While folks have to admit that the breakneck speed of technological advancements of the past few decades have been extraordinary, the prospect of a chance to literally rewrite oneself into a vision of personal perfection only comes to people in dreams and fantasies. Encephalon Silver was making some pretty lofty promises, but people struggled to argued with their results.
While still fresh and experimental, participants of the Project were already singing its praises, claiming that the procedure had "changed their life forever, better than a dream." For many of the wealthier participants, the Take-Two project was a surgery-free cosmetic overhaul. Young men came home with tall, toned, immaculate bodies of sculpted muscle and rigid, masculine features. The ladies could sashay pridefully with their full, heaving bustlines, thick swaying hips, shapely legs, and plump-lipped grins. The Project turned the mundane into the divine, cranking out supermodels like a lust-crazed assembly line.
For others, the project was a promise of long sought comfort and relief. The transgender community flocked to the Project, stricken to tears by the ability to truly be the man or woman they knew they were on the inside. No risky hormone treatments, no compromising surgeries, just... change. Not just change, but a real chance at being just as beautiful or handsome as they longed to be. The fortunate could leave their old selves behind and embrace a bright, beautiful future.
Truly, the Take-Two Project seemed like the foundation for a utopia; one where everyone could be their happy, ideal selves. Of course, like anything cemented in reality, the system was not quite perfect yet. There were rules. Restrictions. Limits.
The procedure was only successful on those who were still in the latter half of puberty. Adding on the legal ramifications of experimenting on minors, the Project was only available to those in their late teens; legal adults, but still technically developing. Everyone participating had to accept a "99% chance of complete success." This was, rather than a promotional claim, an accurate estimate of the Project's success rate. Approximately 1% of the participants reported an "imperfect" transformation, though nearly everyone was still adequately pleased with their results. "Everyone please, find a seat and make a circle!" A cheery voice painted over tired eyes chimed out from a forced but almost sincere smile.
