We returned the key to reception who passed me a note from Mark saying
that they hoped to get back after lunch but Clarissa was still waiting

We swung by Violet's room where he collected his Dorothy costume and

The combination camisole and long leg knickers are in white cotton with
purple lace trim. They are sleeveless with a rounded neckline the bodice
is shaped and reinforced. A row of pearl buttons run down to the waist.
The legs of the combinations flare from the waist and extend down well
below the knee. Rows of broderie anglaise frills are sewn around the
legs below knee level. It's only when I pull them on and fasten the
buttons at the front that I discover they are open between my legs,
clearly I need to be careful where I sit and how I bend over. Violet
tells me that up until Queen Victoria's time this was the norm and I can
see that if you're wearing a crinoline or similar, it would be much more
convenient.
The dress was a blue sheep print dress with hopped skirt, puff sleeves a
rosette bodice and two front bows. One other feature of the dress was a
ruffled blue satin peplum. Once I had the dress on, Violet fastened the
Velcro tags at the back for me, they allowed for some variation in the
size of the wearer.
The bonnet was a blue seersucker with white floral embroidery, the
inside lined with a pale blue satin. The brim of the bonnet was
stiffened and extended out past the side of my head so you could only
see in front of you. Long white satin ribbons allowed the bonnet to be
fastened under the chin with a large floppy bow.
With the bonnet now secured on my head I stood in front of the mirror
and admired my image. There was only one thing missing and after I
checked the bottom of the costume bag I found the crook. I fitted the
pieces together and retied the bow at the top.
Now I looked like I'd just fallen from the pages of a book of Nursery
Rhymes.
In the meantime Violet had donned his Dorothy costume. It's a blue
gingham dress with a fitted waist and attached button straps. The white
blouse has gingham trim on the collar and sleeve cuffs. He is wearing a
dark wig with long pigtails at the side, they are tied with blue gingham
bows. He is wearing short white ruffled sock with a pair of red sparkle
shoes. The straw basket he is carrying contains a small stuffed toy dog.
There was some free time before lunch, when our costumes would be judged
so I suggested that we take a stroll through the gardens.
The building had not started its life as a hotel but rather as a country
house. The owners had employed a well-known garden designer to landscape
the property and the results were well worth the expenditure. A gate in
a high wall opened into what had once been a walled garden where fresh
vegetable were grown for the house.
Much of the garden had been returned to lawn while some of the fruit
trees had grown quite large. The herb garden was still extensive with a
wide assortment of plants. Raspberry, Gooseberry and Elderberry canes
were still bearing their fruit.
We found a garden seat under a large Mulberry tree and after we picked
some berries we sat there watching the birds flitting around the garden.
"This is totally surreal." Violet said as she popped another raspberry
into her mouth. "No way I could ever have imagined that I'd be sitting
in a country garden dressed as "Dorothy" and chatting with Little Bo
Peep."
"No its not something that I expected to do either, but I must say that
I am really enjoying the experience, "Dorothy" was always my favourite
character, it might have been the dress."
Violet took my hand. "Meeting you has changed my life, I don't know how
you feel, but for my part I just don't want this time together to end."
I was lost for words for a few moments, so I gently squeezed his hand.
I'd come here expecting to spend the weekend with Mark, there was no
doubt that we both felt a sexual attraction to each other and we wanted
to explore our sexuality. Then Violet and Clarissa had walked into our
life's and Lucy had taken an interest in me. I knew that Mark and I
would always remain close friends but I was less sure about our sexual
relationship.
I had always thought that I loved Jane, but now I was questioning
whether in fact that was love. To be honest I felt much more strongly
attracted to Violet than I ever did to Jane, was I in love with Violet?
This was an issue that I'd need to resolve. My relationship with Lucy
was also troubling me, I knew I was strongly attracted to him but I also
felt that I was cheating on Violet.
"You're deep in thought." I turned to face him as he spoke. "Penny for
them."
"It's complicated Violet," I was going to try and explain my feelings,
"I've only just met you and already you are the one person I have to be
with. I've never ever felt this way about anyone before and I'm
struggling with depth of my feelings for you. I rather believe that I am
in love with you and want to be with you forever."
"Oh Alice! I know that I'm in love with you." He moved closer and tried
to kiss me, however the bonnet made this almost impossible. We laughed
at our efforts, then I undid the ribbon under my chin and removed the
bonnet.
"Shall we try that again?" I asked, he brought his lips to mine and we
kissed.
When we parted he asked, "Will you spend the night with me?"
Clearly I'd have to explain things to Mark beforehand but I fancied he
would be fairly happy to be free to join Clarissa if my suspicions were
correct.
"Will you take advantage of me?" I asked with a smile.
"Most certainly," he replied.
"Will you keep me awake all night indulging in kinky sex acts?"
"Without a doubt."
"Then I accept your invitation." We sealed our agreement with another
long and passionate kiss. I replaced and retied my bonnet, and then we
sat there absorbed in our surrounds and thoughts.
