People often ask me why I do what I do what I do. The answer, I feel, is
always slightly disappointing to them. People want to hear that I do this
job because I see the need for it, in the 'on going war to keep the
United States a land of the freedom and honor'. But honestly, I do it
because it's a blast! In what other profession do you get to jump from
planes and helicopters? Who else would let you blow up buildings and fire
some of the most awesome weapons on the planet at work?
I came from a military family. My father and his father had been military
men. Most of my cousins had served in one branch of the military of
another. I always looked up to to them, listening intently to there
stories soaking in every word. As soon as I was old enough I joined up as
a marine. I have been a soldier since i was 18 years old. It was the only
thing I ever wanted to do. I served in many conflicts around the world.
On my 22 Birthday I graduated to Marine Recon. It was hard, back breaking
work but when I passed training I felt like I was invincible. From then
on I realized I would be a soldier until the day I died. I was a lifer.
But life is funny, in that as soon as you think you're on an even path,
things change.
I was sitting in my apartment on a rare overcast morning in San Diego. I
had been back from deployment for a week and the itch to get back to the
action was already starting to bother me. It's not that I was a war
junkie but sitting around was never really my style. I had returned to an
empty apartment yet again. The women I dated never seemed to make it past
the first month of me being out of town before I received a "Dear John"
letter in the mail call. I'm not sure if it made it better or worse that
my name really was John. It sometimes made me sad but for the most part,
when I thought of it, I'd have to smile.The usual excuses, "I can't take
the stress, I've met someone else", they became more and more hollow.
Mostly I stopped paying attention to them.
I finished my breakfast and went to have a shower, shaving in the mirror,
I admired my physique. I was 5'9" and 175lbs. I had brown hair and blue
eyes which made me stand out enough to most women to get laid pretty
easy.I had a number of scars from injuries over the years but all in all
i was in pretty good shape.
A knock on my door broke me from my day dreaming. I pulled on my robe and
answered the door. Standing there was a man i had never seen before. He
was around my height, maybe 30 years old, clean shaven with light brown
hair and a strong jaw. He was dressed in a business suit. I immediately
smelt "government" on the guy.
"Mr Rivas?" the suit asked.
"Who's asking?" I replied.
"My name is Lucas and I work for certain people who are very interested
in acquiring your services" he stated.
"Listen buddy, you're disrupting my shower. So skip to the punchline."
"There is no punchline, Mr Rivas. Here is my card and if you would like
to be part of a very special team, working to protect this country and
earn a lot more money than you do right now. Call me." He held out a
plain looking card.
I took the card and looked at it. It read "Lucas. 555-365-9872." I looked
up to find the suit had gone. I looked around but there was no sign of
him. I closed the door, put the card on the table and went back to my
shower.
It had been days since the suit had knocked on my door and carried on
about my business but the offer of "a lot more money" had peaked my
interest and I had heard the stories about how some of the shady
government agencies recruited their shooters this way. In the end my ego
beat out my better judgement and I called the number on the card. The
number rang.....and rang I was beginning to think it was a joke and hang
up when there was a knock on my door. I put down the phone and answered
the door. On the other side stood Lucas.
"Have you been waiting out there since the last time i saw you?" I
demanded.
"Of course not," he replied. "So it seems you are interested in our
offer. Please follow me"
With that he turned and walked away from my door over to a large black
sedan.
I quickly grabbed my keys, wallet and jacket and followed him towards
what i assumed was his car. It was a nondescript black sedan with tinted
windows. He walked around to the rear door and i followed suit, climbing
into the back seat on my side of the car.Once I was settled into my seat
I was about to turn and ask exactly where I was going when I noticed that
there was no driver in the vehicle. Too late I realized my mistake and
the world blinked out.
I was faintly aware of motion and that the engine noise sounded wrong,
too load. I opened my eyes slowly, expecting the normal blinding headache
associated with being drugged. But to my surprise I actually felt great.
I looked around and realized that i was a passenger in a very plush
executive helicopter. The suit was seated next to me.
"What the fuck is going on?" I asked him, trying to stay calm.
"I apologize for the subdefuge but I'm sure you understand the need for
secrecy," he stated in a matter of fact way. "As I said, my name is Lucas
and I work for a shadow division of the US government called TMF Bio-
Engineering. We recruit people of your skill set for special positions
with our division. Field black-ops with twist, you could say."
"Really, and you think I'm just gonna buy that bullshit?"
"Of course you will need confirmation, we would expect nothing less. But
your profile shows a certain adaptability and .....flexibility which make
you very interesting to my employers and so we're going to do everything
we can to convince you to join us." The man shifted in his seat slightly
which made me think he was preparing for something.
"Whats to stop me from taking over this chopper by force, flying to the
nearest town and telling the cops you kidnapped me?"
"Well, you could try again but we'll just end up having this same
conversation," he said calmly.
"What?" This guy was confusing me now.
"Well, did you notice your handcuffs?" I looked down and suddenly
realized that my hands were now in handcuffs and chained to the floor.
"What the fuck?!? How did you do that?" I shouted.
"You won't remember but we've already had this discussion a couple of
times. The last time it did not end well and I was forced to restrain you
for the rest of the journey."
I was suddenly aware that my shoulder and the left side of my face hurt
like a bitch.
"How? Why don't I remember?" I asked.
"I simply used the skills and technology my employers bestowed upon me."
He turned to look out of the window. "I don't know the full extent of the
offer that is waiting for you but I'm sure you'll want to hear it. And
you won't have to wait long." He pointed down towards the a huge
sprawling complex of buildings in a snowy clearing surrounded by a huge
forest of trees.
The Chopper landed and I was guided to a large glass office looking
building. The entrance hall was a large clean space with white and
stainless steel furniture. A pretty young woman sat behind a reception
desk in the middle of the room.
"Morning Debbie," Lucas called as we entered.
"Morning Mr Lucas," Debbie replied. She had a brilliant smile and smooth
clear skin the color of cream tea.
"I hear you were accepted to the program," Lucas stated in the same way
you would ask about a collage acceptance letter.
"Oh yes," she squealed and bounced in her chair which caused her large
breasts to jiggle under her shirt. "I go in for my procedure this
afternoon. If you would like to come, I'd love to see you there for my
big day. I've been working so hard to get this far and now the day is
here, I cant wait."
Lucas smiled. "I wouldn't miss it."
Lucas lead the way past Debbie and through a set of double doors, down a
hallway and into a small boardroom.
Another man was seated at the far end reading through a stack of files.
He looked up as we came into the room.
"Ah Mr Rivas, I've read some fantastic things about you. First class
shot. Hand to hand combat instructor. Strong. Willful. Loyal. A master
tactician. Your commanding officers have nothing but the up most respect
for you" The man said. He paused and I tried to size him up. He was
around 50 years old, graying but in good shape for his age."You also do
not seem very close to your family. You don't visit often. You rarely
call and you never email them. Why is that? Bad memories?"
"With all due respect, I didn't come here for a session with a shrink.
You have a job offer for me, right?" I was barely controlling my anger
but i could see that this was a deliberate move on his part to see what
kind of reaction he could get out of me.
"That is correct," he replied with a smile.
"So get to the offering," I said through gritted teeth.
"Straight to business, eh? Don't you even want to know my name?" He
continued to smile up at me.
"At this point, I could give a fuck less what your name is. Sir," I spat.
"I can understand that, Mr Rivas. Here at TMF we work toward providing
the perfect person for the perfect job. By that i do not mean just hiring
and training, although that is a part of it, I mean creating the perfect
person for a perfect job. Through bio-engineering. For example. We have
been given the task of supplying a candidate for a certain mission, or in
this case group of missions, by the US government, which requires not
only a specialized skill set, which is where you come in, but also a
specialized person. Which is what we do."
"So you want me for a mission and you're gonna give me special toys to do
it with?" I asked.
"In a manner of speaking, yes. We want you for an operation called
'Project: Mighty Mouse'. It will require some physical changes and
special training on your part. For which you will be paid handsomely," he
explained.
"Physical changes? What do you mean?"
"That is what I've been trying to say. We here at TMF enhance our best
operatives with the best of bio-engineering to create the perfect
candidate for the job," the man said matter of factly.
"I don't get it." I was confused but intrigued. Either this was the
craziest group of bastards on the planet or the start to an incredible
opportunity. I was betting on the former.
"Attempt to attack Mr Lucas," the man said.
Not wishing to pass up the opportunity or give the usual "What do you
mean 'Attack this guy' Speech" I immediately launched at Lucas only to
find myself suddenly on the floor with my arm twisted painfully behind my
back.
"Now you see what I mean. Mr Lucas has undergone one of our procedures to
gain and ability to move faster than the human eye can follow. Only for
short distances but you get the idea, I'm sure."
Lucas let me up off of the ground and shook my hand. "Sorry again." He
smiled.
I rubbed my arm and looked at the guy behind the desk. "Ok, what's your
name? I can't just call you 'dude' the whole time I'm here."
"My name is Hank Gibson. I am the head of new developments here. In this
case Project Mighty Mouse. You can call me Mr Gibson or Hank if you'd
like. We're pretty informal once you get to know us."
"Ok, Hank. Whats Project Mighty Mouse?" I asked.
Hank leaned forward on his desk.Sorting his papers into rough piles.
"It's basically your standard Black-ops Super soldier project, but with a
twist. I'll give you the details after Lucas has shown you around a
little and then, if you like what you see and would like to join our
little organization, I'll give you more details."
He turned to Lucas and said, "Please give him the full tour. Start with
introducing him to the the Doctors and then go form there. I hear Debbie
is getting promoted this afternoon, so make sure you don't miss that."
Hank then went back to his paperwork as if we were no longer there.
"I have a question for you. If this is such a top secret black-ops place,
why would you give me a grand tour without me signing a confidentiality
agreement or something?"
Hank looked back to me. "Ah, good question! Tell me do you remember
trying to take control of the chopper that brought you here and almost
crashing?"
I had no idea about what he was taking about but it did kinda sound like
a move i might make if I thought i had no other option and was being
kidnapped.
"What? No," I exclaimed
Hank looked smug. "Exactly, my friend. Exactly."
Lucas opened the door and motioned to leave.
I followed.
"Did I do that?" I asked Lucas once we were out of the room.
"You sure did. Wasn't the coolest of maneuvers but I couldn't blame you
really." Lucas smiled.
Lucas turned and lead the way thought the huge building. Within minutes I
was lost. The building was very modern with steel and glass walls, open
spaces and tall walkways.It was a nice, clean open building but it was
also a maze. I followed him listening to him point out banks of offices,
architectural curiosities and tell me how much he enjoyed working here.
He sounded more like one of the Ushers for the Disney tours. I have to
admit while walking through the place we met a number of other worker and
everyone seemed very pleased to be there. Not in a creepy way either.
More in a 'satisfied at a job well done' way.
We entered and elevator. Lucas swiped a key card, the first I'd seen all
day I had been beginning to think that there was no security here besides
the few guards I'd seen outside when we walked in. As the elevator moved
up the floors Lucas turned to me and said, "I should warn you about the
Doctors so that it doesn't cause a problem." He seemed to have relaxed a
lot during the tour but now he looked more serious than when we first
met. "The Doctors are Dr Shawn and Dr Claire O'Keeffe, they are a husband
and wife team that we have been working with for almost ten years. Around
four years ago there was an incident and the Doctors were effected.
They've mostly learned to work with their limitations now but it's still
a sore subject."
"What happened?" I asked, suddenly gripped by the story.
"Well, They were working on a number of different projects including one
for increase fertility. Dr Claire was a little over eager to field test
the drug because she really wanted a family but Dr Shawn was infertile.
So in a moment of weakness she tested the drug on herself and her
husband."
The doors to the elevator opened into a corridor. Lucas again lead the
way.
"The test had unforeseen side effects, to say the least."
We stopped at a door and Lucas turned to me again before opening the
door.
"Now I would say don't stare but that'd be pointless. But do try not to
be rude." Lucas turned back to the door and we went inside.
"Doctor? I have a potential recruit that I'd like you to meet," Lucas
called.
"Oh morning Lucas, We'll be out in moment," came the reply in a
friendly, sing song woman's voice.
I looked around the lab. It looked like how I would imagine a research
lab to look like. Clean, sterile and with electronic testing equipment
and glass jars everywhere. I was suddenly aware of the sound of two
women, sort of grunting and straining.
"Oh this never gets any easier," came a different, slightly deeper,
woman's voice.
"Yes, maybe we should get another couch. One that's not so low to the
ground," replied the first woman.
I looked over at Lucas and he was looking back at me with a "Just wait
for it" expression on his face.
I looked back as a figure came waddling around the corner at the rear of
the lab. I thought my eyes were going to burst out of my skull. The body
that I saw made my mouth dry up with surprise. She, because I'm not sure
what else to call it, was around 5'8" tall, slim but heavily pregnant,
wearing pink sweat pants, white trainers and a large black t-shirt which
was stretched across her swollen belly and huge breasts. What took my
breath away was the fact that the body had two heads. The one on the left
looked to be around 30 years old, subtle make up and blonde hair, styled
into a neat bob. The head on the right somehow looked older, she wore no
make up and had her mid brown hair cut short in an almost military cut.
The person waddled towards me with a hand outstretched.
"Welcome to the lab," the left head said. "I'm Claire O'Keeffe and this
is my husband Shawn."
I could tell that this was the first person I had heard speak as we
entered. I suddenly remembered my manners and shook the proffered hand.
"Er, Pleased to meet you," I managed to say.
"Please excuse the wardrobe," said Shawn, the head in the right with her
slightly deeper but still feminine voice. "It's very difficult to find
clothes that fit properly in our condition." She motioned down to her
body.
"Yes, I can imagine. Do you have to have the shirts specially made with
two neck holes?" I mumbled.
Claire snorted with laughter and Lucas coughed but Shawn just stared
daggers at me.
"He was referring to us being pregnant," Claire giggled.
"Oh yes, of course, yes. I'm so sorry. I'm just a little shocked." I
could feel my face burning red.
Claire rubbed her huge belly and laughed. "Its Ok, It took a while for us
to come to terms with our sudden changes too. When it first happened we
were terrified but as things started to settle down we worked it out.
Obviously it was hardest on Shawn because of the loss of his manhood..."
"Claire!" Shawn shouted, obviously angry.
"I'm sorry but that's the fact of the matter," Claire rebuffed. "You know
they said that the best way to break down the walls is to talk about the
issues."
"But he didn't even ask!" Shawn stated while pointing a slender feminine
finger at me.
Claire looked at me and then at the clock. "Well, he was going to, I'm
sure and we have time" She said to Shawn before turning to me. "Would you
like to hear the story? We have around 45 minutes before out waters
break"
"Sure. Wait, your waters are going to break now?" I was confused.
"Well, not right now," Shawn said. "In around 45 minutes. One of the
side effects to the accident is that, not only are our pregnancies around
3 months shorter than normal, but because we can work out the exact time
the egg is fertilized we can see almost exactly when the birth will
begin. We've been feeling contractions all morning. that was why we were
sitting down. I can tell you, if I'd realized how uncomfortable and
painful pregnancy is I would have worked on a contraceptive instead of a
fertility treatment." He looked tired.
"Hey, don't be mean," Dr Clair said with a upset look on her face.
"I'm Sorry, I'm just grouchy because of the contractions. You don't wanna
hear the story do you?" Dr Shawn asked me with a hopeful expression.
I turned toward Lucas, looking for a little help in what the correct
response might be. But he had his back to me and i couldn't help but
think that he was tying to keep a distance from the discussion. I was in
a tricky spot. On one hand I had been told not to be rude but what was
considered rude in this situation?
"Er...to be honest I er....."
"See!" snapped Claire before I could finish. "Everyone wants to know
Shawn, at least this way he gets to hear it from the horse's mouths and
not some gossip in the offices."
"Ok, fine," Shawn begrudgingly snorted. "But I wanna sit down while you
tell him."
The Doctors turned around and waddled back to their chair around the
corner. From the back I could see that from the rib cage down they looked
just like any other woman but their shoulders were slightly bigger to
accommodate the two heads set on their joint shoulders. They moved over
to their chair and with a loud sigh eased down gently into it. Once
settled down they slipped off their shoes revealing swollen feet with
bright red toe nail polish.
"Ok, so it all began about four years ago," Dr Claire started. "We had
known for a while that we were not able to have children but it had begun
to become a sore spot for me. I came from a large family and grew up with
lot of brothers, sister and cousins. I had sacrificed having children for
years because of my career but we had settled into this company and we
both made great money, so it started to seem like a good time to think
about possibilities. After a while it started to really get to me that we
couldn't have children."
"It bothered me too," cut in Shawn, "I just didn't know how much it was
eating at Claire."
"Yeah, I know honey." Claire reached up and stroked Shawn's face. But
then stopped and both grimaced in pain.
"Are you ok? Should I call someone?" I asked nervously. They had both
turned red in the face and were fighting back the pain, groaning and
writhing in their chair.
"Gnnngh, No. We'll be fine in a moment," panted Claire from behind
gritted teeth.
The pain began to subside and Shawn reached for wet cloth next to their
chair and wiped his forehead.
"Sorry about that. Where were we?" said Claire gathering her composure
"Ok, So I was getting broody and working on the fertility treatment was
not helping. It was driving me crazy, we had talked about this problem
but we could never decide on a path to take. We wanted Children but we
weren't sure how to go about getting around our own fertility problem. In
a moment of insanity I convinced myself that i should try our fertility
treatment on us as a first human trial. It had worked miracles in the
animal studies so i figured it could be a safe bet."
"She neglected to ask me because she knows I'd have said no," Shawn
stated, looking annoyed.
"Yes, I knew he wouldn't go for the idea so I slipped the drug into our
food one night. Its effects at first were amazing. I'd never felt so
sexual in my life. We started making out like high school kids and soon
we moved to the bedroom. We kissed and made love for what seemed like
hours."
Shawn took the cloth off his forehead and took over the story.
"Everything was going great until I orgasmed. Soon after that happened i
found i wasn't able to pull out. We seemed to be joined at the groin and
the orgasm just kept going. We tried to pull apart but I just kind of
melted into Claire. It started at the groin but it continued all the way

"It was very weird to say the least, to wake up with another head. We
both seem to have control over our shared body but we can relax and let
the other have control, which took some getting use to." Claire said.
"I was even more shocked, I think. Not only did I wake up with another
head but also a vagina and breasts. I would have to say i did not take it
well. But at first I still looked like to old male me in the face,
stubble on my chin and all."
"Yes, not just stubble on your face either. Having one hairy breast was
very annoying," Claire cut in with a smile.
"That's true. At first i was desperately trying to hang on to my maleness
but that's pretty difficult to do with these hanging off your chest"
Shawn reached up and cupped his large breasts. "But then the biggest
shocker came soon after when we discovered a month or so later that we
were pregnant with out first child and because of the hormones, our
breasts grew, my beard thinned and my featured softened to what i look
like today. The first pregnancy was rough as you can imagine. Honestly,
you have no idea what it's like. But it's nice to have children now."
Shawn smiled and looked at Claire.
Claire smiled back and reached over and took her husbands hand. "It's
been tough but we're kind of used to it now. Plus it does have it's up
side. Our sex life is incredible and this body is so sensitive and
sensual."
Claire brought her hand up and began massaging the breast on Shawn's side
of their body. Shawn moaned in pleasure but moved her hand away with
their other hand. "That's not fair, you know what that does to me" Shawn
purred.

They both giggled. But suddenly they stopped and looked embarrassed. "Oh
dear, our water just broke," Dr Claire said. "We should call the medical
bay to come and get us."
"I'll call," said Lucas moving towards the phone as another contraction
wracked the Doctors body.
"Gaagh. It was nice to meet you," Shawn moaned. "Sorry to cut this short
but nature calls, as they say."
I just sat there stunned as two medics entered and assisted the Doctors
onto a gurney and wheeled them out of the door and down a corridor.
I turned to Lucas. "That was unbelievable."
Lucas just smiled and motioned for us to leave. "I tried to warn you,
this is an unusual place to work and we have a lot of unique people
here."
I followed him into the hallway. "What exactly do you mean unique?" I
asked.
"We'll we do alot of research and alot of that research is to do with
.... modifying the human body to achieve certain abilities that would not
normally be possible. Sometimes this doesn't alter the overall shape of
the person. For instance I have enhanced muscle structure through-out my
body which gives me my ability but you wouldn't really know to look at me
even if i was in my shorts. But other people in the programme's have
changes which are very noticeable. No-one here is forced to participate,
they can stay working front of house, however usually, in the end, most
people apply to join one of the programme's. Competion is fierce but the
benefits and pay are amazing, even when you consider some of the
programmes leave the volunteer unable to mix in normal society."
"So you mean there are more freaks like the Doctors? And they actually
volunteer to be disfigured?" I asked incredulously.
Lucas suddenly turned on me. "They are not freaks, Mr Rivas. They are
patriots and the work they volunteer of is very important. Also, these
freaks are my friends, I never want to hear you use that word again."
I was taken by surprise by the sudden anger from Lucas. "Hey, sorry. I
didn't mean to be disrespectful. This is just a lot to take in."
"Don't be so quick to judge. You might not think its so bad to volunteer
to be one of the freaks when you see what they offer you in exchange,"
Lucas said as he carried on down the hall.
