Saturday morning arrived to find Michelle lying beside me in my bed, and the bright sun streaming in the windows. As he neared the table he asked, "Mr. Baker, have you seen..." and by that time he was standing next to me and could see his wife sitting across from me. "Michelle, where have you been? "I didn't think you cared where I was. At least that's what you told me the other day. And you certainly didn't seem too concerned about me last night, when we saw you in the lobby."
"Where were you last night? I waited up for you until I fell asleep. When did you see me in the lobby?"
"We saw you as you were coming into the hotel, and you didn't even acknowledge me. You didn't say hello or good bye or anything. Why do you care where I stayed last night?" Her voice became a bit sharper.
Terry, on the other hand, was clueless. He continued his interrogation of his wife, which was probably not his best option. "Where did you get those clothes?"
"I bought them yesterday when he took me to the mall. I charged them on your credit card. I'm surprised you noticed. They are the first new things I have purchased since we have been married, and only because you were not there to stop me. I also went to a salon and had a beauty makeover, which I also charged to you ... just in case you hadn't noticed."
"I didn't authorize you to do that," he protested.
"You did when you had me take your last name at our wedding. But you may not need to worry about that much longer. Just think, Terry, we have been here for three days. In that time, the only things that you have said to me was that you weren't concerned about what I did all day while you were gone, and you wondered where the wet spot came from on the mattress of our bed. That's all you have said. Not "Good Morning" or "Hello" or "Go to hell", just "why is the bed all wet?" Well, let me tell you, it wasn't anything you had anything to do with!!!"
With that said Michelle stood up from the table and walked straight out of the restaurant. I grabbed the check, signed it to my room and was after her, just as the elevator door was closing.
"What are you going to do?" I asked.
"I'd like to go home, but our tickets aren't until tomorrow."
"If you want to leave, I will get your ticket changed and fly home with you today."
"I don't think you can," she protested. "I don't think you can change tickets like that any more."
"Then, I will buy you a ticket, for God's sake. If you want to go today with me, we will go today. Now, I suggest you go up to your room and pack your things and come back down to my room. I will make the ticketing arrangements while you pack."
Being a Platinum Class frequent flyer did not hurt when I called for the ticket changes. They were quite happy to accommodate my wishes, and we were confirmed on the 11:30 plane.
When Michelle returned to my room, I asked her if she was certain that she wanted to go home like this, and she was very clear that it was exactly what she wanted. I wasn't going to argue, because I didn't know what was to come or how or even if I would be involved. So far, I had managed to bed this guy's wife, experience all sorts of sexual firsts with her and buy her a plane ticket home. I had not verbally committed to anything, although there was some uncertainty in my heart about that. I called for a car to take us to the airport, checked out from the room, and packed my lone travel bag. I told Michelle to call her room on the phone from the lobby and leave a message for Terry that she was going home today. As soon as she had done that, we were out the door and into the car.
We boarded our plane on time, and without difficulty, but once again, I was mildly surprised by my travel companion. She had never flown first class before, and was actually concerned that she was, in some way, unqualified to be allowed to sit there. I don't know what rules she imagined existed, besides the requirement of having a first class ticket, but she was thrilled beyond words at this new experience. I explained to her that with the amount of air travel that I did, I was not about to squeeze myself into the coach seats, and I wouldn't ask anyone traveling with me to do so.
We talked (really, I listened) all the way back to Chicago. She told me about growing up in a small town in Iowa, the adventure of going to work in and office after she finished her education, and of meeting, and eventually dating Terry. She told me how, as a young girl in that small town, her father had been very strict, forbidding her from dating before she turned sixteen. Even then, she didn't have many dates, she said, because the boys were only interested in the girls with big chests. Until she met Terry, she had only kissed two other boys and had never allowed them to touch her body anywhere. One boy had forced her to hold his cock, trying to get her to jack him off, but she wouldn't do it, and never dated him again, mostly out of fear.
My conclusion was that she had extremely limited experience in social interactions with men, and virtually no prior sexual experience, other than what she had experienced with her husband. It was, it seemed to me, extremely unfortunate that her first job was for a company with some really strange dress codes, and that she met a young man who coupled those dress codes with his own strange approach to love and affection.
We talked about what she would do, once we arrived in Chicago. I broached that question carefully, without suggesting an answer. She moved closer to me, slid her arm through mine as we sat, and asked what I wanted her to do. I told her that I would not answer that until knew what she intended to do.
