There are some secrets you never talk about, even to your wife. As a

My wife Isabel and I had been married for 20 years when this story
begins. We had two beautiful children, our daughter Gemma who was 14 and
our son Clark who was 12.
I thought of myself as fairly conventional. I was a department manager
in a Department store. I was in charge of the menswear section. I

I remember one Wednesday Gemma came home from school and complained to
her Mum and I about how the teacher had spent some time telling the class
about how some children were gay, some were lesbian and some were
transgendered. Gemma wanted us to complain about the teacher to the
school as she was very sure that she was heterosexual and resented being
taught about homosexuals and lesbians.
I was about to send an email when Isabel gave me THE look. I remembered
Isabel had been bisexual when we first met and I realised that I had
better not send the email if I wanted my shirts ironed and my dinner
cooked when I got home.
"Gemma, I have not raised you to be homophobic. We will do no such
thing. In fact you will set up a profile on the "Her" dating app and see
if you can introduce me to some of your new friends if you expect to get
pocket money. Now I am not trying to turn you into some sort of lesbian
prostitute, you don't have to sleep with any of them but you need to get
out more and make some lesbian friends."
Gemma was furious.
And I found myself in trouble too because I left it to Isabel to sort
matters out with Gemma.
I found myself wearing an unironed shirt to work the next day and cooking
a pizza the following evening but I was pleased to hear Gemma and Isabel
had made up and were planning a shopping trip the next day (which was a
Friday).
I got home late as usual to find Isabel and Gemma had bought new dresses
and there was a new girl called Clara.
"Hi, Daddy!"
My jaw dropped.
"Clark! What the hell are you doing dressed like a girl!"
There was my son wearing a blonde wig, makeup, a red shoulderless dress,
fishnet stockings and girls' shoes.
He had looked happy but he quickly spun round ran up to his room and
slammed the door behind him.
Isabel was giving me THE look...
