Breakfast after midnight is a whole different thing. The places are usually, if not full to the point of long waits, at least to the point of limited table space. Tom and I had to wait for a table, but just a few minutes.

I looked around and tried to put the pegs into the proper holes, but I was never sure about them. Some were the waitress who had finished cleaning the restaurants nearby they were usually pretty easy to spot. But only if they wore their uniforms. Some of them probably stopped at bars for a last call drink. More than a few mixed with crowd of the all night restaurants. Some of the customer were probably bar patrons. Those were usually the groups of two or more of the same sex sitting at a table. Ones who hadn't been able for one reason or another to pick up a date. Then there were the late night workers who lived along and were headed home after shift.

The couple ahead of us was called at the six minute mark of our wait. We were called at the eleven minute mark. Yes, I kept track of such things. I have no idea why, I did that.

"So it's the 'He men breakfast'for me," Tom said to the middle aged waitress who looked like a drug addict or drunk in rehab.

"Make mine soft scrambled eggs with crisp bacon no potatoes," I said "If you can get the cook to put a little cheese on those eggs, please."

"So, are we going to do it?" Tom asked.

"Of course we are," unless we find out the cops busted them in the paper tomorrow."

"Since we have a matinee tomorrow, we need to split up. I'll get the drill and you get the camera," Tom said. "You can drop me at home depot and head over to Walmart."

"Why don't you drop me the camera purchase will most likely take longer," I said. I reached in my wallet and pulled a hundred dollar bill out, then handed it to him.

"What's this for?" he asked.

"The drill, the look see was my idea. I'll foot the bill for it." I said. "Don't argue. It will be cheap entertainment," I said.

"I didn't think to ask if there is a heading for burglar tool in you expense account," he said.

"I know pencil pushers are so unreasonable," I said with a laugh. Tom laughed as well. The waitress even smiled as she put the plates in front of us.

After breakfast we drove back to the motel. On arrival we each went our separate ways. However after a few minutes the naked Tom slipped into my bed. He held me from behind and played with me till I was almost on the verge of sleep. Then be began rubbing his penis over my anus. I knew what was coming so I tried to relax as much as I could.

Even so, there was pain as he first entered me. He had a lot against him, I was very dry being the worst. But he forced his way inside the hot tight canal. It soon lubricated from his dropping cock. After the first three or four minutes it was more comfortable and it even felt good. Nothing really physical arousing more an emotional lift. One of those turn on like seeing porn. I knew I was making Tom feel good. Just as I had understood the first time I did anal intercourse.

"After he came Tom left my bed and went to his own. I really did like that about him. Fucking is fucking but sleep is sleep. I managed to sleep till seven that morning. I dressed in my new shorts and found room in the small pockets for my box opener and key card. I Pulled on my old running shoes before I headed out the door.

When I came back Tom was awake and drinking coffee. He had managed to make it with no help from me. I poured the teapot half full of milk and then I added half a Hershey bar to it. While it heated to a boil I mixed up a bowl of high fiber cereal and fruit. When everything was ready I ate the cereal and drank my orange juice. After that I sipped my hot chocolate. I found that i had added a bit too much chocolate. It only yielded one cup of chocolate so that it was obviously too much candy. The car's tea pot yielded even less than a full cup, so I knew i was going to have to be careful with it.

We actually had a small refrigerator in the room so the usual routine of adding ice to the cooler to keep the milk from going sour was unnecessary. Tom finished his coffee around 9AM. Since we left immediately, and we already knew the location of the Walmart I found myself entering shortly there after. I had the camera purchased and was through the five items or lest check out in minutes. The only hold up was the woman ahead of me paying with a food stamp card. The card was presenting the cashier with a reading error sing.

She was using food stamps, but had fake finger nails and a fifty dollar hair do. The expensive clothes could have been from Goodwill, but more likely from strolling the boulevard.

I didn't judge her for doing the stroll, but it did piss me off that she was using food stamps.

When I got out of Walmart, Tom was nowhere to be seen. So I sat on a bench to await his return. There were also men on the bench about eighty years old. The all nodded so I said, "Hi guys." and settled down to wait. I didn't have long to wait. Tom showed up and I was glad. I almost ran to the SUV I was so glad to be away from those old guys. They reminded me too much of my own future. If I stopped running, the future would catch up to me.

"So, did you get my drill or Dremel," I asked.

"I did, I got a drill bit, and I got your nipples," he said smiling. "I also got a bunch of alkaline batteries. We can use them because we only need the thing to operate a few seconds."

Deputy PorterChapter 13

When I awoke the next morning, after a night spent alone, I thought about Gypsy on her way back to town and to the Warren County Jail. The chief deputy gave me till noon as comp time for calling me in to talk to Dee on my day off. I had a feeling that he expected me to be on hand, when Gypsy arrived. I would have been perfectly happy to be back out on the road, when she pulled into town. I was wrong in what I thought. "Your buddy Gypsy won't be back for a couple of more days. They are...

"Why can't you be sociable," the belligerent drunk asked. "Just go away and leave me alone," the young woman replied. He put his hands on her, which was the step over the line as far as I was concerned. I walked up and showed him my badge. "You need to go on home. You can either leave here now and come back, or you can wait for the manager to ask you to leave in which case you won't be welcome again." I tried to be calm and reasonable. "Bullshit, I ain't going nowhere," he...

Deputy PorterChapter 4

Life fell into a boring routine quickly. It had been a bore since the first month and it stayed that way for eight months. It was out of the blue. when something really exciting happened. It was sad, but that didn't change the fact that it brought excitement to the Sheriff's department. Some hikers found a child's body wrapped in a tarp. Since she was wrapped in a tarp everyone jumped right to murder as a cause of death. It took the Medical Examiner three hours to rule that it was indeed...

Deputy MorpheusChapter 6 Prison Escape

I glanced up as the commander stepped into the room and everyone quieted. He looked at me, “Morpheus, take Swift, Taylor, Samson, Adams and Michaels. They had a prison escape on Devlin.” I nodded and stood, “How many?” He shook his head, “Nine.” I grabbed my bag and started towards the lifts. The other marshals followed me as I dropped to dispersing. We had a four hour wait in the starport before boarding a shuttle up to the cargo transport that was headed to Devlin. There were only a few...

The state cable news network called me at the motel but on my cell phone. It wasn't the man from the crash, it was a chick who claimed to be his producer. It looked to me as though they were trying to be a real news agency. "Hi there, you are Deputy Sylvia Porter?" she asked. "I am. Who might you be?" I asked. That's when I found out about the producer thing, "So what can I do for you Miss Producer." I didn't even bother to file her name into my short term memory. I didn't expect...

The Johnson/Goodall family had been in Sacramento for just over three weeks and they were already on their way to becoming "rich." Eddy had collected $56.25 in wages as a deputy marshal and their company had collected $300 for delivering heavy freight more quickly than the customer had expected. Eddy had already been contacted by potential customers for other jobs which they were now ready to handle. Over the next week, Jeb and Josh earned $53 for moving a load across town in two trips and...

The state had pulled my certification. Without it I was unemployable, even as a game warden. That really hurt, not that I really wanted to back to being a rabbit police person. Even if I found a small town police force that wanted me, they could hire me without that certification. I could bring an action against the state but if the damage to my hand proved to be long term, I would lose. I doubted that any court anywhere would force them to do any more than make a monetary settlement with...

"I looked, but I couldn't find the interview with her lawyer anywhere," I admitted. "She says we offered to forget her attempted escape, if she had sex with us." Simpson said. "It's not believable that we conspired to have sex with her," I said. "I wouldn't worry about it. I'm going to tell the truth which should remove any suspicion of criminal activity. I hadn't planned to mention the escape attempt at all, but appears I'm going to have to do it." "Yeah, I agree. Just try...

The room was warm and it really felt good. I had been standing out in the cold wearing just my running suit and the light parka for well over two hours. I made short work of stripping off the running suit and hanging it on racks to dry. After that little domestic chore, it was on to the hot shower. I also washed my new peach fuzz of course. I was dressed in a clean uniform and in the office well before nine. I didn't think that was too bad, since I had been waylaid for quite some time. "So...

The well dressed business man walked into Hardee's just as I sat down to review my tape from the night before. More importantly to me was the last three hours. I was occupied so even though I noticed him walk in the place, I didn't keep track of him. When he sat down at the table I paid a lot more attention to him. "So are you Randal Davis king maker or one of his flunkies?" I asked. "You know, if I wasn't Randal you really would have pissed me off with the flunky comment," he...

My last night on swing shift was a bust. Even so I slept till noon the next day. When I awoke I took a shower, then dressed in my jeans and one of my forest green tee shirt. I wore one of the several men's white dress shirts over it. I also clipped the off duty holster onto my belt before I slipped on the medium weight parka type field jacket. I looked up as the commander walked out of his office. Amanda shifted to follow my look, “Something up?” The commander headed towards us and I nodded, “I think we just got picked for something.” He stopped in front of my desk and tossed a data stick, “Grab your things. A prisoner died in custody on Gable. They need a officer to head the investigation.” I glanced at Amanda, “Our custody or the constables?” He turned away, “The constables.” I stood and Dragon leaped from her perch while...

It was late Sunday evening and I had used the time that day to get over my various pains. It had been an interesting experience and now I that I had rested, I was a little less terrified. I was however still very concerned. I knew that I would have just to wait to see. The waiting would be hard but at least it wouldn't be forever. The shelf life of an amateur sex video was very short. Spring had come to the mountain, and it was glorious. I have survived the last two months without being involved in any of Mary Ellen's projects. I did pay off the Monk for saving my life, otherwise I had been celibate. How did I do it you asked. Deputy Done Wrong

From my vantage point behind the low line of brush I watched the approaching vehicle. It was moving along pretty good and I flipped the switch on the remote in my lap, activating the radar gun mounted on my dash. It was a high tech unit, one of the latest on the market, and it automatically recorded the highest speed of the oncoming car. Good thing too, as the driver obviously was in possession of a "fuzz buster" since the nose of the car came down as the driver hit the brakes hard. I...

Even without the splint, the flimsy donut box would have been a difficult item for me to carry. With the splint, I had to use it as a resting place and hold the box in place with my good hand. Yeah I felt like a dumb ass while I waited the hours in a cold house for the emergency delivery of propane. I could have brought the small commercial cooking burner in the house to get some heat, but I chose to heat the small box in front with a ceramic electric heater. It didn't get warm but if I sat right in front of it, I didn't freeze either. The delivery man came after lunch, but that was okay. I couldn't be pissed at him for my stupidity. By the time I got to my room it was 5AM. Some of the state highway workers, who stayed at the Motel, had already begun to stir. If I had gotten into my room an hour earlier, I would have likely just fallen into bed and passed out. I looked up from the stack of reports I was going through and marshal Edwards grinned. He was a short stocky man with grey hair and a wicked sense of humor. I wore the cap from the parking lot of the plaza. I would have worn it out of the store, but that would have looked a little odd. Like walking across the parking lot in a deputy's uniform with a thug's knit cap. I couldn't fit my current baseball cap I had over the knit cap. Since I couldn't wear both, I carried the knit cap in my hand. My first stop was to head back to the station for a larger baseball type hat. Eddy had one point on his side: the first time he fired his shotgun, people would come running. He just had to hope that they would get there soon enough to do him some good. 08 TogetherChapter 128

Present –Ben (Valentin), Jens (Dasha), Ira and Mira – On the mission I lean back in my seat and meditate to manage the almost overwhelming feeling of hate being directed at us. This is going to be a long-assed flight and I need to maintain my composure. The fasten seatbelt light goes off and Dasha whispers to me in her almost perfect Russian, “Мне нужно идти в ванную.” I need to go to the bathroom. I reply in Russian, “Разве вы не можете ждать?” Can’t you wait? Dasha complains in...

Runaway TrainChapter 128

“I’m not crazy about having this connected to me,” Liz told us. “I know,” I admitted. “And it was never supposed to be connected to you. Remember how this started. We had to shift the public focus off convincing some dumbass kid to jump off a bridge and onto something ... worthwhile. We responded to a verbal attack by making it about something more than ... vitriol. It became about substantive issues. That much should be obvious. We pushed the snow down the hill but it was other people that...

Daze in the ValleyChapter 128

Adam was still in a funk when they left the studio. He hadn't minded it when the girls had tied him up and had their way with him. It was sort of exciting in a way. But he didn't like feeling as though he had crossed a line he could never uncross. "I wonder if this is how some of the other guys in this business turned out like they did?" he wondered aloud. "I mean, they got a taste of it and it created their sexual identity." Allie, who was riding back with Adam, reached across and...

Deputy PorterChapter 216

So I mashed in the Colonel's run. I put in 15pounds of corn and all the stalks I had left after I ground them. Then I added the yeast and let it begin to work off. For two weeks I made myself seen around town. I talked to a few people I knew and who could help me, if I decided to run for Sheriff if couldn't hurt to have their advice. The advice was all the same, try to turn your negatives into positives, admit to everything, and make a joke of it. The Colonel Martin Mash was working and it...

Deputy PorterChapter 190

We went back inside to finish our breakfast. An older man came by to leave his card on our table. "You never know," he said smiling." "Bob you are a defense lawyer, now why in the world would I need you," I asked. "You never know when the Sheriff will get a hair up his ass toward you," He said. "Well Bob, if the Sheriff gets a hard on for me, I'll give you a call." I replied. "I might make you a special price, you never know," the older man said. "Fair enough I laughed," as...

Deputy MorpheusChapter 17 Protg

It was late and I still had several reports to review and four requests to decide on. I glanced at the door when a dragon flew in and landed on a chair back. I sat back and then grinned, “It has been a long time Samantha.” The dragon chirped and was answered by her mother on her nest. I looked at the door as an older Cambra walked through it and she grinned, “Hey kid moving up.” I came to my feet and moved around the desk and caught her in a hug. I stepped back, “Where have you been?” She...

Deputy PorterChapter 35

I went home and worried. I had no way to tell who knew what, so all I could do was act like everything was normal. If I were a Los Vegas Odds maker, I would make it about 3 to 1 in my favor. I wasn't trying to be optimistic there were just so many thing that had to go wrong to get me busted. I had the Boyle brother's phone number and I could call, but I swore I would never contact them again. So I would have to wait till tomorrow at work, when I could pin those in the raid down. My chance...

Deputy MarshalChapter 8

Deputy Marshal Zack Wilson walked into The Silver Dollar Saloon the same way he did every night if was his turn to make the nightly rounds. He went up to the bar and said hello to Jim Hanson the bartender and owner. "How's it going tonight, Jim?" "Oh, 'bout the same as usual. There's a few miners here I ain't never seen afore, but they've been mostly quiet and drinking their beer. OH, SHIT! LOOK OUT, ZACK!" Jim grabbed Zack's arm and jerked him to one side as a thrown knife whizzed...

Deputy PorterChapter 102

Rodney and I settled in to wait for the boss, or at least the rental boss. I had time to assess Rodney in full daylight. He walked with just a slight almost unnoticeable limp. He was not quite six foot tall and probably one hundred and eighty pounds. He was the color of coffee with just a touch of cream. There was some white in his gene pool for sure. His hair was too short to be in the least curly. As I think I said earlier he looked like he might have been a gym rat. Joan Pacer arrived...

Deputy PorterChapter 150

"Look Sylvie, we have to make this look convincing. We want whoever is bugging you to think I'm an old boyfriend," He said it quietly over his beer. "Exactly how far to you think I am going to carry this charade?" I asked. "That depends on how bad you want to know who is bugging you. Believe me I don't want to be here. I have better things to do with my time, don't I?" he said. "Look that cockney accent is going to wear thin in about an hour. I have heard you speak with hardly...

Deputy PorterChapter 171

I rode the bike on Friday for two hours. As I had begun to do lately, I went to the Cafe on the Square for breakfast. There was usually a deputy or two there, and since Mary Ellen was a local business women, she was a topic of conversation around there. Even if there were no cops, there was always some news that someone had gotten from a cop. The latest thing was the cops thought they might have a good lead. I thought, if the lead is the camera men, it was about fucking time. I said nothing....

Deputy PorterChapter 201

"I swear to you Sylvia I don't understand why people are buying that stuff. I don't like the taste of it and I don't like the quick high I get from it." The Brit said. "I know, hun but people don't always make sense. As a matter of fact the one thing you can count on when dealing with people, is that they will all act irrationally at some point." I said. "Yeah, that is true enough. So what's the thrill?" The Brit asked. "Jim says it's designer drugs. Something nobody else has....

Deputy PorterChapter 224

Jeremy was working on the catered meal. "We were calling it a counter rally. A political rally with barbecue and no politics. It was a hell of an idea, even if it was mine. While he did that I went back to thinking about a new car of some kind. The cruiser really was breaking down a bunch, and that meant a tow bill just about every time. Fortunately the breakdown had been during daylight and in area's with cell phone coverage. I was worried that it might not always be so cooperative. I...

Deputy PorterChapter 231

When I woke up, it was the next morning and Juanita the pubs only female employee was standing beside me. "Miss Sylvia is there anything I can get for you." "To be honest I could use some pain killers, and a cup of coffee," I said. "What kind of pain killers?" she asked. Get me some Tylenol extra strength and some Aleve,"I said. "Mostly honey, I really want coffee." "I will bring that and send Jeremy for the drugs," she said. She was back with the coffee and the Tylenol almost...
