to, looking back at me. Now dressed in a dress that
clung to every curve that she had. But, it wasn't a her, it was me.
And, I had curves?
I finally heard Faith say, "Well?"
"I guess you can," I replied, "I'm impressed and scared."
"Scared?"
"Yeah. That I look so much like a girl."
"Don't worry. It's all makeup magic. Now. Jessica Rabbit wore opera
length gloves. You can do that, but it might be cumbersome working with
customers. So, we need to do something with your hands."
"Like what?"
"Your nails. Your hands should look good. If you were a real girl, I'd
suggest getting extensions. We could use press on nails, but over the
course of a month we'd go through a lot of them. Or,... you could get a
manicure."
"A manicure?"
"Sure. It'll just make your nails even and look nice. Then we just use
polish on them every day that you're Jessica and then remove it."
"Sounds like a lot of work."
"Probably easier then the press ons."
"Really?"
"Yes. They go on quickly, but you have to soak your hands for about
fifteen minutes to remove them. Then to reuse them they have to be
glued on. And, that takes even longer to remove."
"Oh."
"Also, I think a pedicure would be good too."
"A pedicure?"
"With those open toed shoes, your toes need to look nice."
With another deep sigh, I said, "Okay. I guess I'm in this for the
whole thing."
Faith grinned, and said, "Good. Shall we reveal Jessica Rabbit to the
world?"
"Huh?"
"Come on. Lets let everyone see what we've done."
"Oh. Yeah. Sure. I guess."
As she handed me a pair of long purple gloves, Faith said, "Slip these
on and you're complete."
I slipped them on and pulled them up. They went up above my elbows.
Faith helped me walk from the dressing area to the door to the sales
floor. Then she said, "Wait here. I want to formally present you."
"Okay. Don't be long."
After she closed the door behind her, I thought, 'God. Can I do this?'
And, I became very nervous.
A minute later April came busting through the door and almost knocked me
over. She looked at me, did a double take, and said, "My god. Faith
did make you look like Jessica Rabbit."
"Yeah. I know," I said.
"You look wonderful. And, sexy as hell."
"That's all I need."
"What?"
"That I look sexy as a girl."
"Russ, it's only a costume."
"I know. A girl's costume."
Faith walked back in, and saw April, and said, "So, April, what do you
think of our girl?"
"She looks fantastic."
"I think so too."
"I don't," I replied.
"Russ. Everyone will think it's fun. Are you ready for your coming
out?"
I replied, "No. But, go on."
"It'll be fine. You'll see."
Faith opened the door all of the way and the three of us walked out of
the store room, and Faith said, "Everyone. I'd like to present Miss
Jessica Rabbit."
All the employees that were working were standing there, as were about a
dozen customers. I looked at everyone, and there was a look of shock on
most of the employee's faces. I saw Matt tell a couple of the customers
that I was really a guy. And, I heard one woman in surprise say, "That
can't be a man!"
Gloria turned and told her loud enough for everyone to hear, "Yes she
is. We wanted to show what a good costume and makeup job can do. So,
we talked one of our male employees into dressing up as Jessica Rabbit.
And, this is the result."
Gloria then started to applaud and most of the others joined her. I
felt my face get warm.
Then I saw April get a big smile, turn, and head into the store, as she
yelled, "Wait. Wait. She needs something."
April was gone a short time and when she came back, she ran up to me
with a cigarette holder that had a fake cigarette in it, and handed it
to me. I don't know why, I must have remembered one of the pictures
that I saw of Jessica with a cigarette holder, but I struck what I
thought was a sexy pose.
Then there was a flash and it startled me. It was Matt. He'd taken a
picture, and he said, "For the store photo wall."
Faith said, "Make it an eight by ten. And, take a few more."
With Faith's help I struck a number of sexy poses, including sticking my
leg out the side slit in the dress, and Matt took more pictures. I saw
some smiles and some people shaking their heads in disbelief. I don't
know why, but this was starting to be fun.
Faith finally said, "All right. You're having too much fun with this.
Lets get you back to being Russ."
We went back to the stock room, and Faith helped me remove everything
and showed me how to properly remove makeup. Using the adhesive remover,
she carefully removed the breast forms, and showed me how to clean them
and my chest.
When we had me back to being Russ, I said, "I'll never be able to do all
of this."
"Sure you will. It'll take a little teaching on my part, but I think
you'll be surprised. But, you will also need a few lessons in being
feminine."
"Being feminine?"
"I watched you just now and you acted like a guy in a dress."
"But, I am a guy in a dress."
"But, you need to come across as more of a girl. It'll really add to
the effect. It's like an actor getting into a role."
When I went back out onto the sales floor to finish my shift, April
said, "You surprised me."
"How?" I asked.
"By how much you looked like a girl."
"That was all thanks to Faith."
"Yeah. But, you had fun with it. Didn't you?"
"I did?"
"Yes you did. You had fun posing for those pictures."
"I guess I did."
Later that afternoon as I walked into the house, my mother saw me and
asked, "How was it?"
"How was what?" I asked.
"How was your... your becoming Jessica Rabbit?"
"No big thing."
"So, it went well."
"Yeah. It was all right."
"I see they did something to your eyebrows."
"Yeah. They couldn't make them look right any other way, so she wanted
to shape them. We may do more."
"Oh."
"Something wrong?"
"No. It's just different seeing you with your eyebrows this way."
"I also brought the shoes home, so that I can practice walking in them."
"Can I see them?"
"Sure."
I took the shoes out of the bag I was carrying. My mom smiled and shook
her head.
"What's wrong mom?" I asked.
"Nothing. We use to call those nose bleed shoes because the heels are
so high."
"Really. They also want me to get a manicure and pedicure."
"A manicure and pedicure?"
"Yeah. Something about helping my hands look nice and these being open
toed shoes."
"You probably should."
"You think so?"
"It couldn't hurt your hands and if you're going to wear those shoes,
you probably should."
"Okay. ... Where do I get that done."
"You could go to where I go."
"Ah. I don't know."
"It's a small shop. Only two operators."
"I'll think about it. Oh. Patti and I are going out to get a bite and
see a movie, so I won't be home for supper."
"I figured you were doing that. When can I see Jessica Rabbit?"
"I guess come into the store when I'm working. Once we start dressing
for work, I'll be her until Halloween."
"We do have to get our costumes reserved soon."
That night Patti and I stopped at one of the local hang outs for dinner.
While we were eating, I filled her in on what went on at the shop. She
had a little smile on her face the whole time and when I was done, she
said, "This I've got to see."
I didn't tell her about the hair removal. She'd find out about that
soon enough.
After Patti and I finished eating, instead of going to a movie, we
headed back to her parent's house. You see we're very sexually active
and anytime we can spend making love, we did. Knowing her parents were
going to be out for the evening, we knew we had a long time to be alone
in her bed.
Afterwards, as we cuddled together, Patti said, "I love how you feel."
"You love how I feel?"
"Yeah. No more yucky body hair."
"Yucky body hair. You like this?"
"Uh huh. You're so soft and smooth. It feels good."
"Okay."
"Going to keep it that way after Halloween?"
"I hadn't planned on it."
"For me?"
"We'll talk about it."
She smiled her cute, sexy, smile, and kissed me.
I laid next to her thinking, 'Now my girlfriend likes my hairless body.
What next?'
On Sunday I wasn't working, so I spent the day doing two things.
Catching up on my studying and practicing in the heels. Luckily my room
is carpeted, so no one could hear the clicking noise the heels would
have made on a wood floor. And, once everyone, but my mom, had gone
their various ways, I walked around the house in them, including
carefully doing stairs.
My mom saw me a few times and really didn't say much, until I asked,
"Did you ever wear any shoes like this?"
"Yes. Back when your dad and I were dating."
"And, you got used to them?"
"Kind of. But, I was always happy to get them off."
Then at dinner, as we were eating dessert, my dad said, "Russell.
What's with your eyebrows?"
"My eyebrows!? Nothing. Why?" I asked.
"Yes there is. They look like your sisters."
"Oh that." Oh shit. Here it comes.
"Yes that. Well?"
"It's for my costume at work."
"A costume? What kind of costume?"
"A girl's costume."
"Your going to be dressing like a girl at work!"
"Yeah. It's something that all the employees do for Halloween."
"What, dressing like girls?"
"No. Wearing costumes."
"What kind of a costume are you wearing?"
"Just some girls."
"No character of some kind?"
"Kind of."
"Kind of what?"
I didn't want to say this in front of my whole family. But, I said very
softly, "Jessica Rabbit."
My younger brother, Jeff, almost chocked on his dessert as he spit out,
"Jessica Rabbit. No way!"
My sister, Sara, Jeff's twin, got a big smile, and my older brother,
Bill, just looked at me.
My dad looked at me over the top of his glasses and said, "Jessica
Rabbit. The toon character?"
"Yeah," I replied.
"Whose idea was this?"
"Everyone at the costume shop."
"You couldn't have done a guys costume of some kind."
"Dad. It's only a costume and you did that pirate wench a couple of
years ago."
"Yeah dad," Sara said, "And, you looked halfway good too."
"Okay. Okay," my dad said, "It's only a costume and only for a short
time. Besides, he's the one that's going to have to take the ribbing at
school."
Now the family knew. But, they haven't seen me yet.
The rest of the week was normal or almost normal. The ribbing that I
got at school over my eyebrows wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
My friends really let me have it, even after I told them about doing it
for a Halloween costume at work. Most everyone else either didn't
notice or didn't care.
I also spent as much time as I could walking in the heels. Also, at work
when we had time, Faith taught me how to do my makeup. And, against my
better judgement I let her work on my eyebrows. On Tuesday, I noticed
that my body hair was starting to grow back in, so my mother helped me
remove it again.
On Wednesday, after school, I'd gotten up the nerve to get my nails
done. So, I stopped by the shop where my mother has her nails done.
The two women that work there thought nothing of doing my nails. Having
this done actually felt good, and a short time later I walked out of the
shop with a manicure and a pedicure. And, my toe nails were actually a
bright red.
It was four weeks until Halloween, so Gloria decided that this Friday
was the day that we'd start wearing our costumes.
After school on Friday, Faith helped me turned myself into Jessica.
When she used the tape to give my eyebrows more of an arch, she really
arched them. I did most of my own makeup under her strict eye, and she
only had to correct a few things. She was still attaching the forms and
doing the makeup so my skin coloring matched the forms. But, she was
also teaching me how to properly do it.
Faith then showed me how to apply nail polish. It wasn't as hard as I
thought would be, and it wasn't long until I had ten bright red finger
nails to match my toe nails.
I'd almost gotten used to walking in the heels, so they were no longer a
problem. And, as I walked out onto the sales floor, I saw the large
picture of me on the picture board and I still couldn't believe it was
me. April grabbed me and said, "Faith said that I'm to work with you on
being a girl."
"Being a girl?" I asked.
"You know. Walking, talking, and stuff like that."
"I'll try."
"You'll do fine."
We were a little busy early in the evening and I was working the front
cash register. The looks I got when people walked into the store were
very interesting. Some of the guys were really funny. They couldn't
keep their eyes off of me, and I just smiled. I even got hit on once,
and I thought the guy was going to really loose it when im my male voice
I said, "Only if you like guys that dress like girls. But, anyway I
only like girls."
"You... you're a guy!", he blurted out.
"One-hundred percent."
As he walked further into the store, he just kept looking back at me and
almost walked into a display rack.
Then there were the unbelieving reactions of the customers when they
first heard me talk and figured out that I was a guy. Some just
couldn't believe it, some wanted to know how we did it, others just
shook their heads.
April was always around correcting things that I did that weren't
feminine. How to walk. How to stand. How to move. How to talk, even
though I had a guys voice.
Matt was having a lot of fun being Roger Rabbit. He was a little crazy
to start with, not to mention being gay. He had Roger's voice and
mannerisms down really good. And, would interact with me the way Roger
did with Jessica. Gloria made a very believable Judge Doom, also from
the movie Roger Rabbit, and every once in a while she would give
Matt/Roger Rabbit a really hard time. Faith was the Wicked Witch of the
West from the Wizard of Oz, not a cartoon character, but she looked
great. Green face, crooked nose, and all.
About an hour before closing I heard someone behind me say, "Hi sexy."
I knew that voice. I turned around and I was right. It was Patti. The
look on her face when she saw my face was amazing. Her eyes got really
big, and her hands went to her mouth. She took two steps backwards
running into Faith.
Patti and I just looked at each other. I didn't know what she was
thinking or if she was going to run away.
Finally I saw a twinkle in her eyes and a smile start to appear on her
lips. Her smile made me smile.
"I... I... I don't believe this," Patti said.
"I know I'm an ugly girl," I said.
"No way. You're pretty. Very pretty."
"If you're seeing a pretty girl, it's not me."
"Well I'm seeing a pretty girl, but the voice belongs to Russ."
Faith took Patti by the shoulders, and staying in character said in a
witch's voice, "Well, my little pretty, he does make a beautiful girl.
Doesn't he?"
"Yes he does," Patti said, "I figured that I'd be seeing a guy in a
dress. But, I see a girl."
Faith said, "Jessica. Why don't you go ahead and get changed?"
"It's early," I replied.
"We've slowed down and your friend is here."
"All right. Come on Patti."
I turned and started toward the back to the store, but I didn't hear
anyone following me. I stopped, turned around, and saw Faith and Patti
looking at me, smiling, and whispering. I looked at them for a minute,
then said, "Patti. You coming?"
After we were back to the dressing area, I asked Patti, "What was all
that whispering about?"
"Oh nothing," Patti replied.
"No. It was something. What?"
"Oh. Just how cute a wiggle you have when you walk."
"I don't."
"Oh yes you do. It's very sexy and you look so cute."
"Cute. So, you like me this way?"
"Ah... Kind of."
"Kind of! You starting to like girls?"
"No. But, you dressing up like this is so cool. I just love it."
Just then Faith walked in to help me change, so our conversation came to
an end. For now.
Patti watched with interest as Faith removed everything that made me
Jessica Rabbit and explained what she was doing. She also told Patti
that she was trying to teach me how to do my own makeup and that I was
starting to get good at it.
Patti asked, "How long does it take to put all that on?"
"Not that long," Faith replied, "And, it'll take less and less time the
more we do it. You find this interesting?"
"Yeah."
"Want to learn?"
"Could I?"
"Sure. Then you could help him. In fact we could use another part-time
clerk"
"Really!?"
"Yes. As long as Russ doesn't mind."
I looked at Patti and figured it might be fun having her help me. So, I
said, "I don't mind at all."
"Good," Faith said, "Patti run out and talk to Gloria, and tell her that
I sent you."
Patti got up and almost did run to the store area.
After Patti was gone, Faith said, "She really likes the Jessica Rabbit
costume on you."
"I could tell," I said, "So, what was all the whispering about?"
"She just thought your wiggle was really cute and sexy."
"There was more to that conversation then that?"
"Well. I think she really likes you in the costume."
"She likes me like this?"
"I think so."
"Oh."
On the way out of the shop I grabbed my picture off the board and told
Gloria that I was taking it to show my parents. We stopped at our
favorite hang out for something to eat and drink. While we were sitting
there, Patti asked, "You really don't mind if I work at the costume shop
with you?"
"No," I replied, "I think it'll be fun. You know you'll need a costume.
Any ideas?"
"Not really. I'll see what I can find tomorrow."
"I hear that you like me in my costume."
"Yeah. It's cool."
"Cool?"
"Yeah. You really surprised me when I saw you. You look really good."
"Too good?"
"What do you mean?"
"You like me as a girl?"
"Ah. ... Yeah.... No. ... Ah, kind of."
"Kind of?"
"Uh huh. I think it's cool that you look that good as a girl."
"Just cool?"
"What do you mean?"
"I heard that you really like it."
Patti looked down at the table and I could barely hear her reply. Which
was, "I... I think it's hot."
"Patti, look at me."
She looked at me, and I asked, "Hot?"
"Yeah... I... I got turned on."
"You got turned on by a girl?"
"No. I got turned on by you as a girl."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I don't know why. I just did."
"You want me to become a girl."
"No!"
"You want to be with a girl?"
"No! You know that I love you and only you."
"Me as a girl?"
"I don't know. It confused me. But, all I know is that when I saw you
at the shop, I wanted you right then and there."
"As Jessica?"
Looking me directly in the eyes, she just nodded yes.
I knew our talk was bothering her. It was also bothering me a little.
She liked it when I looked like a girl. Why? I wanted to know. But, I
decided that we'd said enough tonight.
We headed off to one of our favorite places, a secluded place where we
could enjoy each other. Her sex drive was higher than usual, and I'm
not complaining.
After I dropped her off at home, I headed home. As I walked in the back
door and into the kitchen, my mother was there. She grinned at me, and
said, "Hi Jessica."
"Mom!", I said.
"Sorry. I couldn't resist. I got a call from Janet Graves. She told me
that they were at the costume shop today and they have a guy dressed up
as Jessica Rabbit, and that they couldn't believe how good he looked."
"You didn't tell her it was me. Did you?"
"No honey. I didn't."
As I handed her the picture, I said, "Good. Here's her picture."
She looked at the picture, then at me, and said, "This is you?"
"Yeah."
"Russell. This is unbelievable!"
"I know. You should have seen Patti tonight when she came in."
"Is she all right with this?"
"Yeah. In fact she's going to be working there part-time too."
"That'll be nice."
Saturday was going to be a busy day at the shop and I picked Patti up at
nine. On the way, Patti asked, "Are you sure you don't mind me working
with you?"
"No," I replied, "Why would I."
"After what we talked about last night."
"You mean about you liking me dressed as a girl?"
"Yeah."
"Don't worry about it. When I stop, you probably won't feel that way
any more."
"You think?"
"Yeah. I do." Or, did I?
When we arrived at the shop, I went to work getting ready to be Jessica.
Patti watched closely as Faith helped me with the forms. Faith told her
that it was about the only thing she had to help me with and that she
could teach her to do it. Faith then kept an eye on me, and Patti
watched with great interest, as I did my makeup.
After I was Jessica and we were out on the sales floor, I helped Patti
find a costume. The other day she had thought about being a fairy
princess, but she spotted something and walked right over to it. We had
it on a mannequin, and it was down right sexy. It was Betty Boop. The
costume was a strapless, sequined mini-dress, that hit Patti about mid-
thigh. A short black curly wig with a Betty Boop cut. A white garter
with a red heart on it. A pair of red shoes with a three inch heel.
And, a dog pocket book.
There were already a lot of customers in the shop and everyone was
scheduled to work until closing. April, as she had done with me, took
Patti under her wing and showed her what she needed to do in the shop.
When Patti and I were finally able to take a lunch break together, I
said, "That costume is so cute on you."
"I know," she replied, "I wonder if I can borrow it for the party?"
"Party. What party?"
"Your mom and dad's silly."
"I completely forgot about it."
With a grin, she said, "Are you sure you're not a blond under there?"
"I guess I'll have to find a costume."
"What's wrong with what you're wearing?"
"Ah. I don't know if I want to wear this any place but here."
"Why?"
"I don't know if I want our friends seeing me like this."
"They probably will."
"Huh?"
"Where do most people we know get their costumes?"
"Oh yeah. Here. They get them here."
"You're a blond."
Toward the end of the day Gloria found Patti and me, and asked, "Can you
two hang around for a little while after closing?"
"I guess. What's up?" I replied.
"I've got a reporter and a photographer from the local paper coming in
to do an article for the Entertainment Section of the following Sunday's
paper."
"You want us to be in it?" Patti said.
"Sure. I want everyone, in costume, to be in it. It'll make for some
great publicity. They should be here just before closing."
And, like Gloria said, just before closing the reporter, a woman, and
photographer, a man, walked into the store. I was at the front cash
register, so they stopped and asked for Gloria. I said, "She was just
here. Wait a minute and I'll find her."
As I walked away, I saw the photographer and the reporter look at each
other, and then at me. I found Gloria and we walked back to the front
of the store together. As we walked up to them, the reporter looked at
me and asked, "Are you're a guy?"
I smiled and replied, "Yeah."
"And, you can look this good as a girl and walk in heels that I'd never
consider wearing."
"I guess."
"How?"
I saw the grin on Gloria's face, and I said, "Why not let Gloria tell
you?"
"No Jessica," Gloria said, "You tell them. You're the one doing it."
"Well," I said, "It's nothing but a costume, makeup, and having fun...."
And, I went on to tell them the story of how we had chosen my costume,
how I prepared for it, and so on.
The reporter was very interested and asked a bunch of questions, while
the photographer took a bunch of pictures. After the store closed, they
talked with all the staff, took more pictures, and didn't leave until
late.
We didn't get out of the store until very late, and both Patti and I
were very tired. I just took her straight home. Later as I walked into
my house, I found my parents sitting in the kitchen. I said, "Hi mom.
Hi pop."
"You look tired Russ," my mother said.
"It was a busy day."
"Russ," my dad said, pushing the picture of me as Jessica toward me, "Is
this really you?"
"Yes sir."
"You don't mind dressing this way?"
"No sir. It's only a costume. And, it's fun."
"But... but, you look like a girl. You're as pretty as your sister."
"I know. It takes a lot of work, but it's fun."
"Are you sure that's all it is?"
"What do you mean?"
"You're not gay or something?"
"Dad! I'm not gay. What's the 'or something?'"
"You don't want to be a girl. Do you?"
"Dad! No. Besides, you dressed as a girl once."
"I know and it was only for the party. Not a month."
"Dad. It's for the job. It took a lot of persuasion to get me to do
it. Besides, I love the reactions when people figure out that I'm a
guy."
"So, most people have fun with this?"
"Sure. They all do. Some even want their picture taken with me and the
guy dressed as Roger Rabbit. The only exceptions are the guys that hit
on me."
"You've been hit on?"
"Yeah. A few times, and when I tell them that I'm a guy, some of them
look like a deer caught in headlights. You should hear some of the
pickup lines, they're really lame."
"So, this is only a thing for Halloween?"
"Sure. What else would it be?"
"I guess nothing. You just took to it so easily. I was worried that
you might be gay, or want to be a girl, or something."
"Dad. It's nothing but some fun with a costume. And, I didn't take to
it that easily. It took a lot of persuasion. Sure I let them change my
eyebrows. They'll grow back. Sure I can walk in heels. They're only
shoes. When Halloween's over I'll be back to being good old boring
Russ."
"Are you going to wear this to the party?"
"I don't think so. Everyone's going to see it by then. Maybe I'll be
someone else," then with a grin I added, "Like a stripper or a call
girl."
"Russell!", my mother said.
With a wink, I said, "Don't worry mom. I won't be too bad."
The following week was a normal, school and work at the costume shop,
except for another round of hair removal. I think, knowing what I know
now, I should have tried the waxing. So, I'm going to skip ahead to the
following Saturday.
This Saturday, Patti and I didn't have to work and were going into the
shop at two on Sunday afternoon and work till nine. So, Saturday night
was a date night, and another one of our sexual encounters. Afterwards
as we were laying next to each other, Patti got up on one elbow, looked
at me, and said, "You thought any more about keeping your body hair off
after Halloween?"
"You'd really love that wouldn't you?"
"I already do."
"I'm already getting tired of having mom help me keep my body hair free.
I wish I'd have tried the waxing."
"Really!" And, she got a twinkle in her eyes.
"Yes."
"I know someone that'll do it for you."
"I figured you would. Who?"
"Where I have mine done."
"How do you know they'll do it?"
"I've... I've talked with my girl about it."
"You what!?"
"Well. Girls talk. And, I was having my legs waxed the other day and
we got talking. One thing led to another, and I told her how much I
love your smooth body. I told her the whole story of you and Jessica."
"You didn't?"
"Yeah. I did. She told me that there's a lot of guys that get waxed
and that she could do yours once it grew in a little."
"I don't know about you."
She bent down and kissed me, sat back up, and said, "I do know that I
love you."
"I love you too. But, this whole thing with body hair."
"It's more than that."
"Huh?"
"I really do love seeing you in a dress."
"You're kidding?"
"No. It's sexy."
"Sexy?"
"Uh huh. You look so good as a girl, but I know that it's really you.
It really turns me on."
I sat up, pushed her down on the bed, looked down at her, and said,
"Jessica turns you on?"
"Uh huh."
"Why?"
"I don't know. I've never done it with a girl or even wanted to. But,
seeing you as Jessica is hot."
"You want to do it with Jessica?"
"I... I don't know." And, she started crying.
"Patti. ... Honey. ... Don't cry." And, I held her.
Between sniffles, Patti said, "I've been confused since I first saw
Jessica. And, watching you change into her doesn't help, it's a real
turn on. If Faith wasn't around, I'd be all over you."
We didn't say anymore. I just held her.
Sunday I didn't have to be at work until early afternoon, so I was going
to sleep in, but my cell phone ringing woke me up. I knew it was Patti,
so I said, "Hi love."
"Hi," she said, "Have you seen today's paper?"
"No. You just woke me up. Why?"
"The article that the reporter did about the costume shop is in it, and
you're the main subject."
"What!?"
"Yeah. You'd better take a look."
"Shit! I forgot all about that. I'll call you back."
I threw on my robe and headed downstairs. I knew my parents were up,
and that they were probably in the den having coffee and reading the
paper. I walked into the den, my dad looked at me over the top of his
glasses, picked up a section of the paper, offered it to me, and said,
"I think this is what you're looking for."
I took the paper and on the front page of the Entertainment Section was
a headline that said, "Local Costume Shop Goes All Out for Halloween."
And, right in the middle of the page was a big picture of me as Jessica
Rabbit in a sexy pose with a caption that read, "Local high school
student, Russell Madison, becomes Jessica Rabbit for Halloween."
I sat down hard in a chair, and my dad asked, "Something wrong?"
"Yeah," I replied, "I'm dead. A few people knew about this, but now the
whole city does."
"Read the article."
I started reading the article, and the more I read the better I felt.
The reporter had done a good job explaining how it was all done in fun
for the holiday.
"That's a nice article," my mom said.
"Yeah," I replied, "But, I'm going to get a raft of shit at school
tomorrow."
"I told you that you would," my dad said.
"I know. And, I'll handle it some how."
"I hope."
I went back up to my room and called Patti back.
"That wasn't too bad," I said.
"No. The reporter did a nice job," she replied.
"But, a picture on the front page of that section of me as Jessica
Rabbit with my name under it."
"I know. Jenny thought it was a sexy picture." Jenny was one of
Patti's best friends.
"Jenny didn't freak out? She's so straight laced."
"No. She called me right after I called you and we talked about it."
"And?"
"She thought you looked great and that it was cool."
"I hope everyone else is cool with it."
"I think they will be. She told me that there were a few rumors going
around about you and the costume shop."
"I never heard them. Any idea what they were about?"
"I guess the biggest one was that one of the seniors was working at the
costume shop and was dressing like a girl. And, that a lot of kids
thought it was you."
"Well now they'll know."
After lunch I picked Patti up to go to the shop, and as she got in the
car, she said, "I just got off the phone with Beth Ann."
Beth Ann was the leader of a click of girls at school that included a
few of the cheerleaders, some of the rich girls, and others that think
their shit doesn't stink. And, she usually didn't talk to Patti unless
she wanted something.
"Beth Ann Phillips?" I a
