Dear James
I know I owe you some explanations for my actions of the last few months.
Hopefully this letter will go some if not part of the way towards
answering them.
As you know I'd already told you about meeting that German woman

to work for a few days and wondered if we could meet up socially this
time. She said that she was anxious to see more of London and perhaps see
some stage shows. She'd obviously remembered that I'd offered to take her
to the West End last time she was here.
I told her that if she liked she could spend some time over the weekend
in Kent with me and Liz, thinking that would help me get more business. I
told her about my large house and its many bedrooms and even emailed her
the address and a photograph. She readily agreed to it which made me
happy as I knew that it would mean additional work for our firm if she
enjoyed it.
Anyway Elisabeth arrived in an upmarket VW executive car in the early
afternoon straight from Germany. She'd come over to attend a new model
presentation the next week. I'd had to agree with her that staying in an
impersonal London hotel would be totally soul destroying way to spend a
lovely weekend, hence her suggestion to visit us.
After bringing in her small business suitcase, she had a quick shower
after that long drive. Then at her suggestion Elisabeth and Liz went for
a quiet stroll down into the fields behind our house. So I had a few
moments of peace and quiet before what was to become the most
extraordinary, wonderful and eye-opening weekend I'd ever experienced.
It had been a few years since we'd last met and she hadn't really changed
a bit. The dramatic designer clothes were still very much in evidence and
her style or finish, was as polished as I remembered. Her long nails were
immaculate; her thick long hair was beautifully done while her make-up
was flawless.
There wasn't the slightest trace remaining to indicate the early part of
her life. I suppose her ability to act and operate so naturally in a
feminine way was clearly demonstrated because my wife had no idea at that
time that she wasn't born in her present state.
In fact I tried to suggest to Liz in a private moment that I really
wondered if Elisabeth's story of her early life was actually real. My
wife questioned my comment and asked what made me doubt Elisabeth's life
story that she'd told us about. She couldn't believe it when I eventually
told her later of our German friend's past.
I had no doubts as Elisabeth had eagerly fetched from her briefcase her
first original passport and it clearly showed that her birth gender was
different. She told me that she didn't think I'd completely believed her
last time when we'd met so she'd brought her old passport to convince me.
Anyway, after the girls got back from their walk, I made them both a cup
of tea and after a bit of a chat we decided that we'd go out to dinner at
a fairly fashionable and classy restaurant not far from our house. So we
all got changed and I have to say that my breath was taken away when
Elisabeth came downstairs to join us. She was wearing a classic black
Gucci dress with a brilliant cerise silk scarf draped over her shoulders.
She had on the most dramatic pair of black velvet high heels which with
the diamond earrings and a bracelet made her look as though we were going
to some royal function rather than just a simple dinner. It was the sort
of outfit that would look 'over the top' on the wrong person. On her it
looked simply stunning.
I really should've taken some photographs of us at dinner but I thought
Elisabeth might resent the intrusion. The restaurant though was excellent
and with two good bottles of wine we'd made the evening go swinging past.
Somehow you can tell Elisabeth has worked at interfacing with interesting
people because she's just so full of life and talking.
However the funny thing was that although she was obviously flirting with
Liz she would constantly rub her stiletto heels on my leg. I watched her
squeezing Elizabeth's arm and hand, and looking into Liz's face. She's
very good at that.
What was really funny, and the first time I've ever seen it happen was
that Liz was lapping up all this attention and seemed to love every
minute. When we got back home from a great night out we sat on the sofas
in front of the log burning stove and chatted for what seemed like hours.
Because we had coffee and the odd glass of brandy we moved around a bit
and every time the two girls were sitting together they got quite close.
That final goodnight kiss between the pair of them was more than a casual
kiss and it became almost quite passionate.
Somehow, I wasn't concerned and it was all rather sensual and pleasant.
When we went up to bed, Liz and I were about to go to turn out the light
when Elisabeth suddenly came to our door to wish us a final good night.
Seeing that we were still awake and more or less sitting up in bed, ever

signal her departure for church, Elisabeth finally emerged into the
kitchen wondering if she could make me breakfast. As she cooked and then
we ate, we had a nice long chat about all that she'd been doing since
we'd last met. I was surprised to learn that absolutely no one in VW knew

very few people knew and I was one of the exceptions.
All of that change had happened well before she'd started working there
and she intended to keep her secret for obvious professional reasons. She
was quite happy to discuss how life was for her and was happy that I'd
accepted her so well. We washed the breakfast plates and then sat
together in the living room talking but before long we were kissing
passionately. I suppose I sort of expected it as I knew she'd really
wanted to see me again. What I hadn't expected was that we would end up
in bed together. That we did is just one of those things which will be
between us and now you I suppose. It was a wonderful morning to discover
this woman's wonderful secret. I must confess if I hadn't been shown
proof I would never have known she was a transsexual. It felt wonderful

We are lucky that we have some friends who bought a magnificent villa
overlooking the coast near Nice. It is beautiful but I think I would lose
all my marbles if I had to soak up that idyllic view week after week. Our
hotel was up in the hills about a mile back from the coast, which gave us
the chance to escape when we felt the need for a quiet read or watching a
movie on the laptop.
Anyway, after a few days of doing nothing we moved up the coast towards
Monaco and tried to take on a more active approach to looking round a
number of the local villages and generally pretending to be tourists.
I think I was somewhat apprehensive at our visit to Munich on the way
north. It was certainly fun seeing Elisabeth in the UK but was it wise to
get back too close too quickly? Well, we set off northwards and planned
to spend three days and just two nights in Munich as her guests. We both
felt that was fair and reasonable.
Munich is a most interesting and chic city. There are several major
manufacturers based there and it's very obvious that there's a lot of
wealth. Beautiful shops abound that are stocked with a wide range of
stylish goods, particularly fashion, furniture and luxury household
items.
Elisabeth's flat was what I'd expected; it's very modern and ultra
stylish. We were delightfully entertained on arrival and informed that
she'd booked a table at a smart restaurant nearby followed by a
nightclub.
There wasn't much chance of doing anything other than what we were told,
so I have to admit that I hoped it would be a fairly low key first
evening and that what had happened when she stayed with us was just a
flash in the pan. That hope was not to be.
When Elisabeth appeared at her front door to open it when we'd arrived,
she looked absolutely stunning. She was dressed in an expensive Gucci
black trouser suit with a cream silk blouse and scarf. This had an almost
masculine feel to it but she'd feminised it all with a dramatic pair of
shiny patent red court stilettos. They were such a height that I wondered
how she managed to walk, but she clearly did with the grace and style I'd
remembered in London.
Elisabeth is not very tall but with her heels she must have been just
less than 6 foot tall. She was almost as tall as me and certainly a lot

from my reaction as she showed us into her well appointed spare bedroom.
We dumped our bags on the bed and headed back to the living room where
Elisabeth promptly declared that we would be going out to dinner. Since
we'd been driving several hours, we both showered and got ready and a few
hours later she ushered us into a taxi. When we arrived at the
restaurant we were feted well I'm sure, because of Elisabeth's stunning

A good meal and some delicious wine certainly relaxed us and by the time
we'd finished I was really looking forward to the nightclub Elisabeth had
suggested. It was within easy walking distance and seemed popular with a
smartly dressed clientele. A good table, not too close to the music and a
bottle of very good champagne soon had us in a great party mood.
It was quite an interesting place. It wasn't overtly gay but there were
quite a few same sex couples enjoying the dance floor and both girls soon
took to the floor as I watched. There's no doubt, they really get on well
and one might have been mistaken for thinking they were a committed
couple as there was quite a bit of touching and kissing in the darker
corners of the floor.
It may be odd to say so but it all seemed perfectly natural in the
confines of this club. They obviously were enjoying each other's company.
My turn came and, as you may imagine, being in close contact with

of the sexual divide. We did not come up with any answers but I know
you'll come up with some very succinct suggestions.
The following morning, Elisabeth went off to work looking immaculate as
ever despite the long night so we were free to explore the city. When we
got back she was home so I decided to pose the question. She replied that
she found this somewhat bizarre approach helps her appreciate the
feminine side of her persona and as she added with total emphasis, "Plus
I just enjoy it."
After a day exploring Munich and we hoped for an easier night to relax
but Elisabeth had other ideas. She'd invited a number of her friends in
for drinks and she challenged us to decide who was male and female.
There were no less than seven couples and I was totally confused. It was
almost impossible to tell and when Elisabeth told us later who was who,
I'd got all but one couple totally reversed.
There were two charming men who had been girls and who'd gone through
gender reassignment and four of the girls were all former males. But, and
this is important part, they were all absolutely charming and delightful
company.
I have come to the conclusion that if I could have my time over again, I
would definitely choose someone who has had a sex change. Not only are
all those I have met truly wonderful people they are interesting and it
seems that they just have the knack of really intriguing and exciting the
man of their choice.
After the company departed, the three of us settled down for some food,
drink and a chat. (And a little more, but delightful as it was I leave it
to your imagination.)
I can tell you this, Liz and I have been married for many years and I
thought she might take a jaundiced view of the activities over the past
weeks. However not a bit of it though she admits to having her eyes
opened, but shocked.
In fact she's already looking forward to going to stay with Elisabeth
again later this month. I begin to wonder if that's wise! But, who am I
to preach? I'm now trying to get my thoughts and activities back to
normal.
I was interested to see that you mentioned Germaine Greer. She and I
shared the same College accommodation in Cambridge when we were both
working for the University. We had many a lengthy chat about the position
of transsexual women in society. I have to say, although, our debates and
glasses of wine together were most enjoyable I wasn't able to accept her
strident views on those women who have had sex change surgery.
I don't think that transsexual women necessarily try harder to make
themselves more appealing but it depends on their ability to pass and how
self confident they are. The women I know do get very depressed at times
but that seems to be almost cyclical and is triggered by some pretty
mundane matter which might be of no concern to ordinary women.
It's a difficult area with no simple answers. I can give you a much more
accurate answer to ladyboys. When I was in the Army I was adjutant and
controller for the Battalion and I had the task of deciding what to do
with two who eventually arrived at the barracks in Gillingham.
The big problem was that although they had all the looks of two
attractive young girls, they weren't behaving as such and the two
soldiers who had invited them after seeing their show lost interest and
wanted nothing to do with them. We put them up for the night and then put
them back on a bus.
The most interesting question you asked is how I made contact with the
various transsexual women I know. I can in total honesty say that I have
never made a direct approach seeking a contact or liaison. I accidentally
met two who ran a web design company when I was seeking help to set up
our new company web site.
Understandably there was nothing to indicate their other nefarious
activities and I only discovered they were two transsexuals living and
working together when one could take it no longer and killed herself
while the other emigrated to the States.
Several have written to me after I wrote to Lyn Conway in the States and
also to the Press for Change organisation offering my services if someone
wanted a shoulder to cry on or someone to shout at.
My good friend in Kent first contacted me through a mutual friend nearly
two years ago before she had her surgery. I do keep in touch with her and
it pleases me that her life is now so changed from an almost recluse like
existence to one where she has a good job, a great man in her life and a
lifestyle which would be the envy of many.

I can't remember if I told you about the red shoes. When Liz and I went
to Germany to stay with Elisabeth's for a couple of days, one of the
outfits she appeared in to take us out clubbing was a wonderful black
trouser suit accompanied by a very high pair of red heels.
After we returned to the UK a parcel arrived enclosing the red heels with
a note to say that it was obvious I thought they looked good so, "here
they are!"
Surprise, surprise - what an ornament!
Anyway Tuesday and Wednesday of this week I had to go into the local
hospital to have an angioplasty, a pretty simple bit of action on the
