Taylor's bombshell hit the family hard. Betty saw Taylor was in tears
and explained her reasoning to the family, "She knows her abilities
better than anyone and she knows just how you'd all react. You know that
she was going to retire anyway, this is why she wanted to retire. She
could still perform, but she would be taking a spot from a deserving
woman and wouldn't be at the same level she was before. Don't try to
talk her out of it, it's for the best and we both agree that she is
ready to leave for good."
Vince let the others try to talk her out of her decision before clearing
his voice then telling the family, "I would rather she be able to walk
than try to continue on as she is. Too many in our business have tried
to stay in beyond what their bodies could endure and paid the price. She
has earned her retirement and she will be around us for as long as she
wants to be. She doesn't have to work again, she can retire and be a
doctor again or she can write a book about her life. It doesn't matter,
she has saved up enough money and she has access to our jet to travel
where she wants to travel to so it's pointless to argue. She will be
given a proper send-off and enjoy her retirement in peace. I do have to
ask her to go out in a way that will live on in legend, one that only
she could come up with. She's going out a champion, she deserves to go
out on top and with her head held high."
When Vince speaks, it's law. Taylor Turner would retire with dignity and
grace and in front of the GCW world in her hometown of Orlando at their
annual post-Wrestlecade Monday Night Wars broadcast. It was going to be
one of the biggest episodes they ever had and would see as many of her
old friends and loved ones perform for her with all of her blood and
adopted relatives in attendance at ringside.
Vince did all of the scheduling for the wrestlers who would be invited,
with Vince personally inviting the whole of the Killer Gagne Wrestling
Academy to the event to serve as part of her entourage and as her
personal security. The school meant a lot to Taylor and she popped in
from time to time to check on her investment and would see diamonds in
the rough that benefited IoH, FJPW, and the smaller indie promotions. It
wouldn't be possible to have a night honoring Taylor without the school
being featured as both a showcase for the talent and as a way of letting
fans know that she'd still be around wrestling.
Taylor had to take a nap while the family made plans to talk with the
full Simpson family so they could be in attendance for the event. Taylor
would want both Megan and Matthew Simpson to be there and be by her
side, with their brothers joining her as a sort of royal court for her.
Hank Black joked that they ought to have her up on a throne in front of
the ring with her interacting with the kids and wrestlers as they went
about the matches, unknowingly causing a cascade of discussions about
the look for the set as well as who would be placed where.
The gathering broke-up when the plans had been hashed-out and each knew
their part. Taylor and the Simpson branch of the family went next door
to enjoy dinner with the Simpsons and would see her father Wally
explaining to the assembled family what had been proposed and why it was
happening. Taylor looked away in shame but Megan hugged her tightly and
smiled at her while the grinning Matthew told her it was going to be
awesome being there.
The whole of the family was in attendance and saw cousins enjoying in-
depth discussions about their similar jobs and saw the three brothers
seeing how alike their kids are despite the distance between. Wally was
the unofficial head of the family now as his brothers Clint and Steve
deferred to him in all matters of discussion. Wally wisely refused to be
any leader and insisted they were family, not a business which only led
to Joe, Reginald, Walker, and Travis Simpson to grin at his humbleness.
Taylor talked with the kids about the upcoming movies and got them to
hold off asking about the girls. If given half a chance, Megan would
want to know everything about them and try to emulate them as she was
clearly in awe of them. Taylor just grinned and teased her about her
boyfriend which sent her off running while her brother Milton laughed at
her peskiness getting the better of her for once.
Dinner was served, breaking the kids out of their inquisition and giving
Taylor a chance to relax more. Her big news was held-off until after
dessert and the kids calmed were in bed. Megan, Milton, and their sister
Miley spent the night with the family so they got to hear the news
directly, and had the kids not liking that Taylor was forced to retire
but accepting that it was for the right reasons.
Taylor went to bed that night completely exhausted and saw the other
Turners trying hard to not say a thing about her condition. In the
morning, the kids gathered together and saw the infants being the ones
to get the most attention as they giggled and begged for their
grandparents while the twins went for the presents and handed them off
to everyone but the ones they were supposed to go to. Bella tried her
best to keep the twins in line but she was overwhelmed by their
enthusiasm and simply moved the presents around to their rightful
recipients.
The infants were the life of the party as they refused to leave their
grandparents until it was time to eat and enjoyed seeing their parents
complain about diaper changes then needing bottles, causing the kids to
giggle while their cousins smartly didn't say anything as they'd endure
the same next Christmas. It was touching and as she looked over at
Alexis and Riley, Taylor realized that it was only a matter of time
before she herself was a grandmother. Her nephew Jerry had been good
enough to not become a dad yet but given his father's past, he refused
to have children until he first had a stable job and home.
Taylor relaxed and enjoyed the solitude of the family, with Vince and
Patty telling her that she was doing the right thing in taking her
health seriously. The feeling of losing herself would pass, she had a
good job and loving family so she didn't need to wrestle in the ring
anymore. She was going to give the chance of a lifetime to a young
wrestler and it would be someone that she chose not who was chosen by
someone for the sake of a storyline and building characters.
Christmas gave way to New Year's eve and saw the Turners and Simpsons
enjoying the night together. It was the most people at the Turner
mansion in a long time and was enjoyed by both sides as Wally and Taylor
mingled among the kids and saw Matthew and Megan not being believed to
be transgender by the Turners who hadn't met them before. The previous
Christmas saw Taylor's cousins Sally, Kate, and Bart spending the time
with their in-laws while Ollie Turner spent the time at school with his
girlfriend so they hadn't had the chance to be with the others nor meet
Megan, they couldn't believe that she was so feminine and took to her
hormones to quickly but they did recall Taylor's own body at the start
of her transition making them see that it was genetically connected.
The eight Turners were disbelieving as the kids' reactions were ones of
thanks and pride, but had Vinny telling them that it was true and Megan
was her brother's identical twin but was too much of a woman now to ever
be identical again. Megan blushed while Milton rolled his eyes and
Matthew's brother Andy had to fight saying something as he had become so
much of a boy that unless you looked in his boxers you'd never know that
he still had female anatomy. The eight had given them the perfect gift
as they had given them peace of mind as newcomers didn't believe their
past lives.
The new year brought Taylor's return to action, but in a limited role.
She would be given a title shot that would be played out at Wrestlecade
with the winner of the Battle Royal actually holding off cashing in her
title shot until the right moment. The reason was simple: the storyline
would be a tournament held to crown a new champion to which the Battle
Royal winner would cash-in and seize the title as her own thus giving
her delayed win a bigger impact overall.
Given that they already knew one of the heels would win Battle Royal, it
was fitting and was their way of giving Taylor the night to herself then
make way for the other ladies as they jockeyed for position to replace
her at the top. All of the women were involved in the tournament and
each would have a match that would be heavily featured in the weeks
leading up to the "Bank on It" pay-per-view that June. The only women
who wouldn't be involved were the tag-team championship contenders, they
would be in a battle to replace the retiring Taylor as she bowed out of
her team in favor of singles competition.
The lead-up to the Battle Royal show in Los Angeles was fraught with
troubles as the crew struggled to replace key personnel. Taylor had the
brilliant idea to just go, "Old school" and minimize the set while they
replaced the personnel, with a lot of the glitz and glamour removed as
LED walls were replaced with curtains and screen projectors that didn't
require skilled technicians to install. The brute workers could be hired
from vocational schools and give them invaluable on-the-job experience.
The Take-On event the night before would see things return to the status
quo as their feuds returned to normal as the invasion angle ended and
had them crowning a new champion in each match. There were no people
moving up to the GCW roster due to the return to normal but did set-up
the few who would be elevated after Wrestlecade including Taylor's
personal choice for a replacement. She grinned as the poor girl didn't
know she was being groomed, only that she wasn't getting anything after
Wrestlecade.
Taylor was busy doing a lot of work at the Take-On event, including
entertaining her cousins as she had to have the boys there for another
segment as they were personally requested by the wrestlers as their
interactions with them were pure gold and made everyone come out better
in their storylines. It was a continuation of their use of kids in
interviews with certain wrestlers and was made all the better as the two
were unashamed of their opinions and didn't hold back with their
criticism. They knew not to break kayfabe and reveal things that weren't
part of their in-character personalities, but it was all in good fun and
the heels loved how they could play the part of annoyed kids to their
arrogant jerks and make the heroic babyface look like a true hero by
saving the kids from the angry heel's actions.
Taylor was in pain for much of the day and forced to sit in a wheelchair
for the night, letting the boys act as gophers for her as they got her
snacks, drinks, and some pain relievers allowing her to remain at the
Gorilla Position and oversee the show. The boys were pleased to earn
money for their actions, it wasn't meant to be done for pay but they
couldn't turn down money from anyone. Matthew was the life of the set as
he went out of his way to ensure Taylor's orders were followed and
yelled at the few who wouldn't listen to him, earning the wrestlers a
scold from the producers and praise to Matthew.
The next night was better for Taylor but as soon as she hit the ring her
ring rust showed as she was in a state of slow motion and needed help
selling several of her moves. Mandy Morgan, her opponent, was fighting
her own injury so kept things grounded and used the match as a way of
getting time off so sold Taylor's moves and moved in such a way that she
looked like she was being hurt worse by Taylor when it was Taylor who
was in pain and needed the help. Mandy actually did aggravate her hip
injury after a tough throw forcing Taylor to use her Muta Lock on Mandy
allowing her to tap for the submission win and winning the championship
back while Mandy went off with a trainer to have her hip examined.
The crowd was enthralled throughout the match, with fans not caring that
they didn't see the aerialist at work- they just wanted Taylor back.
Taylor went backstage and oversaw the men's division matches as she sat
in her comfortable chair with ice on her back. She was moving slowly and
anyone who saw her had the impression that she was worse off than anyone
could have expected.
The dirtsheets got wind that Taylor was badly injured and the whole
match was a sham meant to put the belt on her for one last time before
she had to retire due to injuries. It was the truth, but it was insider
information that nobody was supposed to have released. Taylor nearly
cried, it was terrible news and only made her work pointless as she
never wanted the title but the dirtsheets didn't care.
The culprit was found and it was one of the wrestlers being released
soon and who had a deep grudge against Taylor for ignoring him as a
potential champion and not believing that she had any right to tell him
what to do. He was paid a hefty fee for the news by the dirtsheets and
gloated that he finally got back at Taylor for demoting him to jobber
status. The locker room took justice into their own hands, they tossed
him out into the arena in his underwear then told the dirtsheets to stay
away from the GCW.
The boys kept her centered and got her to see that things were going to
be alright and that she had to do the job no matter what. They knew the
wrestlers would retaliate, they heard from the men themselves that they
loved Taylor like a sister and nobody hurts her. She was able to focus
on the task at hand and left things to the wrestlers to handle, she did
love them like brothers even if she couldn't tell them.
The other matches were run of the mill matches that saw Slick Jace and
Impossible winning their first tag-team title and Impossible's son
Dominic retaining his cruiserweight championship. The highlight was Mack
winning back his championship from a lackluster champion, with Mack
setting himself up for the bigger feud that had been building since his
return from his honeymoon. Mack and his opponent were polar opposites in
terms of moves and fan reactions, but it was classic heel/babyface
reactions.
The main events were the two battle royal matches and saw the changes
benefit both divisions as the men's winner was a heel who was climbing
the ranks and needed a shot at the title but couldn't get it any other
believable way. The fact that he was an underdog and came out of
nowhere(literally) to win the battle royal by being smart and sneaky won
the fans over and made his character greater. He had a bright future
with the GCW, he just needed a chance to get established which the
changes had enabled.
The whole crew was saddened that this was leading to Taylor's exit from
the ring. She had an amazing effect on the whole of the GCW and her
absence each week was felt by all. Her family may be their bosses, but
Taylor was "one of them" in their eyes as she grew up in front of them-
twice.
The next three months were a blur as Taylor was out of the ring as much
as possible and was in a slew of tag-team matches which culminated in
Tanya or Julia getting pinned or submitting to the other team. It was
clear to fans that they were protecting Taylor, but her character was
being portrayed as being the target of Absolute Riott who were working
overtime to get the title back into their control. The fans had a lot to
be happy for as the matches were entertaining and Taylor did participate
but not directly.
By late March the final preparations were being made for Taylor's
farewell show, with invitations sent to select people across the country
and around the world. They had immediate agreements to appear and with
some money paid to FJPW and IoH for the right to feature their talent
for one night they had a roster full of talent who were itching to pay
tribute to someone they respected. Killer Gagne was going to be there in
person and would be by her side alongside the kids making it an
enjoyable show for all.
The kids were excited to be there for the event, with all of them
telling their friends that they would be on TV with the kids acting as
ring announcers for the big show. Bella would have her big sister help
her but she would enjoy the spotlight as she was clearly Taylor's
spitting image and had her personality. To the wrestlers, it was like
seeing Taylor at the same age, albeit without the filter Bella had
developed.
Wrestlecade saw Taylor being relieved of her duties for the rest of the
school year and told to enjoy her time with the kids especially as she
needed time with them. The actual night was a culmination of a year of
storylines that simmered and saw things grow bigger than expected but
worth the wait. Taylor was the only one whose storyline wasn't a long
one, she was in the mix but purposely left out of things.
The show kicked off with an amazing gauntlet match that saw her chosen
replacement winning in a surprising manner- via Taylor's finishing move.
She used it at Taylor's request and upon realizing the gravity of the
request burst into tears as Taylor happily told her, "You are promoted
to the main roster. The win is the culmination of your hard work and
diligent attention to learning your part. You are an amazing worker and
your abilities are limitless, this is your chance to shine. You are my
replacement, go forward and show the world that you are better than
anyone believed you to be."
Taylor's match was purposely put on last as she had the crowd waiting in
anticipation, knowing that it was going to be a special night in the
history of professional wrestling. Taylor's opponent, Liv Rose, came out
to boos and applause as she worked the crowd into a frenzy with her
usual pre-match antics. When that was finished the crowd went silent as
Taylor's music hit then went into a frenzy as they all cheered for her
for the last time, screaming in enjoyment as she slowly walked to the
ring.
Liv tried to hide her smile as the two squared off, with Taylor trying
hard to give her a good match and work with her to sell her moves. Liv
was strong and agile and moved quickly allowing Taylor's holds to look
like they were working while really slipping through them at the right
point. Taylor did the same with her holds and tosses, landing on her
hips in false pain but actually feeling it as her back started to tense
from the force of the landings.
The two went back and forth until Liv missed a hold allowing Taylor to
get her into the Muta Lock and force her to submit. It was all over,
Taylor had retained the title. Liv mouthed, "Good job," as the two got
out of the hold and walked off to let Taylor's victory sink in for the
fans.
Taylor looked over the crowd and shed tears, then started to take off
her knee and elbow pads, then her boots and headband. She left them in
the middle of the ring in a neat pile, showing to the world that it was
time to hang up the boots for the final time. She then placed the title
belt onto the pile and kissed it goodbye, barely able to hold her tears
any longer. The crowd realized the significance of the moment and
cheered wildly, chanting, "Thank You Taylor," over and over again as she
waived to the crowd.
When she walked off, she was met at the top of the stage by the kids and
all of the GCW and NEW roster as well as the rosters of FJPW and IoH,
all of whom appeared at Vince's request and done with the blessing of
their respective companies. Everyone was in tears and saw Vince at a
rare moment of tenderness in front of the entire wrestling world. Taylor
was applauded by her colleagues and led to the locker room to which she
changed out of her tights and enjoyed more hugs and kisses from the kids
as well as Betty and her parents.
The next night it was announced that Taylor Turner was being forced to
retire due to medical reasons and was going to drop the belt, which
would be fought over by the women in a special tournament that she had
created just for them. Vince then announced that all matches that night
would be special matches that would feature people who Taylor had a
direct hand in helping develop as wrestlers and as people and who owed a
debt of gratitude to her for helping them or inspiring them in the ring.
He smiled as he told the whole of the world, "We have five on the GCW
roster that is family to her in a variety of ways, but in her nine years
as a wrestler she has touched the lives of dozens more."
Killer Gagne entered, followed by his sons Tully and Harly Anderson and
Killer's unofficial son/good friend/striking coach Ken Ortiz. The four
were Taylor's, "Escorts" and acted as her entourage as they carried her
to the ring in a special chair that was set up ringside much the same as
the throne Killer had sat in years before when she had him honored when
he finally retired. Killer happily told the world that she had saved his
business, reunited him and his sons, and found one of the greatest
fighters he had ever seen to help teach areas he was lacking and serve
as his voice of reason that he sorely needed and if not for Taylor he
might have passed away in the ring from overworking himself and never
having met his grandchildren nor seen how much more he could do for
wrestling by being a mentor to others.
The trio blushed at Killer's words but he meant every one of them. Ken
hugged her deeply as he had the most to be thankful for as he had a
steady job and part ownership and thanks to Taylor's help he had been
able to recover all of the money stolen from him from MMA promoters. He
saw Killer as a father and loved the man more than his own father, with
Killer being proud to have helped someone who was able to help him in
return and doing so out of respect rather than money.
Killer's entrance gave way to a parade of young talent who had worked up
the ranks thanks to Taylor's eye for talent and direct involvement in
their training. The Paine brothers were at the forefront and told the
world just what Taylor meant to them especially as she had helped their
family in so many ways not counting saving their two younger sisters
from a life of crime and isolation. The girls were shown and had big
smiles as they smirked at the camera at their father Harry Waite knowing
he'd see them from the prison he was currently incarcerated in.
The group left and were replaced by several IoH and FJPW wrestlers who
performed for the crowd and enjoyed doing things for the crowd that
wasn't normally seen by them as they were using a different style of
wrestling than the usual GCW wrestlers. They battled GCW stars to a
standstill and saw Taylor smiling throughout the matches as she
recognized some of the moves being performed. They were the same moves
she had taught them at Killer's academy and at IoH and had her loving
the memories while Killer told the GCW world that all of the moves shown
were ones Taylor had taught to them during her two times away from the
ring while recovering from surgery and during her rise up the ranks as
one of the top budding wrestlers nine years before.
The kids did great with the announcing, with Bella getting the crowd to
laugh with her as she tricked the hapless Riley into correcting her as
she botched the names of several of the heels. Bella acted as comic
relief and gave the crowd a chance to get into the matches as the
wrestlers tried hard to be upset at her mangling their names while
making the little girl smile at the reactions; that contrasted with
Davis, Matthew, Vinny, Milton, Andy, and Megan who were all business.
They were a stark contrast but it was expected as Bella was only six and
would have trouble with the names and Riley was the one who could best
serve as a foil without getting upset at it.
Slick and Impossible performed alongside Dominic and Mack in a match of
the closest wrestlers to Taylor especially as all four had a stake in
honoring her. Dominic's cousin Maria was acting as his valet for the
match and saw Taylor hugging and kissing her as she hadn't seen the
young woman in a while as she and her husband had moved overseas for
business. She was beautiful, sporting large breasts and a big grin as
she whispered, "We adopted three kids thanks to your inspiration!"
giving Taylor more tears of joy as she had unknowingly helped Maria's
life again after getting her to rein in her libido years before as she
started to blossom and have boys take notice of her.
The women's matches saw Anya and Tanya reuniting as Taylor watched their
children ringside. Their daughter Bonnie giggled at her mothers
performing while little newborn Vlad slept through the match and only
reacted when it was time for a bottle. They faced off against Ruby Paige
and Bailey Banks with the connection to Taylor being apparent to all of
the crew and roster but not actually being the reason for the two being
selected for the match as their personal lives weren't known to the
crowd yet.
After the match, the two hugged their husbands Afa and Sika Tui while
the kids called them, "Aunt Ruby and Bailey," with the Tui brothers
embracing Julia as she walked to the ring for her match. Julia was
facing Mickayla Jace in a special match that saw Julia using the moves
Taylor taught her and some of the moves that she had learned from
Mickayla in IoH when she was there with her. The two hit Taylor hard as
it was like seeing her career in a nutshell as they bookended her life
as Mickayla was there from the start while Julia was there when she
burst out on her own and showed that she was a woman even if she wasn't
yet ready to be a woman in public.
The final matches of the night were Taylor's pride and joy matches,
those of the few with who she had a direct hand in bringing into the NEW
and IoH during her time recuperating from the injury and the year
leading up to her confirmation surgery. They were all overlooked
wrestlers who were better than people thought and who needed a hand in
getting them over the top and noticed by the right people. Taylor did
her best to do it for them and ended up getting all of them jobs with
IoH and the indies before two got signed by NEW while the others made
names in major indies beyond Florida.
The match was a fun match and showed they were some of the best people
she had found and gave the two who weren't part of NEW exposure
internationally that was needed by them. They would parlay their match
into a contract offer once their deals with IoH were over especially as
they had familiarity and respect by the right people. IoH knew they were
going to leave and used their appearance to help their own roster as it
showed they had talent that the GCW would pay top dollar for as well as
getting a few of the departing NEW and GCW guys a closer look by IoH
making it even out in the end.
Taylor closed the show by speaking directly to the fans, both in the
arena and at home. She was tearful as she told them, "I didn't set out
to be a professional wrestler. Most don't know this but back in college,
I was just trying to become a doctor and help people get healthier. When
I wrestled in college I did so as a student and never wanted to be the
best. I competed twice and won one national championship, but I didn't
want to be one. When I earned my medical degree and finished my
residency, I had two kids and a burning desire inside of me that
wouldn't go away. I had to wrestle, if only to quell that feeling."
She looked over at Killer Gagne and smiled, telling the fans, "I trained
with the greatest wrestler I ever met and got hired at two low-level
independent promotions. When that wasn't working out, I joined a big
promotion in Florida and really learned the ropes as a wrestler there. I
met three amazing people there as well, with two being the best friends
you could ask for and a third who would become so close to me that my
parents adopted her as their own. I love her deeply and am proud of the
person she has become. She is more talented than I'll ever be and will
have a longer career than I have been blessed with. Those three women
helped shape me as a female. Tanya and Anya were instrumental in getting
me to be there for the company as a female when they needed one and none
were available, saving the jobs of several women by sacrificing my
dignity and putting my career on the line by risking exposure as I
wasn't a 'real woman' back then. They helped give me more than I could
ever tell them at the time."
Julia was in tears while Tanya and Anya hugged her deeply. Taylor looked
at her family and continued, "I moved on to Impact of Honor and was
lucky to help them in tough binds. I wrestled my first pay-per-views and
won their championship. It came at the expense of an injury to
Impossible but it was a first and one that I'll always cherish.
Impossible mentored me as a wrestler and helped me be the person I
needed to be at home and in private. I named my second son after him and
asked that his own son wear the mask I wore then as his own as he
deserved to truly follow in his father's footsteps. The mask that
Dominic wears is the same one I wore and I am honored that he is making
use of it to be the best anyone could be and one day he will be world
champion like his father."
Taylor sighed and continued, "NEW was a fun place but coming to GCW was
life-changing. I am not talking about my gender change, I'm talking
about winning over the hearts and minds of fans. All I ever wanted was
to entertain all of you and you took me into your hearts and accepted me
for what I was. I was forced by my former uncle to transition before I
was ready but you overlooked that and accepted the person inside for
what she was and let go of Matt Simpson in favor of Taylor Turner. No
amount of words can express just how much that meant to me as a person.
It means the world to me."
She was nearly in tears but she continued, "It has been a tough time the
past two years but you still are accepting of me as a wrestler but the
time has come to hang up my boots and let the next generation continue
onward. I leave you with a heavy heart but you have given me countless
memories. You are all the greatest people in the world- people who broke
the mold on fans and accepted me. Thank you."
She finally let loose her tears as Betty embraced her, followed by the
kids. They led her away with the crowd on their feet clapping in
appreciation. Taylor walked from the ring with her head held high and
waved goodbye for the final time, never to set foot inside a ring as a
competitor again.
Backstage silence reigned as nobody dared to say anything and left
Taylor to gather her thoughts while the family stuck together. The
youngest kids were asleep by the time they reached the office with their
fathers carrying them inside. Bella fought her own exhaustion but lost,
requiring Riley to carry her to the car and strap her in before she
herself buckled and fell asleep.
Taylor was slow to leave as she was in a daze, but Vinny and Davis
dragged her on and led her to the minivan to leave. They were asleep as
soon as they strapped in, with Taylor running on pure adrenaline at that
point requiring Betty to drive them home. The Simpsons were already home
and helped them with the boys while Taylor was forced by Betty to go to
bed.
In the morning, Taylor slept in while Betty made the school run. The
boys and Megan were sluggish but it was to be expected from them after
the tough night. Riley had a caffeine infusion thanks to Alexis so she
was able to perk up before class, saving her a lot of questions about
her night.
Taylor slept through much of the morning and arose around lunchtime.
Betty was already up and asked if she had thought about what she was
going to do from now on. Taylor shrugged, she would need a lot of time
to think and figure out what to do now that she had the time.
Betty sighed and asked if she had considered going back into medicine
now that the kids were older and she couldn't return to wrestling in the
ring. Taylor shook her head, telling her warmly, "I'm not sure if I
could do it. It's tough telling someone what to do and not help them
further."
Betty thought it over and told her, "You should go back to medicine and
earn your certification as a surgeon. It's one thing to be a sports
medicine specialist, it's another thing to be a surgeon. It's the best
you can do to quell that feeling, and you are decent with a scalpel- I
saw it myself in med school."
Taylor agreed and started to fill out applications to re-certify her as
a specialist as well as find herself a surgical intern placement. Her
name carried some weight and saw her old medical school help her out but
she'd have to wait until July to begin the internship. It was fine with
her as she had plenty of time to get herself reacquainted with the
multitude of issues she'd encounter with patients.
Taylor picked the kids up from school and told them the big news, with
Vinny and Davis hugging her while Bella asked if she was going to be
away like she had been while wrestling. Taylor smiled and told her,
"It's possible. Part of the job is being around people who need help and
perform surgery so I may have to work in a hospital during one of those
times. It'll take three years but I want to do it."
Taylor enjoyed her time off but had to endure the premiere of, "Someone
Who Cares" in June. The six were going to the premiere, with it being
held in Boston at the grandiose Metropolitan Theater. The theater was a
gem from the past which made it a unique experience for the cast and
crew, especially as it was both a legitimate theater as well as being
one of the largest golden age cinemas in the country.
It was a lot of fun for the kids to see the media going crazy over the
stars while they got ignored, with the kids actually being in the movie
as extras making them actually part of it in more than support for
Taylor. Taylor actually hated the red carpet treatment but as a star,
she had to endure it for the sake of the movie. She was just glad that
the actor who portrayed John Finn got them to move on before she was
asked awkward questions that she didn't want to answer letting her go
inside with the kids.
The movie was an eye-opener as John Finn was portrayed as both the
tragic hero who did what nobody was willing to do in helping an outcast
child and as the caring father-figure to two kids who needed him. Jaimie
Finn was portrayed as the forgotten child who was in desperate need of
help but nobody bothered to take notice of. Taylor felt great pride in
how Valerie Finn was the true tie that bound the small family together
through her closeness to John and Jaimie.
It was a great movie and one that she would have wanted to see despite
starring in it. She did love that she looked amazing on screen but
happily saw that Lola, the girl who portrayed Jaimie, stole the movie.
The girl was a natural, but given she was transgender as well she
understood her character better than any genetic girl could have
understood her.
The movie was a huge hit with moviegoers as it became the, "Must see"
movie of the summer as it was too great to not see at least once. It was
a financial success and saw Taylor earning $20 million from her share of
the profits through her salary and the production company's stake.
Taylor wasn't looking to make money from the movie, but her uncle
insisted she takes her share of the profits for the kids' sake.
Valerie Finn was happy that she had done so well and told her that
nobody could have portrayed her like Taylor had, giving her a big boost
in confidence as well as a hug when the reviews and financial estimate
were shown to them. Percy Turner was blunt with her, telling Taylor that
it was likely that she would get put into contention for best supporting
actress for her role and with the movies that year it seemed like a
guaranteed win for her. That didn't matter to Taylor and as long as Lola
won the award for best actress then whatever she received was icing on
the cake.
The movie kept going strong throughout the summer and grossed over $500
million at the box office. Its DVD/Blu Ray/Digital profits added another
$75 million on top of that making it one of the biggest dramas of all
time. Taylor could retire from acting and never work again from her
share of the profits but instead chose to keep studying and keep trying
to become a surgeon so she could do some good in the world and help her
former colleagues.
After the movie hoopla started to give way, Taylor started her surgical
internship at her former teaching hospital in Orlando. She shadowed her
surgical mentor for months before she built up her confidence to perform
on her own. It took her a while to get into the groove of things but
once she saw that she could do it and do it well she was a natural at
it.
The kids grew and grew and saw Vinny becoming a young man and winning
the hearts of girls in his school. He would often get into fights with
boys who sought to use Taylor's gender change as a way of cutting him
down to size but underestimated his mind and verbal abilities. He made
far too many get put into detention while he got off without punishment
as he was merely defending himself.
Davis was just like his brother and enjoyed being the middle child as he
set out on his own path in life. He had his own interests and circle of
friends that Betty would often chauffeur him around to. The kids were
more accepting of Taylor than other kids in school and coupled with the
kids who were already friends with him made for a solid core group of
boys and girls intermingling and enjoying their time.
The boys did have the usual brotherly scuffles and arguments but it was
never serious and would see Taylor punishing them rather than Betty as
Betty wisely let Taylor do it to show that they couldn't take advantage
of her being at the hospital for granted. The boys knew if she was
punishing them then they wouldn't be able to see their friends outside
of school for a week, which meant that Vinny couldn't be with the girls
Megan was friends with and Davis couldn't ride in his friend's father's
muscle car. It was a tough lesson for them to learn but one that their
parents were glad to teach them, albeit infrequently.
Bella thrived in school and enjoyed a circle of friends who were a mix
of rich kids and foster kids and never flaunted her family's wealth. Her
friends enjoyed that she was so down to earth and cared deeply about her
family and wasn't vain and look down on those who had nothing. She was
Betty's pride and joy and the most like Taylor at times even if neither
Bella nor Taylor would admit it.
Riley had things the easiest as she cruised through her senior year of
high school and prepared for her future college life. She knew that she
wanted to be involved in the entertainment industry but not as a
performer, trying hard to be her own person and not follow in her
parents' footsteps into medicine or wrestling. She spent hours at the
NEW tapings observing the crew and fell in love with the production
aspect of the industry, finding her calling in life and getting the
family's happy approval.
Betty enjoyed the quiet life at home without the kids and Taylor and
would often enjoy her time with Casey Simpson and her precocious
daughter Miley. Miley started to call Betty, "Auntie" not realizing that
she wasn't her aunt but making Betty happy to hear it anyway. Casey was
fine with the kids calling Betty and Taylor that as they were closer to
them than her own family were to her making Casey happy that the kids
would have an aunt that cared enough about them to be involved in their
daily lives.
The Turners and Simpsons were inseparable and saw the two often doing
things together during school vacations. The Simpsons' business expanded
thanks to Reginald taking control of the company and by having his
siblings oversee their own divisions the same way their uncles did with
the California arm of the business. The divisions coexisted with one
another and saw Reginald ensure their cooperation and found just where
to focus their energy and where to sell to jump the market plummets.
Taylor sought out and bought the Turner mansion for her own branch of
the family which Vince refused to buy for more than $.01 as it was more
her home than it ever was his and she had been the one to take care of
it for years while he rarely stepped foot in it. He bought a smaller
home near Taylor that would keep the family close while he rarely spent
time in the house. It was symbolic but it was also his way of escaping
New Jersey and the hassle of running the GCW empire.
Taylor kept at her surgical internship and saw her eventually earning
her certification from the state. It took a hard four years but it was
worth the effort as Dr. Taylor Turner returned to the medical field and
had a built-in clientele as GCW, IoH, FJPW, and other wrestling
promotions sent their talent to her to have surgery. She did well enough
that she caught the attention of the local professional sports teams and
saw her operate on some of their athletes when they were injured
allowing her national exposure and praise from the athletic unions and
more athletes seeking her out for help.
The kids thrived and grew to be independent and saw the next generation
of her branch of the family start to take shape as the younger kids took
to the sport of wrestling the same way Taylor had done and did so with
enthusiasm and a sense of family pride. Vinny performed well in high
school and college but stopped short of being a pro wrestler, while
Davis actually followed in his footsteps and competed internationally
then parlayed that to a run in the pros that wasn't successful for him
but did see him garner attention. He had a couple of title reigns on the
independent circuit but fizzled in NEW as he refused to use Taylor' to
help him and was happy just being a jobber until his contract ran out
and he sought out a "real" job that Taylor insisted he have just in case
he needed it.
The boys went into their own industries as Vinny chose to write while
Davis was a coach, with the two going their own direction and enjoying
their own lives despite being close friends. Milton was always by their
side and was more successful in pro wrestling, with him tearfully
earning a chance with IoH and NEW before breaking into the GCW as a solo
wrestler. His ties to the Turners were known but it was kept low-key as
he didn't want any special treatment and saw him winning titles on his
own merit.
Megan had a tougher go as she struggled in high school and college with
idiots who harassed her and weren't afraid of her brother and cousins.
She continued onward and eventually found love with a man who didn't
care about her genetics and saw her for what she was- a beautiful woman.
The two earned degrees in criminal law and worked for the state, with
the two couple adopting several children in need to save them from the
foster care system that was harming them.
Megan and her husband were the top state's attorneys in the area and saw
calls for Megan to run for the role as county state's attorney. She
refused outright, but did see her husband running instead. He won in a
tight race that saw her history brought out and the opposing candidates
being shamed publicly for the attempt to attack family of candidates
when they had claimed family were off-limits to all of them.
Out in California, Matthew and Andy had a tough go in school but
soldiered on through the storms as it would only be trouble for them if
they didn't. The two were close to the point of almost being twins at
times despite their one-year age difference. He was smaller than his
brother but Matthew balanced that out with power and speed and made
anyone who tried to harm him pay a hefty price, getting him a tough
reputation as one not to be messed with.
The boys went into business together as builders and saw them being
hired for small jobs on cable TV shows assembling sets and props until
they were forced out by unions. They sold their business to their
father, Walker, who then turned the tables on the unions by legally
forcing them out for violating the law while suing to change the
practices allowing the unions to do as they pleased and prevent small,
independent contractors from working certain jobs without first offering
it to the unions to pass on with a stiff yet illegal penalty for not
following their rules.
Walker and his brother Travis oversaw the West Coast business and
thrived, with the business going to their kids as the kids ensured that
the business thrived and expanded. Clint and Steve Simpson didn't live
to see their business grow thanks to their inherited heart issues but
knew from the way the kids were acting that it would be in good hands
thanks to Taylor's help. The Simpsons were saddened by the loss of the
brothers but happy to know that they had mended fences with family and
united the three branches into one large and thriving family.
Taylor's detractors had a tougher life as Jed and Ellie Simpson were
nothing in prison and quickly got their cellblocks in an uproar by their
arrogant behavior. They didn't realize that they were never going to win
on appeal thanks to bodycam footage of their arrests and with the
deputies having some of the strongest reputations among their department
they were fighting a losing battle. Their trials were quick and
merciless as they were convicted in a day as they had no defense against
their own words, they were sentenced to five years each in prison for
assault and hate speech.
The couple were penniless as they were cut-off from the family fortune,
one that they forfeited by their attempts to defraud their brother out
of and their own children took control over directly. They were only
able to have a small stipend at the request of their sons but in reality
it was a pittance for them. The once powerful and rich couple were
reduced to having nothing and when released they found out that they
were homeless as well as penniless- all due to their own actions.
The couple showed up at the family estate and pretended that they
belonged there but were met by their grandchildren laughing at them then
telling them to leave before they called the police. Ellie tried to say
they owned the house while Jed tried to grab at Joe Simpson's eldest
daughter, only too end up on his butt from her flinging him over with a
judo move. Joe watched with pride as the kids stood firm and towered
over their grandparents, while his wife Vera happily had her brother
personally arrest them when the kids finished with their fun and were
ready to pound the couple into a pulp.
Jed was led away in handcuffs for assault while Ellie was forced to walk
away in shame while trying to find herself a new place to live. The only
people who would take her in were brother and sister-in-law in Kentucky
and they were only doing so as a request from their dying mother. Ellie
had to find a job and keep her nose clean or she'd be out on the streets
again.
Ellie's brother was no-nonsense and forced his younger sister to start
acting like a mature adult and see that her arrogant actions and
demeanor were causing her nothing but trouble. She showed legitimate
remorse but was slow to outwardly change, but the signs were there after
a year. She found a job with the county schools and earned her keep at
the family home which she paid rent to her brother for and saw her gain
independence for the first time in her life as she was her own person.
Her brother was in contact with Joe and Reginald and told his nephews
about Ellie's change. She was too far gone with the family to ever be
their mother again but her change into a decent human was a sign that
maybe there was hope that she'd see the light and accept that her
children were right. The two tried to offer to pay him for caring for
Ellie but he wouldn't hear of it, she was kin and in the eyes of the
locals she didn't need to repay what should come free. She did pay, but
at her own demand.
Jed was sent to prison for another three years and died a lonely death.
Wally, Clint, and Steve were the only ones who attended his funeral at
the brothers' request as they put him to rest for the final time. It
closed old wounds and secured their bond as brothers allowing the twins
to pass on in peace soon after.
Harry Waite was little better than Jed was as he ended up getting beaten
daily by inmates at the prison as his attitudes and actions outraged the
inmates. He was convicted of soliciting murder and violating his parole
and ended up in prison for 10 years for the crimes, with the jury taking
no heed to his horrific language regarding the fact that Taylor was
transgender. His prior actions were what got him the heavy sentence, it
was his third conviction for a crime against Taylor and with it being a
serious one the judge took no mercy in sentencing him to the maximum
allowed.
His daughters did better under their brother's care than they had ever
done under their father's care. The two were from different mothers and
endured years of people harassing them over that fact while their father
treated them like dirt until he could exploit them for his own needs.
Constance Paine was the mother that they always wanted and through them
she was able to foster, adopt, and raise three children with her husband
Maxim, with the girls acting as dutiful aunts to the boys when not in
school.
The sisters moved in with Riley, Ginny, and their girlfriends after high
school and stayed single while the two couples got engaged and later
married. They had steady boyfriends but never went far with them as they
didn't want to become parents. They finally relented when their
boyfriends refused to let their pasts dictate their futures, showing
that they were the ones for the girls as they gave in to lust.
One sister studied accounting while another studied nursing and ended up
hired at Taylor's practice, a bit of irony that they loved as it would
cause their father's head to explode at the thought of them both working
for her. The duo married their boyfriends after graduating college and
earning certifications, getting pregnant right away and moving out of
their home so the two couples could have their own space. Taylor was
like an aunt to the girls and showed them that their father was nothing
to them and they could be their own people, she helped them along in
their pregnancies and ensured that they did the best while keeping from
overdoing things at their office.
The sisters took their husbands names and named their firstborns after
Taylor and Constance, with the two in tears as they revealed the news.
Taylor was happy for them and couldn't say no to the request, it was
from the heart and meant the world to the girls. They had to fight off
tears as the babies saw the two as aunts, with Constance loving that
feeling despite already being one through Fuller Paine's kids.
Riley's parents tried to seek her out after seeing her on TV, only for
Riley to refuse and tell them to stay away from her. They were desperate
and hoped she'd help them rebuild their lives but she had moved on and
pointed out just how horrible they had been to her and how she loved
Taylor and Betty. It was a blow to their egos but Riley didn't care,
they deserved much worse from her.
Riley and Alexis married after graduating high school and moved into
their new home with Ginny and her fiance Rose as well as the Waite
sisters. The six worked hard in school and kept each other on track and
focused on their degrees while helping smooth over any bumps in the road
with their relationships. Riley was the de-facto mother to them and as
the technical owner of the house her word was law but she never let the
power go to their heads and only acted as the head when they needed
mediation.
Riley underwent her surgery in late June but before she underwent the
surgery Alexis told her that she was pregnant. It caught them off guard
as Riley was almost impotent but she could still produce in a small
amount and all it took was one single sperm to do the job. Their prom
night adventure had been a bit more energetic and sexual than they
wanted to admit, now they had proof of it.
Parenthood suited the girls as they were focused on school and getting
things done so they could enjoy their freedom. Riley earned money from
helping the NEW crew with their work and found her calling as they
facilitated her budding understanding of the technical side of
production. The university that the NEW shows were taped at just so
happened to have a degree in television productions allowing her to be a
a full-time student while also working as an intern and learning the
ropes from inside showing just why NEW was set at the university: it was
the perfect hands-on training ground for students.
Alexis went into management and enjoyed employment overseeing the
budgets at the NEW and at the NEW Fitness Center, working with the
trainers and coaches as well accountants to have all things paid for
before traveling and working with the crew to have replacement parts in
stock for the shows. It wasn't planned but she was hired by the staff as
the best available applicant by one of the front office personnel who
wasn't involved in the day-to-day operations and didn't notice her name,
with the family being stunned that she got hired and was the best for
the job at all.
The couple had a baby boy who made the other three couples see that they
weren't cut out to be parents yet, unknowingly ensuring two would later
marry while keeping Ginny and Rose from impregnating one another until
they were truly ready. They followed-up their son with a second just
after graduating college, this time with him being planned. They would
have a third child before all of Riley's sperm ran out, but the little
girl was the light of their lives as she was to Riley what Bella was to
Taylor and gave her the little girl of her own to raise as she wished
she had been raised.
Ginny and Rose got jobs at Rose's family business as accountants but
quickly got overwhelmed by the family's needs as they were more along
the lines as cheap labor rather than accountants, making them see that
it wasn't the right job for them and they deserved better than how they
were being treated. They were able to get better jobs at Simpson
Developments and helped keep the company on the right target as the two
worked hard to ensure they didn't overspend or make bad investments.
They earned twice what they earned at their old jobs and didn't work as
hard as they had thought they'd be working and had the ears of the
department heads thanks to the two being so open and blunt and loyal to
the family that it saw the two all but running the accounting office by
the time they were ready to start a family.
The couple had three kids and called it quits, they didn't need more as
they already had enough nieces and nephews and cousins. Ginny had the
luck of having twins which only made things tougher on them but showed
that they were meant for one another as they dealt with the issues and
saw that the two boys were just attention starved and did what twins
did. Rose's son was their half-brother by blood but the twins didn't
treat her any differently and when they were in school they were simply
three siblings who just happened to have two moms and who loved one
another deeply.
The Blacks enjoyed their retirement and grandchildren and later great-
grandchildren. Jerry Black and his sons grew close to one another as
they bonded over parenthood with Richard Black being the one who went to
him the most. Richard was his father's son and endured years of issues
due to Taylor but when he finally earned his MD and became an orthopedic
surgeon alongside Taylor it was the greatest feeling in the world and
all thanks to Taylor's own medical schooling that inspired him.
Richard and his wife Nora enjoyed three children together, two of which
were adopted thanks to the couple not feeling the need to have more
naturally after Nora had a tough pregnancy that almost killed her. His
brother Hank was all the reasoning they needed as he was the best
brother in Richard's eyes and gave him all of the advice he'd ever need
even if he didn't want to hear it. The kids were happy to have a loving
home and cared deeply about the couple, taking to them immediately with
his new son being a lot like Richard and Nora's new daughter being
desperate for motherly affection and advice.
Nora pursued her degree in education and became a teacher, getting hired
immediately by GCW to act as their tutor for children of wrestlers and
based her out of Orlando. The NEW and several of the GCW wrestlers
immediately used her to help them as their children were needed and once
Richard earned his certification they were on the road with the GCW
full0time with their kids in tow and getting an experience of a
lifetime. Nora kept at the job until it was time to put down permanent
roots and give the kids a semblance of normalcy, with Richard taking a
job at Taylor's practice as her colleague while Nora sought out and
earned a job teaching in an elite private school teaching the children
of many of the area's top business people and consulate officials.
Hank Black and his wife Lillian lived the quiet life and chose to keep
themselves separate from the family. The fact that their daughter Ginny
was best friends with Riley was an anomaly as their elder son Jerome
kept to himself and only bothered his aunts at Christmas and Easter or
when the whole family got together when the GCW was in town. Hank and he
were close to the point of being the same, and saw Jerome going into
writing as a reporter but turning quickly to commentary as it proved to
be both fruitful and gave him an outlet for venting his frustrations
about life and sports.
Hank's column was must-read for many in the region as he wasn't afraid
to go at people who needed to be taken down a peg and he backed his
rants up with facts and figures that often made the readers gasp in
shock as they were easy to obtain and directly refuted claims by those
he targeted. He was a key figure in the Orlando area and made a lot of
money from his syndication and eventually took on a role as a radio
commentator and was vital in several political candidates' rise and
downfall as the listeners heard just how the candidates really were and
ignored the rhetoric of their opponents in either taking a liking to
them or taking them to task for lying about their accomplishments.
Lillian was always close to Betty but she enjoyed letting her best
friend sort out her own life. Lillian did her best work on her own and
ensured that the family's investments were booming and nobody took
advantage of their finances. She was the quiet strength behind Taylor's
fortune and ensured that Taylor had enough to live off of should she
ever have to retire early, with enough to go back to school if she had a
desire to return to medicine- prophetic thinking, but done for an eye on
continuing her work.
The two were lifelong friends and that friendship never tarnished even
if Hank and Taylor drifted apart as the needs of their jobs and the
growth of their children made their schedules hard to sync. She and
Betty talked daily and enabled Betty to know just how well the family
was doing during the hard times of others while letting them know when
to slow down expenses so they didn't overspend and need to tap into
their savings. It was a tightrope but Lillian was a hard person to go
against which Betty loved her for and Taylor had always admired.
The couple got empty nest syndrome when Ginny moved out during college,
leading Betty and Taylor to smile. The couple had refused to have any
more children after Ginny's tough birth so Betty gave the suggestion
that maybe they should open up their home to children in need of loving
parents. Lillian was in tears while Hank tried to remain stoic, but
understood that it was his giving back to the system after he had been
blessed with falling into the arms of the Blacks when he was 13.
The couple adopted a brother and sister who were struggling to find a
home due to the young girl being stubborn and fighting everyone who
wanted to separate them while the boy was deemed too effeminate and not
worth the troubles that he'd bring them when they got older. Lillian's
eyes lit up as she saw in the boy Hank at the same age while the little
girl was so much like Betty. The couple embraced the kids and within a
month had filed for adoption, getting approved two months later.
Jerry and his wife Carey retired when Ginny gave birth, ensuring that
the girls were going to be alright before taking a long needed vacation
around the world. The couple were in constant contact with their family
and ensured that everyone was doing well while ensuring them they were
doing fine on their own. Their trip hit all of the spots they had wanted
to see all of their lives and saw that they were no longer needed by
their family but were wanted, which gave them peace of mind that their
job was done.
The forgotten member of the Black family, Jerome, simply went into the
military after graduating college. It was unexpected but all of the
family supported his decision. He was a lifer and loved the Navy, with
the family enjoying his visits home on leave and seeing the reactions of
his bigoted colleagues as they learned the truth about his cousin and
aunt.
Jerome didn't find love until he retired, but did father a child while
on shore leave that found his way to the family and the care of Jerome's
parents. Hank was upset at Jerome but the little boy reminded him so
much of his son that it was tough to stay angry. Jerome wasn't able to
get out until his retirement and the boy simply couldn't stay with him
so Hank and Lillian had to raise him for Jerome along with their two new
children.
The boy was much like his aunt and caused the family to be thankful that
he was living with them and not his mother's family as her family were
notorious hotheads who hated anything that didn't fit their narrow view
on how people should live. He was examined and found to be transgender
and with the consent of Jerome they allowed him to transition to her.
Jerome retired due to a bad injury to his leg that left him with a nasty
scar so was able to be the father she needed at the right time to help
her most.
He took up writing again and found himself in-demand as a commentator
for various issues as he had his father's ability to rip apart your
arguments with sound research and logic. His job enabled him to stay at
home and be a father and be involved with his daughter's social life. It
was during one of these events that he met and fell in love with a woman
whose own son was participating.
The couple talked for two hours then agreed to meet again, with the two
finding that the other was what they had missing in their lives. They
spent hours together while the kids were in school and they were alone,
leading to her becoming pregnant and him proposing. The couple married
and adopted one another's children, leading to his daughter having a
mother that she could idolize and her son to have a father who cared
deeply about him and wasn't afraid to be there for him as a man.
She came from a prominent family so had no need to work but did find a
job as a receptionist to keep herself occupied during the day. Jerome
was happy to work from home and be there for the kids when she had to
fill in for a sick colleague, with the kids loving the arrangement. The
kids gave their great-grandparents joy in giving them attention and
helping Jerome while seeing the cycle of things continue on as the kids
were so much like their grandfather and great-aunt Betty that it warmed
their hearts.
Wally and Nancy were active with the NEW until Wally's heart started to
give him issues, forcing him to retire from the business. He took his
retirement in stride and worked with the production crew to setup
matches and find new talent. He had a knack for finding talent that
others overlooked and much like Taylor he did so because he could see
the traits that were ready for honing, ones that were used against the
wrestlers by other companies but were traits needed to be true stars.
Nancy continued on as lead designer and helped with the design of sets
and even graphics. She was a versatile artist and with her abilities she
could ensure talent had the right designs that fit their needs and drew
attention to them in all of the right ways. It was tough at time to deal
with their egos but she had over four decades of practice so it was old
hat by the time she considered retirement and leaving the job to Riley
and her colleagues.
The couple spent their twilight years watching the kids grow older and
enjoyed being grandparents as the Tuis enjoyed being close to them.
Wally found the son he had been missing in Mack and became a father that
he didn't have to always fight to please while Julia found a father who
loved her as herself and didn't need her for anything other than a
daughter. She loved them deeply and was proud that the two were serious
about her being family so much they left everything to her at Taylor's
request.
Julia competed for another three years before she had to retire due to
an injury and another pregnancy. It was for the best as the pregnancy
was hard on her body and getting back into shape was causing her to have
serious health issues. She transitioned to being Mack's manager and
helped guide him through the waning years of his career and into his
career as a commentator and occasional wrestler.
Julia served another purpose with the company: that of a mentor to the
younger women. She told them about the dangers to their bodies and how
pregnancy wasn't the end of the world for them despite what the indie
promoters claimed. They took to her with great pride and gave her
something that she missed: that of a caring mentor and shoulder to cry
on during tough times.
Mack encouraged her to get a degree in psychology and take the job as a
counselor to the company as she was a natural older sister/mother/aunt
to the ladies. She went to school online and during days off and earned
her degree in two years, with her three kids by her side when she
received her degree. She was hired immediately by the company in a new
role and kept at her education to the point that she earned her MS in
psychology and worked with the roster in dealing with their various
issues.
Mack retired on top after a knee injury forced him to give up his title,
moving into a commentary role that worked well for him as he was the
silent type who added to conversations and made the other two
commentators look foolish while making himself into the voice of the
fans. He was a fan favorite and was never for want of action as he
called most of the GCW shows as well as learned to perform the play-by-
play duties at NEW as an emergency fill-in. He had his own phrases that
became so widely used that they became part of the fabric of American
culture, earning him immortality in pop culture.
His voice was unique and he was able to make different voices, earning
him jobs as a voice-over artist for cartoons and anime shows. His kids
loved that he could make funny voices and serious ones and not even miss
a beat, with Julia blushing at him showing off whenever possible. The
kids mellowed him as he took a strong role in their upbringing while
Julia studied, becoming a model father in the process.
Afu Tasi had his surgeries to become whole with his doctors being able
to bypass the typical waiting periods as he was so strongly supported
and associated himself as male that it was pointless to wait. His wife
was by his side as were their children, with his son proud of his father
for being man enough to have something so drastic done to him. He hid
his scars by having the skin needed for the phaloplasty taken from his
inner thighs and always covered them, it was a badge of honor for some
men but to him it was a private battle that only his wife should get to
see.
Afu returned after his scars healed and did better in NEW than anyone
could have expected. He was a quickster, able to use his small size and
speed to get out of trouble then used his raw power to take the larger
wrestlers down. Few realized that he had once been Jasmine and those who
did know didn't say anything about his change of gender lest he get
upset at them and take it out on them as his strength was legendary
among the GCW as being only second to Brute Strawman despite being a
woman then.
When the news was eventually revealed, the NEW ignored it and went about
business as usual. This only caused outrage in some but was really just
a load of hot air. Afu was protected by his colleagues and anyone who
tried to have a go at him were corrected, with the media being kicked
out of several of the NEW house shows as well as from the Take-On event
the day before Soul Survivor.
Afu reached the GCW after two years working down in NEW and did alright
among the men of their cruiserweight division but didn't crack the main
roster full-time as he wasn't as talented as the others. He was fine
among the cruiserweights as it was his weight class and he befriended a
few of them who understood his issues as they had dealt with it as
smaller men among big brutes. He was a perennial contender for the title
but never did get the win, but that was fine with him as it was a steady
job and decent pay and his wife was able to care for the kids while he
was away on the weekends.
When he retired, he was hired by the Killer Gagne Wrestling Academy to
replace Killer by Killer's own request. He wanted Afu to take over for
him as he was the right kind of person for the job: someone who had been
at the bottom and clawed his way back to the top. He did well in his job
and earned a steady paycheck that was supplemented by his retirement
savings and his wife's own steady income.
His wife remained with the GCW and NEW as an interviewer, earning high
praise for her candidness and ability to make wrestlers human while
continuing to move things forward in storylines. She was a natural as
she was a caring person and who wouldn't let people push her around
while keeping her cool. The heels loved working with her as their
interviews would often led to great matches and pushed them further up
the card at pay-per-views.
She would be a fixture at NEW as their kids grew, with GCW making her
part of the fabric of the show. She had a lot of say in how the show was
presented while she also worked with the wrestlers, giving her own
critiques on how to do the best interviews while being in-character and
as themselves. It was a tough job but lucrative as she earned triple
what she would have earned as a normal employee at one of the local TV
stations as a reporter.
Sika and Ruby Paige were madly in love and had three children together,
with the second two being twins. It was a surprise but Ruby blushed as
she explained her mother's side of the family had multiple twins so it
was expected of her at some point. The two were always together and when
the kids got old enough they settled in Los Angeles where Ruby's parents
helped with the kids while they were away.
Ruby wrestled for another two years but after the twins were born her
skills started to diminish and she feared injuries especially as she was
being paired with lesser talented women. Her old stable broke-up when
Taylor retired meaning she was on her own much of the time and facing
the younger crop, which was starting to wear her down. She finally took
her leave during a tough loss that saw both women in a tight match that
was a, "Loser retires" match, with Ruby losing in a legitimate loss to
the youngster.
Afa and Bailey Tui were little better but they waited on having their
second pregnancy until she was in a lull in storytelling, allowing her
to miss time but not impact the storylines. Bailey was better with the
fans so she was able to last longer but she saw the writing on the wall
after he 33rd birthday and asked to retire so she could move on to other
things. She was still considered young and could have gone on for
another few years as a top-level talent but she chose herself over her
titles.
Afa kept the brothers' bail bonds business going while Sika was head of
GCW security but when their wives retired it was time for them to return
to what they had done before. Bailey and Ruby joined them at the
business as a secretary and legal assistant, with the two smiling at
hiding their talents for so long. The four kept it as a family business
and enjoyed bringing in cousins as needed for extra muscle and as a way
of ensuring that they weren't taken advantage of by shady characters.
Business boomed and saw the couples fending off media attention as they
were often the ones who had to be called in to apprehend high profile
bail jumpers, with their prey never knowing they were going after them.
They worked hard and earned a high price for their services, making the
four rich while the company grew beyond what they could do with just the
two brothers. Their cousins joined full-time and saw the brothers
turning to their legal side as they ensured payment by those who owed
them money and ensured that the courts weren't using them as a way of
getting revenge on certain people who angered powerful politicians, a
huge probability in the shady world that was California politics.
Percy and Faye Turner kept the GCW Studios working with a variety of
movies released through them, both theatrically and direct-to-video.,
"Someone Who Cares" was their third-biggest hit, behind the movie series
based on Wendy White-Clark's book series that Taylor starred in and one
of John Finn's other movies- one done through Inferno Pictures and
released by the studio. Their success was tied to a strong deal with
Inferno Pictures but John insisted that he take on other projects which
later harbored a slew of potential movie deals that were tough calls for
the studio but worth it in the long run as they garnered high praise and
made Percy seen as one of the top power brokers in all of Hollywood.
The couple enjoyed their grandchildren and in-laws as their three kids
grew into respectable adults. He had the benefit of employing his sons-
in-law in different capacities while his daughter-in-law worked at her
family business but still kept close to them. The trio treated the
couple with love and often garnered jealousy from their own parents for
that.
Percy had a slew of side investments that paid off in droves as the GCW
Productions subsidiary made a steady profit from their investments and
even saw them becoming a go-to place for trying to get your movie made
if you wanted a strong investment and had a solid idea that was
workable. The movies weren't critical darlings, but they made a profit
for all and were the catalyst for several new stars and young directors
to be made. Francesca Herman was merely the first of many who had that
happen to them but saw her as their biggest success story and even then
she was more of a colleague since she was both the star as well as one
of the executive producers for her films.
Faye was a homemaker and Percy's personal assistant and had many in the
industry claiming that she was the power behind the power, yet she was
her own person and one who happily deferred to her husband on most
decisions and only going against him when she believed that he was
making a bad investment- which she was always right about. She was a
great help to actresses who were intimidated or thought that they had to
be sexual toward the producers to get hired for the part, giving them
advice and direction while assuring them their abilities mattered most.
That earned her a solid reputation as a no-nonsense person who looked
after the actors, keeping them from predators who would ruin their
reputations for not letting them have their way with them.
Faye put that reputation to the test as she went to bat for an actress
who refused to sleep with the sleazy rival of Percy, a man who was seen
as the most powerful man in Hollywood yet nobody could see how he could
wield such power with such a terrible reputation towards women. Faye
happily told the man he was full of hot air and the actress was someone
who would win an Oscar in two years, then told the assembled crowd that
she'd wager $5 million of her personal wealth that the actress would be
in not one but three blockbusters before then. It was a fool's bet as
the actress was slated to be a prominent star in an upcoming sci-fi
series as well as GCW Production's new superhero movies yet he took it.
She not only was a star but it showed that the man had purposely tried
to devalue the movies by going after the theater chains for trying to
show them, hoping that their pulling the movies would lower the amount
earned yet it backfired on him as the movies grew in popularity despite
him. Faye grinned as she sent her lawyers to collect her payment, then
exposed the many as a fraud who needed to constantly churn out new
movies to fund his lavish lifestyle as he had no actual assets to his
name. He had nothing and when exposed he had no support in Hollywood
anymore as people shunned him.
Faye donated the money to charity and happily received an Oscar as a
producer for the movies that had won awards, with the unfortunate
actress winning "Best Supporting Actress" for her role in the third
movie she had starred in. Faye had become a force to be reckoned with
and was one of the top people in all of Hollywood for her actions, with
Percy happily telling her that she earned her reputation and it was one
that all should be happy having. Faye just grinned, she was only acting
as a mother and loved to be that role for the young ladies of the
industry.
Percy and Faye's children Bart Turner, Kate Sargent, and Sally York had
to live up to their father's reputation but thrived on their own and
moved on to their own jobs. Sally was a talented writer who had caught
the eye of the wildly successful writer Hannah Smith and helped Sally
develop her own successful book series in the teen genre. She and her
husband Dickson worked together as illustrator and author and enjoyed
financial success and peace of mind that they didn't have to work again
as their series was a vast moneymaker and was turned into a hit TV and
movie series.
Sally and Dickson didn't have another child after their baby boy was
born, the three kids were enough for them. The kids were happy to travel
around the world and take part in their parents' book signings as they
dressed as characters. The kids adored their parents and even though
Sally's twins weren't his blood Dickson treated them like his own to the
point of them refusing to even acknowledge their birth father's
existence when he tried to contact them after his release from prison.
Kate and her husband Ricky were ran the GCW Theater and worked with New
York producers to put on shows that were unique yet enjoyable for the
audience. They were the main showcase for the rising Daisy Peterson and
her husband Matt Fisher, two members of the "Finn Family" who also
happened to be involved in the theater world. Daisy was their go-to for
producing plays as they saw eye-to-eye for the way things should go with
the plays and knew here to make changes to strengthen them.
The couple had two children, both girls, and enjoyed Ricky going crazy
as the girls were hyperactive and were often involved in a variety of
activities. They excelled at martial arts and softball, winning a number
of tournaments and state championships before college. They were also
precocious and started to date boys at an early age, never going far
with them but still following in Kate's footsteps socially.
The theater was a hit as Kate and Ricky found plays to produce and
supplemented the downtime with local high school productions that
allowed students the chance to both experience working in a real theater
as well as act in front of a large audience. The whole local high school
production idea was a tax write-off yet it turned into a financially
successful event that saw several kids get selected for large
productions on Broadway. Kate enjoyed seeing the kids' faces as they saw
the media gathered and the audience, knowing that this would be the
highlight of their young lives and told for decades to come.
Bart was the one member of the Turner family who chose to follow in
their grandfather's footsteps as he joined the GCW corporate offices as
an intern then as a junior VP after toiling away for months in the
mailroom and other menial jobs. He knew the ins and outs of the various
subsidiaries and was able to show places where they could expand their
portfolio and gain new avenues of revenue. He was able to excel where
others failed, showing that he was more than the son of the studio head
and grandson of the President and CEO of the company by bringing in
revenue from places that others had failed before and doing so with new
ideas instead of the classic "only game in town" mentality.
He and his wife Reese had four children spread across six years. The two
were ravenous in bed, with the two going no more than three nights in a
row without sex. Reese drew the line a four kids, she cared deeply about
her husband but the four kids were quickly draining her energy.
Bart was the doting father and ensured the kids had everything they
needed in life even if they hated to earn much of them. The kids had to
work hard in school to get good grades while also keeping their home
clean and rooms spotless. It was a lot of work for them to do but the
kids had their parents' minds and could do whatever they wanted if they
set their minds to it.
Bart was groomed to take over for his aunt Stacy when she was promoted
to leading the business side when Vince retired for good. Bart accepted
this but didn't act any differently when the news broke that he was to
be the new chief business officer of the company to his father's chief
entertainment officer. The family were pleased that he followed his
heart and chose to be his own man, even if it meant he'd be part of the
family business and leading it some day.
Ollie and Chase Turner shied away from the limelight and acted as their
own people. They were close to their mother once their father's
influence broke and saw the becoming active in school and going out of
their way to be different to the point of being leaders of their school.
The boys grew into men and had the world handed to them as they were
popular in whatever they chose to do.
Ollie was active in the community and found his calling as a
firefighter, doing his part to help save the lives of people of Bergen
County instead of taking from them as his father had done. He earned a
BS in fire science while in the National Guard before earning a full-
time job with the county fire department, which he followed-up with
training as an investigator and saw him earning respect for his vital
job.
He married his college sweetheart and had two children, with the two
never knowing their grandfather nor did they care to know him when King
Reign was released from prison. The boys were happy to be Ollie's sons
and enjoyed toying with their parents as much as they loved doting on
their cousins. The boys enjoyed fun with Taylor during vacations and
always kept their respect of her even as they learned that she wasn't
always female, showing that pasts didn't matter and who you were
mattered most.
Chase was a different story. He found love difficult as girls would
often use him as a way of getting at his family's wealth and saw him
swear-off women for years. After earning a degree in criminal justice,
he went to law school and served as a defense lawyer and legal adviser
to the GCW where he found the heart of a young mother who was
unknowingly caught in her boyfriend's legal issues despite not having
any part in what her boyfriend had really done for a living.
The two had a spark and Chase fell hard for her, helping her beat the
claims then getting her help and the proper support. After a second
encounter as she tried to keep her ex-boyfriend away from their son, the
two started to date and found that they had a shared past in school and
even were at the same place at the same time and in the same company but
neither took notice of the other. Fate was fickle as they were meant to
be together yet always drifted apart due to circumstances.
The couple dated until she became pregnant, forcing Chase to marry her
and adopt her son as his own at the little boy's request. The two were a
perfect couple and through her he found his balance in life. Her son
loved him as his own father and defended Chase whenever possible
especially as kids at his school tried to make him out to be other than
his father despite Chase adopting him.
Chase ignored the idiocy of people and happily told anyone who said his
son wasn't his real son that it took more to be a father than genetics
and he was his father no matter what anyone said. His wife and sons
loved him, the kids mattered more to him than the opinions of anyone who
weren't family. When he was blessed with a third child he happily
celebrated the little girl's arrival with his wife and sons.
Chase's wife gave birth to a little boy then another girl, with the kids
centering Chase and giving him a reason to excel in what he did and try
to bring justice to the needy. He ran for DA against a woman who had the
backing of a major political party and won outright, showing the county
and state that he wasn't a flash-in-the-pan and the voters cared more
about the office than political connections. He would serve for six
terms before retiring and returning to defending those in need, living
off of his trust fund that his wife had groomed for him into a tidy
fortune for him.
Chase and Ollie's mother Stacy was the face of GCW for years, taking
over for Vince when Vince had to undergo surgery during Taylor's early
childhood and never giving up the power to her father despite it being
his company. Vince was happy to retire without really retiring, he was
always around but let his daughter lead the company as she saw fit. His
only mistake was putting his faith in King Reign as the new head of
operations and not seeing just how toxic he was to the company and how
much he had undermined Stacy from right beside her.
Once she was divorced from King Reign, she was free to do as she pleased
yet never chose to date as the company took over all of her time when
she wasn't at home. She cut back her traveling to just two nights a week
so she was only gone Sunday through Tuesday morning while her colleague
Garnet Houston Pete took over operating Tuesday Lightning, their
secondary brand, for her. Her sons were happy to have her back in their
lives and overseeing their activities, with the two changing into boys
that made her proud once they saw that her for what she was: the strong,
loving mother they needed.
Her cutback in traveling allowed Garnet Houston Pete to turn Tuesday
Lightning into a show that was on par with Monday Night Wars but its own
unique blend of comedy, action, and a lot of fan interaction that
wouldn't work on Monday. Stacy kept Taylor from the show as she wasn't
that good with comedy, aside from occasional work to put over a pay-per-
view match she was barely on the show. As Stacy's baby and the only show
she controlled directly, it received all of her attention at home which
was why she relied so heavily on Taylor for her input on Monday Night
Wars and NEW work.
Stacy took full control of the company when her father finally
officially retired from the GCW, with the staff just treating it as any
other day at the office as the only thing to change was the name on the
door to the CEO's office. Stacy made several changes to the senior staff
as she replaced those who were just "yes men" who climbed the ranks by
buttering-up management and replaced them with people who were able to
do the job and do it right despite it maybe going against her wishes,.
Those weren't people who were attempting to circumvent her demands, they
were trying to do what was best for the GCW and were justified and that
she knew whose judgment she'd agree with eventually.
Stacy was just as good as her father at running the business and
delegated to those who had the ability to ensure things went as planned
and the company turned a profit from their shows. They stopped going to
certain cities that weren't drawing well and went to profitable cities
more often, causing the regional shows to pick up more revenue than in
the past while the indies got to pickup the slack from the lack of GCW
shows in the former cities helping those companies immensely. Their New
York shows were legendary but when the cost to produce them wasn't
enough to put on shows, Stacy chose business over history and stopped
the usage of the most famous sports arena in the world in favor of
arenas in nearby Brooklyn and Newark that made them a profit.
Stacy remained as the face of the company until her late 70s and turned
the company over to the only person who could do it justice: Taylor. She
had to be coaxed into retiring from her job as a surgeon but Stacy made
the offer too good to pass up. It was her livelihood, they needed her to
run things now.
King Reign didn't fare well in life after he was released from prison
for his crimes against Taylor. He was blackballed by every wrestling
organization around the world and couldn't find legitimate work in even
the most forgiving of independent companies, ones known to ignore past
issues by wrestlers in favor of ticket sales. He was humiliated by fans
as they touted Taylor's many accomplishments while he was a has-been who
was exposed by many in the business as being a fraud who used his wife
to climb the GCW ladder and kept legitimate competitors from achieving
their rightfully earned title shots.
King never regained his in-ring self as his post-prison body was a
shadow of its former glorious self and his poor abilities in the ring
showcased just how terrible he truly was as a wrestler and how much he
needed others to sell his matches. He was forced to retire in disgrace
and work the autograph circuit but that was tough as few places would
allow him to be there thanks to his criminal record and many other
wrestlers dropping out if he was allowed to be there. His past caught up
with him as he delved into the world of drugs and went back to prison,
this time for good as he killed a man for refusing to sell him any more
prescription medications after he was cut off by his doctor.
Taylor and the family felt bad for King after the news of his conviction
for murder was reported. He was a scumbag, but he was still the boys'
father. Neither Ollie nor Chase cared about him, and for what he had
done to their mother behind her back for years he deserved nothing but
pity and anger.
Vince Turner retired at the ripe of age of 90. He chose to retire after
all of his grandchildren had been set into their own ways and were
thriving, with Ollie and Chase being the two that he feared would be
stuck without a purpose in life except living off of the family fortune.
He was happy to give Stacy the company to control, with Bart taking over
the business side and Percy continuing to head the studio.
Vince's wife Patty had urged him to retire when he did as she didn't
want to spend her waning years on the road nor for Vince to work himself
into an early grave. He was healthy and happy, he didn't need to do
anything anymore as Stacy, Taylor, Percy, and Bart were doing just fine.
It was tough to deny his wife's dying request as she he knew she really
wanted him home with her to allow her to pass on happy.
His last true act as the head of GCW was to purchase Impact of Honor
from the heirs of Dixie Carter, an act done at her request as her
children had no interest in running the business and she didn't want it
to flounder or even go under. Vince merged it with NEW and released many
of the lesser wrestlers, with only a few remaining with the company as
many were either too highly paid to justify keeping or they weren't as
good as IoH had made them out to be. The former IoH stars tried to sue
GCW for their release but Taylor worked with the lawyers and showed that
they had no recourse.
Two years after Vince retired, Patty passed away from heart failure and
saw Vince become a broken man. He spent all of his time with Wally in
Florida with father and son getting to know one another as they should
have known each other from the start. Wally loved Vince despite Vince
never telling him the truth until it was dragged out by King, he had
shown him that he loved him too many times to recall and was doing his
best to be the mentor that Wally needed instead of the mentor who needed
him.
Vince passed on at the age of 100, with his funeral being the largest
ever in the state of Florida and one that was shown online for the world
as he was revered by millions of fans despite being hated by them when
he was in-character as, "The big boss." He was interred beside his
beloved Patty in the family's private crypt, joining his own parents and
grandparents, keeping the family tradition alive. The family were
devastated but they continued on, just as Vince wanted and prepared them
to do.
There wasn't a dry eye in the church as people recalled the real man
that fans never got to see, complete with jokes and tears over things
told to them in confidence that Vince kept to himself right to the
grave. Stories about him giving them money to buy a permanent home and
ensuring that they saved for when they retired, of when he went to their
bedside after a nasty accident left hem bedridden and on the verge of
being fired for not being able to perform, of when he loaned money to
wrestlers to be by their wives' sides when they were dying of some
disease or cancer and refusing to accept repayment. He was a man who was
nothing like people saw on camera and who would give you the shirt off
of his back to keep you warm and dry while ensuring that you had a
support network in place to help you further.
Vince's legacy was one of charity and careful spending to improve the
wealth of others. He gave over a billion dollars in his lifetime, with
many charities never knowing that he had been the one to keep them
afloat during tough financial times or had promoted their cause without
taking payment from the folks hired by the charity to promote them. He
was a godsend to thousands of kids in need and who gave a few the trip
of a lifetime as he gave them a chance to be part of the GCW then
introduced those same kids to people who wanted to adopt them as their
own children, making their dreams of having a family come true and
helping those same families with new jobs and homes to accommodate the
new kids.
Taylor and Betty enjoyed watching their children grow into different
people. It was tough to see Riley leave the nest but it was unavoidable
and she ensured that they were always there to give her advice and be
the best parents you could ever want. She worshiped them and strove in
life to better herself first as a daughter then as an employee then as a
mother.
Betty eventually returned to her job as a doctor, working as a general
practitioner instead of her prior job as an emergency medicine
specialist. It was easier on her as the hours were less and she only had
to go out at an odd hour when it was a dire emergency and her help was
needed. She liked the new job as it gave her time to be with the kids
after her shift while they got rides home from the Simpsons.
The couple kept to themselves most of the time but when they did
interact with other parents their jobs caught others by surprise as
those who didn't know about their medical degrees couldn't believe that
either were capable of being doctors especially after Taylor's
retirement from pro wrestling. Betty enjoyed seeing the smug look on
parents' faces evaporate when she often told them their fad diets and
false scientific studies into the rearing of their children were harmful
to the point of being dangerous to their kids and others. She didn't
hold back and frequently reported the dangerous parents to the state
child services and saw multiple families implode as they had to react to
the legal issues while failing miserably to get back at Betty.
Betty retired from her practice when Taylor became the new CEO of GCW
Entertainment after Stacy's promotion. Betty moved north to take up
residence at the Turner estate in New Jersey and ensured that Stacy and
Chase weren't overwhelmed by their jobs. She loved playing the caring
cousin to Chase and was even happier when he moved out to live with his
new wife and kids, being there for his wife as she endured pregnancy
without support and ensuring that her son's needs were being met as well
as hers.
Taylor's surgical career was highly successful as she showed that she
should have been a surgeon all along but her heart just wasn't in it to
be more than an assessor of damage at the start of her career. She had
to build her reputation but with the GCW close at hand and a steady
stream of clients she was never for want of patients. She had a hefty
price-tag for her services but always gave steep discounts to those who
were just breaking into the business and/or who worked for less than
reputable promoters as it wasn't really their fault that the promoters
didn't set the rings up properly.
She kept active with the kids and tried to keep from scheduling
surgeries that would take more than the morning and rarely took them on
weekends unless the kids were busy elsewhere. Sometimes she had to break
that vow, but it was always for a major issue that couldn't wait or the
patient was someone young such as a young teen who suffered an injury
through parental pressure. Betty and the kids understood, it was someone
who needed her help and she had a soft spot for kids in trouble
especially ones pushed too far by idiotic adults who were reliving their
dreams through their children.
She kept active with the GCW during most evenings as she used the
writing and rewriting as a form of relaxation. Her colleagues thought it
was hilarious until they learned that it wasn't a joke and she was a
longtime writer and involved with the company from the top down. Taylor
was responsible for many of the behind the scenes changes that occurred
from intergender matches that were truly intergender to the creation of
a legitimate title for those matches to holding fan favorite nights that
gave stars a chance to be in front of the fans without the need to
overperform to sell their characters to win fans over.
He "Ladies night" idea lived on and thrived to the point that the guys
insisted on it as they got to work close to home and gave much-needed
money to them as well as publicity to local indie promotions that they
had started out in and who they owed their careers to. They could never
top the first one, but they never tried to top it- just move forward and
listen to the ladies' needs. It was always their biggest night of the
quarter and served as a mid-point for feuds as it gave everyone a break
and allowed them to be themselves for a night and still be heels and
babyfaces.
When Stacy was promoted, Taylor had to take direct control of the day to
day operations of the GCW and moved to New Jersey to be closer to GCW's
headquarters. By that time, the kids had already grown up and Bella had
started high school allowing her to move without anything anchoring them
to Florida anymore. The boys still lived in the Florida mansion, but it
was only until they got their families sorted and they earned enough to
buy a home- at their own demand despite Taylor insisting on buying them.
It was tough for her to run the company but Stacy separated the powers
evenly between Percy, Taylor, and Bart with Taylor's needs always
getting priority and forcing those who disagreed with her getting her
way forced to see that as a wrestling company first and foremost their
needs had to be taken care of. Taylor didn't need to be a businesswoman,
but she did have to talk with the other two about the use of her
wrestlers and enjoyed watching some nitwit low-level manager try to
refuse to release someone who was of no use to the company from their
contract while justifying overspending for talent that had no shot at
ever being successful in the company. The headquarters personnel knew
never to cross her and if they did they were either fired or quit when
colleagues wouldn't let them live their idiocy down.
Taylor never acted again, despite pleas from directors to have her hired
to play certain parts in multiple movies. She was just fine with four
movies to her credit as well as multiple GCW-centric productions that
made use of the current roster in a variety of roles. She loved doing
voice-over work for animated TV movies and shows and strove to take on
as many roles she could, but only doing so while she was on vacation
which she spent at home in Florida.
Her role as Valerie Finn did something completely unexpected to most
except the Turners and Finns- she was nominated for an Oscar for it. She
won "Best Supporting Actress" in "Someone Who Cares" and was nominated
for "Best Actress" in "True Friends and Family" but lost out to the
delightful Lana, who was the actress who played Jaimie Finn in that
move. In the finale of the trilogy, she was again nominated but lost to
Cat Finn- the actress who portrayed Hannah Smith and who had more to do
with the plot as a whole instead of just having one big scene in the
movie.
Taylor displayed her Oscar in her office in a prominent place while the
front lobby showed the GCW's Oscars for "Best Picture" which turned out
to be for other movies that they had financed and to which Taylor had
been an executive producer for despite not being involved in them other
than financing. It was a big eye-opener for those who entered as it
showed that the GCW was more than just a wrestling company and they were
a true entertainment company. She happily told anyone who asked that she
was just a humble executive and what was done was done with her blessing
but not her control.
The job was tough at times, but Taylor thrived to the point that she was
better at it than Stacy. She loved being the HBIC at GCW but refused to
get in front of a camera except when the company was in town for shows.
The call to the ring was strong but she had long since moved past it
held true to her vow, only returning to the ring when she was inducted
into the GCW Hall of Fame five years after her retirement from the ring.
Her health suffered several blows during the years as her back needed
surgery several times that saw her requiring braces and supports but
never causing her enough issues to stop learning as a surgeon or as an
executive. She refused to take painkillers and after a third surgery
finally had full relief from the pain that she had to endure. She
celebrated by simply sleeping-in and doing nothing, which was a shock to
the office but right in line with what Taylor would do.
For decades Taylor sought inner peace. After finally becoming the boss
of GCW she found that peace. She was whole as a person, had an amazingly
lucrative job that people would kill to have, and had a loving family
who were the greatest people you could ever know. Taylor had gone
through a living hell and walked away smelling like roses instead of
brimstone, she had everything she had ever wanted and in droves. She was
Taylor Turner, and looking back on her life she was proud of what she
had done with it.
The End.
