There was still plenty to be done before Homecoming. I needed to call the girls that Mary had talked to and see what could be done about Randy and some of his sophomore buddies, and to determine what they had been doing to exploit girls at parties.

Over the course of several nights during that following week I called the four girls that had agreed to talk to me. They were all pretty apprehensive at first, but after I explained to each one of them that I had found out about it because it also happened to my girlfriend, Leslie, they each talked to me about what had happened.

In each case the girls were at a party just having some fun and then they seem to not remember exactly how they ended up in the bedroom with a bunch of guys all alone. Several of them had actually been raped and the other two had been fondled and then forced to blow several guys before they realized what they were doing and had the strength to get out of there. It seems that Randy was in fact the leader of the group of guys and he was always the one who threatened the girls afterward to keep them quiet. I don't know how he did it, but he somehow convinced these girls that it was their fault and that they were the ones asking for it.

I almost got sick to my stomach hearing that. These girls were all in tears by the time that they finished telling me their story. It probably felt good to actually tell someone the truth after all this time, but I encouraged each one of them to go for counseling. They all told me that they didn't want to deal with the police or their parents and they knew that they would have to if they talked to an adult. They were all underage and they didn't trust any adults to help them quietly.

In the end I took serious notes without the names of the girls. I promised them all that I would not give any names, but that I was going to try to find a way to stop it from happening anymore. After a lot of thinking I decided that there really wasn't anything I could do, other than beat the crap out of these guys; that would stop them from doing it again. Even that didn't guarantee that they wouldn't start up again as soon as I wasn't around anymore.

I decided to talk to my police contact from the night I got stabbed. He seemed like a pretty down-to-earth cop and he had even let me go when he caught me drinking at the party a while back. I still had his card from when he gave it to me at the hospital.

I got out the card and gave him a call.

"Office Carlson, please."

"Hold on."

"Officer Carson speaking."

"Officer Carlson, hi, this is Jeff Dugan."

"Dugan? Oh yeah, the boy from the high school stabbing. Is that you?"

"Yeah, that's me. I'm glad you remember me."

"What can I do for you, Jeff?"

"Well, I'm not sure if you can do anything, but I have run into a serious problem and I thought it could be better handled by you guys than by me."

"What kind of problem are we talking about?"

"Awhile back I stumbled onto some disturbing information about some of the sophomore guys in the school. I did a little digging and came up with quite a bit of detailed information about what these guys were doing. In a nutshell, these guys are dropping some kind of drug in girls' drinks at parties and then they are sexually assaulting them."

"Really? You're sure about this?"

"One-hundred percent. I got a friend of mine who is friends with a lot of these girls to do a bit of quiet checking around and found out at least seven girls have had this done to them over the last year or so. All of them are sophomore girls."

"So you got the story from a friend of a friend?" He sounded skeptical.

"No, I got the names from a friend and then called them myself to talk to them about it. I have personally talked to five of them about what happened." I didn't tell him that the fifth one was my girlfriend.

"Are they willing to testify?"

"No. In order for them to talk, they made me promise that I wouldn't identify them to the police. None of them want the publicity or to have to explain it to their parents."

"What am I supposed to do about it then?"

"I don't know. I have detailed notes that you could look at. It may help give you some ideas on how to approach it. I thought about it a lot and I wanted to set these guys up and then catch then in the act, but it is too dangerous and I don't have a girl that I could risk. I need your help. If we don't do something about this, they are going to keep doing it."

"Okay. Can you come down to the station?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. Come in tomorrow after school and bring me your notes. I'll see what we can do.

"Thanks, Office Carlson."

"See you tomorrow."

I did go the police station and give him the notes. We talked about it a lot and he told me he'd get back to me after he talked it over with his boss. He called me several days later and told me they had some ideas, but that he wasn't going to tell me what was going on so that I couldn't give it away.

I never noticed the new girl in school about a week later. She was a sophomore and off my radar. Apparently Randy and the boys noticed her, though. They must have seen her as fresh meat because they tried to dose her at the next party.

Too bad for them: she was a planted cop. She was the youngest-looking cop I have ever seen. They did their usual routine, but this time there were hidden cameras all over the house where the party was and she faked drinking the drink and the effects of the drugs. When they tried to assault her, the cops burst in from every doorway and arrested them all.

They got Randy and five other guys for sexual assault and one of the guys for the drugging. Several of the guys managed to make themselves scarce before the bust went down. I think they were only part of it because they were scared of what Randy would do to them if they weren't. Eventually their morals won out and they left the party before the bust. These guys eventually came forward and testified that this was a recurring thing and gave lots of details about past versions of the same crime. Because the girls were all minors their names were sealed and kept out of the court. Needless to say, Randy and his friends were all sent off to juvenile detention centers where I hoped they became resident bitches for the bigger guys.

This whole thing caused quite a stir at school. I didn't tell anyone that I was part of it. I didn't need any more of that kind of attention. I did get a big kiss from Leslie for helping put them away. Although I didn't admit to anything she could see through me and she knew I had helped the police. Mary also gave me a big hug and kiss on the cheek for my part. She knew that I was the one who must have gone to the police. The other girls who had given me the info just smiled a secret smile with me when we saw each other. They all looked happier than they had seemed before the bust.

I was congratulated by the town police chief for helping them. He even offered me a job after graduation, but I told him I had other plans. While I enjoy protecting the innocent as much as the next guy, being a cop was not for me.

Later in the week that Leslie and I had done our little show for Nurse Crandall, I stopped in to talk to her about it.

"Hello, Jenny."

"Oh, hi, Jeffrey, how are you?"

"I'm great, thanks. So. Did you enjoy watching Leslie and me the other afternoon?'

"Jeffrey! I can't believe you would ask me that!" She was trying to sound outraged by the idea, but I wasn't falling for it.

"No problem. Did you come?"
