"I know," he said. "I apologize. I'm not on drugs or anything. I just got road rage."
One of the other ladies chimed in, "well I like a man who can admit when he's wrong." The others expressed agreement with this.
"What's your name?" The woman asked.

"Do I know your mother, Jared?"
"No," he said, "I doubt it. They live in a different county about a hundred or so miles from here."
She studied him for a while.
One of the other ladies spoke up. "You going to come in or go out, Jared?"
He suddenly realized he was still holding the door open. He nodded toward them and stepped out onto the sidewalk, but before he closed the door the woman he had yelled at said, "I don't accept your apology!" He stopped in his tracks. Now it was his turn to wear a confused expression.
"Come inside and shut the door," she ordered.
