Chapter -18-
This was something that I really didn't see coming but there he stood
was he really the owner of this hotel and not just one of the maids.
"Lucy! What on earth are you doing here?" I asked as I stood up.

asked if I was the new girl and I nodded that I was. I was told to
follow him and he led me down the hallway and up the stairs. A second
set or stairs led to the loft which had several rooms off a central

"Well after I'd been dressed, Fannie, that's what Madam Zelda had re-
named her husband, took me down stairs to meet the Mistress. Fannie had
knocked on the door of the study; we waited for a moment before we were

"Yes! Darling I promised him I'd see him tonight."
He took me in his arms and we embraced and kissed. "Goodnight sweetie,
talk soon," he said as he released me.
"I promise." I turned and left.
