Chapter # 2 Mom shows up at school pissed, and then I said that stupid
sentence.
Mom was not a happy camper when she arrived at the school that's for
sure. She had just gotten that new premotion at work about three months
ago, and now she had to leave work for this. I knew I was going to hear
it, but good, by the way mom was looking at me. The only thing was I knew
that I didn't really do anything wrong, but it seemed no one would
listen
to me.
The principle had both of us come in the office. I watched as she closed
the door behind us. She had both of us take a seat. Once we were seated,
she started to tell mom what had happen, and how disappointed she was in
me. I tried to tell mom and her that I didn't have anything to do with
it, but no one would listen. Mom got really pissed, as the principle told
her that just like the other two boys, I would be suspended for the next
2 & ? weeks. she told mom that I couldn't come back to school till after
Easter break. That meant that I would be home for 3 & ? weeks total, as
Easter was 2 & ? weeks away.
Mom tried to talk her out of it; telling her that she was a single mom,
and that she just got this new position in work, but that didn't help.
The principle also told mom that I needed to do something about my hair.
She said that it was as long, or even longer than some of the girls in my
class.
Mom was not happy as she thanked the principle and told her she would
take care of the problem. We both headed out of her office, and boy I
could tell mom pissed, as we left the office without a word being spoken.
We got to the car, got in, and head home. I sat up front and just kept
quiet. Mom drove out of the parking lot, and didn't say anything for a
while. I could tell mom was really pissed, because we didn't say a word
to each other for a good 5 minutes or more. I swear I could see smoke
coming out of her ears, because she was so mad. Then Mom finally pulled
over and into a park. After we stopped, she turned toward me saying,
"What the hell were you thinking, Jack?"
It seems you're always getting into trouble but this! "GEE'S, JACK!" "Why
would you ever light Firecrackers on a school bus?" My-Gosh Jack; of all
things to bring on a school bus why, Firecrackers?
Mom went on for good 5 minute without letting me say anything. Then she
took a breath and asked that all so famous question that all moms ask of
boys who have sisters.
"Why can't you be more like your sister?"
You don't see her getting in any trouble like this.
I don't know what the hell I'm going to do with you, Jack? Now of all
things you're suspended for the next 2 & ? weeks.
That's when I made my first big mistake, because I was being a smart ass
as I said, "Gees Mom!" "Sis is like all the other girls. All girls want
to do is play with their dolls and have silly tea parties, or play house
with the other girls. All they want to do is play dress up in pretty
party dress, or talk about boys. They don't like to do things like us
guys do. They just sit around giggle, and play with their dolls, so how
the heck can they get in any trouble?" guys are adventurist and we do
things just for fun.
I have no idea why I said what I did? I guess I was trying to be, smart
ass. But what I said next I should have never said.
That's when I said it. "The sentence" that did me in. Followed by another
dumb sentence with the words that I really should have never said.
"I remember it like it happened yesterday as I spoke those famous words;
"Heck mom, I guess if I was a girl, I probably wouldn't get in any
trouble either. I would probably just sit around the house like sis, in
some pretty dress, and play with my doll & baby carriage, and maybe have
a dolly tea party, too" "But gee's Mom, I'm sorry, but I'm not a girl!
I'm a guy, and guys like to have fun, that's what we do."
Unfortunately, I was soon to find out this was the wrong thing to say. I
looked over at mom as she gave me this funny look, followed by this big
grin as she said, "OH! Is that right Jack?"
Then as I understand it, if you were a girl, then you wouldn't be getting
into any trouble, because you would just play with your dolls, like the
rest of the girls, but seeing you're a boy then it's okay to get in
trouble, right?
So, like a dumb ass I said, right, girls like to play dress up and play
with their dolls. boys like to have fun, and because of that, we kind of
get in trouble a lot more than some tea party playing silly girls do.
That's when mom said well, if I'm getting this right, you're saying If
you were a girl, then I wouldn't have to worry about you getting into so
much trouble. Is that's how you feel?
I said yeah, I guess you could put it that way.
Mom said okay, as long as I understand how you feel. I guess I will have
to do something about that right away won't I?
I really didn't understand or have any idea what the heck she was talking
about, when she said that.
I just said, sure, I guess so, whatever you say mom?
She said okay then, I think I figured it out. oh, I just remembered, I
need to make a couple of extra stops on the way home.
I said okay, I guess.
The first of our stops was at one of the local large department stores in
the area. It was called "TWO-GUYS", and this store had everything in it
from clothes, toys, food, shoes, the works. We entered the store, and I
followed Mom as she went to the little girl's department. I figured she
had to pick stuff up for Holli.
Right after we entered the girl's department mom turned to me asking me
to help her out. She told me that she wanted me to go over to the toy
department, and to see if I could pick out a really cute doll for Holli
to give as a present. She told me that Holli was going to a birthday
party on Saturday. She needs a really cute and pretty doll as a present
to give to her a friend. She then explained that she wanted me to look
over all the dolls really closely. Saying now Jack, I want you to pretend
you are a girl, and you need to pick out the one and only doll that you
feel is the cutest of all, just as if you were the little girl picking it
for yourself. I want you to find the cutest doll ever okay.
I looked at mom saying, you got to be kidding me, right? come on mom, I
have no idea how to pick out a doll?
Mom just looked at me saying, Jack, I really need your help here. I need
to shop for a lot of things over here. That means I need you to help me
find a really cute doll for a little girl.
I said ok mom, I'll try to do it. Honest I'll do my best to pick out what
I think is the cutest doll ever okay. I then started over to the toy
department trying to figure out just how I was going to pick out the
cutest doll ever. I had no clue to what I was going to do.
Once in the toy department I went on over to the doll section, and
studied the dolls. I walked up and down looking at the dolls. I felt
really dumb as I stood there looking at all the dolls. Here I was, a boy,
looking at dolls, what the heck does a boy know about picking out a
doll.
I was looking while hoping no girls I knew showed up to see me trying to
picking out a doll. I sure didn't want that to happen.
Anyhow while I stood there, I would ask myself, if I were a little girl
would I like this doll? Na! That doll doesn't look like it would be any
fun to play with. Then I would look at another doll, and say Nope not
that one either. Then it was how about this cute doll, but I still hadn't
found anything after going over about 5 or 6 dolls. I finally stopped
and
picked up this one doll that was in a pink box, with a plastic see
through front. To me it looked really cute. I mean really if I was a
girl, I think I would love to have a doll like this one.
The doll was about 12 or 14-inches high, and had a real pretty baby doll
face, with flowing blonde hair. The doll was wearing this fancy pink and
white satiny party dress, full of lace & bows, with an adorable little
hat. It had wavy long hair that hung out from under this straw hat,
making her look to me, adorably cute. The straw hat was trimmed around
the hat band with lace and ribbon that hung off the back of the hat. The
doll was also holding this cute little pink pocketbook that matched her
shoes & outfit.
I mean I stood there holding and looking at this doll in this large
plastic covered box for a while, and that's when I said to myself. Yep!
You know if I were a little girl, this would definitely be the doll I
would want to play with. Because even though I'm a boy, I really think
she is the most adorable and cutest looking doll I see here. I think any
girl would most likely go nuts over her.
I took the doll and brought it back to mom to show her what I found. I
hopped that I did okay.
Mom said, wow Jacky, she is definitely an adorable looking doll sweety,
what a great choice you made.
Then mom asked me a strange question? She said now "Jacky" you're sure
you looked over all of the other dollies, right?
I said yes, as I asked her why was she asking me that in a loud voice. I
mean Mom everyone can hear us.
She said, I just want to make sure you checked out all the other dolls.
I then said again, honest mom, I checked out all of the other dolls ,and
I think this one is the cutest one there.
She then said, okay I just want to make sure that as far as you are
concerned you feel that this doll is the cutest and most adorable looking
doll in the whole store, right?
So again, in annoyed voice I said, gees mom yes, matter of fact, if I was
a little girl, I would think this doll is the cutest and most adorable
looking dolly in the whole world okay?
Mom said, that's great, then it settled you think she is the cutest doll
ever, and she giggled making me laugh too. Mom then said, well I know for
a fact, that the little girl who will be getting this doll is just going
to love it for sure. It was kind of a strange thing to say, but I know
moms and little girls seem to go nuts over dolls; so, I didn't think much
about what she just said.
We headed up to the register and mom paid for the shopping carriage full
of stuff that she had and the cute doll. As we got to the car mom put
everything in the back seat, and told me to get in. I hopped in the front
seat, as mom got in on her side.
That's when mom decided to lowered the boom.
She turned and looked at me saying, I had time in the store to think over
your punishment, Jack. She then went on to say, as far as she was
concerned, I wasn't going to get off easy this time. She said, that she
felt I had been getting away with murder for over a year, and now it was
going to stop. I was going to be punished "BUT GOOD" for what I did, and
for things I should have been punished for, but wasn't. She also said,
that I definitely wasn't going to like what was about to happen to me one
bit. Then mom said something really strange, that had me a little
worried.
Mom said,
Just remember one thing young man! You're the one who suggested how I
should punish you! So now you will just have to live with it.
I just sat there looking at her saying, "What?" She then said, "You will
soon see young man."
I just kept thinking to myself, "What the heck does she mean I suggested
my own punishment?"
Mom decided to go to few more shops, like the butchers, and another
little girls & kids shop, then finally we headed home. When we got home,
mom grabbed the bag with meat from the butchers, and asked me to bring in
all the other packages. She told me to put them all upstairs in her
room.
After I finish that I was to come and find her.
I did as I was told and found mom filling the tub up with water. She must
have put a ton of bubble bath in, and some kind of smelly stuff, because
the bathroom smelled really sweet, and girlie. It smelled like when my
sister takes a bath and likes to pour a bunch of smelly stuff in the
water. Mom heard me come into the bathroom as she turned around, and told
me to get undressed and into the tub. She said that I smelled of
gunpowder from the firecrackers, and I needed a good old fashion bath to
get the smell off me.
I told her that I would take a shower later.
That's when Mom lost it and started to yell at me, telling me to get in
the tub, NOW!
I got undressed and hopped into the tub as fast as I could. Mom handed me
a face cloth and some smelly soap, telling me to wash all over, and to
call her when I was ready to get out. She would come in and make sure I
did a good job before I would be allowed out of the tub. I stared doing
what I was told.
Meanwhile I could hear mom in her bedroom humming and opening bags as she
went back and forth to Holli's room. I had fun in the tub with the
bubbles, and after a long while I called mom that I was finished. She
came in and inspected the job that I had done, and said there were a
couple of areas that she wanted done over.
Once I washed those areas again, she told me to stand up so she could
rinse off all the bubbles. She used a hand-held rubber shower head, that
attached to the tub faucet. After mom was done spraying me off. I was
told get out of the tub, and to put on the bathrobe that she had with
her.
I looked at the robe and told mom that the robe she had was Holli's and
not mine. She told me, I don't care who's robe it is I said put it on,
Now! She handed me the robe, which I immediately put on, as she
instructed me to follow her back to her bedroom. On the way to her room
she informed me it was time for my punishment to start.
I was a little scared now, as I figure I was going to get a good old
fashion spanking, but when I entered mom's room I froze. On mom's bed was
a complete little girl's outfit, which I had a feeling was not a good
sign at all. I looked at mom and she had this big smile on her face, as
she said, time to get my new little girl all dressed up in her pretty
outfit.
I said what?
Then I immediately tried to turn and run, but mom stopped me cold. Seems
she had already locked the bedroom door so I was now stuck.
