This story is dedicated to my mother Chrystine. One of the first people
who I came out too, someone who helped me find my femme name and helped
me find my style. She sadly passed away 20 years ago. It was my mother
who encouraged me to write. I hope that she would be pleased with the
pieces I now produce.
Mum I Have Something to Tell You. By Maria Ski
I would like to, if I may, tell you a story, the story of how a young
man went on a journey of discovery and found his true self.
1. So our story begins on a Friday...
Hello dear reader my name is Michael I'm 17 and I was dreading the
upcoming Fancy Dress Dance at the local country club which was only
four weeks away. Not because of the dancing, not because of the fact it
was fancy dress but because of the theme. For some strange reason both
the club's president and secretary had requested that everyone dress as
characters from Disney movies. Now I am, admittedly, not a fan of
Disney movies. But my older sisters were over the moon and excitedly
discussed which Disney Princesses they were going to dress up as and
made their plans accordingly. And unfortunately for me those plans were
bound to include me in some way.
And so it was at dinner that night the subject of costumes for the
party came up. My eldest sister, Tanya who is 20, looked at me and
said, "Ok Mike." She paused. "Who are you going to dress up as for the
country club's party?" she asked. "Now remember it has to be a Disney
character."
I paused in thought. "Well I have a couple that I might dress up as," I
looked at my sisters. "Prince Charming or Han Solo," I added with a
smile.
"Han Solo?" Tanya queried. "He isn't a Disney character. He's from
'Star Wars'." She looked daggers at me. "You'll have to pick another."
Eos, my other sister who is 18, smiled when she said, "Actually, Han
Solo is a Disney character. Disney bought Lucasfilm if you remember.
And Mike said that it would mean Leia would become a Disney Princess by
default."
Tanya looked at our mother. "He can't go as Han Solo," she pouted. "He
can't...!"
Our mother looked at me. "Han may be technically a Disney character
Michael. But to keep the peace you'll have to pick another person." She
gave me the don't you even think about it look. So I kept quiet about
Luke Skywalker.
We continued to talk about the party as we ate. My two siblings still
undecided about which of the many Disney princesses they should go as.
I sat back in thought. "It's a shame you aren't twins." I paused.
"Because if you were you could go as the twins from 'The Parent Trap'.
But can I suggest something?"
Tanya and Eos looked at me. Tanya piped up asking, "You want to suggest
who we go as?"
I nodded. "It looks like you need a fresh pair of eyes Sis. I may not
be an expert. But..."
"You're right about not being an expert," Tanya interrupted. "You don't
even like Disney movies." She paused. "And any suggestions you have
will be rubbish."
Eos's eyes said sorry, but our mother came to the rescue. "Ok Michael
lets hear your suggestions."
I took a breath. "Why don't you go as Elsa and Anna from 'Frozen'?" I
smiled. "Tanya you have the figure and blonde hair of Elsa and Eos has
the Red hair to be Anna," I looked at my sisters. "Besides," I
shrugged. "I know you both love the movie."
Eos smiled. "He's right you know." She looked at Tanya. "Tanya you'll
look fantastic as Elsa. Your hair's the right length. I'll go as Anna,"
she chuckled slightly. "But we still have to think of someone for
Michael to go as."
Tanya, much as I love her, can be a little vindictive at times. She
looked at me before she said, "May I make a suggestion for Mike's
costume?"
"Of course you can Tanya," Mum answered. "So what do you suggest he
wears?"
"We dress him up like Belle from Beauty and the Beast..." she replied
with a chuckle. "Let him walk a mile in our shoes so to speak."
I nearly choked on my chicken. "Dress me up as a girl." I looked at my
sister. "You've got to be joking...!" I exclaimed.
"No joke brother of mine." She eyed me up and down. "No joke. And you
know the reason why."
Eos looked at me and shook her head. I began to wonder if Tanya had
guessed our secret. We knew Mum suspected but...
I was working on an essay when Tanya burst into my room carrying Eos's
Laptop. I turned to face her. "Hey don't you believe in knocking. I
don't just burst into your room."
"Shut up squirt," Tanya said venomously. "You're going to go to the
party as Belle."
"I'm going to the party as a Disney character," I replied. "But it
won't be as Belle!"
"Oh you're going as Belle brother of mine. You're going to go as Belle
or the whole school will find out about your little dress up games with
Eos," she said waving the laptop in front of me. "I've seen the
photographs."
I looked at her with a straight face. "What dress up games? What
photographs?" I said. "I don't know what you're talking about," I lied.
Of course I knew what she was talking about. And was well aware of the
photographs, there were a lot of photographs.
For despite my protestations about dressing as Belle for the party, I
was actually looking forward to the challenge it presented. Because if
I'm being truthful, and I think I should, I would occasionally have
some 'Girl Time' with Eos. I would dress up as a girl, using a
selection of her hand me downs and clothes I had purchased myself, and
be Eos's sister for a few hours. And thanks to Eos's influence I was
able to pass as a girl out in public. So much so I had been accepted as
Michelle, my femme-self, by Eos's circle of girlfriends as a member of
their clique. I am sure they knew who I actually was. And as I have
already mentioned we suspected that our mother knew. But we were
careful not to let Tanya find out, unfortunately for me it appeared
that now she had.
"Oh don't you try to act all sweet and innocent with me you little
sissy faggot." She grinned a feral grin. "I have enough on you to make
your life hell on earth," she opened the laptop. "All the evidence is
on here. And I'm sure Mum will find some of the pictures interesting."
She was interrupted by a tap on my door. It was Eos.
"Mike, Are you in there?" she asked. "I can't find my laptop. Have you
seen it?"
"Come in Eos," I answered. "I know where you're laptop is."
Eos came into my room and when she saw that Tanya had her laptop.
"Tanya, hand my laptop back." She smiled. "There's nothing on there
that will interest you."
"I wouldn't be so sure," Tanya said with an evil smile. "There are some
very, very interesting photographs on here," she looked at Eos.
"Photographs that someone might not want to be seen," Tanya paused. "By
someone, like mum perhaps."
"It won't work Tanya," Eos said as she retrieved her laptop. "I'm not
going to be blackmailed by you." Eos smiled.
"Not be blackmailed?" Tanya responded. "The fact you've bullied our
sissy of a brother into dressing as a girl, have him pretend to be your
sister and the take photo's so he..."
"Oh shut up Tanya," I snapped. "You don't know what you are talking
about." I paused. "Eos hasn't bullied me into dressing as a girl. In
fact...," I looked at Eos who smiled at me. "In fact it was my idea."
Eos stood beside me. "I thought about asking you but you have a closed
mind. So I asked Eos and she was more than willing to help." I had told
Tanya the truth. The ball was now in her court. In fact Tanya was livid
almost ready to burst. "How long..?" Tanya asked. "So how long has your
little 'game' been going on?" she eyed me suspiciously as if I was
lying.
But it was Eos who spoke up. "It doesn't matter how long our 'little
game' has been going on. I'm proud of the fact that our kid brother can
trust me with a secret like his.
He's been into my clothes ever since the Halloween we dressed him up as
Alice," she chuckled. "He tried to cover his tracks but I knew." She
smiled at me again. "I knew I had a younger sister. So of course I'd
help her find herself, find her style," Eos took a breath. "You could
learn a thing or two from her," she winked at me. "Michelle is good to
be around and have around. We'll have to introduce her to you someday,"
Eos remained calm. "Of course she'll have to want to meet you."
I fought back a laugh which didn't go unnoticed by Tanya who glared at
me.
Tanya looked at us both. "I... I..." she paused. "I'll leave you two
freaks to your games. But I can assure you of one thing. Michael will
be dressed as Belle for the Fancy Dress Dance," she chuckled. "And then
the secret will be out that my sissy brother likes being a girl."
Eos smiled at me. "You've got some guts little brother. I'll grant you
that. But she's determined to see you dressed as Belle." I had sat down
so she mussed my hair. "I'm going to come clean to Mum. I'll show her
the photos. A pre-emptive strike so to speak. It will steal Tanya's
thunder." She winked at me and left to see mum.
I admit that at 17 I was a little frail for my age, but my frailty
helped with my passing as a female. Could it help me pass as Belle? My
sisters seemed to thin so.
I was reading in bed when there was a tap on my door. And my mother
stuck her head around the door. She was smiling. "Eos has just had a
long chat with me." She came closer to my bed. "And I need to have a
little chat with you," I saw she had Eos's Laptop in her hand. "And
talk to you about some photographs that have been bought to my
attention. So please be truthful with me Michael."
"Ok Mum," I answered. "If you've seen the photos I think you've seen. I
won't lie to you."
She sat down next to me and opened up the Laptop. I noticed that Eos
had left the folder of my femme pictures open. And smiled slightly,
which didn't go unnoticed, because I sensed that Mum wasn't angry with
me.
"So do I call you Michael or Michelle?" Mum asked with a sly smile.
"Because I can not believe the girl in these photo's with Eos is you."
"I only use Michelle when I'm dressed as a girl mum," I responded. "And
yes the girl in the pictures is me." I shrugged. "And in answer to your
next question," I looked at Mum. "I've been dressing as a girl
occasionally ever since I was Alice that Halloween."
Mum laughed as she remembered me being dragooned into the blonde wig,
blue dress, white pinafore and the layers of petticoats and Mary Jane
shoes.
"I'm sorry to say it Michael or should that be Michelle," she said with
a smile. "But you made a very cute girl even then." She paused. "It's a
shame that your father didn't see it the same way," she hugged me as I
winced at the memory. "But that is in the past." She smiled as she
pulled away. "But I think I can understand why you continued," she
looked a little concerned as she called up a picture. "But in these
pictures I looked for a trace of my son and saw none. Care to explain?"
"Ok Mum I'll do my best to explain," I smiled. "Eos and I decided that
if I was going to dress as a girl. I was going to do it properly and be
able to pass as a girl of my age."
I paused. "She's great Mum, Eos I mean. She was so very understanding
in my mind. She taught me all I know about who to behave like a girl.
She made sure I knew how to apply my makeup. I think it made us closer
as brother and sister."
We then looked at the pictures. In the first, Eos and I were wearing
matching black evening dresses. Each one had a V shaped neckline and we
were both showing a little cleavage the heels we wore made our legs
look delightfully feminine and elegant. Encased as they were in sheer
black stockings. My wig matched Eos's red hair.
The second showed me and Eos's friend Claire in Checked Shirts and
Booty shorts wearing heeled cowboy boots, I was wearing a blonde wig
and it was tied in pigtails on either side of my head. A little bit
like Daisy Duke.
The third was a more formal shot, I was wearing a raven black wig, with
a high pony tail and I had curled tendrils of hair hanging down either
side of my face. My makeup was subtle and I was wearing a business suit
with a black roll necked jumper. Along with black high heeled boots and
a handbag.
We went through the whole folder. In most of the pictures I was dressed
like a normal teenage girl of my age. Mum passed a few comments all of
them positive.
She said she loved the formal business suit shot. She put the laptop to
one side and hugged me. I returned the hug with tears forming in my
eyes.
"Now Michelle," she said using my femme name. "I am going to be honest
with you. I did suspect that you and Eos were up to something.
Admittedly I was way off in what I thought. But I am going to allow you
to continue dressing. If I don't let you you'll only continue to do it
in secret. But there is to be no more hiding, no more secrets." She
smiled warmly. "If I'm going to have a third daughter I want to see
her."
"But what..." I started to say.
"I'll handle Tanya," Mum answered. "She is a little naive and a bit
like your father in some respects. But as I said you leave Tanya to
me," she chuckled. "As tomorrow is Saturday I'll let you decide who we
see in the morning. Michelle is more than welcome to join us for
breakfast."
I watched my mother leave. My mind was spinning and I was amazed at
what she had said, 'I'll let you decide who I see in the morning', I
was still getting over the shock when there was another tap on my door.
Eos came in to collect her laptop. But she was carrying something in
her arms. She smiled as she came closer and threw something onto my
bed.
"Hey Mikki." She smiled using her nickname for me. "What did Mum say?"
she enquired. "I hope it wasn't bad?" she closed the folder on her
laptop and switched it off. "I know she loved the photos."
"Actually Sis." I paused as my voice became softer. "She has said that
I can continue to be Michelle." I watched her smile broaden. "As long
as I do it in the open. And as long as I don't hide. She's even said
Michelle is welcome at breakfast."
Eos sat on my bed. "I think she likes the idea of an all female
household," she chuckled. "So aren't you going to see what your present
is?" she asked pointing to what she had thrown on my bed.
I reached over and took a look. It was a long black chemise style
nightdress with gel insert breasts. I looked at Eos in wonder. Her eyes
twinkled mischievously and I took the hint. So I changed from my boxers
and T shirt and put it on. Eos handed me a pair of panties which I also
put on. The material felt comfortably soft and sensual against my
hairless body.
Eos smiled at me as I checked the fit of the nightdress. I caught sight
of her in the mirror and smiled back. Climbing back into bed I tapped
the space beside me. Eos climbed in next to me. We talked as we used to
when we were younger. We talked about our femme time. And we decided
that Michelle would be the one who went down to breakfast in the
morning. As we lay next to each other I wondered what Tanya's reaction
would be. Eos giggled as it appeared we were thinking about the same
thing. Eos did ask me a couple of questions. "Mikki," she chewed her
lip. "Do you want to be a girl? Do you really want to be my sister?"
I turned to face her. "To be honest Eos I don't really know. I feel
great when I'm Michelle. I enjoy the experiences, I feel comfortable,
but there is..." I yawned. "There is the fact that Dad..."
Eos hugged me. I needed no words. Our Father had left us and Mum for a
female colleague of his. And he wasn't a fan of those with an
alternative lifestyle. This meant he wouldn't approve of my cross-
dressing.
2. Saturday:
Tanya was in the middle of making a pot of tea when Eos and I entered
the kitchen for breakfast. And she nearly dropped the tea pot when she
saw us.
"You crazy pair of freaks!" she exclaimed. "Mum will go crazy when she
sees you," she looked at me. "Michael for goodness sake go and get
dressed properly. You look..."
"I look like a girl?" I answered in my soft melodic, and well
practiced, feminine voice. I smiled at Tanya. "Of course I look like a
girl." I was wearing a pair of skinny jeans, a pastel pink v-necked t-
shirt which revealed just a hint of cleavage, which had been created by
placing my breast forms into a Push up Bra, my red haired shoulder
length wig, a pair of clip on ear rings, a Birthstone necklace, I also
wore a pair of black knee high boots with a three inch block heel which
thanks to Eos's tutelage I walked in as though I was born wearing them.
And my makeup was ever so subtle.
Tanya took a breath. "You look...." She paused to pour a mug of tea for
Eos and myself. "You look..." She shook he head in disbelief.
"Beautiful?" Eos interjected. "Michelle does look amazing. Even if I do
say so myself," she sipped her tea. "And she did her own make up."
"Good Morning everyone," our mother said as she came into the kitchen.
"Michelle, it's so nice to see you finally join us for breakfast," she
looked at me. "Stand up and give me a twirl young lady."
I did as I was bid and stood up and turned around slowly so Mum could
see my overall look. She nodded her approval and smiled.
Tanya looked at Mum. "How can you smile at him Mum? He looks like a
freak," she spat out. "He's a boy. He should look like a boy," she
looked at me. "When Dad see's him dressed like that he'll freak," she
turned to face Mum. "You shouldn't allow him to dress like that...!
He's an embarrassment..."
"Have you finished Tanya?" Mum asked. "Your father gave up all rights
to how I bring you up after he left us. Oh I know he'll freak. And I
know Michelle will handle it." She smiled. "Because if Michelle wants
to dress like a girl and be true to herself." She looked at Eos and
myself. "Who am I to stop her." She smiled. "Besides she's gone to all
the trouble to make herself beautiful." She turned back to Tanya. "But
hang on a second," Mum paused. "You're the one who wants him to dress
up as Belle for the fancy dress party. Or am I wrong on that count?"
Mum had actually caught Tanya out. Eos fought back a laugh, I hid a
smirk. Tanya on the other hand looked at our mother. "That's
different," she said with a defiant smile. "It's for a party," Tanya
looked at me. "But then I was thinking that Michael would look like a
man in a dress. Not like...." She paused. "Not like a pretty girl."
I wanted to go over and hug Tanya. I knew it was hard for her to say
what she had just said, but something stopped me. I sipped my tea and
thought about something to say. I was beaten to the punch so to speak
by Eos.
"So you're admitting that Michelle is a pretty girl?" she asked. "That
our younger brother makes a beautiful girl?" Eos reached over and
squeezed my hand affectionately. "And so what if he wants to be a girl
occasionally. I'll help him be the best girl he can be."
With breakfast over we were dispatched to do our usual Saturday chores.
And it was as I was depositing the rubbish bags into our wheelie bins I
heard a familiar voice call out. It was Ms. Johnson our neighbour and
she greeted me with a smile. And she was well aware of my secret.
Having caught Eos and myself coming home during one of my first forays
out whilst en-femme.
"Hello Michelle," she said, "it's nice to see you again. You're looking
very pretty today."
"Oh. Hi Ms. Johnson and thank you," I replied. "I've been a little
busy. What with school and all."
She laughed. "I know all about that my dear." She paused when she
spotted Mum's car. "You're taking a bit of a risk Michelle," she
pointed to the car. "Your mother's at home." She smiled at me.
"It's alright Ms. Johnson," I smiled. "I came out to Mum last night.
Eos showed her the photos." I brushed a stray hair off my face. "And in
her own way she asked to see the femme me at breakfast." I shrugged
slightly. "Although I have a feeling she knew about my activities en-
femme."
Ms Johnson came closer and placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sure she did. But I can assure you that she didn't hear anything
from me," her voice was a sultry contralto. "But I suspect something
forced you into telling her. Yes?"
I nodded. It was hard to lie to Ms. Johnson. She had been our neighbour
for as long as I could remember. Put she didn't push me on the matter.
She paused and asked,
"Who are you going to be dressed as for the Country Club's Party?"
It was my turn to pause. "I wanted to go as Prince Charming or Han
Solo," I chuckled. "But Tanya thinks that I should go as Belle from
Beauty and the Beast."
She hugged me. Ms. Johnson actually hugged me saying. "You should do
it. Seriously you should dress as Belle," she gave me a wide smile. "No
one will expect a boy to dress as a girl," she laughed. "But with all
the practice you've had. You'll have an advantage."
"But...!"
"No Buts Michelle," her voice had a serious tone. "Dressing as Belle is
your destiny," she turned to walk to her house. "Oh. Do make sometime
to come and see me. You and I need to have a serious talk."
I entered the kitchen with a puzzled look on my face, Ms. Johnson
needing to have a serious talk with me, dressing as Belle was my
destiny. I was a little confused.
Mum broke my train of thought. "I see Ms. Johnson already knows my
daughter," she hugged me. "I'm not going to ask how. But you and she
have something in common."
"We do?" I asked. "She did say I was to make sometime to go and see
her," I looked at my mother. "Ms Johnson also said that I should dress
as Belle for the dance at the country club. She said it was my
destiny."
Mum giggled. "She does have a sixth sense on these things," she broke
the hug. "So are you going to go as Belle?"
"I don't know Mum," I looked at her. "If I do go dressed as Belle I
don't want it to look like I've given in to Tanya's demand," I paused.
"I want to do it on my terms."
Mum then looked at me. She looked me up and down, had me give her
another twirl so she could look me over. She shook her head as she had
me walk around the kitchen in my heeled boots. I paused only to fill
the kettle to make a pot of tea.
"I have a lot of questions Michelle," Mum said, "A lot of questions.
And as I'm looking at you now all I see is a teenage girl. There are no
physical signs that you're a boy," she sat down. "You have to tell me
how you've done it. How you've become a very pretty and very convincing
girl"
"Ok Mum," I answered. "I tell you." I took a breath. "Well with my
voice it's down to a lot of practice and coaching from Eos. Like wise
with my makeup." I smiled as Mum digested what I was telling her. "My
breasts are breast forms I purchased online. The cleavage is thanks to
a Push Up bra and surgical tape," I remembered that I would have to be
careful when removing the tape. "Now, if I was wearing a skirt I would
be wearing a padded panty brief to give me some faux curves and a
dancer's gaff to tuck my boy bits. But as I am wearing skinny jeans I
am wearing a dancer's gaff which is holding and hiding my boy bits so I
look like a girl. I'm also wearing panties to hide the gaff," I looked
at Mum. "Eos and I researched everything online. Because Eos told me
that if I was going to dress as a girl. I was going to do it properly."
Mum approved of Eos's methodology, she also noted that some of my
female mannerisms matched my sister's. Actually I tried to emulate both
my sisters but Mum told me that I was doing fine. She also promised
that she would join Eos as a tutor for my sojourn in the feminine way.
But my mind was on the fact that I didn't have to hide my femme self
anymore. I promised myself I wouldn't push it too far.
Eos came in as I was talking with Mum and smiled. As I talked with Mum
I got the feeling that Eos had had a long talk with her when she showed
her the photos. In a way I was grateful. But there was a part of me
that wished Tanya would be supportive. She had been very close to our
father and shared some of his ideals.
"Sorry to interrupt," she said. "But I've just had a phone call from
Claire. She's asked if we could meet up with her this afternoon," she
winked at me. "I told her I would have to check with you Mum," she
stood behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "And to be honest I
think Michelle needs to spread her wings a bit more."
And then Mum chuckled. "I have to agree with you Eos." She smiled as
she continued. "Why don't we go and get Michelle her own wardrobe? We
get her some more clothes that are actually hers."
Eos smiled broadly. "If we meet up with Claire she can give her input
into what we get for Michelle," she stood behind me. "I know that she
and I have bought stuff before. But that was so we could share." She
paused in thought. "Mikki does deserve to be spoilt."
"Mikki?" Mum queried.
"Mikki is the nickname I call Michelle when she's en-femme. Usually
when we're alone. But I don't see any harm in you knowing it Mum," Eos
answered. "She picked it herself."
I sat there in amazement. Two of my family were talking about me, in
front of me, and they hadn't referred to me by using male pronouns
once.
"I think having a little sister. Even if she's only occasionally around
will be fun," Eos said with a grin. "It was fun when we did in secret.
But now we're out in the open."
I looked at Eos. "Hang on. Don't I get a say in any of this." I looked
at Mum and my sister. "I enjoy being Michelle, that I admit, but we
have to take Tanya's feelings into account. I know she is partially
responsible." I shrugged. "And I know I shocked her by coming down
dressed as Michelle this morning. But I don't want to force me being
Michelle down her throat." I closed my eyes. "I get the feeling that
I'm about to go on a journey. A journey that will define my life. But I
also admit not knowing how it ends scares me."
"We'll lay down some ground rules Michelle," Mum responded. "If that
helps?" she smiled. "But for now. I've got a daughter I want to spoil,
a daughter I need to get to know, a daughter that I've always had but
she was afraid to tell me." She chuckled again. "And a daughter who
needs to be taught the joys of retail therapy."
Eos laughed. "Welcome to the joys of being a woman kiddo," she squeezed
my shoulder. "If you're going to be a girl, even a pretend one, clothes
shopping is a skill you must learn." She urged me out of my chair.
"Let's get ready."
I nodded my consent to my sister.
I put on my denim jacket that matched my jeans. Flipping my hair out so
it wasn't caught under the jacket. I shook my head slightly, and
checked my self in the hall mirror. Reaching for my handbag I checked
it's contents, make up to make any running repairs, tissues, a small
purse, my mobile phone, a small note book and pen, and some tampons.
Why the tampons? So I wouldn't look out of place in a Ladies room. Or
just in case... as Eos had put it.
"WOW..!"
I spun round at the sound of the voice. "Mum, is there a problem?" I
asked. "Have I done something wrong?"
"No Michelle you've done nothing wrong," Mum smiled. "It's when you
flipped your hair out, shook your head. You were so feminine in your
actions," she giggled. "So I'd like to know, who are you and what have
you done with my son?"
I fought back a laugh at her joke but then I realised, it had a serious
undertone, so I smiled. "I'm Michelle. And as for your son he became
me," I replied. "I can bring him back if you wish?"
Mum came closer and placed her hands on my shoulders. "Michelle you are
a beautiful girl," she said as I blushed. "And if I'm right about how
this little adventure is going to turn out. You are going to embark on
one hell of a long journey. But I'll be there for you."
"Thanks Mum," I replied slightly confused.
I drove to the shopping mall, I have to admit it was an experience to
drive in heels as it was something I hadn't done before. But I managed,
and received praise from Mum. After parking the car we walked to the
store passing several of my male classmates. They passed me without any
signs of recognition, I sighed with relief.
"Well done Mikki," Eos whispered in my ear. "That was Jake Nolan and
Nick Green," she looked back. "If they had recognised you..."
"I know," I answered. "I would get hell at school on Monday. Or they
might have started something here."
"Anything I should be concerned about girls?" Mum asked. "I sense we
got away with something."
Eos answered. "Those two boys are in Michelle's class. They're known to
open their mouths before engaging their brains," she looked at me. "And
as they didn't recognise Michelle. It means my sister passes as a
girl."
I smiled at Eos. "But then again I have a good tutor," I said. "And all
the other trips we've made helped."
Claire was waiting for us at 'Feminine Touch' the store which was
chosen as our first stop. They specialised in women's clothes, shoes
and lingerie, a one stop shop for everything Mum intended to get me.
They were also a rather high end store. I looked at Mum as we crossed
the threshold.
"You deserve the best Michelle," Mum answered my unasked question. And
she went off to the 'Young Miss' section.
"Wow Michelle," Claire said with a smile. "I wish my Mum would spoil
me."
"It's come as a surprise to me Claire." I shrugged. "But I'm not going
to argue."
"Michelle..!" Mum called. "I've found something that I think you'll
like..."
"Coming Mum..."
We left the store with; Four skirts, Six blouses in a variety of
colours, a full length denim skirt, two knee length denim skirts, a
leather jacket, two pairs of court shoes, a pair of ballet flats, a
pair of ankle boots, several packs of Panties of various types, several
bra's and a full length dark green evening dress. But our trip didn't
end there, I had my colours checked at the MAC concession in store and
I left with a complete make up kit. I looked at Mum, did she know
something that I didn't. I can remember the assistant telling me that
my skin was wonderful, and what ever I was doing to keep it smooth and
girlish I was to keep doing it.
Mum suggested we go to 'The Emporium' for a couple of more specialised
items and a couple of summer dresses and maxi dresses.
I was in the changing room trying on a Deep Blue Maxi dress when Claire
rushed in with a corset. "Michelle, Michelle you've really got to try
this. It screams you...!"
She knocked me and my breast forms fell out. I was putting them back in
to my bra...
"Oh my." She paused as she sat down on. "I would have never of
guessed."
"Claire," I smiled. "I can explain..." I went pale under my make up. "I
can explain everything."
Claire looked at me. "Michael, Michael is that you?" she eventually
asked. "Because you look absolutely fantastic," she stood up and hugged
me. "You better say something girlfriend."
"It's me Claire," I answered her. "I'm Michael under all this." I
looked at her. "I like to be a girl sometimes. I came out to Mum last
night."
Claire chuckled whilst still hugging me. "I suspected something." She
broke the hug. "But you look so good." She smiled. "You've nothing to
worry about. My uncle transitioned last year. So your secret is safe
with me." Claire kissed me on the cheek. "And I think we should hang
out together. You can't stay in all the time."
I looked at the corset as I picked it up. "Maybe for the Fancy Dress
party," I said with a slight smile. "I'll need some help to fit into
the dress I'm wearing."
"Which dress would that be Michelle?" Claire asked.
"Belle's Ball gown," I answered. "I going to go as Belle from Beauty
and the Beast."
Claire laughed. "A boy going as a girl," she chuckled. "You go girl.
You go for it. Because those stuffed shirts at the club certainly need
a shake up."
Claire helped me 'repair' the damage. And we exited the changing room
arm in arm.
Mum whispered, "Is there something I should know about girls?" she
looked at us both. "I know something happened in there."
"Claire knows Mum," I said in a whisper. "She knows who I really am." I
looked at Claire. "But she's going to keep the secret," I paused. "And
she thinks going to the Club's party as Belle is a great idea."
That bought a smile to Mum's face. She pointed to the corset. "And that
is for?"
"Helping me get into Belle's gown Mum," I replied. "And I need a way
for my 'girls' to stay in place."
"We'll cross that bridge later Michelle." She paused. "I've made an
appointment for you to see C.J here at The Emporium on that regard."
Eos moaned that she was hungry. So we deposited our purchases in the
car and headed to the Food Court. The smells tickled my senses, my mind
said 'Burger and Fries' but I settled for a Chicken salad and a diet
coke. I had an image to project after all. Mum just smiled at my
choice. As I forked a piece of chicken into my mouth my eyes went wide.
Eos and Claire also spotted who I'd seen. Eos squeezed my knee. Diana
Nolan and her mother, Jake's sister, approached our table. She must
have seen as we walked around the Mall. Diana looked at Eos. "Hello
Hunter," she sneered. "Have you seen that dorky brother of yours?" She
paused. "Mom has this crazy idea he is walking around dressed as a
girl."
Eos laughed. "My brother dressed as a girl...!" She looked at Claire
and then at me. "That is the funniest thing I've heard all day."
"It's freaky," Diana said. "A boy dressed as a girl." She chuckled.
"It's the sort of stunt I see the freak pulling."
Mum spoke up as she approached our table. "Mrs Nolan." She looked at
Diana's mother. "Kindly rein in your daughter." She paused. "I wouldn't
dream of talking like that about your son."
Mrs Nolan turned to face Mum and defended her daughter. "My daughter is
allowed to speak freely. But I'm sure she would've held her tongue if
you were present."
"That's as maybe," Mum looked at me. "But calling my son a freak," she
looked at Diana. "That's not like you Diana," she looked at Eos and me.
"Because I heard an interesting rumour that you actually have a slight
crush on Michael."
"Things change Mrs. Hunter." Diana said blushing and therefore
confirming the rumour. "Because if it's true that he's out dressed as a
girl. His life at school would be hell on Monday," she continued.
Mum sighed. "Well if my son is dressed as a girl. Then I say good for
him."
Mrs. Nolan looked at Mum shocked. "You'd support him," she grimaced.
"You'd actually condone his actions?"
"Mrs. Nolan, I would support my son if he were Gay. It's a life style
choice," Mum retorted. "It's a shame he's not here to defend himself."
Diana and her mother walked away in disgust. I suspected that the
rumours about me would be around my classmates before Monday.
I took a sip of my cola. "I was sitting right in front of her." I
looked at mum. "Right in front of her and she didn't even put two and
two together," I laughed. "I'd hate to think what will happen when I
turn up at the Club as Belle."
Eos looked at me. "You're actually going to go as Belle?" she smiled.
"Wow. Does Tanya know?"
"Yes I'm going as Belle." I chuckled. "And Tanya doesn't know. If she
did she'd claim any credit," I smiled at Eos. "I'm dressing as Belle.
And I am going to do it properly. And not look like a boy in a dress."
Claire spoke up. "Michelle." She smiled. "If you do half as much as you
already done. You'll pull it off," she looked at Eos. "I know Mikki's
secret. And it's safe with me." Claire squeezed my hand.
Mum looked at me with pride and smiled. "Michelle you did very well
just sitting there and not outing yourself." She sat down.
I had to go to the ladies room to freshen up. Eos and Claire came with
me proving something to me. That ladies rarely go to the ladies room
solo. I redid my lipstick, checking my makeup to see if I needed to
make any repairs. I saw Claire smiling at me in the mirror. She
appeared to be looking for any trace that I was male. She found none.
So I turned to face her and she came closer placing her hands on my
hips. We looked into each others eyes. Her right hand gently stroked my
face, I caught it in my left hand and gently kissed the tips of her
fingers. Her right hand went to the small of my back and Claire pulled
me closer. I was shaking but I went with the flow, I hadn't been this
close to a girl as a boy. Yet here I was being intimate with a girl as
a girl. I took a breath and went to speak. Claire gently shushed me
with a finger and gently ever so gently kissed me on the lips. I closed
my eyes and let her kiss me again. It was so soft so sensual, it felt
so right. I felt my self give in to my feelings. We were disturbed by a
cough.
"If you two are going to continue," Eos paused. "I suggest you get a
room." She smiled as I blushed. "Or wait till you get home."
We left the ladies room. Mum sensed something had changed as she looked
at me. But she left the question unasked. She smiled as she saw Claire
take my hand. I had gained something as Michelle that I had always
dreamed of as Michael. I now had a girlfriend. Who accepted me for who
I am not what I am.
I was putting my new clothes away in my double wardrobe. When there was
a slight knock on my bedroom door. I turned to face the door. "Come in,
its open."
"Hi Michelle," Claire said as she came in. "I've come to help you if I
may."
"Of course you can help," I replied. "You helped with the choices I
made."
We chatted about the items I had bought, about my life choices, and how
I felt. I was hanging the evening dress up and thought that I would
need matching shoes.
"Michelle," Claire turned me round and placed her hands on my
shoulders. "I need to ask you a few questions," she chewed her lip. "I
hope you'll be able to answer them."
"Ask away Claire," I said with a smile. "Ask me anything you like."
We made our way over to my sofa bed and were sitting on the sofa. When
Claire said, "Ok," she looked into my eyes. "Why do you like dressing
as a girl? Do you like girls or boys? When I kissed you how did you
feel?"
I looked back at Claire. A girl I had admired ever since I'd first met
her, and I admit that I also had a slight crush on the raven haired
beauty who sat before me.
"Why do I like dressing as a girl? I dress as a girl because I like the
way the clothes feel, to see if I can pass and because I want to. I
like girls," I smiled. "So I guess when I'm dressed as girl I'm
lesbian," I squeezed Claire's hand. "And when you kissed me..." Claire
leant into me and our lips touched and again it was soft and sensual
and felt right. We broke the kiss. "When you kissed me I felt complete.
Claire you made me feel complete. I felt like a girl, safe, sensual,
that I was yours."
Claire purred. "Be careful what you wish for my sweet red haired
temptress," she leant in and we kissed again which became an embrace.
"Because your wish may come true," she whispered in my ear. "And I
think I'm going to enjoy the duality of this relationship. Having a Boy
and Girlfriend all wrapped in to one package," she giggled. This of
course made me smile.
I saw Claire out and as she left she kissed my cheek. "I'll call you
tomorrow Michelle. And I expect to see Michael at school on Monday."
"I'll wait for the call," I answered with a smile. "And pass the
message on to Michael."
I turned round to find Eos smiling at me. "I see my little sister has
grown up fast," she pointed towards my room. "We need to talk Mikki,"
as she said as she led the way. "I think Tanya may try to cause some
trouble."
"I think she already has," I said as I closed the door behind us. "I
didn't say anything at the time," I sat at my desk as Eos sat on my
sofa. "But don't you think it's odd that Diana came over to us and
mentioned that I'd been seen at the mall dressed as a girl?"
"You don't think?"
"I wouldn't put it past Tanya," I shook my head. "She is a little bit
like Dad in some respects," I was still wearing my daytime makeup but
chose to remove my wig. "But without proof..," and placed it on a wig
stand. "We can't confront her."
"Wow," Eos said, "Even without the wig you still look like a girl," she
came over and turned my chair so I faced the room's full length mirror.
"You should have been born a girl Mikki," she tussled my hair. "Put
your wig back on and we'll grab some tea."
She chuckled gently. "So," she helped me with my wig. "You and Claire?"
she asked. "From what I saw its serious." Deftly changing the subject.
"I guess we're an item Sis," I told her. "I think she likes the fact
she's getting a boy and girlfriend in one package."
As I stood up she hugged me saying. "Take care Mikki. I don't want to
see you get burned," she held me a little longer. "I don't want my
little sister to get hurt."
"Little sister?" I queried.
"Yes Michelle," Eos smiled. "Little sister. As I think I know how this
little sojourn of yours is going to end. But," Eos paused. "But then
again things may change."
So my first full day en-femme had gone rather well. And had been rather
interesting and a day of discovery. I lay back in bed and tried to
read, it felt as if I couldn't concentrate and I put my book down.
Looking at what I was wearing, a pastel pink silk baby doll nightdress
with matching panties, it was one of my purchases from The Emporium,
and I smiled.
I thought back to the events of the day, to the times that I had been
told that I was on a journey. Did the people who bought that subject up
know something I didn't? If I was on a journey surely I'd know.
Pushing, or at least trying to push my confusion to one side I slowly
drifted off to sleep. My dreams were delightfully female in nature, I
slept well. Not hearing a thing as someone entered my room to hang
something on my wardrobe door.
3. Sunday:
I was woken by a soft gentle voice saying. "There's a mug of tea on
your nightstand. Be careful when you get out of bed sweet heart."
"Thanks Mum," without realising I answered in my Michelle voice.
I slowly got out of bed and reached for the mug. There was an envelope
leaning against it. The envelope was addressed to 'Michelle'. I opened
it and a letter written in my mother's delicate hand writing fell into
my lap. I opened it and as I sipped my tea I started to read.
Michelle,
It was fun to spend some time with my youngest daughter yesterday. I
would like to spend some time with her again. You are under no pressure
if you wish to be Michael today I will understand. But if you wish to
be Michelle please indulge me and wear the dress hanging from your
wardrobe door. I have my reasons which will become apparent during the
day.
Love
Mum
I re-read the letter and looked over to my wardrobe door. Hanging on
the door was a short sleeved pastel blue summer dress with small white
polka dots covering it's fabric. I made note of the fact that the skirt
would end just above my knees. A matching bra, panty and garter belt
set had been laid out along with some tan stockings. Some nude coloured
court shoes stood by the side of my sofa. Now I knew we rarely attended
church so I began to wonder what my mother had planned for today's
sojourn.
I showered and dried my self gently dusting myself with ladies talc, I
used my ladies deodorant and started to get dressed. I took a look at
the dress and made the decision to wear my waist nipper. I followed
this with my flesh coloured dancers gaff, I had several, the garter
belt followed and then the panties. As I dressed I seemed to switch to
autopilot, Michael took a back seat as Michelle took over. I attached
the stockings and adjusted the garter straps. I slipped a pastel blue
full slip over my head and adjusted the fit. The slip hugged my faux
curves.
I sat down at my vanity to do my makeup. I chose to go light and subtle
and was putting the finishing touches with my mascara when there was a
knock on the door.
"Come in," I said, "I'm almost ready. But I think I need a hand with
the dress."
"That's where I come in," said mum smiling as she came in. "I thought
I'd better come and help. Having you dress up again was my idea." She
looked at me as I stood there. "Eos told me you looked like a girl
without your wig. You should've been a girl Michelle."
I shrugged. "If that's the case," I paused, blushing slightly. "Someone
should've told the 'Big Guy' upstairs. Because it's his mistake." I
pointed to the ceiling with my thumb.
Mum laughed. "Come and let me help you finish getting dressed," she
held the dress out to me. I stepped into it and it hugged my faux
curves as mum zipped me up. She had me sit down and helped me with my
long red haired wig. She deftly plaited it into a single plait that
hung between my shoulder blades. I looked puzzled but mum gently
squeezed my shoulder in reassurance. Slipping on the court shoes I
caught sight of the both of us in the mirror. I looked like a younger
version of mum, albeit with red hair. Mum looked beautiful in her black
dress which like mine had small white polka dots. Her Raven hair also
tied in a similar style to mine. "WOW...!" slipped from my lips as two
beautiful women stared back at us.
That wasn't my only surprise that morning. As I entered the kitchen I
was greeted by seeing Tanya in a pink version of the dress I wore but
she was wearing a white apron to keep hers clean. Eos was in green
which complimented her red hair. Her green eyes sparkled when she saw
me. "Wow Michelle you look stunning," she came up and hugged me. "I'm
so glad you agreed to another day en-femme," she poured me a mug of
tea. "You're even prettier than yesterday." Her comment made me blush
and I was at a loss for words. It also boasted my confidence slightly
which meant I was able to ignore the constant glare I was getting from
Tanya.
"Now girls you are to be careful. And don't get anything on those
dresses," Mum instructed us. "I would like today to be special. And
hopefully enjoyable for us all."
Tanya glared at me. "Well freak," she said with venom. "We're dressed
like this because of you," she dipped her head. "Are you satisfied?"
"Hey," I held a hand up. "I didn't ask Mum to get you to dress up. Mum
asked you," I took a sip of my tea. "I dressed to today because Mum
asked me too. We're dressed in similar dresses for a reason. And Tanya
you look pretty in pink."
"You're not going to get round me that easily freaky faggot," she fixed
me with an icy stare. "If you try anything freaky or funny today." She
paused. "Your life will be hell. On that you can trust me."
I sat back and took the threat. I wished that she could be as
understanding as Eos. I already knew, and was prepared for, the
problems that I would have at school the following day. Thanks to the
rumours started by Diana Nolan. But thankfully for Tanya, Mum hadn't
heard her threats.
I was checking the contents of my handbag when Eos approached me
smiling. "Hey Mikki," she said, "Don't let Tanya get you down. She just
needs some time to get used to the fact you make a prettier girl than
she does," she gently stroked my cheek. "Besides, You've got Mum and me
on your side."
I smiled before I answered. "Thank you Eos," I looked at my reflection.
"You know each time I dress," I turned to face her. "I look for any
signs of Michael. Hints that there is a boy under all the powder and
paint. But I never find any. And as for Tanya," I paused. "She'll come
round to our side. It may take some time. But I know she'll come
round." I was being truthful, I had faith in my oldest sister.
I had to smile as Mum drove us to the destination we were headed to.
Because I realised that we hadn't been out, that's truly out, as a
family since out father left. But here we were going out as a family. A
mother and her daughters, admittedly one was actually her son. To
anyone who saw us, that is what we appeared to be. Even Tanya was
smiling.
"We've arrived," Mum announced bringing the station wagon to a stop.
"Don't forget your handbags girls." She said with a grin.
I froze as I saw who was waiting for us. I was frozen in shock. How
could Mum have done this to me? For waiting for us to join them were my
Aunt Jessica, my Uncle John and my cousins Catherine and Samantha. My
aunt and cousins were wearing matching dresses, I had to smile because
Samantha rarely wore a skirt, let alone a dress. I also suspected that
one set of grandparents may be close by.
Mum saw my predicament and came up to get me. "I'm so sorry Michelle,
I'm so sorry. After the way you handled your self yesterday I
thought..." she paused. "I thought this would make a nice surprise. But
perhaps I should have run it past you first. Can you forgive me?"
I took a moment and gathered my thoughts. "Of course I can forgive you
Mum. I suppose I should get out of the car and go and say hello,"
remembering how I was dressed I exited the car in my best ladylike
manner. "It would be a shame to put all our work in getting ready to
waste."
Mum hugged me. "Just relax and enjoy the experience," she whispered.
"I'm sure that you'll do wonderfully. Trust your instincts." She smiled
as we walked up to my Aunts home. "Be the girl you know inside."
I realised that this was important; something my mother thought I had
to do. Something that would lay the ground work for what she suspected
was to come. So I went with my gut. And I went for it and became
Michelle for all to see.
Samantha, wearing a pastel yellow dress, came up with some iced tea her
eyes nearly popped when she saw me. She had to take a breath. "Wow
Michael, Michael is that you?" she asked. "Please tell me that you lost
a bet... Because you look fantastic...!" Sam shook her head.
"You're...." She paused. "Beautiful. I can't see any sign of my dorky
Sci-Fi obsessed cousin." She smiled. "My mum will love how you look."
Her last comment mad me blush. "You're going have to give me some make
up tips," she continued. I chuckled.
Sam took me to see her mother, I was nervous. I needn't have worried as
Aunt Jessica was all smiles and smothered me in a hug. "I see little
Alice has grown up into a beautiful woman. Give me a twirl dear," I did
as I was asked. "You have legs to die for," she looked me up and down.
"So how do find dressing as a girl Michael?"
"I like it Aunt Jessica, I like it a lot, I feel comfortable, a little
more confident in myself," I looked at my aunt. "And please call me
Michelle. It's the name I use when I dress as a girl," I paused. "You
can call me Mikki if you wish."
Aunt Jessica smiled. "Ok Michelle, I apologise for my earlier slip,"
she squeezed my hand. "You've probably heard this before but looking at
you today. You should've been born as a girl." She smiled. "And I'm
pleased, No make that proud to see that you're being true to yourself,"
I was pulled into another hug. "Now let me take my niece to meet
everyone else."
I blushed as Uncle John gently kissed my knuckles. "You have your
mother's beauty Michelle. It's amazing that I know my nephew is in
there somewhere, but," he smiled. "All I see is a beautiful young
woman."
"Thank you Uncle John. That means a lot," I replied.
My mother watched all my interactions and was smiling broadly. Eos
stood beside her. "Where's my brother Mum?" she asked. "Michael...."
She paused correcting herself. "Michelle is moving, acting, talking as
if she was born a girl. It's as if Michelle is who he's meant to be."
She paused. "Do you think he knows that he should be a girl? Be the
sister I always knew I had?"
Mum smiled. "Eos," she looked at my sister. "I am sure Michelle will
come to that realisation herself," she looked in my direction. "We're
not to force her to do anything," she looked back at Eos. "But I think
subconsciously she knows. I'm sure he knows but is scared."
Eos nodded. "You amaze me Mum," she looked as I hugged Uncle John.
"You've not slipped with the pronouns once."
"It's due to a lot of practice Eos. It takes practice." Mum answered.
Catherine looked at me as she gently pushed her hair behind her ear.
"Wow. Where's that dorky teenager gone?" she asked with a chuckle. "You
look amazing."
I smiled. "Well he discovered he liked wearing girl's clothes," I was
always honest with Catherine. "And 'Viola' what you see is what you
get," I hugged her. "Thanks for being so understanding. Thank you for
not staring at me in disbelief."
It was Catherine's turn to smile. "Well," she said pointing to the
Moses basket at the side of her chair. "You were one of the few who
were there for me when I had Alexandra," she picked her daughter up.
"So being here for you is nothing."
Alex gurgled which bought a smile to my face. "She's the true beauty
here," I said, "She'll melt hearts when she's older."
Catherine offered Alex to me to hold; I accepted her gingerly but
comfortably held her in the crook of my arm. I suddenly felt strangely
maternal; it felt natural for me to be holding a child. I started to
rock her gently, humming a gentle tune. Catherine gently took her back
and laid her in the Moses Basket. She smiled. "You're a natural
Michelle. It's amazing. Alex is very particular in who holds her."
We all eventually moved to the family room. Mum and Aunt Jessica went
to prepare lunch. As they left the room the conversation turned to the
upcoming Fancy Dress Ball at the country club. And of course the main
topic of conversation was who each of us were going to dress as. Eos
mentioned that she and Tanya were going to be Anna and Elsa from
'Frozen'. To which Uncle John replied he was going as Captain Hook and
that Aunt Jessica would be Mary Poppins. Samantha said that she had yet
to make up her mind. Catherine smiled and said she'd be going as
Jasmine from Aladdin. They then all turned to me. I held my hands up
and said that I would surprise everyone with my costume. Tanya looked
at me but a look from Eos stopped that conversation before it started.
Uncle John smiled. "Ok," he looked at me. "Michelle you are a very
pretty, no beautiful young woman," he paused. "Are you planning on
transitioning?"
"I'm not sure," I replied. "I'm really not sure if that is the right
thing to do."
"But you'll be a beautiful woman Michelle," Catherine responded. "And
if how you handled Alex is anything to go by." She smiled. "You'll be a
fantastic parent."
Tanya almost choked on her drink. "Freak features a fantastic parent?"
she looked at Catherine. "When are you going to get it," she sneered.
"My brother is a freak. He's a faggot and a waste of space," she
ignored a warning look from our uncle. "He'll never amount to
anything."
"Tanya...!" Uncle John looked at her. "In my house we keep a civil tone
about people."
"Uncle John. I tell it how I see it," Tanya looked at and pointed at
me. "That waste of space would've been better off not being born at
all."
I bit my tongue and with tears in my eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry...!" I
said, "I'm going before I say something I'll regret later," I looked at
Tanya. "As for you Sis... I'm going to prove you wrong. So help me." I
marched out of the room.
I wanted to yell, I wanted to scream, and I wanted to strangle Tanya.
But I had to calm down. I could hear Uncle John read Tanya the riot
act. And it was at that point I found myself in the kitchen. Aunt
Jessica spotted me. "Hello Michelle," she sensed something was wrong.
"Do you want to help us with preparing lunch?"
"I'd like that," I smiled sadly. "I'd like to help if I can."
"Ok," she came towards my and dropped an apron covered with little
hearts over my head. I adjusted it to fit and Aunt Jessica tied a very
feminine bow at my back. I flipped my hair and started to help. Mum
smiled and nodded at Aunt Jess's unspoken question. I started to chop
the carrots as Mum directed. Mum then left the kitchen and left me
with Aunt Jessica.
"You look like you've got a lot on your mind Michelle." She smiled and
patted the stool next to her. "I often find a girly chat helps." She
smiled again. "So how can I help my niece?"
"It's nothing Aunt Jessica," I told her. "It's nothing," I looked at my
Aunt. "Sorry. That's not true. Tanya's just made me feel like..," I
paused. "Like I'm nothing."
I hung my head down. "Because I'm dressed as a girl." I had tears in my
eyes.
"Look at me Michelle," Aunt Jessica voice had a serious edge. "You are
a beautiful person. You've turned out well. Who cares if you like to
dress as girl?" she paused. "I certainly don't. I see a very pretty
girl sitting next to me. A pretty girl who can do anything she puts her
mind too," she looked me straight in the eye as she raised my head.
"You are my niece Michelle. And I love you. Don't let anyone try to put
you down. You're about to start a long journey Michelle. Just know that
you won't make alone."
"But Aunt Jessica," I said, "I have no plans to transition. At least no
plans at this moment."
My Aunts eyebrows rose as if asking a question. "Are you sure
Michelle?"
I nodded. "I admit that there are a lot of confusing thoughts going
around my head,"
I tapped my forehead. "The last few days have," I paused. "Awoken
strange feelings. Feelings that I have a strange feeling I suppressed,"
I chewed my lip. "But I'm scared. Scared that I may make the wrong
choice, scared to lose those I love and above all I'm scared for
myself," I started to cry. "I'm Michael, and I'm also Michelle. But I
really love being Michelle," I spotted my mother. "But I don't think
that I'm ready to be Michelle for the rest of my life. At least not
yet."
I closed my eyes fully realising that I had opened up the possibility,
in my mind, that I may take those steps that would lead to my
transition from frail scared boy to a happy stronger woman. I started
to shake and fell forward. Aunt Jessica caught me.
Mum smiled as she came closer. "I'm sure you'll make the right choice
Michelle," she looked at Aunt Jessica. "And you'll make it when you
know it's the right time."
We finished preparing the lunch. I learnt a lot from my mother and
aunt. Eos came in as we were having a coffee break and looked at me.
"You seem a lot happier Michelle." She smiled. "And you look a lot
calmer."
"I am Eos," I looked at my aunt. "I had a good girly chat with someone.
And off loaded a whole load of baggage," I got up and hugged her.
"Thank you for being there for me Eos."
Lunch came and went and we settled down to relax for the afternoon.
Samantha got me to show her some of my makeup tips. But thankfully Eos
also helped. Catherine got me to open up a bit more. And we agreed that
I would visit her as Michelle as often as I could. That upset Tanya.
It was as tea-time approached that something happened that would leave
a mark with Tanya for a long time.
Tanya had been left to look after Alexandra as Uncle John wanted to
take some photographs of us all. Tanya declined to participate.
We came into the Family room to find Tanya holding a screaming and
balling Alex at arms length at a loss at what to do.
"She won't quiet down. All she's done is scream and cry."
"Tanya, Give her to me"
"Bug out freak. What do you know...?"
"I can get Alex quiet..."
"I said bug out freak. I'll handle it...!"
"Tanya. Give my daughter to Michelle...!" Catherine ordered. "Now...!"
"I've got it...!"
"Tanya...!"
Reluctantly Tanya handed Alex to me. I bought her to my chest and then
lowered her into the crook of my arm. She slowly stopped her sobbing, I
started to hum a tune, and I walked towards an armchair and slowly
turned to sit down. Catherine handed me a bottle which I slowly gave to
Alex. The child started to suckle on the bottles tit. I continued to
hum the tune. "There that's how you do it." I said smiling at Tanya.
"Babies are very sensitive creatures." Alex gurgled in agreement. I
placed the bottle down as Alex gently took hold of my little finger.
Uncle John managed to get a photograph of me feeding and nursing
Alexandra. Even he said I was a natural. I hoped one day that I would
be able to prove it when I had children of my own.
Claire called me shortly after we got home. She told me I should check
out my Facebook page and my Twitter feed. As I checked it I began to
feel sick to my stomach. Diana Nolan had started a full offensive on
attacking my character. Calling me all sorts of names, and wondering
why I hadn't replied to any of the posts. I thought about posting a
denial and asking Diana for proof. But if I did I would fall into her
trap, which Claire warned me the posts were, so I chose not to bite.
Claire asked me. "So what are you going to do at school tomorrow?." She
paused. "You're going to get asked all sorts of questions."
"Claire," I took a breath. "I'm going to tell the truth," I paused.
"I'm going to turn the tables on Miss Nolan."
Claire finished by saying she'd see me at school. And I knew that
tomorrow I'd find out who my true friends are.
Tanya stuck her head round my door. "Interesting Twitter feed
freak...!"
Eos came in to see me. "Have you seen Facebook and Twitter?," she
hugged me. "If Mum sees it she'll freak..."
"Eos," I smiled. "If Mum sees it she sees it. But tomorrow will be
interesting."
4. Monday :- Back to school...
As I walked to my Homeroom for registration I could feel all the eyes
on me. I wondered what was going to happen. I was soon to find out...
Miss Grant, my homeroom teacher, took registration. And then informed
me that the Principal wanted to see me. So I left the classroom and
went to the Principal's office.
I was shocked to see my mother and Eos waiting for me, a rather puzzled
Claire came down the hall and stood with us. I smiled. "Mum, I've done
nothing wrong as far as I'm aware," Claire took my hand and gave it a
supportive squeeze.
"Mister Hunter," Principal Grogan looked at me. "Would you care to
explain the traffic on your Twitter feed?"
"A lot of rumour and conjecture Mrs Grogan," Mum answered. "A lot of
rumour and no proof."
"I asked your son Mrs. Hunter," the Principal looked at me. "So I ask
you again Mr Hunter. Would you care to explain the traffic on your
Twitter feed?"
"Ma'am, I know you follow all the pupils who are on Twitter at this
school," I paused. "But I get the feeling I am being accused of
something," I gathered my thoughts. "So before I answer the question.
I'd like to face my accuser."
Mrs Grogan nodded. "That is your right Mr Hunter." She smiled as she
asked her secretary to send my accuser in.
Diana Noble and her mother came into the office, Diana had the strut of
a peacock. Her mother looked at me with distain, as if I wasn't really
there. She turned to the principal and said, "I'm happy to see someone
has some sense," turning to me. "And it's good to see you in
appropriate clothes rather than skirts. If the rumours are to be
believed."
"About your Twitter feed Mr. Hunter?" Mrs. Grogan asked.
"I suggest you ask Diana Ma'am," I said looking at her directly. "She's
the one who started the run of tweets," I looked at Mum with my trust
me I know what I'm doing look. "I only read them last night. And the
majority of it seems to be about the conversation my mother had with
Mrs. Nolan and Diana. I'd like to know why she'd want to spread rumours
like that without anything to back up what she'd tweeted," I grinned
slightly. "I mean there is no mention of the rumour that Diana has a
slight crush on me," I looked at Diana. "Diana you should know that if
you're going to tell a story. You tell the whole story."
"Well Miss Nolan?," Mrs. Grogan enquired. Diana looked at her mother
who nodded at her daughter. "The balls now in your court."
Diana took a breath. "Well Mrs. Grogan. My Mother and I heard from a
reliable source that Michael... Mr. Hunter was at the mall dressed as a
girl. I confronted Eos, Miss Hunter, who was sitting with her friends.
And later joined by Mrs Hunter. To whom I repeated the rumour. She
laughed it off, saying that if he was out wearing girl's clothes she
would support him." She looked at her mother. " My mother took offence
at that remark," Diana paused. "I called him a freak. Like I did in the
tweets. But what I don't understand is how can someone you like do
something crazy like dressing as a girl?" she blushed at her admission.
Mum, Claire and Eos all hid a smile, as Diana had opened the door. I
smiled as I was about to shut it.
Mrs. Grogan looked at me. "Well Mr. Hunter it appears you have a
question to answer." She smiled warmly. "Do you care to answer?"
"I do," I took a breath. "Diana's reliable source was correct in what
she and her mother was told. I freely admit that I was at the mall
dressed as a girl," I let
