Then I noticed there were a few more that I knew, each one had been a Tracker Scout, and graduated early to attend the IGP Academy on Terrellia Four. But what were the new rope braids they wore over their left shoulder? The Terrellian Academy wore Emerald Green and Gold Braids, the colors of Terrellia. Lyconia wore Ruby Red and Gold braids. But these were a mix of every color of the rainbow. "Malissa," I was standing in the line awaiting my own turn when Commander Marsh approached with a Delphinian wearing the rank of a Vice commander and the same multi-colored braid. There's a ship about to crash," she was yelling as people suddenly began following directions. Cadets throwing open emergency exits helping people directing them where to go for safety. The crashing ship growing larger as things began to fall from it. Nearly everyone was outside now, Donnie helping to usher the last few outside when the roof caved in under the weight of the Skecksies ship. The impact sending him sprawling to the floor as the nose plowed up the center of the dance floor then crashed through the wall before it stopped. "First squad, find any survivors," he heard Erika directing, then the clash of steel. The deafening boom of blasters as the fight began around them. "No get them out of here, have the spiders jump everyone to safety," he heard Maleeza. "I have to find my Daddy." A slowly stood up shaking off the last of his shock, then suddenly there was a Skecksies in front of him. It swung an arm at him and he grabbed hold of it, pushing it away his hand grabbing at something, anything to use for a weapon. He had to keep it away from the head table near the stage. His other hand gripped the wrist trying to bring up the blast rifle and the real struggle began as his adrenaline kicked in. Donnie wrenched the blast rifle free then lifted Sophie over his shoulder as they made their way out of the now burning building. All around dead Skecksies lay littering the ground. Looking toward the path of the ship he could see others as they fought those that had air dropped before the crash. More Phase Spiders began jumping in to help. The flashes in the sky were fewer now, still far out from where most people lived, debris still rained down. Then Sophie squeezed his hand. "Go, they need you Colonel," she said. He kissed her lips then gave instructions to take care of his wife. He found the command group where they were coordinating search for any who might have gotten away.
