It turned out Mrs. Talbot wasn't available in the near term. She had her

I thought about what she said as I got our stuff. It was a lot to think

The next day I shaved, as I did every day, only that day I shaved my torso

and started looking through them until I came to the blouses. I selected
on with puffed sleeves and an elastic neckline for pulling off your

As usual, Aunt Emma said nothing until after supper then complimented me

I tried on everything she selected. She loved getting me down to my

I looked at her. "OK. It will be fun."
"Now we've got the wardrobe pretty well solved, think about what else you

She kissed me on the cheek and said, "Goodnight, I've got the usual big
day tomorrow."

I thought about what she said and spent some time on the computer, trying
to figure out solutions to all the impediments keeping me from getting
what I wanted. Deciding to do that was quite an education.
The next morning I got up early, at 6:30, before Aunt Emma, and got
prepared for the day. When I heard her moving around I went down to her
room and caught her going to the bathroom. "I thought I'd fix you
breakfast this morning, Aunt Emma, what do you want?"
She looked surprised. "Well, I usually have just toast and coffee. Why

I went down to the kitchen humming. I had a busy day in front of me.
Looking back, things in the house changed after that morning. I started

are we looking for fun shoes?"

more alive than I ever had. Everything seemed enhanced for my senses, and

put his face looking at me. "Please?"

the show has to last a whole hour, or we don't have to pay."
She laughed uproariously and high-fived Butch. Butch and I talked about
