“You want to annoy your mother?” I enquired
“Only a little. “ I suppose everybody likes to irritate their stuffy old parents sometimes, I thought. “You’ll have to promise to still get through the list. Grand-Chuchesa Mantua is first I believe.
Oh! Oh! I have an idea! Suppose we make you do it in the dark? We can mix servant and noble and see if there is a difference in the feel of their ‘place’. How would that be?”
I wasn’t entirely averse to the idea, but felt I was being controlled again. I heard chuckling in my head. ‘What? What is it?’
‘Trust us. just accept the idea’ So I did.
That night I was allowed to fall asleep. Avril had established herself in my bed again, and Alkena was making sure that she got nothing extra, so she was lying on the other side of me. I told them both that I wanted to sleep. It didn’t stop them deliberately leaving off any bedtime attire, just in case. I confess I was tempted with Alkena; I was tempted with both, but I was determined to keep strictly to my resolve that Avril’s tight and inviting vagina should stay unvisited now until she had her child. The images were initially like poor quality black and white TV pictures from the 1960s, but as time went on I did find I could refine and improve the resolution and definition. I also found that I could start to focus at different depths. By which I mean at first I could only see the surface of a body, then later I could look beyond. Was this how a child learnt to see? At first only seeing what is close up and then developing the ability to perceive movement or objects beyond the immediate? Remember that I was not restricted to the visible spectrum.
Initially it was only possible to ‘see’ in the dark. In daylight the visible rays blanked out all infra red visibility. Possibly just as well as a hot day, or a fire in a room, could have been a blinding experience. But, with time I could tune down the visible light receptors (without closing my eyes, which blocked the infra-red receptors too of course), and tune up the heat and infra-red. The result then was that I could see through objects. Living objects that is. A plain piece of wood was the same at 2 inches or 10 inches.
But a body was a different story. I could focus through the skin and see the heart pumping (in the middle rather than on the left in our case). I could see the large tri-lobed lung expanding and contracting. I could see a glass of warming honey-milk sliding down Avril’s throat. And in time, and more salaciously, I could see the misty shape of her bladder as it filled with urine. I could see a full colon, ready to expel its products; and after a while I could see the difference between a warm womb growing a child and an empty one. Some of this was downright disgusting and vomit inducing, some was just interesting, and some was fascinating like the fact that they had one organ that combined the functions of kidney and liver. It would not be a good idea to need an operation on this world, they would be totally confused. It did take a degree of concentration though to focus at the correct level. It came in handy later, but that is not what this chapter is about.
When Mantua was told the plan she was horrified “I am to share my time with the Don” (they still insisted on considering Don to be a title) “with some lowlife maid? I shall not! This is an insult”
Alkena leant in and whispered to her, she looked surprised. There was more whispering, emphatic nods and more whispering.
“Well, I suppose I shall accept in that case. I shall see you tonight my lord” and she left. I was looking forward to her, she was hot. But then so was the Avril and Alkena and ... and most of the women here.
