Sean and Megan were five and four years old when this story last stopped. The years following Megan's rescue of Sean were relatively peaceful for the Flynn Clan. That 'peace' lasted twelve years, until Sean was Seventeen and Megan was sixteen. That is where I will take up the tale of this saga. The intervening twelve years were kind to everyone in the Flynn Clan, mostly.
Other Wizards and Sorceress' visited the Flynn Clan over the years. Some were invited for specific training sessions. Some invited themselves, and received various degrees of welcome. The incident of the Wizard that returned home with third degree burns, sunburns, on his feet, ensured that future uninvited guests were very polite. Those sunburns were not an accident, and happened on one night, in December. The word spread and common courtesy became a watch word for any Magi visiting the Flynns.
A unanimous vote of the Americas Council delayed Megan's and Sean's ascension to the Council until they are eighteen and nineteen. The reason given was their immaturity. The immaturity cited was their lack of respect for visiting Wizards. The cause of the immaturity was blamed on them remaining with the Flynns in Sean's case, and Megan remaining with her birth parents. Their immaturity was the public reason for their delay. Many speculations were made in the Wizards network and support groups about the real reason. The most popular was the reluctance of two Wizards on the Council to relinquish their exalted position. The Council also voted that Sean and Megan must perform a quest prior to their ascension. Neither of them cared about the delay and requirements. They weren't particularly excited about dealing with the council members and, in their opinion, the longer that unpleasant task was delayed, the happier they would be. They even discussed never doing the quest so they would never have to deal with the council.
Cory and Lian, the Irish and Oriental Magi, understood their young students reluctance. They also instructed them in their responsibilities to mankind.
During one training session, the four of them were discussing the delay. The subject of Sean's and Megan's reluctance to ascend to the Council joined the conversation.
Lian scolded them angrily, saying, "We four are not like other men and women. Are your abilities yours? Do you have a purpose in this life? What if Cai Lun had decided he wanted to sleep the day he invented paper? What if Gutenberg decided the printing press was too much trouble? What if Leonardo Di Vinci decided it was too dangerous to set his ideas to paper? Men are using his ideas to this day, five centuries later, to solve problems. Each of us are born to serve mankind to the best of our ability. Considering a different path because some have lost their way is not acceptable."
"She's right," Cory said with a sigh. "The Americas Council is nearly as bollixed up as the European Council, but they're all we have."
"Well, maybe our path is to change this whole Council system," Sean said stubbornly.
"That may be so, Lad," Cory replied sadly. His words carried the weight of his years one hundred eleven years, even though he only looked about twenty. "None of us knows where our path will lead or what burdens we will bear. But, if you think of doing away with the Council, you must also think of what will replace it. The Councils of the world, great and small, fill a need. If you do away with them, the need will remain and must be filled."
"Who would lead the Magi if the Councils did not exist?" Lian demanded. She really got upset when someone suggested not meeting their responsibilities.
"Maybe the answer is, the Council needs to be led a different way," Megan said reluctantly.
"And what other way would they be guided?" Lian persisted.
"They need to follow The Dream," Sean retorted stubbornly.
"How should they do that?" Lian shot back. "Getting guidance from the Dream is dangerous."
"It is only dangerous if they don't listen," Sean said softly, with a haunted look in his eyes.
Their training continued when Sean refused to explain his statement.
Cory and Brennan became permanent residents in the Cavalla household for a few years. Cory felt he had to stay close to Megan for her training and to protect her. There was minor issue of Cory often becoming confused. There were many times that he couldn't remember if he was the teacher or Megan was the teacher.
Brennan and Ava got married in 1983. It was a double marriage. Pappy and Laoshin decided to join them in marital bliss. Laoshin moved in with Pappy in his apartment attached to the Flynn's barn. A new apartment was built next to the barn located at the Cavalla's for Brennan and Ava. Lian and Udit didn't get married, but whenever you saw one, the other wasn't far away. That relationship created some uncomfortable situations. I will not be discussing those situation in this story. Even a fictional privacy is better than nothing.
Pete Sandoval changed jobs to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Department in 1985. He learned that he would need to change districts to another part of the state to accept another promotion. It is a common practice in military and quasi-military organizations like law enforcement, to move a person that is promoted to senior staff or officer ranks. Pete refused to leave the Bradshaw Mountains. He got the promotion to Lieutenant as part of the move to the Sheriff's Department, and kept his pension from the state. Pete's title is Captain when this part of the history begins.
Ben Cavalla and Susan Sandoval continued improving efficiencies at the Yavapai Medical Center. The hospital received many local and national awards for patient care and efficiencies. Federal mandates were the only inefficiencies that couldn't be overcome.
Liz Cavalla, Ben's wife, professed to be a stay-at-home-mom, but her RN licenses were kept current and she became the default care giver for that part of the mountains with the help of Sheila Begay, BB's wife.
BB, Pappy and John Palladian took care of nearly everything on the ranch. John also helped Sean and Megan as a 'Sniffer', someone that can smell a Brujo or anyone being influenced by one.
Martha Flynn's role as Sean's Adopted Mother, and mentor for Sheila, Liz, and Susan, only intensified over the years. All three girls, thirty something's, had good mothers. Their mothers 'raised 'em right, ' as one of their more elderly mountain neighbors described them. They knew how to be responsible. They knew how to be good parents and how to efficiently run a household. Let's just say that Martha was like, an advanced course for a Master's Degree on those subjects.
Seth Flynn remained the benchmark for the man that Sean strove to be. Sean's tasks were important, but he never lost sight of the fact that his first task was to learn to be a man. Any ethical, or moral decision, has to go through a person's moral sieve. Most people's moral compass is constantly under construction, and evolve their whole lives. In Sean's case, all he had to ask himself was, 'What would Poppa do?'.
Sean's thirst for knowledge was matched by Megan's. Both Magi had daily lessons in the pursuit of improving their talents. Each of them had chores they were required to complete each day. They both also had time each day to pursue private interests, such as physics, or biology. The fact that they needed to take yearly tests to prove that they were being home-schooled adequately, was almost laughable. Both were far, far beyond what was expected at the various grade levels. So, they took the tests and purposely missed enough questions to place in the ninety percentile, but not perfect. They didn't want to be noticed.
Seth, Martha, Ben and Liz insisted that both Magi have a record of successfully finishing an accepted course of education. They knew that Sean and Megan wouldn't need the documentation for their life's work. They also knew that people could become isolated from common men when working at uncommon jobs and wrapped in layers of protection. If you doubt that, think of how our politicians relate to the 'common man.' The parents vowed to ensure the 'kids' had a firm foundation in what it meant to be human. They wanted Sean and Megan to really understand the hopes and dreams of the men and women that made up the society they would live in. The documented education, acquired at the supposed pace of their peers, was one of the tools the parents used to accomplish their goals.
Sean and Megan were both changed by the rescue on Mount St. Helens. They were still children, albeit powerful children; but they were more cautious, now, in everything they did. Lightning had to be forced to accept separation from Sean when the young Mage needed to go someplace where Lightning wasn't allowed. Birds and other animals were constantly close by when they went walking or riding.
Sean was quieter, or more focused. He was still a boy and, after a while, began laughing again. He eventually began playing his practical jokes on other people too, but he was different. He still laughed when a joke was successful, and even when the joke was turned on him. His laughter didn't last as long and didn't seem as boisterous as it had before he was captured. He wasn't satisfied with his lessons either. Each lesson learned was immediately explored to find variations for how it could be used for attack or defense.
Megan's demeanor didn't change as much as Sean's, but it did change. She was a lot more protective of Sean. She got very upset anytime he was unexpectedly out of her sight. Sean and Megan were shopping with Liz and Martha about a year after the rescue. Sean went down a different aisle. Megan, noticing that he wasn't where she expected him to be, panicked. The result was an earthquake in Prescott. Martha was able to calm her by demanding Megan to reach out and feel where Sean was. Megan felt Sean in the next aisle and calmed down.
The energy that had poured through Megan at the volcano, had changed her physically. Sean subjecting her to the energy of water converted to energy had changed her brain before the rescue by increasing the number of vessels servicing the back part of the brain. They thought the extra veins and arteries were needed to handle the extra energy they were handling. The same thing had happened to Sean before he was captured and he had more vessels too. The energy Megan handled at the volcano was more than either had tried to handle before. Her brain was nearly encased in layers of vessels. Megan's resulting headaches took nearly a year to subside.
About eighteen months after the rescue, a bobcat walked into the Flynn's yard while Megan was sitting on the porch steps with Sean. The cat touched noses with Lightning, ignored Queen and the two barn cats, and sat down facing Megan.
Megan cocked her head to one side, meeting the cat's gaze. "What does he want," Megan finally asked.
"I think he's waiting for you to decide if you want him to stay with you," Sean replied thoughtfully.
"You mean, kind of like Lightning?" Megan asked.
"Well, yeah, I think so," Sean said. His uncertainty was not normal and it bothered him.
He was curious though. Sean was used to having animals around him. Sometime he forgot they were there until someone mentioned all the animals around. He could feel the cat's friendliness towards him but the cat's attitude towards Megan was much more.
"Did you call him?" Megan asked. "Did you asked him to come for me?"
"No, I didn't even know he was there until he walked around the barn," Sean said defensively. That, in itself was unusual. "Maybe you called him."
"I can feel the animals and sometime it even feels like I know what they are thinking, but nothing like what you do. I can't call animals," Megan protested.
Brennan was sitting on the porch behind them. He was smoking a briar pipe and reading a book while rocking in the shade of the porch. He had looked up when the ranch yard became quiet. He tensed slightly when the cat had stopped in front of Megan but had relaxed when the cat sat. The conversation between the two Magi was interesting. Brennan had learned to expect these two to do the unexpected and handle any situation that arose. Their hesitancy in the current situation was surprising.
"He could be a gift, Lass" Brennan said thoughtfully after another puff on his briar.
"A gift from who, Bren?" Megan asked curiously.
"Why, a gift from God," Brennan explained with a shrug, as if that explained anything.
Sean and Megan looked over their shoulders at Brennan. Their expressions made it obvious what they thought of his idea.
Brennan held up his hand in defense and said, "Just my opinion. You don't have to accept it and you're welcome finding a better answer."
The Magi thoughtfully turned back to look at the cat.
"I do know that you never want to turn away a gift from God," Brennan added. "He bestows his gifts rarely and always for a reason." He puffed on his pipe again before saying, almost under his breath, "And seldom for the reason you think."
Sean glanced back at Brennan, considering his words.
The only hint Megan gave of hearing his words was a slight nod of her head.
"Well, if you're going to stay around then I'll need to call you something," Megan said thoughtfully. "Do you like Fluffy for a name?"
The cat coughed and looked away.
"Lass," Brennan said laughing. "I don't think your friend was impressed."
"I've never had a cat. I don't know what to call a cat," Megan complained. "How about Tiger?"
The cat looked at her, coughed again, shook it's head and looked at Lightning.
"Fine, fine," Megan complained when Brennan and Sean started laughing at her attempt to name the cat. "We have all the Gaelic names around," Megan said in a huff. "Another will have to do. Your name is Duncan. Take it or leave it."
The cat stood, leaned forward, and licked Megan's cheek.
The laughter had ceased.
"Now, that's not natural," Brennan muttered.
Sean chuckled and, shaking his head said, "What's natural? I'm hungry. Let's get something to eat."
Sean got up and walked into the kitchen. Megan, Lightning, and Duncan followed him in.
"Sean," Liz yelled when the bobcat entered the kitchen. "You're not supposed to bring wild animals in here!"
"Don't look at me. He belongs to Megan," Sean replied with a shrug of his shoulders.
"That's Duncan, mom," Megan said. She looked over her shoulder and said, "Duncan, you can lay over there with Lightning. He's got food and water."
The dog and the bobcat walked towards the corner. The cat stopped for a drink of water before lying down.
"Um, ah, do we own a bobcat now?" Liz asked uncertainly.
"I'm not sure," Megan answered. "What do you think Sean?"
Sean looked at the cat with its head resting on Lightning's flank and watching them. "I don't think you own him. I think he's more like a friend that's going to stick around for a while," he said thoughtfully.
And, that's how Megan ended up with an animal friend. Some may call him a familiar, if they believed in witches and such.
Sean and Megan stopped at Mr. Rosella's classroom on their way to lunch on Monday, March 8, 1993. Megan needed to return a book she had borrowed, and she had a question. Megan hoped the answer would resolve an issue their study group had been wrestling with for the last week. She wanted to report the answer during lunch. They filed into the classroom, followed by Lilly, and Scott. Bell and AJ were getting some fruit they would share during lunch. They figured it would save time. Mr. Rosella...
Sean finished reading the books supplied by the coach, and was on the football field before the class was half over. He had mastered the skill of speed reading many years before. Sean's reading speed with near total comprehension ranged between eight hundred and a thousand words per minute, depending on the complexity of the text. He did not consider football rules complex. Sean jogged to the field, and stopped beside the coach. The PE class and the football team were scrimmaging...
Everyone had to change into the uniform required for PE in a locker room. The uniform consisted of a blue t-shirt with white lettering and blue shorts with a white stripe. That, in itself, didn't bother Sean. However, he couldn't help but feel the heightened emotions, and see the guarded body language from many of the other students as they changed. Sean had been able to send and receive emotions to animals since his birth, to the level of actual communication. He had always been able to...
The rest of the week was chaotic beyond belief and the Dream haunted Sean and Megan. The two boys who had been forced to pick the fight with AJ and Scott, had let everyone know what had happened. They had been in the thick of the whole episode, after all. Unfortunately, the boys also embellished what had happened just a bit. The Ford Bronco stopped in a parking space in the high school parking lot on the third day at school. AJ turned the key and the big engine rumbled to a stop. There was...
Megan and Sean both Dreamed that night, and it was troubling to both of them. Sean had images of the mountain top where Megan had rescued him, thousands of snakes trying to reach him, and Megan being taken from him. Megan's Dream was just as bad. She also Dreamed of the mountain top, and relived horror of how close she felt she came to failure. At the same time, a dark mass was rushing toward her and she couldn't move fast enough to get out of its way. She could dimly see a dirt road...
"Hey, Sean," Scott said from the school bus seat behind the boy with the wild red hair. "Why don't you and Megan walk into the school, separate from us, just to see what happens." "What do you mean by 'to see what happens'?" Sean asked suspiciously. Scott was the only person that Sean had met that liked pulling jokes on other people as much as Sean did. Any time Scott wanted someone else 'to see what happened', Sean was suspicious. "Well, the bullies, ah, idiots, um, other...
The Coach was even happier with Thursday's practice. He worked with the offense and Sean worked with the defense. The scrimmage at the end of practice was better than Coach Strom had any right to expect. Both the defense and the offense were working well. AJ was working well as the quarterback and he was already developing an affinity with the rest of the backfield. The coach didn't have a lot of hope for the first game, but the season was beginning to look like it wouldn't be a total...
"This meeting will come to order," Sean said to the twenty people sitting around the large conference table. Department heads and their assistants quickly quieted and Sean said, "Aunt Liz, would you open the meeting, please?" "Yes, Sean," Liz Cavalla replied. "This is the quarterly meeting of Gordian Enterprises. All department heads are present or accounted for. This meeting is being held at the Gordian Enterprises' Corporate Offices in Phoenix, Arizona on March 20, 2013. The last...
And now, Weaver. From the corner of his eye, Weaver caught sight of the big fist thundering toward him. It had been years since he'd fought in the ring and maybe he wasn't as fast as he used to be, but he still knew how to react to a haymaker. He slipped under the wild punch and came up inside with a short, hammer-like left shot to the brute's ribcage. Stumbling backward, the big man was surprised at the force of the blow from someone so much smaller than himself. As Weaver plotted his...

Dream Weaver 1, The Well (c) 2002, Deanna Lea Life in the seventh grade was a living Hell. The girls wanted to know how I had such "cute" eyelashes and the boys thought I was a girl because I had started growing little girl boobs. Junior High School is tough enough for most kids, you don't know where you fit in. Are you still in grade school or have you graduated almost to high school. And for many this is where puberty begins its torturous journey. In my case it was...
"C'mon Speck, keep up!" We were running what we had come to call the western break. Not really a trail, but a line along the northwestern slope of the valley where the change in angle of the slope caused a thinning of the trees. We ran this trail or another we called the riverside trail every morning. I pumped Light into Speck every time, giving him the exposure and build up that had become traditional for those who bore arms beside us. His speed and stamina was improving, but this was...
"How familiar are you with meditation?" I asked Cor. "Well, I've done it in Yoga class, and our drama teacher liked to have us do it now and then during class in high school, but I wouldn't say I do it often, or even at all recently." Cor answered. "Well, we do it at the drop of a hat, and not just us kids, but all our parents too. Its a basic tool in the arsenal of the Legion and the Guardians." Ren said. "At least you're familiar with the basics then?" I asked. "Controlling...
I arrived back at the Tower of the Wind with Trellis Valse clinging tightly to my hand. We had to leave her father Hayrick at Skaldale to finish his trip back to the family farm. There were too many irons in the fire at the moment for me to do more, but Hayrick was grateful for the quick trip from Whitecliffs to Skaldale. That at least had saved him many dangerous days of travel on the road. "Welcome to the Tower of the Wind Trellis. Your new home, at least for the next little...
Preparations can be made only by making them, not by merely wishing them to be, so Cor and I got very busy. I let Cor coordinate things with Chester and get everyone set to have dinner at our apartment before the actual party started. While she was doing that, I made another trip to Beletara to see about a concert venue. Wick took me to see Maistre Orb Benek at the Grand Hall. "What? I was getting used to having Cord around to keep me out of trouble, but today I get you?" I asked,...
I had just finished another round of visits to the principals in our upcoming confrontation, and was back home in the Valley of the Wind once again. I had checked with the Armored foot in Lamin, and found that the majority of the Zadaru were there. There was some friction between the two populations, but it was being kept to a minimum, mostly by the continuous presence of the Wind of Arbor. My sweet Cor was as busy as I was! They planned to move out within days of my visit, so her mediating...
We had camped beside the road the night before, happy to sleep under the stars and near the rocky, rollinging stream that followed this stretch of the road to Beletara. Slider was completely adjusted to life on the road now after a week of travel. Grendel was still wondering where the stable was, but she gently shook off her disappointment at the end of every day. Breakfast was cornbread, re-heated over the fire, and dipped in honey. We drank steaming cups of Cintosa, the Arborian equivalent...
As the transportation committee, Cor and I had taken our job seriously. We chartered a grav-bus. One of the new, sleek ones designed for high-end customers, with some seriously pimped out accoutrement. We pulled up in front of Stratton at 7pm where the rest of the crew were waiting. We weren't hard to spot. A luxury grav-bus with "Charles River 50 Mile Club" emblazoned on the side made us a bit obvious. The sixteen of us piled onto the bus. The girls were definitely dressed up and...
The day before Thanksgiving, I went and collected Vic Greene and the Guard and brought them to the Focus. Cor was there waiting. "Welcome to Arbor." I said. "You all know what a Focus is, and what an important role it can play. Especially you Preci." I guided them to the edge of the little plateau, letting them gaze out on the valley below and the Tower across the valley. "This is Arbor's Focus, and while the Tower you see there is its heart, this Focus is its soul." I turned and...
The preparations for the trip to Beletara soon became all-consuming, once the excitement of the Thanksgiving feast had died away. In addition, I had to give Master Jo an hour a day. I felt like I was starting over in my training with him. Every old thing became new when wrapped in the philosophy and knowledge of the Master. I was also taking his instruction in the Bow, along with everyone else. Somewhere at the far end of the training, the Way of the Staff and the Art of the Bow would meet...
Udit called another family meeting for Friday, March the 26th. Meetings with all of them were difficult due to schedule conflicts. Udit explained that it was important for everyone to be there for this meeting. He was expecting a special delivery package from the council on Friday with the results of the Dream Ceremony. The family agreed to finish dinner and get caught up each other's lives before getting down to the serious business Udit called the meeting for. Susan immediately noted a...
Wind and I had jumped, not straight to the Tower, but first to the Shavrom enclave, Where we gave our new friends a quick update on what had transpired. "Wick, I am going to ask you to act on my behalf in a matter, if you are willing." I said over a glass of Korellian Blue Leaf. "Certainly Weaver!" The Shavrom patriarch agreed. "What will you ask of me?" "I would like you to check up on a family for me. Plank Durmiter and his wife Opal and their two children Ketch and Biter. During...
Thanks to Persephone for his help in editing and suggestions to make the story easier to read. This is a work of fiction, that's why it's being placed on FM'S web site, however, if any of this sounds familiar it's because as Transsexual women we will travel this journey in a number of interesting and unusual ways. Recently on the FM hyperboard there has been considerable discussion on the topic of dreams and how they play out in our journey. This is just one such accounting....
Our evening meal was a much quieter and laid back affair than the midday meal had been, with no demands on us to impress royalty. Lord Esterhal and his family had left for the Palace, where they would be dining with the Princess. We had all enjoyed early afternoon naps, as everyone made an effort to ensure they would be able to stay awake through the midnight hour for Thistle and Starlight's performance. Thistle and Starlight ate their dinner sequestered in Thistle's room. They had very...
Introductions were made and most everyone was seated. They were short one chair. Pappy elected to lean against the wall rather than get an extra chair from his or BB's apartments in the barn. He wanted to know what was going on and wouldn't take a chance of missing something. Though he loved Sean, he still wasn't completely comfortable with this Wizard business and controlling the animals. Sean was sitting in a highchair beside Seth. Martha's motherly manner settled everyone and even...
Martha got the men settled around the table. Seth had fixed a brace for one of the chairs so Sean's car carrier could hold Sean at table height. Udit chuckled and pointed out that most people just used a highchair for their babies. "Sean's more comfortable this way Mr. Udit," Martha replied with a little irritation in her voice. "This way it seems like it's easier for him to join the conversation with the rest of us," she explained. Her expression started to look sheepish before it...
David's walk through of the Ranch Hand Kitchen confirmed that some power, tainted by the Nightmare, had been at work during their meal. Unfortunately, he couldn't localize the smell to a particular chair or even side of the table. So, they knew that one of the five Wizards was the gray dove. They still didn't know which one. Sean decided that David Stalker should be present for all future meetings with Wizards. He felt that it was crucial to the safety of his family. The Wizards and...
Brett Stevens turned to look back as his Ram Charger turned from the driveway and picked up speed on the gravel road. All five Magi were in the first Ram Charger and their seconds were following in the other. Both vehicles followed an Arizona state police cruiser. He turned back, facing front. He glared at the police car ahead of them and demanded, "What the hell was that about, Whitcomb?" Karl Whitcomb could only turn his head and glare at the leader of the Americas Council. "Oh, for...
Beletara had two things that intrigued me. It sat on the shore of the Summer Sea, and there was actually a guild house for the Wizard's Guild. Having been Declared by Firetree, I was, in theory, a member. That possibility was the extent of my knowledge of the Wizard's Guild. I didn't know if there were dues to be paid, meetings to attend. I didn't even know if there was a secret handshake! We had been passing people headed away from the city regularly since we left the spring, and when...
The Shar were not a quiet people, I discovered, only shy and light sensitive. One of the adaptations that my transformation had given me was excellent night and low light vision. Weaver explained part of it as being an 'extension into the infrared and ultraviolet bands of the spectrum'. Whatever that means! What I could see was more important than what I understood in this case. The lights of SharHom were a pretty purple-lavender that spread from clusters and strips of crystal embedded in...
The two black Dodge Ram Chargers were not as hesitant about driving into the ranch yard as they had been on the previous visit. Once again, Sean had warning of the impending arrival of the little caravan from his feathered friends. The 'family' was arrayed on the ranch house porch awaiting the Delegation. David was included in this meeting to screen for possible Nightmare intruders. He was anxious for the meeting to be concluded though. Ava had called the night before to give them flight...
William de Mort rode his powerful black charger at the head of his caravan. His eyes fixed on a castle that dominated the lush green valley. The castle's tall rectangular keep sat secure behind a stone ring of imposing fortifications. Still, the young Baron felt unimpressed and slammed his inheritance. "To think I inherited this... No wonder they call father, Berty the bastard." ~ At the castle's gatehouse William dismounted his horse onto the cobblestones, where he was met by the castle's...
FantasyThe week passed quickly, despite the awkward homecoming. Seth had called ahead so that Martha knew that two additional guests were returning with them. He didn't tell her about everything that had happened in Phoenix. Martha had relayed the information about the impending arrival of Lian and Laoshin to the rest of the 'family' that was in residence. Sheila and BB shrugged it off. "If they're on our side, then it doesn't matter," Sheila said. Susan and Pete's were more skeptical....
Udit was sitting at the kitchen table an hour later with Seth, Martha, Pappy and Sean. "David confirmed that it was Magdalena that attacked Pete and Susan," he explained. "That's the bad news because she's a very dangerous person. The good news is that she doesn't seem to be aimed at Sean and our group, our family. She was only there to try to protect one of her people that was being prosecuted. Pete has already handed off the papers to the prosecutor so there shouldn't be any further...
David was excited as he drove the Bronco to Phoenix. Udit and Brennan were with him on the trip. Udit felt like Avasa was the daughter that he never had. He also felt responsible for Ava since he was not able to save her father and husband. Udit didn't feel it was right for Ava to travel without a chaperone. He didn't believe a man anxious for her company and a stranger qualified as proper chaperones. "Besides," he convinced himself. "I've been stuck up in these mountains while...
BB returned Sheila's call after the meeting. His first task was to reassure her that Martha and Seth were happy to let her stay at the ranch until the wedding. Sheila had expected a call back soon after she hung up and it had been hours. BB explained what had happened and what they decided to do about it. "Sheila, I don't want to put you in danger but I was told that you should be the one to decide," BB said. "I want you here but, at the same time, I want you safe. Can you understand...
The next few months the family was involved with intense training. Udit built on the two beginning exercises with additional exercises for focus, detail and comprehension enhancement. Udit also asked them to start meditating twice daily, and then he had to teach them how to meditate. Pete shook his head and said, "Udit, I can't sit with my legs all crossed and feet over my knees like the mediators do. I just don't bend that way." "You don't have to be in those positions to meditate,"...
Calling the next few months hectic for the Flynn clan would be a major understatement. Even Wizardly powers couldn't compensate for too much to do in too little time or too many people living in too small a space. Arrangements to send David's body home was the first order of business. Udit felt that it was his place to handle this particular detail. The old Shaman was very capable in many areas. Some of the family described him as the most skilled of the non-wizards of the group. However,...
May turned into June and life settled into a new normal for the Gordian Ranch and its associates. The new normal included no one traveling alone for any reason and everyone had a shotgun with them at all times. And they trained. They trained individually and together. They competed individually and in teams. Sean wasn't allowed to be one of the teams because everyone considered that unfair. Instead, Udit devised ways that Sean could attack the others. It helped Sean sharpen his skills and...
Sean noticed Pappy's repeated glances at Laoshin and figured out that he was looking for a response from the woman. He also noticed that Laoshin was aware of Pappy's interest, and was fighting to keep from smiling. She didn't show anything in her expression, but Sean could feel her emotions. "Pappy, do they use dogs or cats for filling in those chilies?" Sean asked innocently. Pappy started sputtering incoherently. Laoshin graced Pappy with a huge smile. "We must complement the...
This story is conceived as one of many possible origins for the Spells-R- Us wizard. Bill Hart created both the wizard and the Spells-R-Us universe, and only he can ever state with any definitive authority what is "true" about the wizard. This story is merely written as a fun exercise to explore the world of Spells-R-Us. It deliberately contradicts other "what if" tales in an effort to firmly establish the non-canonical nature of this and other unofficial Spells-R-Us stories. This may...
John was leading with Brennan behind him and Cory was bringing up the rear when they emerged onto the logging road. Night had fallen and they had to proceed with the flashlights. A glow on the horizon promised moonlight in the next hour or so but, until then, they had to rely on the flashlights. John crouched with his head swiveling, sweeping the beam of the flashlight ahead of him. "I hear a motor idling," John whispered urgently over his shoulder to his companions. Cory moved up beside...
Lian seemed to go into a trance as soon as she was settled in the back seat of the Ford Bronco. She had only spoken once throughout the loading process and departure from the Biltmore. Brett Stevens had said something to her just before she stepped into the vehicle. No one would hear what he said. Her response had been sharp, loud, and to the point. "I am still a part of this Delegation," Lian had said in a calm, cold voice. Sean felt like shards of ice were forming in the air from the...
Chapter # 6 Off To See The Wizard Kirk had arrived at school this morning still brooding about yesterday's news from Bob Glass about his sister's decision to go to the prom with the weasel. Now, something else had happened to upset his happy universe, something he couldn't quite get his mind wrapped around. Bob had come and damn near attacked him. Worse he had done this in front of everyone! Well, everyone important anyway. The others looking on could...
SRU- Interview with the Wizard By Mr. W Thought this might be an interesting story. Please forgive me if I've taken a few liberties with the material. This story is dedicated to all those who have written SRU stories. I couldn't have done it without you. "Good evening, Channel 16 viewers." The announcer said. "This is Kenneth Kain with an exclusive interview." Kenneth Kain is the seasoned reporter on Channel 16 news. He is 50 something, short black hair, now graying at the...
This may...
Jacob talked with Lance during dinner. "If you continue to think so highly of Alison," replied Lancelot, "you can request her to be yours permanently." "The King would do that?" Jacob asked. That was a bitchin' idea! Lancelot shrugged. "If the King says 'no', then it is no, but you do not know until you ask." Since Lance brought up asking, Jacob said, "So could, like, Alison and Mira and Gili, the girl in my room this afternoon, be, like, assigned to me tonight?" Lancelot...
A Halloween Fairytale Story There was once a Prince, handsome by all accounts. Possessing all of the manly attributes that a Prince should possess, all that is with the exception of one. In spite of this the Prince possessed a penis no bigger than his thumb, and testicles no larger than marbles. Now it came through word of mouth, there lived a Wizard in a certain location with the power to grant wishes. After searching for a year the prince was resting after bathing in a stream that ran through...
GayThe wizard and his dragon The old wizard lived alone with his dragon. The dragon was his best friend. The wizard would spend hours watching his crystal ball, the fair maiden that appeared in it fascinated him, for she was the fairest in all the land. He knew of her by Lady Louise of Berkshire , a name they called her as she walked through the village and the wood. She flirted with the male population, and brought smiles to all their faces. The wizard could only hope to meet her some day, to...

Love StoriesThe Ranch Hands Kitchen was built on the opposite side of the barn from the two apartments that had been built for Pappy and BB. It was a large room with a propane cooking range in one corner along with cabinets to hold cooking utensils, dishes and flatware. Several mismatched tables with mismatched chairs filled the room and spare chairs were against the wall. One corner of the room was walled off to hold a toilet and sink. Until recently, the ranch held a round up once a year. Riders were...
Wrong Wizard by Paul G Jutras Sam Hoseman always believed there was a microscopic truth in everything fiction. When he started reading stories on the Internet about a traveling wizard who changed men into women, he decided to spend his summer vacation looking for him. Then he could start summer off as the woman he always meant to be. He was traveling through the sandy desert of the middle east when he saw an odd little tent with a sign written in English instead of Arabic. A sign...

The next couple of days were spent in interviews. The officials had set up interviews with all the crew available, and they were each waiting their turn. No one was happy with many of the questions the new arrivals were asking about Lee, Kyle, the Captain and Sean. The dinners had turned back into more sedate affairs, and Sean had even relented and moved the van Holton’s to a double room. A casual chat with Mark van Holton had reassured him they were not here to railroad them. They were...
I was walking down the sidewalk on my way to a Halloween party. I had been torn between going as a Cowboy with the two gun rig or as Harry potter... I compromised I was wearing Harry' s Black robe including the wand up the sleeve. To compliment this outfit I had my two gun rig around my waist and wearing my Cowboy Hat and boots with pointy toes. I know I looked silly but maybe I would win the prize as the most absurd. If they asked what I was I could tell them I was the Western...
"Ready?" greeted Lancelot in Jacob's room sometime after the morning meal. "For what?" replied Jacob. "To meet Merlin." "Merlin?" "Do you not remember the King's request for you to visit with Merlin?" Jacob remembered. He hoped everybody else had forgotten. "Hey, uh ... Lance dude? I was thinking that like I don't want to really meet this Merlin dude. Since we're both wizards, what's there to say to each other, you know? I thought I'd just stay in my room and chill. If...
"His constitution is weak," Jacob heard a man's voice. The voice sounded like his surfing buddy Derek. Why was he talking about the government? Jacob stretched but kept his eyes closed. He wasn't ready to wake up because he was still very tired after the strange night. He couldn't remember what he dreamt about but he knew it was weird. His bed was comfortable, but felt different. He rolled onto his side to see if he could return to slumber. The night was cool. He must have left the...
