FRIDAY Their intelligence told them both residences would have skeleton crew. Nobody would be sleeping in the rooms of interest. The fog would be cranked up to improve their chance of approaching undetected. They had the means to defeat the wards and charms. The people in the one household went to bed early and the other stayed up for some very vocal extra-curricular activities. The ingress at both residences was straightforward as the back door locks were easy to defeat. The wards and charms were ineffective against them and once inside there was little protection to stop them. They slowly moved towards the steps leading upstairs. Charles indicated that he would toss a stun potion first and put up a shield for Delta. It didn't work out that way for either party as they exchanged stun devises. Charles got the worst of it and was saved by Delta parrying the blade heading towards his head. She pushed him out of the way and took on the intruder. The doorway restricted the sword fight with the door frame taking most of the damage. Delta was slowly gaining the advantage as her muscle memory kicked in and both parties knew it. Delta's problem was she only knew how to kill her opponent. Subduing another swordsman was never an option and she wasn't ready to kill someone yet. Her opponent noted the hesitancy and tried to take advantage of that and make his escape. Instead, his aggressive move to get out of the room and Charles' attempt to enter the fight forced Delta's hand. Her next move left her foe unable to use his right arm in the fight. His desperation to flee left him with one option. He put his right hand in a pocket and pulled out two vials. He held them up for Delta and Charles to see. He crushed them together and threw them to the floor. Smoke started issuing from that spot. Delta moved forward to chase the intruder. Charles grabbed her and pulled her back. He yelled. "It's poison!" Delta's blood lust disappeared, and they scrambled to clear the area. The breaking of glass from a window signaled to them what happened to the invader. They headed to the front door for fresh air and possibly pursue the perp. The heavy fog shut down any thoughts of tracking the attacker. Everything pointed to him running towards and going on Happy Brother property. A weak party line connection from one of the Killer B's got their attention. Over at Aidan's house Oscar and Sister Moonstar were outside Aidan's bedroom and Oscar started the countdown. Oscar was never subtle when on the offensive and he used his magic to increase his strength. The door exploded into the bedroom and Sister Moonstar's magic shielding should have protected them. The intruder was able to get off two shots. The first one shattered on the shield except for a small fragment that hit Oscar in the arm. The second shot ended up in the ceiling as Oscar's sword was knocking the gun out of the intruder's hand. The burglar would have survived Oscar's sword swing to the chest even with the enhanced strength and berserker state that Oscar was now in. The blow struck the chest area that was protected by some advance body armor. Oscar had put everything into the sword swing, it launched the burglar backwards and through the window. Aidan had put one of his protection spells on the window with Oscar and Sister Moonstar getting to see it in action. A lightning bolt struck the hapless intruder which blinded and deafened Oscar and Sister Moonstar. The perp was unconscious and on fire by the time he hit the ground. It took a moment for Oscar and Sister Moonstar to recover their eyesight. She saw something, and she concentrated on where the fragment hit Oscar. The fragment popped out and she directed it over to the dresser. "Oscar that fragment contained dark magic: I am hoping that my shielding and the removal of it will minimize its effects on you. It was an amazing coincidence that Lake Michigan State University suddenly realized that Michigan was a prime area for raising Alpacas. She was able to give them proper hugs as she was allowed to don a nightshirt. As they were leaving; Aidan started to swear the sisters to secrecy with a spell. Aidan picked up something from the youngest sister and she stopped mid-spell. A harsh glare from Aidan got her to confess about telling someone else. The two other sisters were dumbfounded by the confession and who she told. They all apologized profusely as the person who received the information was a big gossip. Sister Medico did use them on occasion to create magical artifacts and she was incredibly happy with the healing devices they produced. The discussion moved into the Sisters themselves as they were all males transformed into women who functioned like Djinns from a magic standpoint. The subtle difference was they were result of Djinn and Human magic. In addition, each Sister was allowed to choose their successor. As the current Sister Medico, she was able to access all the prior Sister Medicos' memories and knowledge. She told Aidan how he was working as an orderly in a hospice when he met the prior Sister Medico. "Nobody knew what was happening to her outside of everything was failing pretty quickly. She took one look at me and smiled. She later told me I would make a perfect successor and to come to her room that evening. I did as she asked." 'Tell her if she doesn't give you a clue as to what she needs to pass on, she'd find how operative the word Doom is for her current situation.' While Mara was a bit more diplomatic in her delivery of Aidan's message. It jogged the information to some place where both Aidan and Mara could find it. Harriet was in Michigan. Aidan didn't really care if she was presentable or not and marched straight into the living room where the three of them were having tea. Mara was aghast, Bethany amused, and Marguerite was confident she had done the right thing. Aidan was very happy and took the woman's hands. "Marguerite, I apologize for my appearance but what can you tell me about Harriet?" Marguerite was about to say something and then the look on her face told Aidan she needed to be convinced that she was the D.O.D.. "What is it going to take to persuade you that I am who I say I am?" Marguerite took a moment. "I can't think of anything right off the top of my head." Aidan spoke. "I am not going to do a parlor trick, and you won't take the word of anybody here. I am sorry to have wasted your time." Aidan made to leave the room. Marguerite was going to speak when Aidan spoke up again. "She'll run into me next week in Clarkston. That works for me." "It's a nice red that will go good with the pizza." The microwave dinged and some more noises. "Girls, I need you sitting where I left you or at least don't be near where I popped out. Ready?" Aidan didn't wait for an answer. Another pop and there was Aidan with a plate holding two slices of pizza; the other hand holding a red plastic cup presumably filled with red wine. The three were speechless and they let Aidan sit down before all three bombarded her with questions. She raised her hand to stop them and put security in place. "Yes. I can apparate and I am not sure about range or what I can haul with me. Also, my levitation powers have increased dramatically, and I don't need to concentrate as much on the object I am trying to move." Aidan explained what happened in the kitchen between bites of pizza and sips of wine. She went on to explain that she was still sorting out what powers she had gained with the completion of the transformation. She knew that her elemental powers were available for her use. Her psychic powers didn't change or get stronger. The girls caught up Aidan with the agreements reached with Bethany's visitors. Several agreed to supply large quantities of non-lethal potions over the next two months. There was a lot of useless gossip over who was hooking up. There was a dramatic improvement in the food served at Giulia's and everyone there seemed quite happy at the moment. A quick call was made to Oscar with the updates from Team Clarkston regarding the preparations for the barn/barracks. No one had any ideas on the intruders and the scant evidence pointed to BOAM.
