A New Model
Belladonna
The grey haired attorney struggled not to grin at the scowl on the face
of the man seated before his desk. While the man had already entered
into his middle age, the look he wore was more befitting of a petulant
teen. It only served to confirm the stories that the man's father had
conveyed to him over the years.
As the gray haired attorney finished reading the will, the man broke his
silence.
"This is fucking bullshit," Red bellowed as his wife's right hand
reached for her forehead. She shook her head while he continued to
bluster with strings of obscenities.
After listening to all she could handle as the attorney and his
stepmother tried to calm Red down, Penny shouted, "Would you just shut
up already?"
Red glared at his wife. She rarely broke rank with him. She was
largely deferential to him over the years, even though she was the one
that paid the household bills because he was too spendthrift and
wasteful to be trusted with the family checkbook. It was obvious to
Penny why her father-in-law had determined that her husband could not be
trusted to run his company, which consisted of five car dealerships in
the region.
Rather than be cowed by his anger, Penny pulled her hand away from her
head and barked, "Sit down!"
Red was struck by his wife's order. It was rare that she ever told him
to do anything. He glared at her again, but he sat down. He felt
something stirring inside him as he crossed his arms and pouted while he
buried his chin into his chest. Penny shook her head at her husband,
recognizing the look on his face as the same one that their daughter had
all too often on hers.
"Are you okay?" the attorney asked Red.
"This will never be okay."
"It's for the best," his stepmother interjected.
Red's eyes darted at the woman he considered to be an interloper who had
come between him and his rightful place as his father's heir apparent.
Red sneered as he shot back, "Of course, you'd say that."
Red's stepmother squinted at him. She knew that he had no respect for
her. He had shown no respect for any woman he ever worked with. That
she had gone from his father's secretary to his second wife after the
death of Red's mother had only served to confirm Red's opinion that
women did not belong in a male workplace. It was why he had insisted
that his wife take a job as a nurse at an OB/GYN's office over a higher
paying job at a prestigious local hospital. Penny went along with her
husband's decision, letting him believe that it was his to make since
she preferred the hours and working conditions of the OB/GYN's office.
He even let himself believe that he was responsible for the part-time
second job Penny took on after Hannah grew old enough to stay home by
herself.
Red collected himself as he asked, "How could my father possibly think
that a secretary would be better at running his business than me?"
Penny stared blankly at her husband before glancing over at Amanda.
They both knew the answer.
Red worked a do nothing job at the company. It was the only job that
his father was comfortable giving him. He showed up, clowned around
with the staff and served as a distraction for the workers who were
tasked with doing the real work in the company's central office that was
located behind the office of the first dealership his father had founded
more than fifty years earlier.
Red stared at his stepmother, looking for answer. Finally, she
inquired, "Isn't it obvious?"
"Really, Red," Penny added, prompting a look of dismay from her husband.
"Read it again, Hale."
Hale nodded at Amanda as he began reading the explanation that Red's
father had dictated to him several months earlier, "Red, although I love
you with all my heart, I must look out for the best interests of my
employees. By coming to work for me over the years, they have each
entrusted me to look out for their livelihoods and families. I bear the
responsibility for making sure their families are fed. This is not a
responsibility that I take lightly and has weighed on me in ways that I
do not believe that you can handle or understand."
Red scowled and shook his head at his father's words, just as he had the
first time he heard them. After a pause for a sip of water, Hale
continued, "You will be fine. It's my duty, however, to ensure that
those that have placed their faith in me will be fine as well.
Accordingly, I'm leaving control and ownership of my company to my wife,
Amanda Garnett, on the condition that my son, Holden, Red, Garnett, is
kept on as a permanent employee of the company with the same salary he
presently enjoys, which will be annually adjusted for inflation. The
position must be a desk job in the company's main office, unless Holden
consents to be moved to a different location."
The repeated words made Penny smile, knowing that their future finances
were secured by the will that her husband hated. The permanent job for
her slothful husband, as well as the inheritance of a million dollars in
cash, would see to that.
The job and the money seemed like a pittance to Red. He wanted it all.
The company his stepmother had been left was worth several times what he
was given.
"I'm going to challenge this!"
Penny stared at her husband before she retorted, "No, you're not."
"Who are you to tell me..."
"Hale read the clause that said you'd lose everything if you
challenged."
"That's horseshit!"
Hale interjected, "No. It's an in terrorem clause. It's perfectly
legal."
"I can't live with this!"
"Yes, you can!" Penny yelled at her husband.
"You can't expect me to sit back and..."
"Yes, I can. We have a daughter we need to look out for. If you
challenge the will and lose, which you will, we lose the inheritance and
you'll lose your job. And who'd have to carry the load for your hissy
fit? Me!"
Red hung his head and slouched down in his seat at his wife's words. He
knew that she was right, even though he did not want to admit it. He
shook his head as he said, "Fine. I'll live with it."
Hale nodded at the defeated looking man before Red, Amanda and Penny
filed out of his office to move on with their lives.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
It did not take long for Red to begin understand the full consequences
of his father's decision. Amanda took the reigns the day the will was
read and began a bottom to top inventory and evaluation of the business
and all of its employees. She had long pushed her husband to do it, but
he was reluctant to make changes even in a changing market.
Red found himself being scrutinized by an evaluator while he sat at his
desk, doing virtually nothing but interfering with other employees as
they were performing their duties. Knowing that the man could not fire
him, Red saw no need to even pretend to work. Despite Amanda's attempts
to get him to work by giving him tasks to handle, Red decided to handle
the work as he had before when his father had attempted to get him to
work over the years. He did nothing to hide the fact that he was doing
nothing more than handing it off to his assistant, Sherry.
The evaluator's review of Red was of no surprise to the office. "Dead
weight" was the two-word conclusion that no one in the office but Red
could disagree with.
With the evaluation done, Red was called into Amanda's office in the
late afternoon. He rolled his eyes as he got to his feet.
Red walked into the office and sat down before his father's old desk
while Amanda watched him enter in silence. The evaluator sat to the
side of the desk that Red believed was rightfully his as he waited for
Amanda to speak to Red.
Amanda flashed him her white smile that was framed by her pink lips.
She brushed her hand through her shoulder length, silver hair that his
father found appealing on her for reasons he could not understand.
While he felt that Amanda was attractive for a woman her age, he always
believed that she should dye her hair to look younger.
He remembered the way she looked when they first met decades earlier
when he was a teenager and she was a woman in her thirties that had
recently divorced. She had lost little of her shapeliness that he was
first attracted to due to her regular workouts. She had far less lines
on her face and beautiful chestnut colored hair then, but what was left
was a striking mature woman.
Amanda leaned across the desk and told Red the conclusions reached by
the evaluator. Red was steamed by the accurate characterization of his
work habits and let out a few obscenities while Amanda tried to calm him
down.
Amanda kept a determined look on her face as she knew that she had to
see it through. She had decided that he had to be let go, but her
husband's will meant that the only way that could be accomplished was by
forcing Red to quit.
The lawyer she had retained to look her husband's will over told her
that the will prohibited none of the indignities that she was going to
force Red to deal with. The only thing the will guaranteed was a desk
job in the main office at the same pay. Nothing else was guaranteed to
the spoiled child she felt had never bothered to attempt to live up to
his potential.
Amanda smiled at her stepson as she said, "Red, I've decided to take
this company in a new direction."
"Oh, great," Red replied, not bothering to conceal his sarcasm since he
felt the company was run fine before.
Amanda tilted her head before she brushed off his words and continued,
"This Company has been known to talk down to female customers, and I
always believed we would do better if we had a more female friendly
sales experience."
"Uh huh...," Red interjected, sure that his father was rolling over in
his grave at that exact moment.
"That's why we've decided to make some changes here. As you know, Bill
is retiring."
Red nodded, knowing that the manager of the dealership that was in front
of their central office had been contemplating retiring for years. It
was Red's father's ill health alone that kept him to stay on out of
loyalty to the dying man.
Amanda smiled as she said, "So, we've decided that this is the perfect
time to test our new model out at one of our dealerships. So, effective
today, we have promoted Linda to manager."
"What?" Red barked. He hated the woman. She was one of the better
salespeople in the company, but Red felt that she was too friendly with
the female buyers and only got sales from men by manipulating them. He
could not even count the number of times he rolled his eyes at Linda's
batting of her eyelashes and crossing of her long legs that were never
covered by anything but hosiery and an above the knee skirt or dress
while she tried to get men to agree to the terms of a sale.
"You're making a big mistake," Red lectured.
Amanda shook her head, enjoying the moment as she reminded him, "Maybe,
but it's mine to make."
Red scowled at the woman who kept up a professional demeanor in the face
of his petulance. He shook his head as he thought, 'Great first choice.
Hire tits for brains.'
Amanda reached over for her phone and called over to Red's secretary.
Red gave his stepmother a curious look before he asked, "Why are you
calling her in?"
"This concerns her too," Amanda replied.
Red shook his head, wondering what Amanda was up to before Sherry
entered the room and sat in the seat beside his. Sherry greeted the
evaluator warmly before he told her about her positive review, which Red
could not help but compare in his head to the one that had given to him.
Amanda smiled at Sherry while she said, "We know that you've been doing
the work we assigned Red, and you did a good job. So, that being said,
we feel that you are the perfect choice to take his position."
"Wow...what? What about the will?" Red countered with a reddening face
and a racing heart.
"You're not being fired," Amanda answered before offering the position
again to Sherry.
Sherry agreed without hesitation while Red tried to process what was
happening. Amanda nodded at her before she turned her attention back to
Red. She could see that he was confused and incensed by the decision.
Red sat in silence rubbing his head and staring at where the edge of her
desk met the carpet of the office. She felt that she had him where she
wanted him as she thought, 'Time to drop the bomb.'
Amanda cleared her throat as she said, "Red, we've decided that you're
more fit for Sherry's old job so, effective immediately, we have
reassigned you to her position."
"Her secretary?" Red asked for confirmation, aghast at the prospect.
Amanda nodded, finding it difficult not to smile. The evaluator nodded
along with her. They had discussed what they expected Red to do. They
were sure that he would be too prideful to take such a demotion. He
already had a million dollars. They figured that he would think it was
enough to last him a few years while he tried to get another job.
Red saw the smug look on the evaluator's face as Sherry smiled and
struggled not to laugh at the thought of evening some scores against her
old boss. Red shook his head, figuring that Amanda was trying to get
him to quit. There was no chance that there was another motive in her
head. He was sure of it.
Red leaned back in his chair and stroked his chin. He decided to call
their bluff, knowing that he would be paid far more than any other
secretary in the company. He nodded his head and said, "I accept your
decision."
Red grinned as the smug look drained off the evaluator's face. Amanda
was taken aback by his decision, but she could not push back against it.
Amanda forced a smile to her face before she replied without enthusiasm,
"Great."
"Is that it?" Red asked while throwing his hands out to the side.
"Well, you are aware of the dress code right?" the evaluator hastily
replied.
"What's wrong with my outfit?" Red asked as he grabbed at his tie and
suit pants.
"That's not acceptable for a secretary," the evaluator replied.
"Why the hell not?"
Amanda answered, "We can't have someone confusing you for one of the
bosses or salesmen."
"Huh?" Red replied, confused by her statement.
"You have to wear something that lets people know that you're a step
below them."
"Namely?" Red retorted, fuming.
"A collard shirt, no tie, slacks and loafers," the evaluator chimed in.
Red gritted his teeth as he nodded at them. Amanda looked for some hint
of him breaking, but she saw none of it. She was dismayed by the
prospect of him hanging around the office as a secretary, but she saw no
other choice, other than paying him to stay home. She was sure that he
had reached the same conclusion.
Amanda forced a smile upon her face as she dismissed Red and Sherry from
her office. Sherry got up first and said, "Come along, Red."
"Yah, yah," Red retorted as he followed behind her.
"Don't yah, yah me," Sherry retorted, enjoying the role of being his
boss for a change.
"What's it to you?"
"You're my secretary. I expect some respect," Sherry retorted, making
sure to drive home their new roles to her misogynistic former boss.
Red was struck by her assertive tone. Only two women had ever used such
a tone to him before, his wife and mother. He nodded his head as he
kept his complaints to himself.
Sherry smiled at his surprisingly docile response while he followed her
to her desk. Unlike his stepmother, Red did not have an office. His
father would not stand for it, believing that his son had not earned the
right to have one. He gave nothing more than a cubicle, but it had
sufficed for Red.
Sherry smiled at him as she ordered him to help her collect her stuff.
Red nodded as she cleaned out her desk with her. He blushed as he saw
his snickering coworkers, who were thrilled to see him being reduced to
working at Sherry's desk.
He wondered if he could keep his promise to himself and stick it out.
He shook his head as he thought about quitting again.
Red collected Sherry's belongings and carried them towards his old desk.
He placed them down before Sherry ripped opened his drawers and pulled
out his belongings.
"Careful with that," Red admonished.
"You can't tell me what to do anymore," Sherry replied, enjoying the
feeling of power she had over him.
"Sorry," Red replied, cowed and slightly aroused by her show of
dominance before she made him place her belongings away in his old desk.
There was no hint of a request to Red. It was an order and one that
excited him before he realized that he was supposed to be the dominant
one. He felt sick to his stomach about his physical response as he
thought it over, trying to make sense of his new feelings.
By the time they finished swapping desks, the workday had come to an end
and Red's head was swimming. He walked through the parking lot and got
into his car, ready to tell his wife all about the day. Red was sure
that she would give him the sympathetic ear that no one at work was
willing to offer him.
Red walked into his home and saw his wife sitting at the kitchen table,
helping their daughter with her homework. Penny turned to her husband
and saw the angered look on his face.
"What's wrong?"
"You wouldn't believe my day," Red growled.
"What happened?" Penny replied as their daughter's eyes moved from her
homework to her father.
"They demoted me."
Penny stared at him in silence as she processed his words before she
retorted, "But the will says they can't. It's a condition..."
"They're still paying me the same thing," Red rejoined, cutting his wife
off as he grabbed a beer from the refrigerator.
"So, they didn't demote you," Penny corrected her husband in response to
his rude tone.
"No. They did!"
"How can they demote you if they didn't cut your pay?"
"They moved me to another position."
"That's called reassignment, dear," Penny retorted.
"They fucking made me Sherry's secretary. How is that not a demotion?"
Red exclaimed.
A smile crept across Penny's face before their daughter broke out into a
fit of laughter.
"What's so funny?" Red shouted at Hannah.
"You're a secretary now?" Hannah asked.
Red scowled at his daughter before Penny responded to her, "Dear,
they're called administrative assistants, now. You're Daddy's an
administrative assistant, if anyone asks."
Red jaw dropped while he glared at his wife. Far from sharing in his
anger, Penny was amused at the fact that her husband had been taken down
a peg since it did not affect their monthly budget.
"Daddy, you shouldn't be drinking that beer. It'll go straight to your
stomach."
"Are you going stand for this?" Red asked his wife.
"Light beer would be better for you," she answered.
Red shook his head before Hannah added, "And get me a coffee would you,
babe? Cream and a little sugar."
"Go to your room," Red barked at his daughter, who sounded far too much
like Sherry for comfort at the moment.
Hannah got to her feet and walked past him, unable to keep from laughing
as she went to her room. Once they heard Hannah slam the door to her
room closed, Penny looked at Red and asked, "What's your problem?"
"What's my problem?" Red asked, incredulous about the question she
asked.
"Yes," Penny retorted in a matter of fact way. Her husband stared
blankly at her, not believing that she was not as incensed as he was.
Penny glared at her husband. She had long ago grown weary of his sense
of entitlement. She blamed his coddling mother for it, but she knew
that his father had not done anything to help push him to maximize his
potential. Red was simply too content getting something for nothing.
Her own background was middle class. Her parents both worked and earned
a decent living. They helped pay for her to go to college, where she
met Red. Her parents pushed her to marry him due to his family's
wealth. She was unsure if he was right for her, but he was naturally
smart and had potential. It was a potential that he never made any
attempt to maximize however.
At times, she had become so frustrated by Red that she had thought about
leaving him. It was only Hannah that kept her from doing it, since she
could not stand the thought of her daughter coming from a broken home.
Red never showed any hint that he understood her frustration with him.
To her, Red seemed to be in a fugue state that only cleared after his
father had passed.
Penny knew that Red was realizing for the first time what people
actually thought of him. While she had seen his best traits, those at
his job never did. Penny saw it as the perfect chance to rid her
husband of his delusions of greatness and bring him down to the real
world. In her mind, a little humiliation might finally make him start
trying to better himself and his family.
"You understand that everyone at work knows that I'm a fucking
secretary, right?" Red asked for clarification.
Penny nodded before she added, "It's probably the best job for you."
"How can you say that?"
"What did you ever do to deserve your job?"
"Do I have to remind you who puts a roof over your head?"
"Honey, I make enough to put a roof over my own head, and it is still
your father that's kicking in the money to cover you," Penny rejoined.
Red grimaced at her words, knowing them to be true. He knew he was a
disappointment to his father. His father had let on many times that he
viewed his only child as a charity case. It was humiliating for Red,
but he had let himself believe that his father was the only one who
thought that way about him. Now, he knew that not only everyone in his
workplace shared the opinion, but even his wife seemed to do so as well.
Penny shook her head at her despairing husband before she called her
daughter out of her room so that she could continue to help her with her
homework. Red cast his eyes down and stalked out of the room as he
walked into the living room.
Red turned on the television and took a sip of his beer that tasted far
bitterer than he remembered the first sip being. Red sighed as his mind
wandered from the game he put on. The more he thought about, the more
like a failure he felt he was.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Red pulled into the parking lot of the dealership the next morning. His
eyes were immediately drawn to Linda. She was walking the lot with a
subordinate. From the waist up she seemed normal. The pants on her
legs were a strange sight. Unlike all other girls that worked for the
company, he could never remember seeing Linda wear pants in her life.
He figured that she was making a statement as she began her first full
day as a manager.
Linda's manner of dress made Red shake his head while he pulled towards
the back office. He stopped before pulling into his customary spot.
He glared at Sherry's name, which had already been painted over his.
"Unbelievable," Red muttered as he pulled into an available spot in a
row across a drive aisle from the building.
Red stepped out of the car feeling that he was dressed more akin to a
college intern than a middle-aged professional. He strolled towards the
door in his khaki pants, brown loafers and a blue-collared polo shirt.
After stepping inside, Red made his way to his desk, oblivious to the
glares he was receiving from his former subordinates. While Sherry had
taken the worst of him, they had each been forced to pickup the slack
for him on more occasions than they could remember. While they wished
that they could have been rid of him entirely, seeing him reduced to a
secretary was viewed by many as a nice consolation prize. The goal that
had occupied Amanda's mind crossed many of her employees as well. They
were determined to make sure that Red quit.
Sherry called out to Red as he began to sit down at his new desk. Red
responded by shouting back at her, "Yes, Sherry?"
Sherry called him into her cubicle. Red gave her a smile before she
scolded him for yelling across the office to her. Red was perplexed by
her response given that he had only done what she had just done. He
wanted to yell back at her, but he was flustered by the feeling of his
manhood surging from being reprimanded.
After telling him to get her coffee, Red grabbed her cup. Without
thinking, he asked how she liked her coffee.
Sherry was stunned by Red's deferential reaction. She told him what she
wanted before Red walked out of the room to make her coffee.
Red tried to make his erection go down as he walked through the office
adjusting his pants. His eyes darted from side to side. He blushed at
everyone that glanced at him, wondering if they could see the erection
through his pants.
'God, please go down,' Red pleaded in his head. Despite his efforts to
think about things he found unattractive, he began to fixate on why his
body had reacted the way it did. He was already in the kitchenette
before he realized that he was doing exactly what Sherry had ordered him
to do.
Red's manhood swelled at the realization, which only served to alarm him
further. Red shook his head as he finished making Sherry her cup of
coffee, wondering, 'What the fuck is wrong with me?'
Red heard snickers as he walked through the office carrying Sherry's
coffee cup. There was no disguising it. Her name was spelled in bold
letters on two sides of the cup to eliminate any chance of mistaking
whose cup it was. The snickers only served to keep Red's manhood
hardened and his cheeks red.
Sherry grinned at his flustered face while Red placed the cup down on
her desk. As the cup touched her desk, she gave him another order.
Red swallowed hard, nodding in response before he went about doing it.
Red's deference to Sherry was not lost on anyone in the office. They
were surprised by his sudden turn and tried to poke him, hoping that he
would explode and quit.
Despite their best efforts, Red's overall sexual arousal at doing things
that he considered beneath him made every slight exciting to him. Red
was disturbed by it, but he could not help himself despite his best
efforts to try to hate what he was doing.
He went home to his wife and complained about his day at work. Penny
did not want to hear it, but Red explained that he was going to keep
showing up out of spite.
"Whatever," Penny replied.
The next few weeks at work continued like the first day. Red showed up
and did his job to a higher level than any of his coworkers thought was
possible. Sherry was amused by it and kidded Amanda that his father
should have made him a secretary from the start.
"His father wouldn't have gone for it," Amanda countered.
"Well, obviously, Father didn't know best," Sherry replied.
After his sixth week as a secretary, news started making its way around
the office that the company had settled a lawsuit brought by an employee
of one of its dealerships for discrimination against being
transgendered.
The company had settled the case. Among the settlement terms, the
company agreed to let any person select the gender that they would
associate with for purposes of dress code compliance.
Red laughed as he heard the news, picturing himself dressed like one of
the female secretaries. He stared down at his legs and pictured them
covered by stockings and a skirt. He laughed at the image in his head
that seemed to grow realer the more he contemplated it. Red squirmed as
he fixated on his feet and imagined heels on them instead of his
loafers.
The more he thought about it, the more arousing the concept became. He
had never worn a piece of women's clothing in his life, but he could see
himself doing it at that moment. He shook his head, wondering how he
could possibly see the appeal.
He brushed off the idea until one of the other secretaries joked about
it with him. Red smiled as she kidded him that he could finally dress
the part.
"You'd be screwing with the bosses big time if you did," another girl
noted with the laugh.
"It's not like they could fire you," another joked. Red laughed before
he began to think over what the girls had said.
He knew that the company could not discriminate against him, let alone
exploit him over it, due to the fear of another lawsuit. Red grinned as
he thought, 'What the worse they could do to me?'
Red could not think of a lowlier desk job position that they could
reassign him to. While he was enjoying his time there, he hoped that he
could free himself of it and get back into a more masculine train of
thought. He was already finding himself openly deferring to his wife at
home more than he could ever imagine letting himself do in the past.
Red hoped that going through with it would result in a shock to his
system that would clear away all the submissive fantasies that were
starting to take over his life.
Red was sure that Amanda would never let him work in drag in the office.
It would be too much a distraction. Red smirked at the thought and
decided that he would talk it over with his wife when he got home.
That evening, Red walked into his home and closed the front door behind
him. He heard the television on and approached the living room as he
felt butterflies in his stomach.
He stared at his wife before she noticed him and said, "Hi, honey. How
was your day?"
"Interesting," Red replied slowly.
Penny turned off the television and fixed her gaze on him, sure that he
had endured a new humiliation. Penny replied, "Go on."
"Some of the girls were talking..."
"About," Penny responded, wanting her husband to cut to the chase.
"There was this lawsuit against the company by a guy who wants to be a
girl."
"Okay," Penny replied as she raised her eyebrows, unsure how that was of
any relevance to their life.
"Is Hannah here?" Red asked as he turned his head over his shoulder.
"No. She's at Brooke's house."
"Oh. Good. Good. Um...I was thinking that...I shouldn't even say that
I was thinking. Some of the girls were thinking that...you know...He
won the right for guys and girls to dress like girls and guys so...maybe
I should start showing up as one of the girls."
Penny's mouth opened slightly. Her jaw continued to fall further before
Red hurried to add, "Think about it. Amanda might let me go if I
started showing up dressed like a girl. It would too big of a problem
for her to deal with. She'd pay me to stay home."
Penny gazed at her husband in stunned silence while her husband seemed
to confirm that his initial words were not a passing joke. She shook
her head and said, "Which girls' idea was this?"
"None, it was mine."
"But you said."
"One of the girls was joking that I should do it. She said what can
Amanda really do to me if I came out?"
"Came out?" Penny shrieked.
"Not for real. You know me, baby. I'm all man," Red replied, trying to
save face.
"Sure," Penny responded, slightly dazed by her husband's thought
process.
"No. Seriously think about it. What can she do to me? She already
gave me the worst job in the office. I could be getting paid to stay
home..."
"Stay home and what?"
"What?"
"What are you going to do around the house?"
"I'll find some projects..."
"Are you going to start doing the laundry, making dinner...?"
"No. No. That's chick stuff."
"You're the one talking about dressing up like a chick..."
"That's just to fool Amanda."
"I'm sure she'll be fooled," Penny replied, laughing as she thought over
her husband's idea. At first, she was put off by it, but the more he
pushed, the more she saw another side to it. She wondered if he would
really go through with it.
"You know I don't really want to be a girl," Red explained.
"No. You just want to be a pampered housewife," Penny teased.
"I'm not into that girly shit," Red countered.
"You will be."
Red gave her a confused look before Penny explained, "If I'm going to
work five days a week, and you're at home, you're taking care of the
house. End of story."
"But that's women's work."
"You're the one who wants to get into skirts," Penny pushed to see if
her husband would push back.
Red was stunned by her directness. He nodded as she said, "Okay. If
this works, I'll do it."
Penny went silent in response to his words. She was borderline amused
by the ridiculous lengths Red was claiming he would go to get out of
work.
Penny crossed her legs and thought to herself, 'Let's see how far I can
take this.'
"Okay," Penny said, "I'm in."
"You are?" Red replied, giving her a tenuous glance.
"Sure, but we have to get Hannah on board with it."
"Wait? No! I don't want her to know about this."
"Honey, if you're going to work in a dress, she's going to think
something is up," Penny replied with a serious expression.
Red blushed at the thought of his daughter seeing him in girls'
clothing. He shook his head and said, "I can't do that."
Penny smiled as she said, "No. It'll be fine. We've just got to ease
her into this. I bet she'll love to do your makeup."
Red started to shake at the thought as his wife got up and said, "We've
got to get you a whole new wardrobe too."
"Why? It won't go more than a few days, right?" Red asked in a
quivering tone.
"You tell me. You've known your stepmother a lot longer than I have."
"She'll break. She'll break quick."
"Okay. So, we'll get you some outfits, and if she gives in right away,
we'll take them back."
"Right," Red responded in a weak tone.
"Did you pickup anything on the way home?"
"I thought you were making dinner."
"I meant an outfit. You don't just have a dress hanging around here, or
do you?" Penny asked with raised eyebrows.
Red blushed as she shook his head at his wife's insinuation. Penny
grinned as she replied, "Let's go shopping."
"Right now?"
"You've got to go sometime."
"Like this?" Red said as he grabbed his polo shirt.
"You said you don't have anything pretty to wear," Penny teased.
"Maybe I can just order something online. I can't go shopping."
"You can't go shopping for girls clothing? Come on, you're going to be
wearing them to work, you big pussy. What's the problem with shopping?"
Penny chided.
Red shot his wife an angry look before she responded, "Don't be such a
wuss!"
"But I can't try on anything like this..."
Penny froze. She put her finger to her lips and said, "You know what?
I guess not."
"You see...."
"Of course. I'll get you something for tomorrow. Then, we can go out
after you come home and get you the rest of your girly wardrobe.
Assuming, of course, that Amanda doesn't send your pretty ass back home
earlier."
"She will. She has to," Red replied, trying to sound more certain of
it.
"Okay. I'm going to hit the restroom, then I'll go and get you
something pretty. Do you have any requests?"
Red blushed. While he knew what he liked on a girl, he was not going to
say what he wanted to wear as one. Red was certain that if he described
the outfit he pictured on himself that day, Penny would never be able to
look at him the same way again. He shook his head and said, "No.
You're the chick you tell me what I should do."
"The Golden Rule to live by," Penny said as she got up and kissed him on
the cheek.
Red stared at her in silence while she walked past him. She stopped off
in the bathroom for a few minutes. After finishing washing her hands,
Penny stepped out of the bathroom and grabbed her purse.
Before she left the house, she turned and looked at her dazed looking
husband. Red could not believe that she was on board with it. With
that being the case, he felt that he had to go through with it now.
Penny smiled and said, "Be sure to break the news to Hannah when she
gets home. I don't want her finding out when we're plucking your
eyebrows."
Red's stomach sank as he thought over her words. Penny pulled the door
open and stepped outside, enjoying watching her humbled husband squirm.
As his wife closed the door behind her, Red moved towards the kitchen,
clutching his head. He wanted to have a moment to think, but he heard
his daughter walking through the front door not long after he took a
seat at the table.
"Hi, Daddy," Hannah said as she walked over and kissed him on the cheek.
She noticed his unease as her lips left his cheek. She gave him a
concerned look and asked, "What's wrong?"
"I need to tell you something," Red said after pause.
"Oh, God. Where's Mom?"
"She's out at the store," Red responded, trying to put his daughter at
ease.
"Oh, okay," Hannah replied before Red asked her to take a seat.
"What's going on?" Hannah inquired as she sat down.
"I've been going through some changes at work."
"Oh, I know," Hannah replied with a smile and a brief giggle.
Red shook his head, knowing how much she enjoyed that he was, now,
answering to a woman at work.
Red turned his attention back to his daughter as he said, "Some of the
girls were talking about me looking more the part."
Hannah gave him a curious look before she began to snicker. Red gazed
at his daughter for a moment before he inquired, "What's so funny?"
"I was just thinking about you walking around in high heels and skirts
and asking Sherry if you could get her anything...you know, like, I'll
do anything for you Miss Sherry," Hannah answered with a laugh.
Red was flustered by her response. He turned red as the thought made
his manhood start to stir. Red shook his head and said, "It won't be
anything like that."
"What won't be?" Hannah asked, confused by what her father seemed to be
insinuating.
"I'm not doing it because I like it," Red responded, knowing that his
response was only partially a lie.
"Doing what?" Hannah replied before her eyes widened, realizing that her
joke was on point.
"Are you kidding me?" Hannah yelled before she began to laugh.
"It's not that funny."
Hannah shook her head, differing from her father's opinion. Red glared
at her as he explained, "I'm only doing it to get transferred out of the
office."
"Why would Grandma Amanda do that?"
Red groused at what his daughter always called his stepmother. It had
been his father that had insisted on it. He shook his head before he
answered, "Because I'm going to be too much of a distraction."
"Oh, you're going to be flirting with all the boys," Hannah replied.
Red turned beet red as she yelled, "Would you stop that? This is a
serious matter!"
Hannah composed herself for a moment as she thought about what he had
said. Her eyes widened again. She put her hands over her mouth for a
second before she said, "OMG! You want to be a girl."
"What? No! That's not it all."
"Holy shit. I'm like a Kardashian," Hannah shrieked.
"You're not like any one of the Kardashians," Red rejoined, angry at his
excited daughter's insinuation.
"Can we get on television for this?"
"No! Damn it! This isn't some publicity stunt."
"But isn't the dad a woman now."
"Well...sort of."
"So, it wasn't a stunt?"
"We're not a reality television family," Red countered.
"This would be great. Come on, you've got to try to get into Bruce's
'girlfriends' group," Hannah replied, giggling as she put air quotes
around the word 'girlfriends.'
"It's not going to happen. Stop talking about it," Red retorted,
horrified by where the conversation had gone.
"Oh, come on. Do it for me, Daddy or Mommy Daddy, whatever..."
"I'm still Daddy. Okay? Call me Daddy, Dad, Pops, Father Dearest,
anything but Mommy Daddy."
Hannah composed herself as she struggled not to laugh at her father's
flustered response. She took out her books from her backpack and asked
if he could help her with her homework.
"Happily," Red replied, relieved to have the subject changed.
Red helped his daughter with her math and biology homework before he
heard his wife come into the home. Red's eyes darted to the bag in her
hands.
Hannah smiled at her mother and said loudly, "Hi, Mom."
"Hi, baby," Penny said as she bent over and kissed her daughter.
"What's in the bag?" Hannah inquired with a grin.
"Oh, this? It's just something for your father," Penny answered, unsure
if her husband had told her his plan.
"Is it something pretty?" Hannah cracked.
Penny smiled at her daughter. She knew that her husband had told her
what he planned to do. Accordingly, she saw no reason to leave him any
out.
"You tell me?" Penny replied as she removed the dress from the bag.
"Wow, that's so cute," Hannah said as she looked over the above the knee
dress.
"Your Daddy's going to look so pretty in it," Penny replied to make her
husband squirm.
"He'll be the prettiest Daddy in the whole world," Hannah squealed as
she hugged him.
Red cleared his throat, but could not formulate a response to his wife
and daughter. Penny stared down at her daughter and asked, "How are you
coming with your homework?"
"We're almost done," she replied.
"Okay. I'll start dinner while you two wrap things up," Penny responded
while she went to put the dress away.
Hannah nodded before she went back to doing her schoolwork as Penny
started to cook dinner for them. Once Hannah finished her schoolwork,
she walked over to her mother and started to help her with dinner.
They chatted a little while Red looked on, uncomfortable about what they
were talking about. After a few minutes, Penny looked over at her
husband and said, "Red, be a dear, and set the table, would you?"
"Me?" Red asked.
"You can't get away with calling it women's work anymore, Daddy."
"If you want to be a woman, you've got to walk the walk," Penny
seconded.
"I'm only doing this at work," Red replied.
"Sure, Daddy," Hannah replied in a disbelieving tone, prompting Red to
blush.
"Get moving, girl," Penny barked before Red got to his feet.
He blushed as his wife and daughter laughed a little at his deferential
response to her loud voice. He shook his head as he looked at them and
said, "This is a one time thing."
"Sure, Daddy," Hannah said again with a nod and a wink.
"It'll just be until you stop being a girl," Penny added.
"I'm not a girl," Red replied to his wife while he carried the dishes,
silverware and napkins over to the table, his manhood enlarging as he
did so.
Red set the table as his wife had many times before over the years. He
took a seat as his wife and daughter brought over the food and placed it
on the table. The three talked about Hannah's day at school and Penny's
day at work before they finished eating.
As Penny put down her fork, she turned to her daughter and asked,
"Hannah, can you clean the dishes? I want to get Daddy prepped for
tomorrow."
"Oh, come on. You've got to let me help."
"You will. You will. We're going to do this as a family, but I've got
to get his body ready for it."
"Ew...," Hannah replied while she walked away from the table with her
dish in her hand.
Penny told Red to follow him. Red's mind raced as he followed behind
her. She led him into the master bathroom and told him to take off his
clothes.
Red stripped before his wife without any hesitation. He got into the
shower at her insistence before he turned the water on.
Penny smiled as she reached into the shower and handed Red her shaving
gel. Red looked at her before Penny smiled and said, "Shave it all."
"All?" Red asked as he clutched bottle.
"All," Penny replied with a smile before she walked away from the
shower.
Red shook his head as followed the directions on the bottom and put the
shaving gel on his legs before he dragged his wife's pink razor across
his legs. The matted hair took a moment to clean out of the multiple
razor blades before he was able to run them across his legs again.
The process took far longer than he anticipated before he was able to
move onto shaving his chest. The smooth chest and stomach that emerged
looked and felt weird to him. Red finished with his armpits, leaving
only his pubic hair beneath his head.
Once he finished toweling off, Penny walked back into the bathroom to
hand him a bottle of lotion. Red gave the flowery smelling bottle an
awkward glance before he asked, "What's this for?"
"To help your skin."
"This isn't forever," Red retorted.
"It's for long enough," Penny countered before she told him to put on
the lotion.
"Or what, I get the hose again?" Red rejoined.
"You know I don't have to help you," Penny retorted.
"I'm sorry. I know you're just trying to help."
"That's right. Now, stop giving me a hard time. I already have one
girl in this house giving me lip."
Red nodded in response as he rubbed the lotion onto his hairless skin.
His manhood began to engorge as he smelt the feminine smell around him.
Once he finished, Red washed his hands and walked into his bedroom.
Red came to a stop as he saw the outfit his wife had purchased for him
laid out on the bed. Penny smiled at his stunned look. She knew that
he had reached the point where he was at the precipice of no return.
Once he was exposed to her en femme, they were both sure that she would
never look at him the same.
He struggled to get the nerve to move towards the bed. Penny made the
first move as she reached down and stood back up holding up a pair of a
teal cotton panties.
She tossed them at Red and told him to put them on. The soft feeling of
the panties in his hands made him aroused. He dropped his towel and
showed off his enlarged manhood to his wife. Choosing to ignore it,
Penny stared into his eyes as she watched him pull the panties up his
legs. Red's clear enjoyment of the feeling showed on his face.
"How do you feel?" Penny asked.
"Weird," Red lied.
"I think your little boner says differently."
"It's the feeling!"
"Uh...huh...."
"No, seriously...," Red began to protest before Penny held a bra out.
Penny made Red put his arms through it before she hooked it behind his
back.
After stuffing the bra, Penny rolled down a pair of tights and told Red
to follow her towards the bed. Penny had Red sit down the edge of the
bed before she knelled at his feet.
"I like where this going," Red cracked.
"Just put your feet in the damn tights," Penny shot back as she held the
tights open. Red recoiled from her shout before he put his toes to the
seams of the tights.
Red's manhood swelled again as the tights caressed his smooth legs as
Penny slowly moved the nylon up them. Red moaned under his breath, "Oh,
my God."
Penny smirked at Red and said in a teasing tone, "Is it just the feeling
again, right?"
"Uh...yes...totally," Red replied, trying to save face, before his wife
clasped his member through his panties.
"What are you doing?" Red shrieked.
Penny's hot breath warmed his manhood through the panties. Red face
went flush as his wife stared at his flustered expression. She grinned
as she said, "I bet you wish you were in my shoes."
"Why would I..."
"So, you could take this big dick down your..."
"Woo...I'm not gay."
"A girl giving a BJ to her boy isn't gay..."
"But I'm not a girl."
"Could have fooled me," Penny retorted with a laugh as she let go of his
manhood and stood up.
Red gave her a pleading look to finish what she had started with him.
Penny smirked as she handed the dress to Red, wanting to leave him as
sexually frustrated as he had left her so many times over the years.
"Put it on," she ordered.
Red nodded as he pulled the faux wrap dress over his head before his
wife pulled at the ruching at the back neckline and waist. As Red
stared down at the black dress, he was amazed how the curve hugging knit
dress felt.
With the three-quarter sleeved dress on, Penny decided to finish his
outfit with a pair of two-inch high block heels. Red cringed at the
sight.
Penny smiled at his expression before she joked, "I know you were hoping
for something a little more strappy and sexy."
"No!"
"Don't worry, you'll work your way up to stilettos, like a big girl."
"No, I won't. This is just going to be for a few days tops."
"Right," Penny replied slowly before she had Red cram his feet into the
slightly too tight black shoes. Penny shook her head as she took in his
appearance before she called out to her daughter.
"What are you doing?" Red asked with evident alarm.
"I told you that we're doing this as family."
"You couldn't do my makeup first."
"I've been training Hannah for this for years."
"For this?" Red asked as he pointed at his face.
"Doing makeup," Penny clarified. It was a skill that Red knew that his
wife wanted to impart on her daughter. When he had first met Penny, she
was working as a licensed beautician to help pay her way through nursing
school.
Red felt that her skills made Penny look beautiful, while his father was
impressed by her work ethic. He always hoped that it would rub off on
Red, but he died knowing that it never did.
"Yes, Mom," Hannah responded to her mother belatedly as she burst
through the door of her parents' room.
Hannah burst out into laughter as she caught a glimpse of her father.
Red covered his face with his hands, trying to conceal his blushing from
her. Penny grinned at their responses before she took her daughter to
task and told her to help with his makeover.
"I never thought I'd get to do this," Hannah squealed as she followed
her father and mother into their bathroom.
"I think I offered this before," Hannah added as Red sat down on the
toilet bowl lid in accordance with Penny's instructions.
"But Daddy said no."
"It was an act," Hannah retorted with a laugh.
"It wasn't an act," Red rejoined.
Penny smiled at her daughter, enjoying the way that they were teaming up
to make Red squirm. She felt that it was justifiable payback for the
way that Red and his daughter had shared jokes at her expense over the
years.
Penny took out the foundation she had picked out for Red and started
applying it. Once she finished, she asked her daughter to add powder to
his face.
Hannah joked with her mother as she put it on. Red cringed at their
jokes which made his wife chide him for moving while Hannah was adding
makeup to his face.
"Sorry," Red replied
Hannah moved onto his eyes adding black eyeliner around each eyes before
Penny added eye shadow to his eyelids. Hannah followed by applying
multiple layers of mascara to his eyelashes.
"Daddy has pretty eyes," Hannah said to her mother.
"That's what I first noticed about him," Penny admitted.
"Really?" Red asked.
"You didn't know that," Hannah asked.
"I've only told him three dozen times," Penny answered, shaking her head
before she added blush to his cheeks and took hold of her lipstick and
coated his lips.
After they finished with his makeup, they started to style his long
hair. Hannah smiled at her mother as they brushed it. She could see
her father enjoying the feeling of his hair being brushed before she
said, "What do you think about a permanent wave, Daddy?"
"Permanent?"
"It's just a word," Penny chided.
"I don't think so," Red countered.
"I think it would look good on you," Penny replied.
"It so would," Hannah added.
Red glared at the both of them as they continued to brush and style his
hair before Penny stepped out of the room to retrieve a gold necklace
and fastened it around his neck. She smiled at the effect and said
"We've got to get his ears pierced."
"I was thinking the same thing," Hannah responded.
"Not happening."
"Not yet," Penny retorted.
"Not ever," Red rejoined.
"We'll see," Penny said as she helped Red to his feet.
Penny pointed Red towards the mirror. He was stunned by how convincing
a woman he made. He was not a woman he would give a second look at, but
it was a face he could see a woman having. The girls read his
distressed look and laughed before Hannah joked, "You're right, Daddy.
You're not like, Bruce. You're way prettier."
"And Bruce had surgery," Penny added.
"Could you imagine how pretty Daddy would be if he had the facial
feminization surgery?"
"It's not going to happen," Red retorted.
"Daddy would be a very pretty girl," Penny noted as she continued to
brush his hair.
"A little collagen in his lips would make them pop," Hannah said as Red
began to wonder what he would look like with it.
"That's enough," Red then countered as he shook his head, not wanting to
hear anymore as his wife and daughter snickered about him.
"Daddy's right. He needs to go into the living room and practicing
walking in his heels. We don't want him making a fool of himself
tomorrow," Penny replied barely able to keep from laughing as she said
the words.
"I'll take him," Hannah offered as she grabbed her father by the hand
and led him out of the room, feeling as though he was under her thumb
for the first time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, after waking up, showering and get dressed with his
wife's help, Penny left Red in the care of his daughter for his makeup
and hair. Penny kissed her husband goodbye and said, "Don't worry.
You're in good hands."
Red nodded as Hannah thanked her mother for the vote of confidence in
her. Red knew that his wife was right. He had watched his daughter
apprentice for Penny for far too long to not realize that she had talent
with makeup. Still, it was something that he hoped she would not have
to use to make money on as her mother did a few times a month for extra
spending money.
Shortly after Penny left for work, Hannah went about doing her father's
makeup. Red sat down on the toilet seat again and let his daughter
start to do his makeup as she had the night before. Hannah smiled as
she added the colors to his face.
"You know. You really do look good, Daddy, at least for a guy," Hannah
said with a smile.
"Where do you think you get it from?" Red retorted with a grin as he put
his hands on his hips.
"Oh, I got it from my Mom."
"That was to your benefit."
"Oh, I know it," Hannah replied.
"So, you don't think I'm pretty?" Red asked with a mock pout.
"Not as pretty as Mom."
"Okay, I'm fine with that."
"Most men would be," Hannah rejoined as she applied his lipstick.
Once she finished, she reminded Red to smack his lips together. Red did
as he was told before he asked about a boy she had been seeing.
"I'm totally over him."
"Really?"
"He's was such a little freak."
"Why?"
"He's just a jackass."
"Any reason?"
"No. He's just feels the need to be one," Hannah replied with a smile
before she turned her attention to his hair.
"Did he try anything? I'll kick his ass," Red responded, growing louder
as his protective instincts took over.
Hannah laughed at him and said, "You won't be kicking anybody's ass in
this dress. It's too pretty for fighting."
"I'm serious," Red replied before Hannah hugged him and told him that
the guy did not try anything inappropriate.
As Red calmed down, she began to style his hair before Red asked, "So,
are you seeing anybody else?"
"Daddy?" Hannah replied as she slapped his shoulder.
"I just want to know."
"Well, I guess you're really not going to go around kicking their asses
in that dress, right?"
"Oh, no," Red replied, shaking his head and blushing.
Hannah smiled at his response before she said, "I've been hanging around
Abby's brother."
"I thought you didn't like Abby."
"No. We're over that."
"Oh, good."
"Yah, we hate Felicity, now."
"Is this a bonding exercise?" Red inquired with a half smirk.
"No. She's a backstabbing bitch."
"To both of you?"
"Yup."
"What a bitch!"
"Totes."
Red smiled at the small talk his daughter was making with him. She was
far more open about her personal life than he remembered her being with
him. He enjoyed feeling closer to her before she finished with his
hair.
Red thanked his daughter with a kiss on the cheek.
"Uh...Daddy," Hannah moaned as she wiped his lipstick off her cheek
before she freshened his lipstick up for him.
"Sorry," Red replied after smacking his lips.
"It's okay. You're still learning," Hannah said as she hugged him
before he walked out of the bathroom with her. Hannah finished getting
ready for school while Red took hold of his pocketbook and stepped into
a pair of his sneakers.
"You're not wearing those are you?" Hannah shouted. "We spent too much
time last night..."
"No," Red replied to his high-pitched daughter before adding "But I'm
certainly not driving in these," as he held up his heels.
"We've got to get you some cute ballet flats," Hannah responded with a
nod.
"It's not going to be for that long," Red reminded his daughter, trying
to convince himself of the same thing.
Hannah shrugged at her father before she stepped out of the home. Red
stared at the door feeling apprehensive about the exposure he was going
to receive by standing outside.
He stepped out of the door of the home and looked to see if the world
around him stopped. Everything but the sensations around his body felt
normal to him as he moved towards the car. He opened the car doors and
put his bag and shoes in the back before he got in.
"Daddy, swing your legs into together," Hannah said as Red closed the
car door.
"What?"
"You put one leg in before the other. If you do that when you get out,
you're going to show everyone what's up your dress."
Red blushed at the thought before he thanked his daughter as he started
the car. As Red began to drive down the street, his daughter started to
talk about school. Red listened to what she had to say before they
reached the school.
Hannah leaned over and gave her dad a kiss on the cheek before she got
out and moved toward the schoolhouse doors. Red smiled at her for a
second before he remembered his feminized state and decided to get out
of there before anyone recognized him.
Red wondered if Hannah's friends would tease her if they found out about
him. He though it was impossible for them not to. He wondered how they
could possibly understand what he was pretending to be.
The closer Red got to the office, the more nervous he grew. Red thought
about pulling over and calling in sick, but he knew that his wife and
daughter would be upset for stopping short after what they had done for
him.
Red pulled into the dealership parking lot and drove along the side of
the building. No one was in the parking lot as he drove through it. He
parked in the general parking area, facing the empty spot that had once
been reserved for him.
After taking a few deep breaths, Red reached over for his heels. He
slipped off his sneakers and placed the shoes on before he opened the
car door. He swung his legs out together as his daughter told him to
do.
Red slowly stood up, balancing himself on the car as he did so. The
leather purse strap felt strange on his shoulder blade as he walked
towards the building that his father had renovated a few years prior to
this death.
Despite the renovations, the blacktop was already uneven by the door.
It was a fact that Red forgot as he nearly stumbled to the ground. He
caught himself before he stepped up onto the concrete sidewalk that
surrounded the building's edge.
He forced a smile to his face as he pulled open the back door. The five
gold bangles his daughter had leant him clinked together as he moved his
arm down upon walking through the doorway.
With his end game in mind, Red kept the forced smile on his face while
he walked through the office. The first person to notice him wondered
who he was until he made the connection. He gawked at Red in silence.
Red noticed and gave the man a slight wave before he continued through
the office attracting more stares.
By the time Red reached his desk, he was already hearing the murmuring
of his coworkers over his appearance. Some wanted to approach him, but
they were not sure what do under the circumstances. The recent lawsuit
against the company had made each of them terrified of saying the wrong
thing.
As his boss, Sherry was nominated by her coworkers and subordinates to
reach out to Red. Sherry took a few deep breaths as she tried to keep a
straight face while she approached him.
"Uh...Red?" Sherry said to draw his attention from the computer.
"Yes, Sherry," Red replied in a chipper tone that threw her.
"Why...No...Yes...Why are you wearing that?" Sherry inquired, feeling
awkward about having to ask the question.
"This?" Red asked as he turned his chair towards her and clutched at the
hem of his dress that was hanging over his crossed legs."
"Yah...that," Sherry answered slowly with a few nods of her head.
Red steeled himself as he smiled and said, "I thought it was time for me
to come out."
"Out?"
Red nodded.
"So...you're gay."
"No!"
"Then what?" Sherry countered his angered response.
"I'm a transsexual."
Sherry stared at Red. She was silent for a few seconds before she
mustered a response, "Okay."
"I've come to accept that this is the real me. I hope you can, and we
all can, be adults about this."
"Are you screwing with m?" Sherry replied before she saw the company's
Human Resources' director pantomiming to stop.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Red replied, cocking his head and
placing his hands on his hips.
"I'm sorry, Red..."
"Please do not call me Red anymore. My name is Ginger," Red announced.
"Okay...okay...Ginger," Sherry replied, trying to diffuse the situation
as Red's stunned coworkers looked on in awkward silence.
"Thank you," Red responded.
"No problem. So...are you going to dress like every day?"
"Is there anything wrong with that?" Red retorted.
"Well...no...no...no not at all," Sherry replied, following the
nonverbal lead of the Human Resources director.
"I should think not. I'm a woman. Our dress code clearly states that a
woman can wear a skirt or dress if she wants."
"Right," Sherry responded with a nod.
"And I'm every bit the woman that you are, right?" Red added.
Sherry stared at him in silence before she nodded, unable to agree
audibly.
"So, there's no problem if you or me show tomorrow in same dress?" Red
asked, enjoying seeing her squirm.
"Uh...huh," Sherry responded, unhappy that Red was lumping her together
with himself.
Red cupped his hands over his right knee as he asked, "Now, is there
anything I can do for you, Sherry?"
"Not now," Sherry replied, unable to think clearly as she backed away
from him. She backed into a garbage can of another secretary and caught
herself on the woman's desk.
"Sorry," Sherry apologized to the girl as she moved towards her cubicle.
Red smiled as he shot a quick glance at the murmuring group of his
coworkers. He re-crossed his legs at the ankles while he logged onto
his computer and began looking over his emails.
Soon after he started responding to them, Amanda walked into the office
and could sense an unusual amount of buzzing around the office. She
walked over to one of her employees and asked, "What's going on?"
"That," the girl replied as she pointed at Red.
"What the fuck?" Amanda exclaimed in a low voice before she moved
quickly towards Red.
"Uh...Red," Amanda said as she looked down at him.
Red pulled his eyes away from the computer screen and said, "Yes,
Amanda."
"Can I have a word?"
"Sure, and please call me, Ginger" Red responded as he got up.
As he did so, Amanda caught a glimpse of his above the knee hemline and
two inch high, block heels. Amanda gawked at Red while he strolled past
her and into her office. Amanda closed the door behind her as Red took
a seat.
She turned her eyes towards Red and said, "What is this about?"
"I'm just coming out as my true self," Red replied while he crossed one
leg over the other at the knee. He interlocked his fingers and pushed
his hands away from his body and felt his member surge at how girly he
felt doing it.
Red grinned at his stepmother's uneasy expression. She was a
conservative woman and clearly dismayed about seeing a man in a dress.
"So, all of the sudden, you're a woman," Amanda inquired as she moved
behind her desk and took a seat.
"That's right, Amanda."
"And when, exactly, did you figure this out?"
"I've always known. I just couldn't be me while Daddy was alive," Red
lied, figuring that it was the right answer.
