But it’s sheer size allowed it to be seen, she dropped her water bottle and stared at it thinking of what to do with her last moments! “The government is preparing to launch a nuclear missile in hopes of de-skrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!” Suddenly the feed cut off!
Halle was stunned, “What the fuck!?” she said, “What the hell happened!?” she demanded.
Her assistant leaned over, “Here miss!” she said and she showed Halle her feed which was still up! But how? The news anchor a woman pressed her hand to her ear, “Ladies and gentlemen this just in! The meteor hit one of the news satelites and is breaking apart into much smaller pieces!” she said sounding relieved the view switched to the meteorite which was indeed breaking into much smaller pieces. The meteor was about as big as the moon before but the pieces were smaller and hopefully the atmosphere would just burn them up. “Wait…!” said the woman.
She listened closely, “People the threat is not over, the estimated remains of the meteor are said to be large enough that they will still land the impact zones won’t be as large as before but still large enough that if you live in these areas you must evacuate IMMEDIATELY!” the screen changed and showed a detailed map of the world which went to each nation showing their impact zones zooming in for about 20 seconds before moving to a new spot. Halle sighed as she saw there wasn’t one near her… though a part of her felt a bit of disgust at her uncaring towards those in the blast zones. A timer then appeared, “Ladies and Gentlemen you have one hour to evacuate please do so!” Halle could practically hear the terrified screams millions of miles away as people got out of any building got in their car and drove like mad only to be caught in traffic and forced to abandon their cars.
Nobody moved they just watched the timers countdown, then “Look in the sky!” They all looked up and indeed they could see the meteor pieces falling flaming balls of rock part of them breaking off some burned while others fizzled out. The countdown continued they watched heads raised, mouths open, and cold sweat down their spines…
When the meteor’s hit they expected a great shockwave or a wave of fire, but they just hit the ground, sunk in about 10 feet, steamed, and that was it small pieces of their debris fell. They finally looked back at their screens to see a helicopter flying over one the meteor that landed in America, it landed smack dab in the middle of the united states so it was away from a few cities. But close enough the evacuation was made after several minutes though upon gazing on the pieces they were about the size of large boulders, in which people in radiation suits appeared and soldiers walled off the meteor site, a news update rang. “Citizen’s of America I am pleased to report that there are no casualties reported!” Halle sighed as other’s cheered and whooped. After that things went back to normal… save for the crew surrounding the meteor trying to get info.
-Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Mansion, nine days after the meteor crashed-
Jennifer sat at her table eating bacon, eggs, hash browns, and broccoli watching the news. Since the meteor’s crashed the governments around the world tried their damndest to lift the boulders. But no matter what they did the boulders refused to move, even trying to just lift the ground around it was fruitless. So they just gave up and built theme parks, the countries that could afford to do so, around them or exhibit’s. Now she was watching a thing where a scientist was at a talk show, on national tv at a press conference. “So you’re saying that these old temples and ruins of ancient religions are now glowing with a strange… light?” asked on reporter.
The scientist nodded, “Indeed a yellowish-green energy and no matter what I tried to do I couldn’t contain it or use it in anyway. It’s fascinating, but you can touch it and when you do you get a slight tingling on your fingertips. But apart from that I can’t foresee this being useful to us… at least I didn’t… not until my assistant picked up a shard of one of the meteor pieces that happened to land near there… and my oh my did she underwent a most astonishing transformation.” He grabbed a picture and held it up to reveal a woman in her late forties the signs of crow’s foot and wrinkled skin clear, she had her hair in a ponytail which was brown with streaks of gray “this is my assistant Elba before she picked up the shard and now she’s… Elba? Elba! Please come show the reporters!” the scientist turned to the back panel behind him.
From the right of the back panel a woman stepped out… but this woman couldn’t be the same as the woman in the picture.But if one looked… the could see the same jaw, the same hairstyle and even the same color but not flecked with gray. Anyone could’ve guessed what her body looked like in the photo but the body she had now obviously fitted her new face… and it was also clear that this was no case of excessive plastic surgery no… this was utterly all natural. “Hello.” she said meekly, her hands held down as she blushed at the camera’s snapping at her crazily.
The scientist cleared his throat, “When Elba picked up that fragment she instantly changed, her youth recovered, and not only recovered but made greater! It happened nearly instantly! Being excited I too searched for a fragment but… it didn’t do anything for me… not only that but when Elba gave the fragment she had touched to another assistant nothing happened… not even the one I touched!” Instantly everybody knew what that meant but they just needed to hear one last thing.
A Reporter stepped up, “Tell me did you put the fragment back in the temple and then had your other assistant pick it up?” She asked.
The scientist nodded, “Indeed unfortunately it didn’t seem to work…” Jennifer’s hands snatched her phone and she was speed-dialing her agent.
Her agent picked it up, “Yello?” he said cheerfully.
Jennifer bellowed into the phone, “GET ME ONE OF THOSE DAMN METEOR FRAGMENTS!”
All around the world every celebrity put in the same call, it wasn’t long before a market emerged, demand made for quite a lucrative business. However there was something that wasn’t told publically something that wouldn’t be known until it was too late...
